  • SCSM 2012 R2 Self Service Portal is supported on Microsoft Sharepoint Foundation 2013 Sp1 or not

    Hello,
I have a requirement to install Self Service Portal on one dedicated Server and found that Both the Web Content Server and SharePoint Web Parts can be installed on single Server. I want to use Microsoft Sharepoint 2010 Foundation Server as
it is free but it is not supported on Windows Server 2012 R2.
    My query are -
Can we use Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2013 Sp1 for the same purpose.
Can we install Both the Web Content Server and SharePoint Web Parts on One Computer for Self Service portal
I was referring the below link which says that Sharepoint 2013 is not supported, does it mean for Sharepoint foundation 2013 Sp1 is also not supported.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=24983
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Ankur

for background, there are actually three parts here. there is a SharePoint team site, there is the content distribution website, and there is the data access website. the data access and the content website are almost always collocated on the same servers,
since they are both IIS virtual directories. the sharepoint team site is packaged for 2010, but it's been
successfully installed on 2013 without problems.
you have a couple of options:
you can put all three web componets on the same server by using foundation 2010
you can put all three on the same 2013 server using the method above
you can put the two iisvds on a server and install the team site using the method above
you can install the content and data access services on a separate server, and then install a scrap foundation SharePoint and export out the team site and import it into your existing SharePoint site

  • Sharepoint 2013 search error - The search application 'Search Service Application 1' on server is not provisioned.Confirm that the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Timer service and Central Administration service are running on the server.

    Hi All,
I'm getting the below error in My SHarepoint 2013 search Administration page.
Crawler background activity - The search application 'Search Service Application 1' on server ""  is not provisioned. Confirm that the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Timer service and Central Administration service are running
    on the server.
and when i click on Crawl Log and content source
    it throws the below error
The search service is currently offline. Visit the Services on Server page in SharePoint Central Administration to verify whether
the service is enabled. This might also be because an indexer move is in progress
When i check the search status
Get-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceInstance, it shows all the components are online.
As of now search service application is online and search is working. But not sure why it throws the above error.
I have restarted timer service, search service in services.msc and cleared the sharepoint cache as well.
But no luck,This is happening in my prodcution environment.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Please try below mentioned steps:
    1. Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions > Look for following timer job "Application Server Administration Service Timer Job" > Disable
    2. Then open windows administrative services (services.msc), stop SharePoint Timer Service
    3. Clear SharePoint Timer configuration cache by following steps mentioned in below blog:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jamesway/archive/2011/05/23/sharepoint-2010-clearing-the-configuration-cache.aspx
    4. Start SharePoint Timer Service and give it a few seconds so that the new XML files from the location you deleted then are re-populated.
5.Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions > Look for following timer job "Application Server Administration Service" Timer Job > Enable

  • Sharepoint 2013 - Which Server Should Run Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service

We have just deployed Sharepoint 2013 and also CRM 2011..
Our Sharepoint 2013 Environment has a WFE and an APP server and we have a CRM 2011 box.
We have been getting the following error in IE when Users in CRM are clicking on the Document Link under accounts which links to Sharepoint 2013
"This Content cannot be displayed in a frame
To help protect the security of information you enter into this website, the publisher of this content does not allow it to be displayed in a frame."
It seems like it is a IE Security Issue, but I am suspecting it could be the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service.
Which server should be running the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service| WFE or APP.
Also which server should run the Windows Service: SharePoint User Code Host
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
Please have a look at the following post:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219591.aspx
As it describes, the recommendation is for both services to start it on the Web Front End servers.
    Cheers,
    Vincent

  • SharePoint Provider Hosted App (401) Unauthorized Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: The Azure Access Control service is unavailable

    Hello,
I'm attempting to get a SharePoint 2013 Provider Hosted Application working in a brand new SharePoint environment.  I've created snapshots of both my dev and the sharepoint environments along the way and have meticulously documented every step of the
way.  I've followed these instructions (among many other resources found along this journey) :
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/fp179923(office.15).aspx
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/fp161236(office.15).aspx
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/office/fp179901%28v=office.15%29
Upon package and publish of my application to SharePoint, I get a 401 Unauthorized error.  I use Fiddler to obtain the SPErrorCorrelationID to ultimately obtain the following ULS Viewer Output.  Please explain how to fix if you're able.
Please Note:  I was under the impression that a Provider Hosted Application does not use the Azure Access Control service, so I'm confused as to why my system is attempting to make this connection?
Also Note:  I've used a self signed and godday obtained certificate to successfully f5 debug my basic web.title (out of the visual studio 2012 box) sharepoint provider hosted application... so I know my certs are good.
    Here's my ULS output:

Yes, actually - I was able to resolve it.
However I don't know how, unfortunately.  I suspect it was because I needed to have the names of the certificates, defined during the certificate registration (to sharepoint) process, different.
I have a complete document that shows step by step instructions on the exact process I took to complete the provider hosted application creation, deployment and publishing.  It was a daunting task, but I finished it successfully.
If there's a way to send private message on this forum, please do so and I'll respond with a way to obtain my document.
NOTE:  I'm not all impressed with the way this forum works.  This is supposed to be a Microsoft resource and I'll be damned if I ever get a response to highly technical questions.  Completely lame.  Boooooo Microsoft.

  • Exception with regards to SharePoint Workflow Services

    Hi there,
Since today we suddenly get the following exception on our development farm:
Method 'get_IsClientValid' in type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.WorkflowServices.WorkflowServiceApplicationProxy' from assembly 'Microsoft.SharePoint.WorkflowServices, Version=15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' does not have an implementation.
We get this exception when we:
    - Open up a site
    - Open up Manage Service Applications from Central Administration
We don't get the exception when I open up the starting page of Central Administration.
Unfortunately we don't know what we have done that has resulted into this exception.
What is the root cause and is this easy to fix?

one or more configuration settings failed ...
    in the config wizard window
    and this in the log

  • Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services

This is my first post to an Adobe user forum, so forgive me if I am posting to the wrong forum, but my question relates to LiveCycle Designer ES forms.
Is anyone familiar with LiveCycle forms on Windows SharePoint Services? Instead of purchasing LiveCycle Server(?), I hope to use our SharePoint Services and wonder whether anyone here could share their experiences with SharePoint - good or bad.
    Thank you.

    Hi Iakov
    Kyle is correct.
Basically, you can host simple PDF forms anywhere - on a web server, portal, document management system, custom web application, etc.
You only need LiveCycle server if you want to:
    - prepopulate the form with some data before presenting it to the end user
    - extract data out of the form when the end user hits the submit button
    - manipulate the form in other ways, on the server, for example, verifying or applying a digital signature, extracting attachments, etc.
Kyle, can you contact me at htreisman-at-avoka.com to discuss your sharepoint plans...?
    Thanks,
    Howard

  • Scale out sharepoint server search to index server and Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application to new server

    Hi
in my single server these below service are running:
    SharePoint Server Search
    User Profile Service
    Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application
here how i scale out  Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application  to another server
and  SharePoint Server Search  to new index server.
    adil

Check here to see how to add servers to the farm:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc261752(v=office.15).aspx
What Inderjeet meant was that if you chose to install SharePoint as a single server instead of a complete farm, you won't be able to add servers to the farm at a later time. You can check if this is the case by checking the registry key he mentioned. If
that is indeed the case, there's nothing to it but reinstall the farm.
So that is why you never should choose the single server option, it locks you in and limits future options, while choosing to install sharepoint as a complete farm it's still perfectly acceptable to host it on a single server.

After Successfully having SharePoint Server 2013 Farm Installation on 2 Servers AD + Central Admin Application server, OS: win server 2008 R2 Ent SP1.
I set up the configuration for SharePoint app and Workflow Manager to work properly on the Den environment,  the time for SP1 running has come and after downloading the Service pack 1 of SharePoint server 2013 and completing the wizard, I run the SharePoint

Also I was not able to create websites like before, and the creating of new site is failed with error message :

Is there any solution to my problem with SP1 of SharePoint Server 2013, I don't think that SP1 should generate such bugs in a stable environment.

    Hi Basel,
What edition of SharePoint do you have and what patch did you attempt to install?
If you are on SharePoint 2013 Enterprise, please make sure you are installing Service Pack 1 for SharePoint Server:

  • Sharepoint services 3.0 on 2008 R2

    Looking at the docs I
don't see anywhere where it says I need MSSQL installed to do a stand alone install, but after finishing the setup I get this error:
I found this blog post which states: "By Default Network Service account is the Startup service account for SQL Embeded Edition but Network service Account does not have permission in SQL Embeded installation location(C:\windows\SYSMI) and .Net Framework
    2.0 location."
But it is for an older version of sharepoint (as 3.0 uses .net 3.0). Is this still a solution for this?

    Hi,
    Thanks for your post.
As far as I known, neither Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 can run on Windows Server 2012. Please note SharePoint 2010 SP2 and SharePoint 2013 support for Windows Server 2012.

So is there any low cost or free solution as in WSS 3.0 equivalent in Windows Server 2012 ?
I wonder if the Sharepoint Service 2010 on Windows Server 2012 is the same as WSS 3.0 in Windows Server 2003.

  • SharePoint Services 2.0 Obsolete?

We are still using TFS 2008.  That server is running Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 SP3 which I'm told is now obsolete.  Is that version still supported and - if not - what recommendations can you provide regarding an update without
    breaking TFS 2008?

Mainstream support for WSS 2.0 ended on January 13, 2009. Extended support ended January 14, 2014 (see Microsoft Support Lifecycle)
This means you can no longer get support directly from Microsoft Support. You can still receive limited support from resources such as these forums, other 3rd party forums and Microsoft Partners.
If your system is still working with minimal operatonal overhead, sticking with what you have may make sense for you.
For what it's worth, TFS 2008 moved out of mainstream support on April 9, 2013 and is currently in extended support until April 8, 2018 (again, see
Microsoft Support Lifecycle. If you're looking to upgrade my first thought would be to upgrade TFS and WSS (to SharePoint Foundation 2013) at the same time.
Note that out of the box, you cannot upgrade directly from WSS 2.0 (SP2003) to SP2013. You'll need to upgrade first to WSS 3.0 (SharePoint 2007), next to SharePoint Foundation 2010, and then you are able to upgrade to SharePoint 2013. There are third party
upgrade/migration tools you can use to go directly from 2003 to 2013, though when integrated with TFS I cannot guarantee this will work. You'll definately want to test your upgrade approach no matter the method.

  • Copy windows sharepoint services list items into another sharepoint server list

My requirement I have one windows SharePoint services 2007 site list. one SharePoint server 2013 site. 1.I have to copy data from windows SharePoint services 2007 site list to SharePoint server 2013 site list. 2.when ever data changes in windows SharePoint
services 2007 site list  data has to reflect into SharePoint server 2013 site list.
Could u pls help on this

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to copy data in SharePoint 2007 list to SharePoint 2013 list and the data in SharePoint 2013 list changes with the data in SharePoint 2007 list.
You could use JavaScript client object model to retrieve SharePoint 2007 list items and copy them to other SharePoint 2013 list.
An official documentation about how to retrieve list items:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/hh185007(v=office.14).aspx
A similar post about how to retrieve and copy list items:

And you could use SharePoint event receive to monitor the list items.
A post about how to use SharePoint event receive:
