Regarding Presentation services in obiee 11g

Hi All,
i am getting a strange problem.
the presentation services starting again and again.when i login it the services goes down and then automattically started.
this is happening again-2.
please help on this problem.

I will give you some inputs.
Before doing anything take backup please --- Don't' forgot.
First of all kill all the obiee related services and clear the logs also then start the all services newly.
If still the problem present please check your logs and post the error in the blog, will try to help you.
I have faced similar issue long back, I have followed same thing it's working fine.

with the same files from a backup or from another working instance.
3.Restart all OBIEE services.

Unable to sign in presentation services in OBIEE 11g

Hi All,
I had installed OBIEE11g. Installation gone fine. all the services are up and running except scheduler.
I am able to login to Weblogic console and Enterprise manager, but I am not able to login to Presentation services. When I try to login it says Unable to Sign In (An Invalied User Name and Password).
Can any one guide me to overcome the issue.

Start BI Services as Windows Service in OBIEE 11g

Hello All,
We need to Automate the Start BI Services in OBIEE 11g.
The options that were tried from my side to achieve the same are as follows:
1) Creating Command files for Admin_Server and BI_Server
2) Creating Utility files installSvc_Admin.cmd and installSvc_BIServer.cmd.
3) Created the Boot file.
4) Ran the Command files.
Still i am unable to automate the Start BI Services. I have to manually Start the BI Services whenever i login to the RDC.
Pls help.

The batch files should be able to solve your problem.
Can you post your batch file code here for the start up script? I'll see if I can help you troubleshoot.

Presentation Variable in obiee 11g

Hi all ,
I had a dashboard report with year , quarter , month and order type name as prompts .
Now my client requirement is , when order type name is "Ord" , the reports with order type name starting with 'ORD" should be displayed.
In simple i know we will use " Like" operator .
But now my problem is we have to assign a presentation variable for order type name.
So can some one tell me how to add a presentation variable in OBIEE 11g , i tried in web , but none of it helped me to finish the job ,, since i am very new to obiee can some one please explain me in non technical language

Yes i will edit dashboard prompt and assign a like operator and will save the prompt , but when editing the report , you said to apply a filter *LIKE @{presentation_variable}{default_value}%*
In the above what will be in place of presentation_variable and what should be in default_value.
I have tried it in this way : Like @{Sales Order Lines Order Type Name} , where Sales Order Lines Order Type Name is my dashboard prompt .
but it didn't worked when i have given 'Ord' in dashboard prompt the error says: Sales Order Lines Order Type Name is LIKE (pattern match) ord

I have few Questions on webservices usage in OBIEE 11g(11.1.1.7.0).
Can we use/invoke the web service in OBIEE 11g?If yes,please provide me details.
If we install OBIEE 11g ,can we get the BI publisher as free product or do i need to configure anything?
Can i use the Webservices with BI publisher?If yes,then what is the difference between OBIEE 11g usage and BI publisher usage?

Error in starting BI services of OBIEE 11g

while starting the BI services for OBIEE 11g. After entering the the user name and password for weblogic server. Iam getting as wls.alive. It is not proceeding and the process stops. The obiee page is not opening.

Seems your database listerner and opmnctl is down....first start these in your services pane and then try starting your BI server....but keep in mind close the admin tool if it is open .

Issue with Presentation Hierarchy in obiee 11g

Hi Guru's
I am using a presentation hierarchy in obiee 11 g, but it is behaving weirdly when expanding the hierarchy
for example i have a hierarchy for languages when i expand one country in the hierarchy all the countries which has similar childs are getting expanded
for Example Parent A B C D
under A i have 1, 2,3,4, under B i have 5,6,7,8 under C i have 9, 10 ,11, 12 under D i have 1, 13, 14, 15
so when i expand A in answers D is also getting expanded as i have 1 as common value in both the parents.
can some please help me how to fix this, as the user does not like this expansion

Unable restart bi services in OBIEE 11g

Im unable to get the web anlytics page of OBIEE 11g after the modifications done for RPD in online.
I restart the BI server from EM not at all getting 100%up.Status is showing as 80% up and 20% down.
And i started manually BI services but still getting same error.
Can any one help on this.

Auto start BI Services for OBIEE 11G

Hi,
We have installed OBIEE 11.1.1.7 on Windows 2008 64 bit operating system and we have restarted the server after successful install.
Now the issue is OBIEE is not accessible after reboot,it is running only if i run the Start BI Services under All Programs --> Oracle Business Intelligence --> Start BI Services and
this not accessible once i log off from the server.
I don't want very time login and start the obiee using all programs,instead i want to install a Windows service that will all run the BI Services,so that Users can access the OBIEE independent of
my login.
I tried many times installing the services for Admin and BI Server but even though the services are install/running successfully,but still not able to access the OBIEE URL.

Error while creating Bi presentation service in obiee(11.1.1.3)

Im using Jdeveloper(11.1.1.5) and OBIEE(11.1.1.3)
I created a ADF application in Jdev and when I try to create a BI presentation services I'm getting the following error message.
*Connection attempt failed.*
*java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to retrieve logon token. This version requires a BI build that implements the version 7 SOAP interface. Please verify that you are using the correct BI version.*
does the creation of presentation service in jdev(11.1.15) work only with OBIEE(11.1.1.5) and not OBIEE(11.1.1.3).

The SOAP interface released with OBIEE 11.1.1.3 is version 6 (v6) as you can see from its WSDL URL.
This would leave one only to believe that the SOAP interface released with OBIEE 11.1.1.5 is version 7.

One of your services is not running. Are you able to login to the Enterprise Manager Console:
http://serverrname:7001/em (or whatever port WL is deployed on)
If so, you will see what is not running.
If you are not able to pull this URL up, then WebLoigc is not running. 11g on Windows only installs 2 out of box services, "Process Manager" and "Node Manager". You still need to start WebLoigc or create it as a windows services. From there you can access the EM and manage all the other services.
