Regarding project activity scheduling based on the personnel resource

hello all,
I need one help from you guys. Before explaining the problem let me tell you all the scenario. We are implementing Project system Version ECC 6.0. We have a requirement of our client that the activity duration to be changed according to the availablity of the personnel resources attached to it. We don't have HR implementation here. I have already tried with the help of calculation key setting to 'calculate Duration' to get the activity duration automatically. But customer wants as per the availability of the personnel, activity duration should get adjusted.

Hi,
I do not think it is possible. SAP's logic is to do capacity planning based on the 'work' and 'activity duration'. Hence the requirement of deciding "activity duration' based on available capanity (read man power) is just the opposite of the fundamental logic.
Further, project, by basic defintion, is an entity with definite start and end dates. Hence if you allow available capacity to decide the duration of activity and consequently the project duration, the project end date becomes indefinite and a totally dependent entity.
I do not think any system will support it.
This, I want to clarify, is based on my limited understanding, and not based on any SAP documentation

I have a scenario to calulate the Activity Rate based on the employee Salary who's Time will be captured in CATS.
Eg: One Employee working 2hrs in Admin dept,4 hrs for Rec dept, & 4 hrs for HR dept generally costing will take place on the fixed price from the controliing side. In Our scenario the activity rate should be calculated on the Employee salary we found one user exit Using an SAP enhancement (CATS0002). need to explore on this before that If any one has some good solution or suggestion please suggest.

you can do the coding in the said user exit , and have the hourly rate calculated by taking data from infotype 8 , 14,15, etc where ever the releavant fixed salary components you are maintaining.
But the issue would be if you go for retro accounting for any of the employees , the cost uploaded in the existing items would remain uneffected also if there are some adhoc earnings that are given later point in time after the rate calculation for a particular day has already been done and data has been passed to co or ps etc. There would be definately a issue for the change in master data happening at later point in time.
You may consider using some third party solutions which are available for this purpose.

Process order scheduling based on in-house production time.

I have following problem. My SAP system is configured in that way that process oedrs are schedulled based on times saved in master recipies. When I input data to in-house production time in master data for materials and make new process order, this time is not
taken into account.
Where I have to change configuration to use in-house production time from material master data to make scheduling process orders.

Process Order /Production Order scheduling ( Lead Time Scheduling ) based on the Operation timings in the routing not based on the Material Master In house Production Time in Work Scheduling View .
If you are loking for Basic Date Scheduling then it will happend based on material master , scheduling margin key at material master level .
It depends the selection of Schedueling indicator while excetion of MRP in MD02 .
In case of Process order specifically , you need to schedule the Master Recipe and check whether operations are getting scheduled, if it is not then you need to first the problem, which may be because of wrong "Forumla" or paramater assigned in resource or the resource is not maintained for Finite scheduling (capacity header).
Master reciepe can be schedule in the change transaction C202, and from menu you would find the option to schedule the recipe .
Also check the OPU3/OPU5-Define scheduling parametres wether scheuling , adjust scheduling , scheuling type , logs all are in place .

Could I update the schedule date by the add-in software OpenPS?

I create the R/3 PS WBS using the add-in software OpenPS from MS Project at the beginning. But according to our company working business , I can't update the WBS schedule date by updating the activity schedule date under the WBS, i can only update the WBS schedule. (so I have done some set-up and set the duration of every activity is zero). I hope I can update the schedule date by the add-in software OpenPS from MS Project during the R/3 system is online running(NOT the beginning).
We know the adjustment of schedule in MS Project is very easy and convinent. So if I adjust the schedule in MS Project, and I update the schedule in R/3 PS by the add-in software, then everything will be good.
But maybe this operation will have a bad effect on the running R/3 system.
Please give me some advice and practice experience.

You really MUST try things BEFORE saying that they are wrong.
The CDHDR table DOES store the creation date AND time because the system treats the creation as a Change.
If you simply enter ME51N as the transaction code in SE16N for table CDHDR you will see that it is YOU that is wrong.
Please do try to verify your comments before challenging Seema in this way, who has provided a good and workable solution.

Creating Outbound deliveries based on the sales order schedule lines

Dear all.
Is it possible to create outbound delivery documents based on the sales order schedule lines?
Eg:
Let's say I have sales order line item 10 with below mentioned requested delivery dates in its schedule line level.
30.07.2009
10.08.2009
20.08.2009
30.08.2009
Will it possible for me to create different deliveries for those 4 schedule lines individually? I should be able to create 10.08.2009 delivery without clubbing 30.07.2009 delivery with it.
Appreciate your help!

I'm not sure because I'm not before SAP but try transaction VL10E that is to create delivery for schedule lines. I'm not sure what are the split criterias.

Triggering a scheduled event based on the approval status

Hi,
I have created schedules for my project (one task and one milestone) with three phases(draft,approval,approved). The milestone is dependent on the task.Task is created for draft phase and milastone for approval phase
Now after creating the schedules when I have saved the project, even before i put my project in the draft phase the schedule is getting triggered and can be seen on the workbench in the events channel.
That means the schedules are getting triggered based on the date irrespective of the task or milestone being completed and also the schedule for a task needs to be triggered each time until the task is completed.
So now I want accomplish two things -
1. How can I trigger the schedule only when the user puts it in the draft phase or any required phase ?
2. How can I send a mail to the collaborator each day until he proceed the project to approved status and only on getting "approved" status the milestone schedule should be triggered.

Both would require scripting...

build a custom class that gets called nightly via scheduled task and searches through the projects meeting your criteria and sends them an email reminder.

You can get user details by name using DirectoryService namespace. Then you can create a DataTable to restore the information and then bind to the SharePoint GridView.

When I click Schedule after PWA Settings > Project Details Page, there comes the error.
I can download the Schedule Page. But I don't see where to change, because the wrong URL doesn't apper at the page.

Have you tried this?
Navigate to the schedule PDP, in the browser address bar, append the string
?Contents=1, like thus:
https://<your PWA Address>/Project%20Detail%20Pages/Schedule.aspx?Contents=1
This will open the Webpart Maintenance page. Now, select the Details
webpart, and Delete it. Once done, navigate bacjk to the webpart page, edit page, and re-add the Details Webpart to the page.
This should fix your issue.

Is there any way to revert back to the old Active X based Datasheet view?

Is there a setting I can check to use the old Active X based Datasheet view from 2010? If not, then is there a way to have the new 2013 Datasheet view display more than 30 items per line? I clicked display all in the view settings and it displays 30
items and gives me a little arrow at the bottom to get to the next set of 30. My list has close to 800 items and I want to edit them on one page without having to scroll to other pages. Its more user friendly that way

No way I know of.
But you can edit the view and set the item limit to a large number. One of my lists has 672 items and I can display them all in a single Quick Edit view.

OTL Approvals routing based on the project and task type

We are implementing OTL with Projects in our system.
We have about 200 projects each with a different project manager. The requirement is to route billable tasks to project managers and non billable tasks to HR Supervisor. Employees may enter time for both billable and non-billable tasks in the same timecard.
I tried using fast formula approval style, but it does not split the timecard data based on the chosen project - task. All the time entries are sent to the same approver.
I tried using 2 time categories(using 2 user defined valuesets). However it seems ELA will not work when have different project managers for projects in the same time category.
Please suggest a way to implement approvals for this requirement

The best approach here would be a custom Workflow.

How to schedule report filtered by dynamic date based on the date the Agent runs

I have a question about delivering report using OBIEE agent.
If i am running an agent today to deliver report A, can I get report A based on Last Monday's date or any dynamic dates?
For example, say today is Dec 18th 2013 and my agent is running according to how I set the schedule. Now the deliver content will have report A being delivered. Now report A has a date column, normally this column is filtered by current date. But if it's delivered through agents to various users, Report A's data should be the previous Monday, so in this case Dec 9th 2013. When this agent is run again said on Dec 27th 2013, then report A should be filtered by Dec 16th 2013, which is the previous monday of Dec 27th.
Can something like this be achieved in OBIEE 11G?

Not a straight forward way
1) Let the report run through Agent with Current Date filter
2) once it ran for the first time you can see IBOT name/last run time(LAST_RUNTIME_TS) in S_NQ_JOB
Create a repository variable 'last_run_agent' using below sql to get max(LAST_RUNTIME_TS)
select max(LAST_RUNTIME_TS) from s_nq_job where name = 'AGENT_NAME';
Edit the analysis report with current date filter and modify the filter condition accordingly to filter on newly created repository variable
