Regarding navigation profile
what is differnce between logical links ,work centre links,direct links group, work center link group???which is used when???
Keep this in mind as you're learning the system. The Navigation Bar configuration can be daunting at first.
For me, I first came to realize that all links on the Navigation Bar are logical links. A logical link is required to access anything from the Navigation bar, whether it is a standard component, transaction launcher, etc.
Then, Direct link groups and Work Center link groups are nothing more than ways to "group" logical links and then assign them to the navigation bar so they can be accessed.
For example, In your navigation bar, you must assign Work Centers so you can see first level navigation menu items.
A work center can have a logical link itself, and does not require a work center link group (there is no second level menu items). However, if you want second level navigation, you need to assign a work center link group to the work center.
The work center link group is a "grouping" of related logical links (can have one or more).
So in essense, all you really have are logical links. Direct link groups and work center link groups are the method used to group and assign logical links to the navigation bar.

Stock overview using navigation profile in MD04
Hi,
after excuting MD04 when i using the navigation profile for the first time to view the the stock , its show all the stock batches. In between when i view the any one of the batch in MSC3n and while again excuting the MD04 and viewing stock views in navigation profile, its show the last viewed batch stock only.thanks for your input.
i checked the same it copy the last batch on the MMBE. If there is any option to remove the last batch entry in mmbe.

Import of Navigation Profile of COOIS
Hello Masters,
I have created Navigation Profile under COOIS in client where order data is available as explained under example heading at "http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/c6/c04942da51690de10000000a155106/frameset.htm".
As mentioned in above link, I tried import option in customising client via the transaction "NAVP_MANAGE" as well as through COOIS. In transaction "NAVP_MANAGE", I didn't get any value for import and in COOIS there was no list generation as there was no data in system.
So, the problem is as I was unable to import Navigation Profile into customising client from client with appication data (both clients are in same system), I can't move forward to include this into transport request.
Any input on import or transportation of Navigation Profile will be be helpful.

DevangYou might be using the program name as PPIO_ENTRY but SAP doesn't store navigation profile for that program because it has different type of navigation profiles for different type of report executions like Order Header, Component list, Item list, Operation list.
The Navigation profiles are stored in table NAVP_PROFILE use SE16N to look up it's entries, there you can see all the navigation profiles (for all the programs, both user specific and global). User specific profiles have username in username field.
For example if you have created navi profile for COHV/COOIS Order headers then the program name would be PPIOH000; Order components would be PPIOM000 etc...
Use them program names in TCode: NAVP_MANAGE -
I have created a navigation profile but when i jump from MD04 to this new screen i am getting an error message "specify atleast one restricted parameter" and it jumps back to MD04 right away. Then i selected the check box "With initial screen" under general transaction calls in config so now i can jump from MD04 to this new screen but just on the initial selection screen, I am trying to jump to the result screen and not on the selection screen . Any help be great!

you define navigation profiles for the MRP list and the stock/requirements list. Navigation profiles enable you to navigate faster and more flexibly between transactions. For each profile, you define:
a record of generall transaction calls
a record of specific transaction calls for each MRP element required
Each user can assign a navigation profile in the respective list, under the menu path Environment --> Navigation profile --> Assign or under Settings. The system then offers transactions suitable for the users work, without the user having to define the jumps.
After saving, the general transaction calls appear under the menu path Environment --> Navigation profile, and in the application toolbar. The transaction calls per MRP element appear in the application toolbar for the detail dialog box.
In detail, you define:
the number of the transaction call
if applicable, the indicator for the MRP element (only for transaction calls per MRP element)
the transaction code
if applicable, the icons
the icon text, menu text, information text
the parameters, which enable you to skip the initial screen of the transaction
the conditions, which must be given, for the transaction call to be offered (only for general transaction calls)
the application component: operational and/or long-term planning
The number of transaction calls possible is not limited. However, in the MRP list and the stock/requirements list, only the following are displayed:
the first five general transaction calls that are valid in the given context,
the first two transaction calls per MRP element that are valid in the given context.
The determining factors for the selection are the conditions entered, the application component, and the respective navigation number.

I created a new navigation profile for MD04 for purchasing in the Develpoment client. I want to move it to QA and PRD but the normal transport method is not working. Can anyone give me step-by-step instructions on how to create the transport for this Profile. I have read some documentation in the SAP Library but I don't think it is referring to this type of navigation profile. Any assistance is appreciated.

Yes I could only manage the transaction call. No specific reason as such, other than it is what users have got use to in the previous version. You know what happens when something changes!.

Assigning Navigation Profile to all users
Hello,
We have changed the transations in the Navigation Profile SAPPPMRP00 and we are trying to figure out a way to assign that Navigation Profile to all users so that they don't have to assign the navigation profile individually.
Is there a parameter ID that we can assign to all users that would assign them this Navigation Profile? Is there some other user attribute that we can assign to give them this Navigation Profile?

Go to the T. code COOIS enter the initial selection parameter then you will get the details of production order header screen in this detail screen you check the arrow type icon, this icon is form Nevegation profile select the change profile. Then select the row application tool bar. Here you will get the '+' sign like icon select the CALL TRANSACTION.

Just move to the criteria of the request and click required column by which you want to navigate. In the column properties of the request there is option naming INTERACTION in that option you will find "Add action link"-> BI content and then just select required request or the required dashboard page. it will navigate on it.

WE20 is used for partner profile setups.In other words it is here where you define the partners who will send/receive a particular type idoc.
You can set up the partner profile for either inbound or outbound idoc by giving in the following details.
Enter the partner no. and the partner type(LI or WE).
After giving the values goto Outbound parameters for outbound idoc.Give the partner role(OA,VN or any other),give the message type of the idoc.Give the receiver port and idoc type.
Similarly do for inbound idoc.
In WE20 the parner profile must be setup before you post any idoc to that partner.

2 Introduction
Configuring IDoc adapter in Exchange Infrastructure 3.0 requires some configuration on the SAP
systems, for both XI and the backend system where the IDoc message is to be sent. These steps, although
simple, are many times missed or mis-configured, causing the delivery of messages to fail.
Since IDoc adapter uses the ABAP stack, instead of J2EE, the configuration requirements are mainly in
ABAP.
Setting up IDoc adapters requires the XI integration server to be able to communicate with the backend
SAP system, and also to make sure that the Logical System Name used when posting IDoc exists on the
backend SAP system.
3 The Step By Step Solution
The basic steps for the IDoc configuration are outline below:
1. Configure SM59 on XI to communicate to SAP backend system.
2. Configure port on XI for IDoc communication.
3. Create or verify the Logical System Name on the SAP backend system.
4. Create or verify business system in XIs System Landscape Directory.
5. Verify the Logical System Name of the business system.
6. Verify or add the Logical System Name for the sender business system.
7. Create/configure the Communication Channel for the IDoc receiver adapter
3.1 Configure SM59 on XI to communicate to SAP backend system.
1. Using transaction SM59, create an RFC destination with Connection Type = 3.
In this example, the RFC destination name is NDVCLNT510.
2. Enter the logon information:
3. Test the connection by clicking on Testing connection and Remote logon.
Both must be successful.
3.2 Configure port on XI for IDoc communication.
4. Go to transaction IDX1 on XI, and create a port. In this example, the Port name is SAPNDV.
The Port name must be in the form of SAPxxx, where xxx is the system ID of the backend SAP
system.
The Client must be the client number of the backend SAP system.
Select the RFC Destination which was created in the previous step.
3.3 Create or verify the Logical System Name on the SAP backend system.
5. Enter transaction SALE on the SAP backend system.
6. Create or verify the Logical System Name. In our example, NDVCLNT510 is verified.
3.4 Create or verify business system in XIs System Landscape Directory.
The business system name for the SAP backend system must contain a valid Logical System Name. This Logical System Name is the one verified or created in the previous step.
7. In the System Landscape Directory, select the SAP backend business system. If one does not exist, then create the business system. Verify the Logical System Name.
3.5 Verify the Logical System Name of the business system.
8. In the Integration Directory, doubleclick on the business system (in our example, it is NDVCLNT510).
Navigate the menu:
Service Adapter Specific Identifiers.
If information is empty or incorrect, then it will have to be synchronized with the content of the System Landscape Directory. Follow the steps below for synchronization.
9. (Optional) Synchronization of the business system in Integration Directory to the business system in System
Landscape Directory.
Double-click on the business system in the Integration Directory.
Switch to Edit mode.
Select menu: Service Adapter-Specific Identifiers
10. (Optional) Within the dialog box, click on the button as indicated below to resynchronize.
11. (Optional) If the expected data from the System Landscape Directory is not updated, then the SLD cache may need to be cleared first.
3.7 Create/configure the Communication Channel for the IDoc receiver adapter.
15. In the Integration Directory, create an IDoc receiver communication channel.
The RFC Destination is from step 3.1.
The Port is from step 3.2.
NOTE:
There is no need to create an IDoc sender Communication Channel for XI. Instead, the backend SAP system must be configure to send the IDoc to XI.
4 Appendix
Transaction: IDX2
There are a couple of situation where IDX2 can be useful on the XI system.
1. When we want to test connection between the XI and SAP backend system.
2. When an IDoc has changed, and the meta data stored in XI needs to be update. When an IDoc is sent from the SAP backend system to XI, XI will first check to see if the meta data for the IDoc is already in its persistent cache. If not, then XI will use the configuration in IDX1 to retrieve the IDoc meta data from the backend system. If the
meta is already in cache, then it will NOT do so. Therefore, when an IDoc has changed, it is necessary to manually update the new meta data on XI, or delete it from the cache, so that the latest version can be retrieved. IDX2 is used for this purpose.
Go to transaction IDX2 and click on Create.
Enter the IDoc Type and the Source Port as defined in step #2. Click Continue.If successful, the following will show up. If error occurs, then the IDX1 configurations will need to be re-checked.

Regarding Navigation Style in UWL

I am using EP7 and SP09 . In this version, UWL iView property <b>Navigation style</b> has only two value as <b>None, Tab</b>. Here I need one more value as <b>icon</b>. When I change Navigation style as icon, it should show icon instead of Tab(For Tasks, Alerts, Notification etc.). How can I achive it?.

This isn't a configurable option as far as I know, so your only alternative is to code your own version of UWL... or possibly adapt the current UWL code if you can find the DCs to import to NWDI.

Hi All,
Can anybody have implemented custom navigation connector to resolve the issue with navigation cache. Here we are facing the issue with Navigation Cache when we are using PCD filters, there is a conflict when we use both.
What I am trying to do is I want to implement one custom navigation connector from that code I want to disable the cache for groups or roles coming under PCD filter. Can anybody please let me know is there any possibilities to do like that? if yes, could you please guide me how to proceed? I have gone through the below links but I did not get any help with those.
