Regarding Navigation in obiee 11g

Hi All,
i have recently migrated from obiee 10g to 11g.
after migration the naviagation is not working.
i have implemented navigation in 10 g in which on clicking one report it naviagate to another report also drilling down.
but in 11g it is not happening.
please help me to solve this problem.

Please check the navigation is given properly or not.
Just move to the criteria of the request and click required column by which you want to navigate. In the column properties of the request there is option naming INTERACTION in that option you will find "Add action link"-> BI content and then just select required request or the required dashboard page. it will navigate on it.

Need to hide popup menu while navigating in OBIEE 11g

Hi All,
In OBIEE 11g we use Action Link to navigate to other BI component we can add multiple navigation targets as well.
Now my requirement is to hide the popup which gets displayed when we click on the value in a column. I want that popup not to appear if there is only one target report.
Also i want to make this change to all the reports, please help me out with a generic solution for this.

In the column properties-->Interaction-->check the below check box ' Do not display in a popup if only one action link is available at runtime '
Make this for all the individual target column.
And Yes, its a kind of issue everyone facing.

after migration to obiee 11g i found union is not working correctly.
please help me to do any workaround for it.
since i am takink variance but it is not showing variance.
please help.its urgent.

CPP Assertion Error when navigating in Obiee 11g

Hi,
I have a report which uses SQL filters and I am trying to navigate from this report to another page.
And I see the following error :
Dashboard Display Error
Assertion failure: isXsiTypeSqlExpression(rExpr) at line 67 of C:\ADE\aime_bi\bifndn\analytics_web\main/project/webreport/exprformulautils.cpp
Error Details
Error Codes: ACIOA5LN
Some forums mentioned that re-creation of saved SQL filters would help but it didn't.
Has anyone faced similar errors ?

Query regarding navigation in OBIEE.

Hi,
I have a report1 having columns
a b c
I haver another report 2 with columns
d e c
I want if any value of column c in report 1 is clicked, it should navigate to report2.
Also I want all the filters selected in report 1 should be carried to report 2.
Please suggest how to do this.

I don't want column c to be prompted in any of my report.
Column c is the sales fact . I want to see the distribution of sales fact among the sales reps in my report2 where report 1 shows sales at region level.
in report 1 i have qte=r and product as prompts which i want to carry to report2 .

Regarding graph in obiee 11g

Hi All,
i have some reports that has graph. in that graphs some graph is coming and some is not coming
and giving error shown below.
Graphing engine is not responding.
A fatal error occurred while processing the request. The server responded with: oracle.bi.nanserver.fwk.exception.BISvsException: java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "05:30".
i have checked the services all are up and running.
please help me to solve the problem.

Issue was, Font been defined as 7.5 (may be font size decimal not supported ).the problem solved

Regarding ibots in obiee 11g

Hi All,
i have got one requirement from client.
he wants the report in mail. for that i configured ibots.
but they want conditional ibot .
i have seen it but not able to understand since they want condition on the value of rows not on count of rows.
please help me how to create it.

Hi,
First about the functionality of the conditional request: On the conditional request tab of the iBot you can read:
Select a request which will trigger the current iBot. This request may be refined further by creating subquery filters. The iBot is considered triggered if the conditional request returns one or more rows
This means that the delivery content of the iBot will only be sent when the conditional request returns one or more rows.
Ex:-
scheduling the iBot: you can set the recurrence of the iBot to Monthly. This means that every month the iBot will be run.
So, what if you use a conditional request in your Monthly iBot? Every month it will first run the conditional request, when this conditional request will return rows, the iBot will be triggered and will sent the delivery content of the iBot, otherwise the delivery content won't be sent.
To make it more clear: this doesn't mean that once the conditional request is met, the iBot will be run monthly forever, but every month the results of the conditional request will be checked.

Report Navigation in Obiee 11g

Hi All,
I am building a report 'A' using minus and union set operations. I need to navigate to another dashbaord page filtering all reports when a value in a particular column in report 'A' is clicked. The report 'A' appears correctly and when I click on a value it navigates to the other dashboard page, however the reports do not get filtered based on the value that is clicked.
If, however, I just include either only minus operation or only union operation in report 'A' and then I navigate to the other dashboard page all reports are filtered correctly.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue

UNION operations (e.g. UNION, UNION ALL, INTERSECT, MINUS) themselves are not passed as values at the filter level. Do your filters correspond to the UNION operations your trying to achieve? Is the 'not equal to...' filter operation a suitable alternative to the MINUS union operation?

Integrating Mapviewer and OBIEE 11G

Hi all,
I am unable to get a map to be displayed in an answers report.
I have imported Layers, Background Maps and images into Answers under the Administration - Manage Map Data
In there I am able to display a map from the menu options Edit Background map.
However when adding a map view to answers report I get the following error:
View Display Error
A basemap is required to render a map. Please ensure that atleast one basemap is defined in the spatial meta-data
Error Details
Error Codes: EMGUNIA3
Location: saw.views.evc.activate, saw.httpserver.processrequest, saw.rpc.server.responder, saw.rpc.server, saw.rpc.server.handleConnection, saw.rpc.server.dispatch, saw.threadpool, saw.threadpool, saw.threads
If anybody have a working integration, please let me know what I am missing.

on Presentation OBIEE 11g , you need to integrate MapViewer with OBIEE11g :
* when you Build Themes (Layers) using Map Builder, don't forget to add Info Columns .
Example : in Region Table , Region_ID, Name , Description
once you do that, keep in note when you add this theme (layer) in Presentation (OBIEE11g) on Administration-->Map Management --> Manage Map Data ---> Layers .. Then Add your Theme (Layer).
* Double Click your Layer (Theme) and click ( +) icon to add New BI Key , these BI Keys are same columns you added in Map Builder Info Columns (Region_ID, Name, Description) you should add them serialized exactly like how you did it in Map Builder info columns which mean don't add (Name,Region_ID,Description) ... that will may unable to view map properly.
this step above you keep adding it each Subject Areas one by one if need for map, once you finish doing this, this mean you integrate Mapviewer with OBIEE11g...
don't forget to add at lease one measure in your answer to view map properly , so that you can add PIE, BAR charts or Color Schemes...

Prompt to Report navigation - OBIEE 11g

Hello,
I've three tables (3 different requests) to be displayed in a page. Each of these tables has one identical column eg. project_name (but from different database tables).
My requirement :
1.I should have only one prompt to select the project_name at the first page
2.Only after selecting the project_name, the page should navigate to another page which displays all the three tables
Kindly let me know how can I get the prompt to report navigation done.

Hi ,
Only after selecting the prompt you have to show the reports means use the guided navigation.
Only after selectiing the Project_name , you can show your tables.
But this can be done on the same page not on other page as you needed.

Regarding print option in obiee 11g

i am getting one issue when using print pdf option in obiee 11g.
i have a report in dashboard and for displaying data in that report i have used custom format of columns.
but when i an using print pdf option , it is not retaining custom format of columns of report.
please suggest any workaround to me for this problem.

I think it is expected behavior. Try out saving as html and then saving it as pdf.

OBIEE 11g - Navigation from Hierarchy Column

Hi Experts,
I have created one Organization Hierarchy (Country --> Region --> State --> City) in the Logical Layer of the rpd and pull that hierarchy with the dimension in the Presentation Layer. In the new analysis I have created dashboard prompt with the Organization hierarchy and created a report showing Total Headcount column and Organization Hierarchy column (using selection steps feature in OBIEE 11g).
Now when I select Region from the dashboard prompt, in the report it is showing me total headcount according to my region selected in the prompt, but when I tried to navigate from the Total Headcount to see the list of employees in that particular region, I am not able to see the list of employees belonging that particular region rather it is showing me the list of total employees at the Country level.
PS - In the navigation report I am prompting Country, Region, State and City from the Organization dimension, but I am not able to prompt Country, Region, State and City from the hierarchy column which is there in the Organization dimension.
Please Help.

OBIEE 11G - Navigation:How to open in New page/new tab.

Hi All,
When I click on a link in report it opens another report on the same page. Instead I have to open the report in a new page/new tab. Is this feature available in obiee 11g version? If yes, could you please tell me how to make it possible?

Use Action Link...to open link in New Window
1.Go to edit Dashboard...
2.Select Action Link from Dashboard Objects.
3.Click the Action Link Properties and Type your Report Name in Link Text Box.
4.Select New Action Button and Go to Navigate to BI Content
5.Choose your Report from your path and click ok button
6.Enable Open Link in New Window(IMP) and click ok.
7.save and check your dashboard page...

Question regarding GO URL link with &Action=Navigate in OBIEE 11g

Hello All,
Actually I am working with the GO URL Links in OBIEE 11g.When I am trying to use the link as
&Action=Navigate&p0=3&p1=bet&p2="Time%20Periods".Date&p3=2+ '01/01/2011'+'01/31/2011'
The data is not getting filtered.It is giving me all the data which I don't need also..Is this a bug or am I doing any mistakes..Please let me know..

Actually I have a few parameters or filters and I am using those filters in the GO URL Link but that filters when I am applying in
&Action=Extract it is working properly.But When I am trying the same with &Action=Navigae it is not gining me the results what I want..

Regarding assigning permission to dashboard to a catalog group in obiee 11g

Hi All,
i have a dashboard : trainee .
i have created one catalog group that is: GroupA
now i have assign some user to it.
now i want to assign permission to the trainee dashboard to the groupA.
i tried to do that but when i am doing login obieee by using any user that has assigned to group A.
but i am not able to see trainee dashboard.
can anyone tell me the steps for doing it.
