Regarding MD01 MRP Run

Dear SAP Gurus,
The issue is PR is getting created for engineering during the MRP run of either Production / Materials. MRP controller for Production is 001 & material is 003 where as MRP controller for Engg. is 004, and we are not running any MRP for engineering items. Somehow PR is getting created for engineering items in the system.

did you mention any MRP controllers in th exit key .
if you haven't mentioned any thing then system willplan for all materials.
if you doesn't want to plan for engineering materials
, then you remove the procurment typa or remove the MRPtype

Regarding Wakly MRP Running

Dear Sir,
My client requirement is that they want to run MRP weakly.basis(Every monay morning).they will upload the requirement in MD61for 90 days.Now they are saying that after every weak, they will upload new requirement .and will run the MRP again. Please help me how to consider.I am running first time MRP , what are the things are to be taken into account while running MRP also.

I would suggest you to first check your master data,
1. MRP type,Lot Size,MRP controller,Time in days related to purchase and inhouse production,procurement type,Scheduling
margin key value.
2.MRP related settings in OPPQ for the plant.

User exit for MRP run - MD01

Hi All,
Can i know the use of "User exit parameter" field in MD01. as i know it means if we only want to plan the materials of a certain MRP controller, for example, we can enter the key of the appropriate MRP controller as the parameter.
in my scenario, we have already incorporated a user exit for MD01 - MRP Run.
i have 3 MRP controllers, but want to plan for only 2 MRP controllers, then how to enter in that field?

HI,
User exit are available for Md01 transaction. You can plan material by MRP Type, MRP Controller,MRP Type, Procurement type & so on....
Once you activate user exit, you can select the same by drill down option in user exit Key field.

In MRP Run for FERT, i want to eliminate 3rd level HALB and their BOM compo

Regarding - In MRP Run for FERT, i want to eliminate 3rd level HALB and their BOM components for exploration and planning
My scenario is:
Level 1: FERT1
Level 2: HALB1.1 + ROH1.1 + VERP1.1
Level 3: HALB1.1.1 + ROH1.1.1
Level 4: ROH 1.1.1.1 + ROH1.1.1.2
While performing MRP run i dont want to include the material HALB1.1.1 (Level 3 component) and their corresponding BOM component (ROH 1.1.1.1 + ROH1.1.1.2)
My constraint:
The reason for this is HALB1.1.1 is being manufactured through REM profile with separate PIR and MRP run.
But it is being consumed in FERT1 through intermediate semi-finished HALB1.1. and it needs to include for Product costing.
Note: All materials have been marked as PD - MRP type

The MRP is executed to plan the procurement, production etc.
Now for deciding the frequency will depend upon:
1. How much stock of Raw Materials you want to keep when you place the purchase orders.
2. How much stock should be there when you start production.
Ideally these should be zero, but in practical scenarios you keep some buffers for fluctuations.
3. For how long you want to plan with the MRP. Suppose you are running MRP to plan the next 3 months, then MRP should run before these 3 months get over or your stock falls below required level.
4. Lead times & Delivery times are taken into consideration, as stated above.
5. Consumption pattern for RM and other materials is also considered. If it is more, you would need MRP early. You can otherwise increase the order quantity but that will increase the inventory levels. So its a trade-off.
5. From SAP point of view, if it takes too much of system resources for longer times, then it should be used less frequently.
Moreover, the frequency should be decided by keeping the business in mind. When do the business requires the planning.

Problem with Back ground MRP Run (MDBT) or MD01

Hello SAP Experts,
Issue :- Material is not considering during Automatic back ground MRP run ( MDBT or MD01)
But when we run MRP in forground (MD02) system is considering the material.
we have checked both the selection parameter are same for MD01 and MD02 .
can you help us on this issue ?

Hi,
Problem is due to entry in Planing File is missing for that Material.
Go to MD21 and check whether Planing File entry is maintain for that Materiel.
If not then maintain it by T.code MD20 (Manual) or you can do it by using back Ground JOB - OMDU.

Can anyone of you tell me what is the outputs of followings?
1) Suppose we put MRP Type PD ,Lot-size- EX,Min.Lot size -5, Availability check 01,then what is the o/p after MRP run?
2) we put MRP Type -ND,lot size -EX,Remaining same as above .
3) we put MRP Type -PD, Lot size-FX,Fixed Lot-100,Remaining things are same as above .

Please find the answer as below
1.The MRP will generate Procurement proposals for the order quantity.i.e the effect of EX-lot for lot order . If the order quantity is less than 5, then also the procurement proposal will be for 5nos.i.e effect of minimum lot size.
2.Since MRP type ND no planning i.e. no requirements generated.
3.The MRP will generate procurement proposals for quantity 100. If more nos required, then many procurement proposals each for quantity 100.

Either I am totally misunderstanding your statements, or your business people are misinformed.
The output of MD01 (MRP total run in foreground) and the output of MDBT (MRP total Run in Background) ARE IDENTICAL, provided you have selected the same parameters.
Neither output contains a discrete listing of open Purchase orders and Purchase requisitions.
Standard output of both MD01 and MDBT are:
1. List of materials processed, with exception messages
2. Statistics
In addition, both of these programs also write MRP records to the MRP databases, provided that the "Display Material List" parameter is set. In this case, both of these programs will produce data that can be further reviewed and managed in MD05 and MD06. MD06 is the tool that most planners use to process the MRP database info.
If you wish to see a listing of the entire MRP results (either MD01 or MDBT), then execute transaction MDLD. This will produce either a spoolfile or a printed document.
For the PO or PR listings, review my earlier suggestions.

How to make Open Sales Orders consider unallocated stocks in MRP run

As listed above material in line no.1 is required to produce 2 and

I have open open sales orders for material TF180TK(fert).
What settings do I need to effect, to make the System consider Stocks & Open Purchase Orders for material TA300TK (roh) which are not allocated to these Sales Orders , when MRP run is carried out at plant level using MD01?

Good morning,
Client Has Make to order scenario. Scenario is as stated below
company is into making "Machines which manufactures bottles" which is a standard product for client.
Hence as per experiance, Client manufactures the Machines in adavance for the Stock.
As and when sales requirement is observed, machine is assembled with the changes asked by customer.
For Make to Stock Scenario.
Standard Machine code (11digit) is avaialble with BOM. The same code is used for Long term planning.
After receipt of order, customer wise MAterial code is generated. The above stadard code becomes child of This new material code.
The changes are addressed to customerwise material code.
This customer wise material code is nothing but dispatchable assembly as per customer requirements.
The Stratergy used for Stad. M/c code in MRP3 view is 40 and in MRP4 collective indicatior as 2.
The stratergy used for customer material code in MRP3 is 50 and w/o collective indicator.
Hence there is a std. bill of material for standard machine. MD61 plan will run against the same std. code.
MD61 is having Consumption indicator stated as 3.
As soon as Sales order is received, The MRP run is taken with command MD50.
During this MRP run, system consideres the Sales order requirement as a seperate Demand apart from Planned demand through MD61.
The system should not generate double requirement.
Needless to quote that raw materials and semi-finish items are planned in advance due to make to stock strategy.
"I have got one solution presently
that using MD02 take MRP run for common components
after receipt of sales order take MRP run MD50 for final assly.
system will not generate double requirement .
When MRP RUN taken through MD01,system generates double requirement. MRP run through MD01 run is required for VB marked items.
The std user Exit M61X0001 is available in standard SAP.
What should be the appropriate/correct solution for above stated problem.

In your case, MRP Creates sepearte dep requirements for customer demand.
As per ur settings, yor are doing procurement for std material before the receipt of sale order of customer material code.
u need not worry about dep requirements created against custome ordder. Bcz once u issue the std material to production order (while confirming production order created for custmer material from planned order) it will be reduced.

Hi,
Automatic MRP can be schedule at plant level only and from MDBT (MRP in background) and MD01 (MRP in foreground..this is not advisable) transactions.
You can schedule this either from MDBT transaction or from SM36. You first have to create variant for MRP program RMMRP000 for your plant with MRP controlling parameters from SE38 transaction if you want to schedule from SM36 and schedule as per your requirement like daywise, weekly or monthly.

Sales order link to MRP run

Dear gurus,
I have one query regarding sales order link to MRP run.
I had created sales order by VA01 & also independent requirement in MD61.
Both are acknowledged in MRP run.I know the requirement in MD61 transferred for MRP run(MD02/MDBT/MD01).
But my question is how sales order requirement considered in MRP run i.e. link to MRP run.Is there any customization?

BSF Gross planned independent requirements
KSL Sale from stock without independent
Requirement reduction
Goods Receipt - minus the quantity for the oldest planned independent in demand management. For e.g. if PIR is 100 and delivery 90, PIR becomes 10 (withdrawal 90).
Delivery - no impact as delivery is issue from sales order.

Purchase requisitions in MRP run

Hi ,
When MRP is run for the total plant , MD01,what should be the control parameter for create pur req ?.
I checked by altering the control parameters for MRP run(MD01). When MRP is run with option 1 (in create pur. req) it creates pur requistion and when run with option 3, it creates planned order.
In the plant there are raw material as well as semi finished products. So when MRP is run for the total plant what control parameter should be used ?

Hi Shankar,
Once you define which type of procesing you need for Raw Materials and Semifinished products you can control the creation indicator per material with MRP GROUP in MRP 1 View (MARC-DISGR).
You define this parameter per plant and you can assign it to different materials. Tx: OPPZ
IE
MRP Group
0000 Creates Purchase Requisition
0001 Creates Planned Order
There are other parameters that you can control with MRP Group
So for Raw Materials you can use 0000 and for semifinished product 0001. (Let you Key user know what he prefers, its going to depend on the business!!!)
