Regarding material & service master

Hi,
This is emmanuel SAP SD CONSULTANT, CAN WE CREATE SERVICE MASTER INSTOOD OF MATERIALS MASTER.  BECAUSE MY CLIENT IS SERVICE ORIENTAED NOT MANUFACTUING. INSTOOD OF MATERIALS MASTER, CAN WE CREATE SERVICE MASTER. SO HELP ME IF ANY BODY

Hi,
In our project also we are using service material only.
Here we are creating the material by using "MM01" T.Code.
We have to select the material type as "DIEN(service material)".
And proceed further in creating the order.
Select the required layouts.
Coming to Item category,goto VOV7 T.Code.
Seelct your Item category.Details.
Don't tick the check box "Item Rel. for Delivery".
Save.
Donot maintain any entry in VTLA T.Code.
In VOV8 T.Code for your sales document type maintain value for order rel. bill type.
As it is service material,it is not relevant for delivery.
Regards,
Krishna.

  • Material/service master catalog upload (ECC-CCM)

SRM have 2 possible scenarios to upload the material master data to CCM:
1- Upload material master data from ECC to SRM and, after, from SRM to CCM.
2- Upload material master data directly from ECC to SRM.
Does anybody know the name of the transaction or report in ECC to upload the material/service master catalog directly to CCM?

    Hi All-
I have about 3 tricky questions concerning CCM-ECC Integration
1.) Does anybody have any idea on how to upload Material and Service master from ECC 6.0 directly into the CCM 2.0 system. Is there any standard program like we have in SRM called as BBP_CCM_TRANSFER_CATALOG. I
2.) Also are there any complications or is it possble to integrate CCM 2.0 directly from ME51n? I am aware that PM and PS out-of-the-box can be directly integrated to CCM. Is there a similar way to achieve this functionality. If yes can anybody give me some pointers on this.
3.) Are there any complications involved with uploading service masters and interfacing CCM to EBP or ECC and directly using the service master from CCM to create a Shopping cart (CCM-EBP) or  a purchase requisition (CCM-ECC).
I hope some one can throw some light on these questions.
Suitable points will be rewarded for helpfull answers !!

  • MM SRV - Service Master - AC01 and MM01

    Hi All,
Please help in these questions regarding  External Service Master management we create in AC01.
    1.   Is this Service Material is anyway related to MM01 material or they are two completely different materials?
    2.   What is common between MM01 Material and AC01 Service Material ?
    3.   Is Service Material is used in SRM ? If yes, all of them or only some of them ?
    + An

    Hi,
    1. Material(used for material being procured) master and service master(used for services being procured) are two different master details in SAP.
    2. service master records to be used while procuring services with item category D, and service master numbers to be entered at service line item level. Same like materials, details like unit, description, service groups, valuation claas needs to be maintained while creation of service master.
    4. standard reports are available in SAP to track the services procured based on the service master number.
3 yes. service master data can be used in SRm, all of them can be used.

  • Service Master Agreement Type

    Hi all,
We have an requirement for using the service master agreement type  for one our project.
Can anyone help in undertanding this agreement type.
    Regards,
    Priya

    Hi
Service master agreement type is nothing but agreement with sub agreements. SAP here suggest that you treat service as a sub agreement thereby keeping track of various milestones etc. However in SAP ECC services are not individual contracts rather there is a seperate master data component (service master).
Since there is no integration, decision you need to make is whether you want to treat service as an individual sub agreement or a material in e sourcing as there is no seperate master data component for services in e sourcing. Based on business requirement you can proceed further.

  • Service Master and Material Master relation

    Hi Friends,
Our client requirement is to procure and sale same services.
and client wants to post the services to different G/L accounts for ex: if I am raising a sale order or Purchase order,
then for each different service line item to be posted to different G/L accounts.
Initially I thought of creating the service master with different valuation classes but when the same thing comes to sales then with service master they cannot create the sale order.
Hence kindly advice in this case whether to go with the service master creation and create the PO's with the service masters
or   go with the creation of material master with the services material type with different valuation classes?
    Thanks in Advance.
    regards,
    Sasi Kanth J

    Hi,
For services the concerned entries have to be maintained in table T030.
The system will then suggest the G/L accounts as per the valuation class
maintained in table T030 (Standard Accounts Table, transaction OBYC).
    The system will determine the
G/L account depending on the following criteria:
    T001K-BWMOD
    BKLAS
    T001-KTOPL
    T163K-KOMOK
Services level is one level below materials, which results in
some inherent restrictions compared to materials. In case of
services the values have to be maintained in the table T030.

  • SERVICE  PO using service master and service PO using Material Type DIEN

Dear Gurus can you differenciate between SERVICE  PO using service master and service PO using Material Type DIEN ?
    Regards
    Vinod Suresh Kakade

    Hi,
Material type DIEN is used for when you offer "SERVICE" to your customer.
When you are procuring "SERVICE" from your vendor, you can use external service management where service master is used (Steps are PO created in ME21N with Item Cat. "D" with Acc. ***. Cat. "K" or "C", ML81N, MIRO & F-53).
In Standard DIEN material type designed for Sales usage only, but you can use DIEN for Purchase also to avoid External Services Management.

  • MM-SRV: Adopt Material Group from Service Master instead of default in SPRO

At my current client we are encountering a problem when creating requisitions for services.  When the system was originally configured years ago, a default value for material group was entered in the IMG under:
Logistics > Materials Management > External Services Management > Source Determination and Default Values > For Client
Field is "Default material group at item level" (V_T165-MATKL)
Up to now this singular default value was fine because they only had one material group for services.  They are now wanting to further stratify their services spend, so there are now several additional values for Material Group that can (and are) used among their service master records.  Having a single default value for Material Group is resulting in incorrect reporting of spend per Material Group.
I removed the default value in the config node stated above, but now the problem is that when creating a requisition line for services (item category D) in ME51N, no value for Material Group comes in at all, resulting in an error because Material Group is a mandatory field.  Making the field optional on the Field Selection Groups is not a valid solution, as they need Material Group for spend reporting.
What we really need is for the Material Group to be automatically copied over from the service master data, in the same manner that this takes place for the material group contained in a material master.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

    Hi,
    Hi,
    1) If service master is used in the PO item, then the system will take the
material group from the service master (AC01).
    2) If no service master is maintained then the system will take the
material group from the table T023. To be able to change this material group on services level - if you want a different material group on services level, you must set the field ESLL-MATKL for visible in the table control settings, and the change of the service group must be carried out manually.
Please be advised that it is the standard behaviour that the material
group on service level is not updated automatically after you have
changed the material group on purchasing level. The material group on
service level must be adjusted manually.
    3) By default for service lines the system will consider the material
group which is entered at the Item level.
Services can have different material groups, therefore you can change
the material group at service level. The material group in service line
can be different and always takes higher priority from the material
    group at the item level.

  • Field 'material' in service master data and material requisition

    Hello, all!
Could anybody say, what is the purpose of field 'material' in service master data ('other' tab) and why system after setting the object type in that tab to 1 'material' will never show service in search help?
This first question comes from the second problem: I thought that I can make a service group, containing materials and services (like routings in PP), so system will be able to make material requisition for a case in automatical manner.
But now I'm confused. It looks like material requisition can only be made manually throught NMM7.
Is there any abilities to make requisition in automatical manner?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Pavel,
ad1) we support the creating of services based on material consumptions via service rules. Users are able to activate services rules which generate services based on the material consumption per case. But we need two entities material and services. Service rules are running automatically and no further manual work is necessary.
You will find the Service rules via IMG -> Patient Billing -> Service Rules. Service Rule R24 is the relevant service rule to generate services based on matierial consumption.
ad2) The field object type is not been used in Patient Management. It is only used by our clinical partner solution i.s.h.med. I understand that this field is confusing and not very well documented. In Patient Management we use the service master only for "services". i.s.h.med uses the field "material" and "personel" (e.g. physicians time). But it has no relevance for Patient Management.

  • Use of Material price from material master in billing of material services

    Hi,
In material consumption cycle when material service is billed, the rates/prices  that are used for billing
come from the service column in service master  whereas the functionality requires to bill on the actual material rates From the material master in MM.
How can i get this done.I have already tried with pricing procedure configuration.
How can i use the material price for billing purpose. What exactly i need to do.
    Please assist.

    RAMIT

    Hello colleagues,
I am working on the same topic right now.
    I've done the following steps:
                                   1). Service Rule R24
                                   2). Default Material Service
3). Mode 2 for a material in a material master data
                                   4). A condition table
5). An access sequence for this condition table
                                   6). A condition type
7). A pricing procedure: with the formula 510
    I have two questions:
1). The system creates an invoice at cost zero when the calculation type of the condition is"Percentage" in the condition type.
The system creates an invoice at cost nonzero - when the calculation type of the condition is "Quantity" in the condition type. In this case I define an amount for a material directly in the condition.
I want to use a price of material based on a material master data. Could you please tell me what must I do for that?
2). I don't maintain a material directly in a material consumption view: I create a good issues for a case and the system creates a record in a material consumption view. In this case the R24 doesn't work: a default material service isn't created by the system based on a material in a material consumption view. (R24 only works when a material is maintained directly in a material consumption view).
Did somebody face with the issue? Do you have any idea how can I fix it?
Thank you very much for your time.
    Kind Regards,
    Alexander.

  • Service master and  material type 'service'

    Hi everybody.
I am a bit confused about "Service"
There is a service master that we can use to store and procure service.
Also we can use material master to store 'service' using material type 'service' and procure service in that way.
I want to know what is the difference between the two ? When shall I use what ?

    Hi
If you do not want to use 'External Service Management', you can use materials of type Service (DIEN).
This will be similar to any other account assigned material PO with free text. Instead of using free text, you are using material master and also helps you in identifyign service purchases from other material purchases. You will not use item category 'D' in this case. You do GR here.
Service masters are used when you use item category 'D' ('External Service Management'). There are additional flexibility of defining service specifications, service outlines, using service entry sheet etc here.

  • Service Master vs. Material Master - Type DIEN (Service)

We currently use Material Masters (type: DIEN) for procurement of all external services. I've been told it wasn't a good practice and that Service Masters should be adapted for this purpose. Is that so? I am now preparing a business case for implementation of Service Masters. What benefits are there for using the Service Masters and Service Type Purchase Orders instead of DIEN Material Masters?

    Hi,
Material type DIEN is used for when you offer "SERVICE" to your customer.
For procurement of service from vendor you can use process of External Services Management where you have service master (AC03). In this process Purchase order/Service order( you can have separate PO document type)created with  Acc. assignment ' K' ( or C or P of F as requirement) and Item category 'D' , the system automatically pick UOM is "1" activity unit in Item Overview and in item details you need to maintain the service master ,UOM, quantity & price /unit and then G/L account with cost center created .
Next steps you create Service Entry Sheet (SES), here you are just recognizing vendor performed service where you can see cost object (cost center), quantity of service to be provided already & save the document. No FI document created after creating/maintaining the Service Entry Sheet but once you release the Service Entry Sheet, then only FI document created.
Now you can do MIRO with respect to Service Entry Sheet which already recognized and accepted.
Finally you can do payment to service vendor in F-53.
    NOTE:
You can create u201CNu201D numbers of Service Entry Sheet (SES) with respect to Service order, till the all quantity received.
You can create MIRO w.r.t Service Entry Sheet and pay to vendor based on part service completed.

  • Services managed by material and service master.

    Hi,
why managing services by <b>material master</b> and
    why by <b>service master</b>?
    Best regards

    Hi
    use of service master
The service master record counts as part of the master data within External Services Management and serves as a source of data for you to draw upon when creating service specifications. This enables you to save time and reduces the frequency of errors, since you need only enter the complete service descriptions in the service master record once.

  • Creation of Service Master Record (Furniture and Fixture Maintenance)

    Hi,
I want to create a Service Master for "Furniture and Fixture Maintenance".
What should I keep in mind while creating a Service Master Record.
Would like to know the about the following fields which seems to be useful:
    Activity Number:
    Base Unit of Measure:
    Material Service Group:
    Division:
    Valuation Class
    Service Type
Is there any other fields which I should keep in mind.
    Regards,

    Thanks Murgun for the reply.
Sorry for late response from my side.
    1. What is use of Service Category. Do we need to use the default or we need to configure as per our requirement.
    2. while creating Service Order, we need to enter Single Short Text in Item & Multiple Short Texts in Item Details. What is the actual use of providing  Multiple Short Texts in Item Details.
    3. Can we use the Service Master in both in Item Short Text & Item Details Short Texts.
