Regarding Protection for Queries

Hi All,
We have created queries in SD module and we want to present it to clint for initial view. Now we want to restrict the client from modifying the Query Definition. I dont have clear idea of authorizations. How can I restrit the user from accessing that option in BEx.
Is there any standard Role that we can assign for the client.
Please suggest me \

Jay

Hello Jayanth,
Use su01 or PFCG tcode and look for the roles available otherwise create one new role and assign that Role to user go to Authorization tab under that click show authorisation and Restrict under S_RS_COMP1 by checking  it 02 = Change, 03= Display, 06 = Delete, 16=Execute.
Hope it helps,

  • Question regarding the default web template for queries

    Hello,
I am trying to learn the default web template that is using for queries:
    0QUERY_TEMPLATE_BROADCASTING70
I see that it's <bi:QUERY value="" /> is empty which is logic since the query will be inserted on runtime. My question is, where in the web template does it say that? I can't see any parameter it expects to get with the query's technical name not at the webtemplate code nor at the URL...
    Roy

    Roy,
I think you are mixing things. The template you are mentioning is used for queries that are executed from the query designer. It's not a web template as any other one you create for your users. So, this web template has some parts in it's code that works with the query execution. When you run a query, the system takes the query definition (made in QD) and executes it with the web template indicated for the query. This determination is made by the program that is used to run queries. You can try using RSRT transaction to debug and check how this it's done. If you want to change the default web template used by query designer to run the queries, you should do it copying any standard template, like the one you mentioned. If you don't do it, you won't get the information correct.
    Hope this helps.

  • Microsoft Forefront Server Protection for Exchange Registration Service does not start automatically

    Hello,
I am having an issue when I start my TMG 2010 machine:
(*TMG 2010 + Forefront protection for Exchange + Exchange Edge server role, acting like a SMTP relay and Antispam filter)
The service "Microsoft Forefront Server Protection for Exchange Registration Service"
does not start, it is set to "Manual".
I tried to find some information about which services should be started and which should not, but I cannot find such information, not even in Technet (my fault probably).
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Have you received any errors in event logs when
you started the Microsoft Forefront Server Protection for Exchange Registration Service?
    Based on my research,
Microsoft Forefront Server Protection Controller service is a dependency of the Microsoft Forefront Server Protection Registration service and the Microsoft Forefront
Server Protection Registration service is a dependency of the Microsoft Exchange Transport service.
The Microsoft Forefront Server Protection Registration service normally only runs for a brief time (less than a minute) when FPE initializes. It then shuts
down and does not need to be running for transport scanning to occur.
You can refer to the link below:

  • Virus protection for my macbook pro

Does anybody know of a good Virus protection for my macbook pro? Some people say i dont need one is that true? I was hoping to get a cheap/reasonable priced protection for a lil extra help. Im worried about my laptop getting a virus.

    Thomas A Reed wrote:
sigh. Discussions about anti-virus software here are a hot-button topic, and often cause virtual fistfights. Not your fault, of course, but now there's a lot of confusing information being thrown back and forth here. Let me try to clear the air a bit.
First, regarding ClamXav, Kappy's link is fine, but I would refer you straight to the official ClamXav site rather than the MacUpdate page:
    http://www.clamxav.com
There is another ClamXav site, ending in .org, that is fake. It's not related to the actual ClamXav. Don't go there. I'd love nothing better than to get that site taken down, but alas, that is not within my power.
I have mixed feelings about ClamXav. I like the guy who develops it, and I like the way it works... but it's not always on top of things with regard to malware definitions.
Regarding Avast, it is certainly not "the worst of the whole wretched lot" of anti-virus software. Neither is it something I would recommend highly. It has a tendency towards false positives, in my experience. Beyond that, I have not used it for a lengthy period of time, and cannot say more.
Go to my Mac Malware Guide and get the information you need to learn how to protect yourself, and then make your own educated decision about anti-virus software, based on your needs and behaviors. I have some recommendations there, and you can also take a look at the results of my testing of Mac anti-virus software. (Be sure to read the whole thing, and don't just skip straight to the results, as the results are meaningless without understanding what they mean and what they don't mean.)
With respect to your site and your basic research on the matter and limited time spent with these engines running, you have to see this from my side as well.  I have over 20+ client networks that run nothing but the full licensed version of Avast with just the AV filters turned on (none of the Firewalling built into it of any kind).  2 of those clients are full Mac networks with 15+ Macs on them and they run the Mac version without issue.  Their systems run at the same speed as they did without anything else on them.  I also run the software myself daily an my system has no issues with slowness or anything.  I have run Avast for the past 6+ years without problems with false positives or system corruptions of any kind, the same cannot be said for other platforms like McAfee and Norton who's bad signature updates have crippled entire networks.  I have looked at numerous options from ESET to AVG Free and none of them have as small a footprint on the system as Avast in my professional opinion (one backed by over 15 years in the IT industry).  While as of late I'll agree that the PC version of the software has had some additions to it that I don't agree with (like the newly added features of 8.0), the Mac version is still pretty basic in contrast.  As such, even the PC side isn't bad, you just have to do a custom install and just exclude the additional options you don't want.  Ultimately, they're adding it in there to try and protect idiot users more, but there's only so much you can do to keep people safe without piling on the security layers.
Anyway, as Thomas said... discussions about AV on Mac forums can go on for hours, but the fact remains that you run a risk with and without something on your system.  Utimately it's your call to make, just be open minded and do your research instead of just taking the word of some home user of Macs with lot of points who've used these systems for over 10 years and are more proficient at protecting themselves than you are as a novice user.  That is the best suggestion I can give you.

  • Frorefront Protection for Exchange 2010 Version Number

    Afternoon Community
I am currently research and planning the upgrade of an MS Exchange 2010 Virtual Server. One of the steps requires the upgrade of Forefront Protection for Exchange to be updated to the latest Rollup (KB230203 - Rollup 5). Due to ongoing projects i am aware
that Forefront has never been upgraded by us.
A few weeks ago we noticed our license for the product was due to expire, so we extended the license until Dec 2015. I have noticed that the version number of Forefront is now showing as 11.0.727.0 (Forefront Protection 2010 w Rollup 4). We havent installed
any of the Rollup Hotfixes and i can find no trace of the install under control panel/programs and features.
    1. Has anyone recently updated their license and seen that it has changed their version number?
    2. How can i confirm that no Rollup Hotfix has been installed?
    3. If i go ahead and try to install KB2619883 (Rollup 4), will it cleanly install or will it fail as Forefront thinks the package is already at the correct level?
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Barry Fitzpatrick

    Hi,
Maybe you can check the Installed Updates in Programs and Features under Control Panel. In addition, if you have Windows PowerShell, you can use Get-Hotfix cmdlet to get the hotfixes that have been applied to the local computer.

where should we take a look whats not being updated. Please a little help.

  • Can't find cell protection for formulas. Help!

Would someone be so kind as to direct me to info on cell protection for formulas as found in xcel spreadsheets.
What would Mac call it, seed/kernal protection or something? Thanks

    a,
Your best bet, as I see it, is to put your equations and other sensitive data in one locked table and any input cells in another unlocked table or tables. You can arrange the tables in such a way as to simulate locking patches of a larger table as you might have done in Excel if you wish. None of this is iron clad. Anyone who knows how to unlock a table can do so and make changes. You are defending honest, well-intentioned users from mistakes, that's all. You can make mistakes pretty difficult to make with combinations of locked tables and clear masking objects over those tables to prevent selecting them.

  • Doubt's regarding the Hierarchial Queries in Oracle

    Hi,
i have a doubt regarding the Hierarchial Queries in Oracle.
    SELECT * FROM TMP_TEST;
    ID     NUMVAL     STRVAL
    1     100     Hello
    1     -100     World
    2     1     Concatenate
    2     2     In String
    2     3     using Connect By
    2     4     Using SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH
i am clear with my execution of IN_Line view (mechanism how it work's) .
But i have also read about the Hierarchial queries in the Oracle product documentation's. i am also aware of the
SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH , LEVEL & START WITH , CONNECT BY Keywords.
But i couldnot able to Manually work out as how this below Query works.
Can you please explain me how this Hieracial query works ?
    SELECT ID, (SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH(STRVAL,',')),LEVEL
    FROM
SELECT ID,STRVAL,ROW_NUMBER() OVER(PARTITION BY ID ORDER BY ID) RNUM,
COUNT(*) OVER(PARTITION BY ID ORDER BY ID) CNT,NUMVAL
    FROM TMP_TEST
    START WITH RNUM = 1
CONNECT BY PRIOR RNUM = RNUM - 1
    Many Thanks,
    Rajesh.

    Hi, Rajesh,
My first message was in response to your first message.
In your latest message, the query is:
    SELECT  ID, (SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH(STRVAL,',')),LEVEL
    FROM    (
SELECT  ID,STRVAL,ROW_NUMBER() OVER(PARTITION BY ID ORDER BY ID) RNUM,
COUNT(*) OVER(PARTITION BY ID ORDER BY ID) CNT,NUMVAL
            FROM TMP_TEST
    WHERE   RNUM = CNT
    START WITH  RNUM = 1
CONNECT BY  PRIOR RNUM = RNUM - 1;It looks like you lost the second CONNECT BY condition:
AND PRIOR ID = IDPut it back: it's important.
Now you're confused about the output row:
2    ,Hello,World, using Connect By,Using SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH   4It doesn't seem to correspond to anything results that you got when you ran the sub-query alone.
That's because the resutls from your sub-query may change every time you run it, even though the data doesn't change. The ORDER BY clauses in both of the analytic functions do not result in a complete ordering. In fact, they're completely meaningless. It never makes any sense to PARTITON BY and ORDER BY the same value; "PARTITION BY id" means that only rows with the same id will be compared to each other; you might as well say "ORDER BY 0" or "ORDER BY dmbs_random.value".
The ORDER BY clause of ROW_NUMBER whould reflect that way in which you want the results to appear within each id, for example:
ROW_NUMBER () OVER (PARTITION BY id ORDER BY UPPER (strval))Note that this is very similar to what was in my first reply.
In the COUNT function, why do you want an ORDER BY clause at all? Just say:
COUNT (*) OVER (PARTITION BY id)

  • Extra protection for EP super administrator

    Hi,
We are currently involved in an EP6 SP3 implementation involving web-dynpro development.
We have a requirement from the client, where-in he wants extra protection for the super administrator role in EP, meaning, even though the entire portal is internet facing, the super administrator should not be able to log-onto the portal through internet, it should only be through intranet.
Is it even possible to have this functionality in EP?
This is similar to the scenario in SAP ITS, where you have all services running on a port (say port 80) and only the admin service on another port (say 81). So when you access the ITS server from internet, you can access all other services because you open port 80 on the internet, but you cannot access admin service because you do not open port 81 on internet.
    Cheers,
    Aniket

Otherwise, you might ask your network guys, if they have a revserse proxy for internet access to the protal running that supports access roles based on URL or request pattern.
Then they could just add a rule that blocks logins if the super_admins's user ID ("sap*") is sent over the wire.
Additionally, Dagfinn's idea of a custom JAAS module is really good. It's definitely the more sophisticated approach but requires some custom Java coding. You could include this JAAS module in the authscheme ("the login module chain") and perform a check like:
IF client's IP is from external (e.g. the reverse proxy's IP) AND user ID = sap*
    THEN let authentication fail.

  • Standard Display Roles For Queries in BW

    Dear All,
Could you Please share the Standard Display Roles For Queries in BW.
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Sai

    Hi Sai,
You can find query specific roles in metadata repository.
    Also try this table in
    SE16. AGR_OBJ
    Other useful tables might be:
    AGR_DEFINE -      Role definition
AGR_USERS -      Assignment of roles to users
    AGR_HIERT           Role menu texts
    AGR_AGRS           Roles in Composite Roles
If you need to find user specific roles, check Tcode SUIM.
    Hope this helps.

  • Free virus protection for windows side of Mac

Can anyone tell me if I need virus protection for the windows side of my Mac? If so is there any reliable ones that are free?

    >If so is there any reliable ones that are free?
It would probably be a good idea to study various tests in computer magazines in order to find the anti-virus program (free or not) that best meets your requirements.
Just as one example (not a recommendation), for earlier versions of Windows, Microsoft Security Essentials is available for download free of charge. Windows 8.x editions include a program called Windows Defender.

  • Virus protection for iMac-Leopard

There seems to be a divergence of opinion, in general, regarding the need for virus-protection software for Mac. ( I used Intego Internet Security with my previous machine- 15" Flat Screen with Tiger.)
The local Apple Store regarding the subject would say neither yes nor no.
(I only talked to a salesman, though.)
If there is a technically well-informed reader of this message, would you kindly answer the questions: a), is virus protection necessary; and b), if it is, would Intego be the way to go - if not, what would you suggest?

Another vote for ClamXav, a wonderful protection for Mac. mtatmc is 110% right. Antivirus/antimalware protection is not just thinking about yourself and your computer, it is about thinking about everybody's safety when browsing this internet. It's not just about infecting your own computer, but passing it over to your friends' computers, to your family members' computers etc. Of course, no one wants that to happen.
Maybe there are not so many viruses/trojans in the wild like there are for PCs, but don't be fooled... it is not thanks to Unix nor because Unix is safer than anything else out there... Nothing is bullet-proof and everything can be broken. It is just because PCs are a lot more popular than Macs, and attackers found them a lot more interesting to attack. Things are changing though and we have to be careful about this. Macs are becoming popular more and more, by the day... and it is just a question when these nasties will hit us. There are already some nasty trojans for the Macs in the wild, and you don't want to take any chances.
Besides ClamXav, there is avast! antivirus for Mac recently released. It is one of the best antiviruses out there, but it is not free... and the biggest problem, Mac version has some issues, some bugs that still need to be fixed. I am a long time avast! user on my PC, but on my Mac, I use ClamXav and I am not even sure if I will switch to anything else.
Another little thing... download and install DNS changer removal tool, it is a must have.
