what is the role of movement type in mm or in wms, why it is used?

Hi,
Movement means in case of MM as the movement of goods from one Plant to other or from one storage location to other.
Now, there can be different types from movement e.g. Consignment stock is being movd from one plant to other.
The operations performed by the movement are :
1. Reducing stock from one location
2. Adding stock to another location.
Different movement types can be seen in MSEG-BWART field's search help.

Questions regarding xft fonts, and awesome wm

Hi, I just tried ArchLinux yesterday and loving it!
I use JWM, but am very interested in dwm/awesome wm. I do have some questions:
1. On a thread in the forum, it is mentioned that dwm has no Xft support. How useful exactly is Xft? Would it impact on design work involving GIMP/Inkscape/Scribus?
2. Does awesome have Xft support?
3. I installed awesome, but I have no idea on what keys to use. The shortcuts are different from dwm. I tried to look for quick tutorial just to get the basics (dwm has one on their website), but seems like all documentation I found have none of that section and go straight to configuration.
Do I actually have to configure the wm before I can use it at a very basic level?
4. I would like to do some more comparison between wms, trying to find a good balance for me in regards of lightness and functions I need. However, I have no idea on what to use to keep track of cpu/memory usage for all the wms. What's a good way to do this?

Welcome to Arch!
1. The lack of xft support in dwm mostly just means that you won't get anti-aliased fonts in the status bar. Individual applications will still have the same font support they had before you used dwm.
2. Awesome uses pango for font rendering, which is even better than xft.
3. Look at the man page for default key bindings. It's more or less usable out of the box, but you will definitely want to customize it somehow.
4. A good system monitor is htop. Install it from the repos and run it from a terminal.

Need help in understanding Oracle WMS

Hi,
We are planning to implement Oracle WMS in our company. Currently we are using High Jump software for all our warehouses. Some of the warehouse functions as Cross Dock or some as Storage. Can some body give me some inputs for the following so that i can prepare a doc and present it to my upper management.
1. Some articles/training material which talks about complete functionalities in Oracle WMS( I would like to know more about Warehousing, Yard management and Customer Reporting)
2. Is there any document which talks about the advantages of Oracle WMS over HighJump WMS? (I did search in web for 2-3 days but couldn't find much info)
It would be really help if anybody help me to find outmore info on Oracle WMS.

BAPI to create Transfer order(WMS) from Material document

We have activited WMS and we have not found any BAPI to generate TO in WMS from Material document to post GR to a specific bin. Is there any BAPI available for particular operation?

Goods Receipt in Decentralized WMS

Dear Friends
Our client processes the GRN by creating a Inbound delivery for PO, Then MIGO with movement type 107 for the inbound delivery and then MIGO with 109.
Now do i process the Stock putaway in Decentralized WMS since i understand that inbound delivery is replicated in the Decentral WMS and the subsequent confirmation is done in central system upon the confirmation of TO.
The requirement is that the process of putaway in the decentral WMS must be started after MIGO -109.
Please advise me on this. Your help shall be greatly appreciated

What is the main idea for the 107 and 109? Why don't you create the PO with stock type "S" and then take the stock to your WH in this stock mode? When the goods are cleared/released you do a migo 343 to transfer the stoc kfrom block to unrestricted?
I checked out the process with 107 (where the PO has an sloc which is linked to the DWM sloc) and this is not possible.
Is this in special cases or for all inbound materials?

How to get clients connected in WMS on windows server 2008 with c# coding

Sorry to bother anyone about this question.
Can anyone knows how to retrieve amount of client connection to Windows Media Server in real time same as WMS does on server console by c# programming ?
I got logfiles of WMS in system32 directory for details but it must be off-line of all connections which will able to get those informations for doing anything,but in this case I want real time client connection
at online when a client connects to WMS that I will get amout of that client also.
I have tried to search Windows Media Service SDK to develop this on my Windows 7 OS,but I did not find that really.
Can anyone knows this,please ?

Denis is right this is actually documented in the Supported Platforms Documentation:
"Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are new platform support additions in Service Pack 3 which are only available for support on the SP3 full release install of SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise. The SP3 patch only release of SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise does not provide support for these two new platforms."

Map viewer is not able to parse WMS map request

I am experimenting with using Mapviewer to deliver WMS data using the built-in WMS support as documented in appendix D of the manual. The Mapviewer version is 10.1.2.0.2.
Using the following arguments in a browser window, I am able to receive a map image from Mapviewer (I have defined the datasource 'namn_utv' and the map 'SN8307'):

The problem is that applications able to render WMS layers do not send exactly this format (I have tried ESRIs ArcGIS version 9.1 and Cadcorp SIS Map Browser version 6.2.658). They do not specify the BASEMAP parameter or the DATASOURCE parameter, as they are Mapviewer only.
Is there a way to make Mapviewer accept standard WMS requests such as the one below? Or do I have to re-implement the WMS support myself to be able to handle such requests?

Rename your datasource to WMS.
Then omit the datasource and basemap names from the request.
See Sec D.2.1
The default data source for a GetMap request is WMS. That is, if you do not specify the DATASOURCE parameter in a GetMap request, it is assumed that a data source named WMS was previously created using the <add_data_source> element (described in Section 7.1.1) in an OracleAS MapViewer administrative request.

In material wb, LPN does reflect but quantity for the container items is not reflecting. Even though I had run the Generate LPN program for the container items.
Can you throw lite on what Generate LPN program does? I was under the impression that this program would populate the create LPN from the application.

Can you please let us know which form function are you talking about ?

How to create an LPN in WMS

Hi,
I need to understand how do you create an LPN in WMS. I have ran the concurrent program - "Generate LPN" for a container item but I don't see the LPN's reflecting in the packing workbench screen.
I understand that in the Mobile screen, it can be generate using "Contol +G" command. However, in the application - how do you create the LPN. Also, when an LPN is assigned to an item - will it reflect as an extra line in the shipping transaction form?

Misc. Issue using LPNs in WMS Enabled Org

All,
When Misc. issue txn is done in WMS Enabled Organization, application enforces to Ship all the quantity in the LPN, is there any way to ship partial quantity in an LPN apart from unpacking and performing Misc. Issue.

SD-- WMS : DO line item is cancelled even after confirmed TO

Hi All,
We are in ECC6. MM & SD linked to Full WMS.
Process: SD-WMS: SO>DO>TO>Confirm TO>PGI -->Billing
Problem: User is able to cancel the DO line item even after the TO is confirmed.
Issue: Warehouse picked the items with TO from the bin and it is confirmed in the shipping area. But SD-Shipping user is cancelling the DO line item. System should not allow this. Is ther any config setup missing to lock it?

Hi
Normally SAP does not allow to cancel confirmed transfer order. However, exception is transfer order for delivery.
If you are creating a delivery it is possible for you to remove the WM stock from the delivery with transaction LT0G. So it's nothing unusual.

WMS implementation in running system

Dear Gurus,
       I am confused because I have configured WMS as per requirement and now we are going to implement it on a running system. I will explain requirement by the following scenario.
2000 pcs stock for material A found on storage location 2301 (Invetory management) and when we implement WMS then system will not take that 2000 pcs into WMS so stock reconciliation will not tally. Is there any way to reconcile MM inventory with WMS inventory?
