Regarding  planning strategies

Hi,
Dear Experts,
I have some confusion about strategies which i want to discuss which is as follows,
For MTS -10
      MTD-20
      Production with final assemble-40 etc.
Is is correct that i am using for make to stock,
for ROH-10, SFG-10, FG-40.
if not please tell me what are the others which i have to use also want to know more about how a industry choose a planning strategy.
Your suggesstions are weelcome.
Thank you.

Hi,
Make to stock: These are the following strategies 10,30,40 and 70 used in MTS
In a made-to-stock scenario, the incoming customer requests are fulfilled from the inventory. The made-to-stock products are normally the consumer products or products which have a monopoly market and are sold out of the existing inventory. Such products are developed and produced continuously over the years till the product comes to the end of its life cycle.
In such scenarios, the shop floor or the production team never knows, for whom the product is being produced. The customer demands and the market situations can only be forecasted and used as a basis for future production. In SAP the forecasted quantity is evidently used in a form of planned-independent-requirement.
Made-to-stock production quantities are entered in SAP through the use of u201CPlanned independent requirementsu201D (transaction code MD61) which are subsequently planned by SAP MRP run. The planned independent requirements can be entered manually or the requirement can be pulled in from forecast or it can be pulled in from the sales and operation information structures (information structures which carry the sales information at levels defined by the organization).
Make to Order:  Strategy no 20 and 50 used in MTO
In a make-to-order scenario, the incoming customer requests are accepted and produced thereafter and ultimately delivered to the very customer. The example of such a scenario can be high end products like jewelry or high end equipments or very costly product. These products are normally configured by the customer and the order is produced according to the customer requirements or by the design provided by the customer. The Sales order is created or configured according to the customer requirements and passed on to the production team.
In such a scenario, the tracking of the sales order from its creation to planning to production to inventorying to delivery can be easily tracked unlike in made-to-stock scenarios, where the incoming sales orders are not tracked in the plant, but are fulfilled by the existing stocks.
Coming to your question, using of strategies is purely depends on the business requirement. If it is make to stock, then you can use the same way you have posted (ROH-10, SFG-10, FG-40)
Hope it clears your doubt.

  • Question : Different planning strategies in  SAP PP

    Hi PP gurus ,
    Help me in understanding purpose with suitable example different planning strategies say  Strategy 10 , 11 , 20 , 30 , 26 , 40 and 50 . Find below an
example for which how the above said strategies will act wrt .
Ex :  You have  Unrestricted stock of  say X  = 100 pcs  and stock in quality
             inspection  is X = 10 pcs .
             You have  PIR ( X ) = 100 pcs , Production order( X ) = 50 pcs ,
             Sales order( X )  = 150 pcs , Production order against sales order (X) =150
             pcs , Inprocess (X) = 30 Units , sales order stock (X) = 25 units .
           Thanx in advance
           Regards,

    Raj,
Have you gone through the help doc for planning strategies:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/cb/7f9b7043b711d189410000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
    In overall terms:
    In make to stock - 10, 11, 40
In MTS the general stock and general prod orders in warehouse are considered incalculating the net requirement. The diff between 10 and 11 is that in 11 irrespective of Warehouse stock prod takes place as per Planned Ind requirements. But in 10 the warehouse stock is considered.
    In MTO (20/ 50):
The sales order stock and prod order w.r.to sales order aone is considered.
Hope this will give you an overall idea.
    regards

  • Planning Strategies to Stock - Consuming the forecast (PIRs)

    Hello,
I want to use planning strategies 10 or 40 (to Stock) but I have a doubt about the funcionality of "Consuming Forecast"
What happens in strategy 40 or 10 when the sales orders/Goods Issues will not consume the total forecast in a specific month (PIRs) ?
What happens to the PIR of that month?
How does this effect the planiing funcionality in the upcoming months?
    Thanks for any reply,
    Aart

    Hi,
The consumption of the PIRs is controlled by definition in MRP View of the consumption logic.
There you can say if it consumes in the past and/or future, and how long into each direction.
Unconsumed PIRs in the past need to be adjusted (there's a transaction for that).
Since both 10 and 40 are MTS, so if at the end of the month there are PIRs left that were not consumed, normally you should have the relevant quantity against that plan as stock. So, as I said, you adjust the unconsumed PIRs, and the stock is carried to the next period, and covers (in part) the next month's PIR (plan), and so on.
This way, if you sold less than was planned, but produced it to stock, it is not wasted, but will be used to produce less in the following periods.

    Hi
    Thank you for your post.
The reason why your contacts didn't display is currently the Tamil language is not supported by the Windows 7.5 OS and we do not have any information if this language will be supported in the future or not. The current list of supported languages are:
Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian (Bokmål), Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Swedish.
In regards to being a smart phone, these come from a variety of manufactures using a variety operating systems each having there own unique way of functioning and features and as such it is the responsibility of the consumers to make an informed choice on what device would suit them based on specifications of the device which includes hard ware or software. There is no unified smartphone requirements as each use's different operating systems.
So when purchasing a new device it is advisable to do some research on what device would suit your needs and if need be to speak to your local authorised mobile phone retailers for there expert advice. If at the point of purchase you were mis-advised and told that the Windows OS did support the Tamil language then this is something you will need to go back to the point of purchase otherwise it is your responsibility to make sure you choose a device that fully suit your needs.

  • Issue regarding Planning layout is not getting rendered and is dumping at : CL_RSDRC_TREX_QUERY_LAYER ~ _GET_PARTPROVS_WITH_TREX_PART in SAP TPM IP

    Gurus,
I am facing an issue regarding SAP TPM IP ( HANA)
    I have 3 Infoproviders
Planning infocube, Planning DSO1, Planning DSO2 and i created multiprovider and added these 3 infoproviders into it. I have created Aggregation level on multiprovider. Created Bex Input ready query on Aggregation level.
Issue is  Planning layout is not getting rendered and is dumping at : CL_RSDRC_TREX_QUERY_LAYER ~ _GET_PARTPROVS_WITH_TREX_PART.
I tried debugging it and found it is trying to read   i_r_pro -> n_ts_part. It is populated with only 3 values (i.e. 2DSOs and 1 Cube), whereas <l_partprov>-partprov is referring to Aggergation level, hence read statement isn't successful, it is dumping.
The class CL_RSD_INFOPROV_CACHE->GET() method is trying to populate the N_TS_PART.N_TS_PART uses P_R_INFOPROV table which seems to be already populated.  So, I debugged all the below methods to find out how the P_R_INFOPROV but couldn't find any clue.
Can any one help,it would be really help.
    Thanks
    Ashok

    Hello Gregor,
On the launch of planning layout it throws an error message:
    Planning is not possible RSCRM_IMP_CORE008.
When I debugged, i got to a point wherein
particular Real Time Planning DSO is
not getting retrieved under the MultiProivder in below class.
Class: CL_RSCRM_IMP_ACTIONS_SERVICE, Method: GET_INFOPROV is not
returning the real time Info-Provider Name(i.e. Planning DSO)
    underlyingthe Multiprovider.
I've also tried to run the report mentioned by you for the Multiprovider but issue still exists.
Let me know, if you have any pointers on this topic.
    Thanks,
    Jomy

  • Regarding Planning function

    Hello,
I have a scenario to fill the plan values of some quantity key figure back to the  planning cube after manually changing it in the plan query.
My plan query displays the data aggregated for 0calmonth.
Now when i changes the value of this quantity field it should be saved in the cube distributed accoring to the different characteristic values.
For this i thought of using distribution by key planning function.
But i could not use this as there are about 5 characteristic in my cube and for every characteristic combination this value of distributed quantity need to be filled.
    How can this be done?
    Regards,
    Pratighya

    Hello,
could you please elaborate the solution.

  • Urgent: regarding planned order status

    hi,
i want to have tcode in which it should display planned order status in which details about whether it is converted to purchase requsition or production order etc..
plzz help me out in finding dis tcode as it most urgent to me.
if find useful he or she will be definately rewarded.

    Dear Ric.S,
If your procurement type for the material is X - Both Procurement typesin MRP2
view, then after MRP run Planned orders are obtained, only these planned orders
you can convert either to Production order or else Purchase Req.
So check in MD04 or MD16 for all the planned orders.
CO40 - Individual conversion of Planned order into Prod.Order.
CO41 - Collective conversion of Planned order into Prod.Order.
MD14 - Individual conversion of Planned order into Purchase Req.
MD15 - collective conversion of Planned order into Purchase Req.

    Thanks in advance
    Best regards,

    Hi,
We have manual layouts to input data in bps. planning functions are used to modify or calculate results from the entered or already available data in the cube.

  • Regarding Planned Order Changes

    Hi gurus,
I have a question, it's kind of urgent.
The scenario is: If i have a demand and ran MRP, it creates planned orders, so as dep.req will be created for components, which are converted to Preq and PO's. At this point if i make changes to my demand i.e. reduce or increase the previodu demand and run MRP again, what happens to the PO's already got created?
Is there any way to tackle this scenario? i mean, user exits etc.. or any other solutions..
Thank you and waiting for your valuable responses,,
    Sekhar

    Sekhar,
    What Abhi says is right.
But if you want an automatic solution then you need to write a program which can be executed after MRP run. You need to read the stock requirements list after the MRp run and get the excess quantity. Then check if any PRs or POs exit. If exist then include a BDC in the program to chencge the qty so that excess is made 0.
The function module which gives the STock requirements list into an internal table is <b>AUFBAUEN_MDPSX_ANZEIGEN</b>. From this table you could read the indivial line items that make the receipts and issues.

  • Regarding Planning functions

    Hi,
I need to understand an existing application,we have a lot of planning functions and webinterfaces.I would like to know the functionality of the planning functions and the global planning sequence upon executing the data.
When ever i execute the planning functions i get 0 records read and 0 records generated ,Can you please help me with respect to how i can understand the planning fucntions functionality by executing the data physically.
    points will be assigned.
    Thanks,
    Subha

    Hi,
Open the planning folder in display mode and see what are all planning functions and planning sequences you have and their attibutes. in the sense, whether they are running on opening of the layout or by clicking a button or on save. Then based on that execute the planning functions one by one in sequence in trace mode so you can the data exactly on which function is running. Execution in trace mode will show all the records those are accessed, changed and generated.
    Hope this helps.

  • Need a help regarding planning layout

    Hi,
I am designing a planning layout in OPO1. I have defined a column for Cost Eelemnt and next four columns with Period and Fiscal years, for these each column in the header line, i typed "&$1". Also created a Total Forecasted column for the sum of these four columns. While Saving the layout getting error as "Text variable &$1 has an invalid replacement rule." When checked the message, under procedure it says "If you want the replacement to occur as specified, you must define the missing characteristic in the layout. Otherwise enter a characteristic which has already been selected."
It would be great, if any one can tell about defining the missing characteristics in steps.
    Regards,
    Naren.

    Hi Sampath,
Planning layouts are basically used for planning the costs, here you can define user defined layouts ana assign the same to planner profile..
after that, you can default the planner profile KPO4 and run the t-code CJR2 to plan the costs.
Basically it is used for cost planning

  • Planning strategies..

    Hello PP Gurus
    need a help!
My requirement ..I want to plan like below...
As son as sales order is coming it should see the current stock ..and if its not fully caters the sales order qty..it should generate the requirtement....
I know ..this can be done with stretagy 40
Now the key thing..i want tht this requirement should be booked as sales order stock which i am unable to do this with PS-40..
Can someone give me an idea which stretagy to use..or i should make a custom one..pl let me know the parameters for this..
    thanks..

    Hello Sam,
As you said, this requirement can not be fulfilled by Strategy 40 or infact with any other standard strategy..
How about allocating the existing stock to sales order stock (Special stock) immediately after receipt of sales order..
Yes, I agree that this may be transactional overhead on the end users...

  • Generating Indep Reqs rather than Dep Reqs from Planning Strategies

Is there any way when using a Strategy 50/52 to generate Indep Reqs rather than dep reqs for components.?
Can this be achieved by using strategy 70 at the component level ? - I am not sure this can be done.  It seems to always give Dep Reqs ?
If so what are the settings ?
I am not sure this can be done.  It seems to always give Dep Reqs ?
Am I correct that unless you plan at component level and use strategy 70 you cannot generate Indep Reqs they will always be Dep Reqs?
Just to be clear I am not after a MTS scenario here (i.e. 40 ) but rather a Sales Order driven demand so 50/52.
So Mat A FG would be a 50/52 and Component X would be set up ith a 70 - unfortunately this gives dep reqs not indep reqs?
    any thoughts appreciated

    Milton,
Is there any way when using a Strategy 50/52 to generate Indep Reqs rather than dep reqs for components?
I don't really know what this means.  Independent requirements by their very nature are not generated by other requirements, they are Independent.
Independent requirements are mostly created as follows
    1.  Manually
    2.  Copy from other independent requirements
    3.  Copy from a Material Forecast
    4.  Copy from SOP
    5.  Copy from Flex Planning
You could create a Z program that would create them as well.

  • Need info regarding planning adapter for HAL

    Hi all
We are using 9.3.1 on windows machine, I am wondering for HspJsHome.properties file where I can check the port number for RMI .
i just want to double check the port no for RMI is registered in planning or not.
I am unable to connect planning adapter with planning server, to my surprise i am unable to see HspJSHome.prper file in
    Hyperion\HyperionPlanning\AppServer\InstalledApps\Tomcat\5.0.28\ HyperionPlanning\webapps\HyperionPlanning\WEB-INF\classes
we are using tomcat I am unable to see the folders from Hyperionplanning\webapps I didn't find them , after 5.0.28 i have only two bat files of start and stop planning bat files, and also I do have only one folder with name InstallableApps not InstalledApps ...in the above given path.
Did I make any mistake in installation.
I already created the planning applicattion and initialized the wrkforce and capex too...
    regards
    Mar

    Hi,
Version 9.3.x does not use the HspJSHome.properties file, all this information is now stored in the relational database for the planning system.
    Cheers
