  • Is PBNW certification mandatory before SAP xApps certification

    Hi
We are going to develop an composite application by using the SAP composition tools. It fulfils the main requirements of Powered by SAP Netweaver, say running on SAP Netweaver AS and using EP as user interface. my question is
Is it mandatory to have PBNW certification first and go for SAP xApps certification next?
    or
Both certifications can be possible at the same time?
    or
If not what is the time gap for each certification?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Guru

    Greetings Guru,
Passing anyone of the 6 options listed below will get you to "PBNW" status:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn?rid=/webcontent/uuid/ab919ce1-0601-0010-4384-f25a892e0dea [original link is broken]
You are going for Option 6, "Packaged Composite Application", which will confer upon you the STATUS of "PBNW" once you pass.  There is no separate testing.  It is only a "status" and you can place SAP's PBNW logo on anything you want.
    Does that clarify things?

  • PBNW certification

We are going for PBNW certification of our application.
I had deployed application in J2EE engine using deploy tool. For EP-BP certification i had created URL iview pointed to the deployed application URL.
    1. created role
    2. created workset
    3. created page
    4. created URLiview
and done all the assignments correctly.
I would like to know the approach which i had followed is correct or not.
If the approach is wrong can any one guide me how to go about it.
    Kindly reply ASAP.
    Thanks in advance.
    Prasad

    Dear Prasad,
Pure URL iViews would indeed not qualify for EP-BP certification. The issue is that with this method it is not possible to give your iViews the portal Look&Feel, which is a mandatory criterion for certification.
However a good alternative would be to use the so called "Application Integrator". This also allows you to easily integrate an URL into the portal as an iView. In addition it offers methods to pass the name of the currently used stylesheet as well as other parameters like e.g. user mapping information to this URL.
You can find a good documentation about the AppIntegrator here: http://help.sap.com/bp_epv160/documentation/How-to_Guides/25_HowToUseAppIntegrator_en.pdf
    Hope this helps!!

  • Netweaver (Basis) Certification

    Hi,
Planning for Basis Certification. What is the diff betwn. C_TADM51_70 (90 questions) & C_TADM51_04 (120 questions) certification? Which is preferred? Is the study material same for both?
How is the pattern & passing % of certification? Any negative marking....
How to prepare for this certification?
    Regards,
    S Madhavan

    Hi Madhu,
As the course description, C_TADM51_04 is for SAP Consultant Certification, Technology Consultant SAP NetWeaveru201804 while,
C_TADM51_70  is for SAP Certified Technology Associate - System Administration (Oracle DB) with SAP NetWeaver 7.0
No doubt, C_TADM51_70 is the latest offering from SAP Eduction, but does not cover in depth of the application and database areas.
I passed C_TADM51_04 about a year back, this covered ABAP, JAVA WAS and Oracle database technology. These exams are online and very tight on timelines, it was in 2 parts, the first covers SAP WAS (ABAP + JAVA) and the 2nd was for Oracle database. If I remember right, the passing for both sets is over 70% each. the questions are tricky and you need to have hands on practice on the systems and SAP study material covering all the topics listed.
    All the best.
    Cheers,
    Nisch

  • Regarding BI in Netweaver 7

    hi
what is the relationship map between BI, netweaver, ECC ?
    jj

    Hi
NetWeaver is the technology that SAP solutions are currently build upon. There are a number of SAP solutions that are provided within the NetWeaver umbrella, eg. MDM, Enterprise Portal, BI, etc. SAP R/3 (or other names being ERP, ECC, etc) are all the enterprise solution for SAP. They are built on the NetWeaver platform as the underlying layer. So, keep R/3 separate from NetWeaver. One is the enterprise software and the other is the technology layer.
    BI:
Business intelligence (BI) is a category of applications and technologies for gathering, storing, analyzing, and providing access to data to help enterprise users make better business decisions. BI applications include decision support systems, query and reporting, online analytical processing, statistical analysis, forecasting, and data mining.
    www.informatica.com/solutions/resource_center/glossary/default.htm
Normally describes the result of in-depth analysis of detailed business data. Includes database and application technologies, as well as analysis practices. Sometimes used synonymously with “decision support,” though business intelligence is technically much broader, potentially encompassing knowledge management, enterprise resource planning, and data mining, among other practices. Business process engineering: The analysis and re-design of business processes and associated technology systems, with the goal to eliminate or reduce redundancy and streamline interactions.
    it.csumb.edu/departments/data/glossary.html
SAP R/3: This is the default database or they refer it as the R/3 system which comes with SAP system.
mySAP: is the name of the suite of applications.
SAP Netweaver: is the Latest platform from SAP which supports Java development.
For J2EE professionals the entry point in SAP is SAP EP (Enterprise Portals), SAP XI (Exchange Infrastructure, now renamed to PI ). You could also try SAP BI (Business Intelligence).
SAP EP is portal development which is similar to Java Web development. SAP XI is more for integration technology. SAP BI is analytical domain similar to COGNOS.
    Hope u got some information

  • NetWeaver Professional Certification

    Hi Guys,
I am planning to take up professional level certification P_ABAP_GUI70 and/or P_ABAP_SI_70 in the UK. The areas of competency as prescribed/required by SAP are fairly vast and exhaustive. I have covered many of the prerequisite topics in varying levels of details whilst working in projects for the last 13 years.
I was wondering if anyone, who has attempted/completed these exams, please share their experiences as I can't see much on this topic in SDN.
    Appreciate your responses.
    Regards,
    Venky

I do not see much relevance to go to professional certification, if you have alredy passed Associate Exam.
More or less the syllabus is the same (meaning that what you have read for associate exam) - again you need to go through with additional two additional materials TZNWIM & ADM200.
But again if you want to show in your resume that you are certified associate and certied professional security consultant, then you can go ahead, but people are now a days not much bothered for certification. I personally feel, since you have one, it could be sufficient.
I could not see any certification on GRC.

  • Regarding Project Managment Training and Certification

    Dear All,
I am interested in Project Management Certification.
Is there any different courses/certification available for Project Management related to SAP   or   I can get the training for PMP certification from PMI approved training institute and appear for examination.
Request you all to please guide me for the same.
    Regards,
    Nirav Bhatt

Good question. The C_PM_70 or Associate SAP Project Manager certification is geared specifically for practitioners that have existing industry certification (or work towards one - as most classes in the curriculum award PDUs). So the short answer is yes I would recommend you looking into this certification.
    As to your questions:
    1. Yes
    2. Currently the C_PM_70 course curricula is predominantly classroom. We are working on moving the courses to e-learning mode with our SAP Education teams. We should see key classes becoming e-learning based in 2013. We had used this model internally and have very good feedback from practitioners.
    3. We have seen some of our PMs prepare for the exam by studying the methodology directly by reviewing it in detail. The only publication that is in the market and discusses ASAP 7 is the book 'Real-world BPM in an SAP environment' by SAP PRESS. It provides overview and description of the methodology, but does not go into the detail you will need in the exam.
    4. The C_PM_70 curriculum is built for all experience levels and from our internal adoption I can say that key courses most experienced PMs needed were Solution Manager course and ASA380 as they cover the core of the exam. We also recommend to do either self study of Run phase if you have less experience in ALM and Operations topics.
    I hope this helps.

  • NetWeaver 2004 and NetWeaver 2004s Certification

    Dear all,
Would like to take exam on NetWeaver 2004 Web AS for Oracle.
Going to take it in March or April.
Just wondering how long is this Netweaver 2004 going to last for? I saw from the marketplace that 2004 is the lastest certification you can get on Netweaver WEB AS. And when do we have 2004s WEB AS exam? Don't want to take the exam that is going to expire soon.
Appreciate if someone can tell something about this.
    Thank you.

  • Websphere to netweaver crossover certification

I developed in websphere for 3 years now, and want to expand my focus to netweaver.
According to SAP, netweaver and Websphere are closely related.
I looked for a course at sap/education, to do that crossover coursework, but found only 20-day courses involving a lot of topics that I've covered intensively in a Websphere-setting.
Does anyone know of a course which caters to my needs ?

    Hello,
Generally we can enable one plugin in NWStudio ,
    by,
u just copy that plugin into the plugin directory of the Developer studio installation folder ..(c:\program files\SAP\JDT\plugin.. in windows )
(this directory contains the entire plugins used by Studio).
Most probably u will have one plugin.xml.<something> in ur  downloaded plugin folder. u just need to rename that to plugin.xml.
    then restart the studio..
u will get that option ...
Could you plese give me the information regarding the download?.
Where from u download that migration kit..?
