Regarding OATM Migration .

Hi ,
We are migrating our production database to OATM .
How do we make sure that all
transactions to be recoverable on it. All objects have appropriate values for the logging attribute before and after the OATM migration
process to ensure that all transactions are logged and can be recovered through media recovery .
Regards.

Can you please let us know the process we need to follow for the OATM migration with standby in place You will either need to do a failover/switchover and convert the database to OATM, or rebuild your standby application/database from the source application/database once you covert it to OATM.
Thanks,
Hussein

    Hi Gurus,
I am performing OATM migration on my 11.5.10.2 applications with 10.2.0.4 database.
I see the status is 99.96% completed -

    COUNT(*)
    5067
I see there are still 5067 commands with GENERATED status and which are yet to be executed. I have been waiting for almost a day and this 5067 count never reduces further.
I even tried to restart the queue TBLMIG_MESSAGEQUE and bounced DB, then restarted OATM utility.. no luck though.
Can some one help me on this please ?
    Thanks,
    Khan

    Hi Helios,
    The issue was fixed.
All the left over commands in GENERATED status were to Enable constraint, policy, trigger, queues, etc.
I executed the post migration script to to Enable constraint, policy, trigger, queues, etc which brought the count down.
    Thanks for the response Helios.

  • Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 - OATM Migration

    Hi,
One of our client has Oracle EBS 11i(11.5.10 & 9.2.0.5.0) [upgraded from 11.0.3].
    We are upgrading to 11.5.10.2 & 11gR2
They didn't migrate to OATM when they upgraded from 11.0.3 to 11.5.10. There are 3 Non OATM tablespaces.
I did the OATM migration (Test Upgrade) after upgrade to 11.5.10.2 & 11gR2 as documented in Note: 404954.1. The Migration Progress Report showed the following:

  • Regarding the migration from mi 2.5 to Netweaver mobile

    Dear All,
We need to migrate an mi 2.5 to netweaver mobile 7.1. I have read a white paper by SAP for the same which has six step approach. Even i have read certail documents which has certain clauses like if a filter has placed on two fields in mi 2.5, that rule cannot be migrated automatically, which need to be created manually.
So i need to understand the following things.
    1. What are limitations/clauses  in the modelling regarding the migration to netweaver mobile?
    2. As there are data objects, associations, dependancies, distribution model, distribution rules in netweaver mobile, what are the corrosponding things in mi 2.5, to acheve the data distribution dynamically and depandancies between the syncbos?
    3. What are all things i need to study regarding the current implementation of mi 2.5 in terms of data modelling and mobile application?
    4. LImitations of mi 2.5/7.0 over Netweaver mobile 7.1
Can anyone please help me in this so that it will be great help for me.
    Regards,
    Kiran.

    Thanks Ajith,
This is really good piece of input. Did you get any chance to gothorugh my word document. There are couple of clarifications what i have need is mentioned in that with the screen shots.
    Clarifications are:
    1. There are filters created for certain syncbos. They seems to be dynamic filters, so where can i see in the current mi 2.5 system where these values like ME-SYNC_USER is configured. This is the field that they have used for the dynamic filtration of data.
    2. And there are no syncbos which have u201CFiltered by referencing Syncbosu201D enabled with the reference to excel and screenshot in the word document. Is this the way to look at related syncbos and if yes does it mean that there are no relations between the syncbos in the current mi 2.5 system?
    3. Even though there are entries in merep_408 table for certain syncbos but i am unable to view the syncbo exits using the transaction merep_sbuilder. It shows the exits for ZEFACTIVITY but not for the others. What does that mean, is that mean exits are not maintained for the other syncbos.
    4. Is S01 and T01 syncbos converted to Data Objects in Netweaver mobile. If they are converted, can you please explain clearly what is meaning of not supported and unable to use the capabilities of netweaver mobile 7.1, bacuse i am unable to understand.
    5. Is the laptop client O/S dependant or if we install the respective jvm then does the same client run on all O/S.
    6. While synchronization from the standard client it hits standard sync service provided by SAP, if the concurrency is more or overloaded, then what will be the alternative? In this i am not talking about load balancing. Can we do any routing to other server, is that the network configuration and any configuration done at DOE level?
I am really bombarding you with so many clarifications but can you please help in this so that it really helps me alot.
    Regards,
    Kiran.

  • Regarding Database migration to external storage

    Hello.
We are running on MS windows 2003 enterprise edition with Oracle Database 10g.
We have system with 32GB RAM and 600 GB Harddisk space on system, and we have installed SAP Solution manger and SAP Netweaver (PI) 7.0 componenet on that box. At this time we do not have external storage so we segrigate and installed SAP Solution Manager and SAP Netweaver(PI) on same box like
C:\ 120 GB Space - Contains SAP Software and Oracle Database Software
D,E,F and G: drive contains 120 GB each on every drive, which contains oralce database - SAPDatas, oraarch, saparch, sapbackup, sapcheck etc.
Now we have storage with good capacity, so we want to move all data from D,E,F and G: drive.
So how can we to migrate oracle database software to Storage.
    Waiting for your kind response.

  • EBS OATM Migration

Has anyone migrated a 300gb or larger database to OATM? Are there any known performance issues after the database has been migrated to OATM?

When running the tablespace creation scripts within the migration utility the crtts.sql is generated containing the sql statements below. It looks odd, since it is only creating 1 tablespace and altering the others. Shouldn't it create 12 tablespaces?

  • Great doubt regarding to Migration MAXDB

    Hello
We want to migrate to MAXDB and then to do un upgrade.
Current situation: SAP R/3 4.6C Plaftorm: IBM iseries V5R3
Target situacion: SAP ECC 6.0  MAXDB  on platform Windows X64
The first project will be: Migration Heterogeneous to Windows 2003 X64 /MAXDB and the second one would be UPGRADE from 4.6C to ECC 6.0
Looking some documentation and service.sap.com/PAM  we have found a possible problem. To reach ECC 6.0 we will need to have MAXDB 7.6 previously to upgrade.
    - Release 4.6C, Kernel 4.6D_EXT 64 bits, and MAXDB 7.6 is not supported for platform Windows X64
    -  Release 4.6C using Kernel 46D_EXT 32 bits in platform Windows X64 is only supported using MAXDB 7.5 64bits
So... Is there any migration path possible??? Which one???
    Thanks and regards
    Javier

    Hello Javier,
this kind of problem should be discussed in detail via an official customer call.
Would you please open a call on component: BC-DB-SDB.

  • Forte Migration - Need Suggestion regarding Forte Migration.

    Hi friends,
I need some suggestion in designing GUI.
we have an application designed on mainframes and also in forte. And lots of users life the mainframes, since they have been using for long time and it is easy for data entry and it is faster and by hitting F2/F4 keys the data entry people finish the work fast and they is incentive to do fast and more.
And we have the same application in Forte too, Forte GUI design is also great, it provides lots of data compared to mainframes, but little slower and it cannot be done in the same speed as mainframes.
In such a situation, if you have to migrate what technology would you opt and how to think about converting the console based forte application, which also provides in data entry and provides lots of information.
And it is process oriented, where we could like complete one step before going to other step and also go and modify the data entered in step1. Example, while entering the telephone order, after validating customer details, we would like to provide telephone services. But we should be also able to modify the customer information.
The reason I gave the example before, if you think about using J2EE and provide Web browser interface, which would be best and cut lots of cost and time on deployment (usually in case of Forte console based application), but major draw back would be we cannot control the users activity and you cannot back and forth and update the data. (Think about lot of Tab in Forte application.).
So, the need is for thin client and lots of Tabs and user should be able to go back and forth and real fast application client like mainframes to enter lots of data fast and provider look up for validations.
How would you do migration for such a application ?
    1.     J2EE, how would you think about providing user interface. (web browser or java console application using swing) ? Did any body of you done using swing.
    2.     .NET application. (client using ASP.NET with C# for business logic/middle tier)
Please give me some suggestion and how did you migrate under such circumstances.
I know, it is difficult to suggest without seeing the application, but please give me the high level idea. May be you much also faced similar situation.
    Thanks in advance.

NET, Swing, Web - all provide options to allow back and forth moving from one tab to the other.
However, No matter how fast the screens are in web, they are a fraction of a second slower when the browser renders the screen.
This is not controlled by programming and it is the browser that takes time. In such scenario, going for Swing may be a better option
All of them support the shortcut keys- Going to Web - you may need to forgo some of the function keys - like f5 for refresh.
You can also introduce numbers in front of values in combos - for easy input of data.
We have experience in migrating thick client to web and thick client to thick client. Please contact me if you need more info.

this might work, but... if a transport contains objects A and B, but B is not needed in 6.0 (whatever reason), only A, than you cannot go this way. On the other hand, if all required transport can be identified easily, than it could be a nice way.

  • Regarding database migration from Oracle to MS SQL

    Hi All,
In my application, the existing database is oracle. we need to migrate from Oracle db to MS SQL.
We need procedure is as below
1.export data from Oracle and keep it in a file.(.dmp)
2.Import data to MS SQL from the exported oracle file.
and vice versa from MS SQL to Oracle.
my question is- is it possible to import .bmp (oracle export data) into MS SQL.
    Please clarify me.

There are couple of options to get data from Oracle to MS SQL.
The simplest is to create a linked server in MS SQL that points to Oracle and copy data with a query like select * into my_mssqlTable from oracle.schema.table; via the linked server.
Some data types will not be supported.
That is for one time copy.
If you need a close to real time replication you can use MS replication (I would not recommend because it creates triggers on Oracle tables), or you can use GoldenGate or DataCurrents or other replication products.

  • Regarding ClearCase migration from SunOS 5.8 to SunOS 10

    Hi All,
We are in need to migrate our current ClearCase 2002.05.00 from SunOS 5.8 to SunOS 10 (UNIX)
Cam any one suggest me the best way to migrate …??
    Thanks in advance.

Since you are jumping several compiler releases and two Solaris releases, you should migrate in two steps.
    1. Get your application working with Sun Studio 11 on Solaris 8.
    2. You can now run that application on Solaris 10, or you can rebuild it on Solaris 10 and then run it.
An application built on Solaris 8 will run on Solaris 9 and 10.
An application built on Solaris 10 cannot be run on Solaris 8 or 9.
We promise upward binary compatibility, allowing an old binary to be used with a newer compiler or on a newer Solaris. But we can't promise source code compatibility because we don't want to have to duplicate old bugs in old compilers.
C++ 5.8 in Sun Studio 11 detects errors that older compilers might have missed. The rules about where to use "typename" are one example.
I would not expect the warning about typename to be generated by either of the source code lines that you show, but I can't really tell without seeing a compilable example.
You need to use typename when you use a type that depends on a template parameter. Example:
    template <class T> class C1 {
    public:
        typedef T Type;
    template <class T> class C2 {
    public:
        typename T::Type a;
C2< C1<int> > c2i;If in C2 you do not specify typename, the compiler does not know whether T::Type is intended to be the name of a type. If it is not a type, the code is always invalid. The C++ rule is that if an an identifier is not known to be a type, it is not a type. You use typename to tell the compiler that T::Type is supposed to be the name of a type.
