Regarding Message trace in XI

hi Experts,
I am doing file to idoc scenario.
I have idoc number with me.
Please could you guide me to find out the message for that idoc number.
File   -
     XI   -
    IDoc
    Idoc number

Hi Vignesh,
If you have the IDOC number then go tto SAP ERP system and see the control record of the IDOC. Go to the Details tab of the control record.
you would see a Identification field. There you would find the message ID .
for example ...0000000000653745 79196146EE036611E1000000C0A8641B. So in the above example whatever is after space is the message id(79196146EE036611E1000000C0A8641B).
YOu copy the message ID and then login to XI. Run SXI_MONITOR.
Click on Advanced Selection Criteria.
In the Message ID field enter the message id which you earlier copied.

We are using EOP and if I run a message trace for the last hour or so, I can only seem to view the results in the browser. I do not see an option to save this report, only if it is older than 7 days. Is this possible?

there is one way of getting this information.
connecting EOP using Powershell from your system and use message trace to get the logs.

Use 'write' to display the message in the job log.
write : / log_message.
Place this statement after the block of statements in your program where you want the message to be displayed in the log.
You can see the job log in SM37 transaction.

How to specify time Spans for Message Trace in wpf Application

I had been working on this report on Message trace in Office365. I would want to give filters for Startdate and enddate from my WPF(C#) application. How can i do that.
i tried the following. When i specify them directly in the URL. they work perfectly fine but when i try to give them from the code, thats where it says value cannot be null,Parameter name: Source. What could be the problem.

Office 365 Reporting Web Service Message Trace - It says it can get the past 30 days but i can only get the past 7 days

It says Message Trace data is stored for 90 days here: http://technet.microsoft.com/library/jj723162(v=exchg.150).aspx
When running the MessageTrace report using the Office 365 Reporting Web Service it only returns the past
7 days, even though it says up to 30 days here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj984335(v=office.15).aspx.
PowerShell’s "Get-MessageTrace" cmdlet only returns the past 7 days as well. PowerShell also has
an alternative cmdlet called "Start-HistoricalSearch" which returns the MessageTrace results between 7 and 90 days old.
Is it supposed to return 30 days, or is the documentation wrong, or is their an alternative report (like
PowerShell) to get MessageTrace results for over 7 days using the Office 365 Reporting Web Service?
Note: I'm aware that the results are returned in batches of 2000 MessageTrace results.

That document is pretty old last modified March 2013 so I would say it's out of date. The reporting services are still pretty new in the current release I believe 7 days is limit for the Rest Endpoint and the Get-MessageTrace cmdlet (which is what
the more recent documentation around message tracking say) there is no REST endpoint for Start-HistoricalSearch you can see all the current endpoints by looking at the Metadata via
https://reports.office365.com/ecp/reportingwebservice/reporting.svc/$metadata
These services are evolving so new features and reports are added which is explained in
http://msdn.microsoft.com/EN-US/library/office/jj984346(v=office.15).aspx . But there is no public information on Timeframes and what reports and features are going to be added in future updates (that I know of). If you need data older then
7 days then Automating the HistoricalSearch cmdlets would be the way to do it for now.

Message Trace Report Download error

I encounter the following; "Server Error in '/ExtendedReport' Application" when attempting to download a message trace report from the Microsoft Exchange Online Application Center. Has anyone experienced this? If so, how did you resolve?

Possible reason ...
Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.

Message trace

Hi BASIS gurus,
Need your expertise on user logs or traces. here is the story one of the SAP users gave me a message now I want to trace who is responsible for that action. TCODES I used are STAD and SM21 which gave me no result. Upon my further investigation on DEV_W0 file I found out that he/she might used the function TH_POPUP. Please help I need your opinion on how to trace this.

Normally individual messages to users will be sent through FM TH_POPUP from Tcode SE37. If you want to trace which user has sent the message, then check in STAD tcode at that time when you have received the message who all executed SE37 with program name RSFUNCTIONBUILDER or SAPLSFUNCTION_BUILDER. Also, try to get the info from ST03N Transaction or user profile.

I have created the InputForm application for error handling.... In that i have created the Message Pool. A class IMessage<ComponentName> has been genrated automatically. Inside this class whether i have to write the code for create CONSTANT keys or else it will automatically create ... Because i am not getting code inside... its generating empty class.....

Few Queries regarding Message Size in XI

Hi ,
I have posted the same question before many times over but did not get a satisfactory reply.
I have many file to idoc scenarioes.
Now the file size is large .It is a CSV or a Tab-delimited file.
IT can grow upto 100 mb.
DEV has 4gb of RAM
QA and PRODUCTION have 16 GB of RAM
INTEL DUAL CORE PROCESSOR ON EACH box.
If I want to send a complete 60-100 mb file I run into "LOCK table overflow"
WE have increased the table size parameter on recieving CRM system.
recordset parameter is set for all interfaces from 500 to 5000.
Since I am not able to send a complete file I am breaking it into chunks and sending as I do not have much choice.
For certain interfaces where I am having large number of fields I am able to send only 2000 records per file for others about 14000 records per file.
In order to take care of errors like "LOCK table overflow " and to automate the process I have scheduled a report 'RSARFCEX".Otherwise I'll end up putting one file at a time and wait for it to get processed (i.e. create idocs with status 64 in the recieving system.) and this takes a long time.
I see here on sdn people are able to send a large file in one go.
Even if I try to split a file using xi ..multimapping..extended interface determination...the works et cetra ...It fails for a file of size 6mb.
That too after increasing the no. of work processes.
Besides tried to follow XI tunning parameters ...but there was no change in status-quo.Finally I am using an abap program in xi which is spillting the file (in a matter of few minutes) so that file adapter can pick it up .
I am surprised by xi system's performance .I am not using BPM .There is content conversion on sender side.
Would the experts on the forum please provide a solution.

But as per my knowledge in the IS the Pipeline services wil be done( Includes Receiver det, Interface Det, Mapping, Logical rout, Tech. routing, Call Adapter, Message Split )

Messages received at the Integration Server are processed through a defined series of steps called Pipeline Services. These pipeline services are part of Integration Engine which in turn is a part of Integration Server
Only the XI Adapter wil pick the Xi msg from Send Queue to IE.......Thats it?????/
Yes. Thats the main task of XI Adapter. It also does the SLD lookup.

then this IE wil pass this XI Msg to the IS ..... Right????????

The problem is I have created 2 Message Mappings and Two Message Interfaces
Two Messages Mappings and Message Interfaces are activated successfully, my question is which Message Mapping will execute among them(Message Mapping). If it Executes latest one Message Mapping ok, if I want to Execute Old one how can I execute that. I dont know whether we can create more than one Message Mapping, if it is possible here then can I Execute any one among all these Message Mapping help me in this problem.

hi,
in your scenarios your mappings
are executed on the basis of the interface mappings
one interface mapping can have a few message mappings
that will all be executed :
/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/01/xi-xml-node-into-a-string-with-graphical-mapping
you always use interface mappings (in directory)
so you need to check how which message mappings
are included in your interface mapping
to find out which will be used in your scenarios

iam using same message type for source and target.
in message mpping while iam testing with xml its showing error like

Structure with min!=max without mapping
can anyone help me on this.

Hi,
There will be some fields in your target structure with fixed occurances.
While doing mapping either you disable such fields or you should map it with a constant or some fields from the source structure.
While mapping from the source field please ensure that in case no values coming from the source field, you should map it with a default value.
