Regarding *.Prt Files For Development of Reports

Hi,
Can i create *.Prt Files in Oracle 9i Reports Developer ????
Please also mail in DETAIL while developing Reports where i have to specify *.Prt (Say Wide.Prt) Files ??
If development of *.Prt is not possible in Oracle 9i Reports Developer then from where we can create or get the
same ????
How the Coupling between *.Prt File and Oracle Report is done ????

where i have to specify *.Prt (Say Wide.Prt) Files ?? Typically you place the .prt files in %RW%\printers directory (or %RW60%\printers for 6i Reports). Check your registry entries but %RW% is usually defined as %ORACLE_HOME%\reports
If development of *.Prt is not possible in
Oracle 9i Reports Developer then from where
we can create or get the same ???? Not applicable since they're supported in 9i
How the Coupling between *.Prt File and Oracle Report is done ???? *.prt files are used during Reports character mode output so only work when the mode=character command line parameter is set. They defined the physical page size supported by a specific character mode printer as well as printer escapes that can be used to support any escapes that the character mode printer may support. If you are printing to file, then the desformat command line parameter will contain the *.prt file that Reports should use.

How can use & modify printer defination files for changing formats & orientation in character mode report. I donot know how to use printer defination files I tried to set the system parameter (Desformat) but it doesn't work.

If u want to make character mode report so plz follow these instructions:
1. Set the properties of Report Name Node in Character Cell is Yes.
2. Change the mode of the System Parameter Mode is Character.
3. Goto the Layout---> Main Section Properties and set the Character Report Width and Height like 132 and 66
4. Create Formula Column and write this code "RETURN(CHR(14));"
5. Goto Layout Model and map this formula column into Header of the Body Like If ur Company Name is "ABC COMPANY" attached with field and map Formula Column.
5. Goto Printer Definition File DFLT.prt open in NotePad and set width and hieght that u set in Main Section of Report.
6. At Last u Run the Report with Some System Parameter or User Parameter and View as Character Mode Report.

Nls_date_format for developer 6 reports.

Hi ,
In developer 6 reports ,i want to use the nls_date format..ie date format should be taken from the registry variable nlsdate_format.
I used the function --
ora_nls.get_lang_str(ora_nls.current_date_fmt)
This function works fine for develpoer 2000 reports 4.5 but not in developer6 reports..
Any Body know the solution?

Currently we are using Adobe form for development but the ADS always has a problem in EC6 as below.

ERROR MESSAGE: SOAP Runtime exception: CSoapExceptionTransport : HTTP receive failed with exception communication_failure

TestStand with all require files for development distribution

Hi,
I am using TestStand 3.5 and LabVIEW 7.1. TestStand is my ActiveX server. I make different sequences mostly using LabVIEW and some are ActiveX call.
I want to make a complete package of my TestStand sequence including LabVIEW files, dll, llb, etc used by TestStand sequence and sent it for development. Is it possible any way to do this, how?

Hi Vishal,
You can specify the install location directory for any file that's included in your workspace by selecting it and setting the Installer Properties within the Deployment Tool dialog (Deployed Files tab). In the case of LabVIEW code, if you have a top-level VI that calls a subVI, then the directory in which the subVI is stored is set under the LabVIEW options. This path is relative to the directory where you indicated to install the top-level VI. This means that the installer will create a new directory (with the given name) for supporting VIs for every VI that is to be installed in a different location.
If you just want an installer that will just copy all your files onto another system with the same file structure and directories and you have LabVIEW Professional, you can try creating a source distribution.

Multiple default values for a presentation variable is only possible in 11g as Srini Said.
Check mark : Enable user to select multiple values. (under variable datatypes)

Good start to a .gitignore file for development using VS2010 and GitHub commits

I apologize if this has already been answered; I searched and did not find any pointers to the information that I am looking for, but my google-fu is not always the best.
After recently getting back into C# development and restarting using Virtual Studio, I've realized that, using the standard GitHub GUI client, I'm committing a huge amount of binary files. Obviously, being as I'm just committing the top-level project
directory and everything including build trees underneath it.
Does anybody know of a good source to find a .gitignore file that will exclude most, if not conclusively all, of these files? I only want the files essential to develop the project on the repository; I have a free account, I can't handle the amount
of space being used. Basically whatever is the bare minimum source and directory hierarchy required to rebuild the project in a new instance of Virtual Studio.

Files for formatting the reports

could anybody please tell me the what are the files we need to modify the formattings to the already existings formats.in obiee tool where those files available...any body have any scripts to modify it (i never find doument on these formatting could any body any any links please )

If you're trying to learn CSS for the first time, this is a good starting point.
In terms of the example you gave, can you provide screen shots? Both of the dashboard and how it prints out?
If you can give me a little details I can point towards where you can change some CSS configurations.

In CIM you can find tables including "_SMY" in their name in reportsDB are holding the reports Data.
I would suggest to consult eGain PS or Cisco AS while desiging custom queries to get accurate outputs. As some of column names could be confusing to you without Data model guide.

Hey Raji,
Oracle does not have the concept of breaking out Production, Staging and Developer licenses and you must purchase enough processors and users to cover all uses of the any licensed software, regardless of where / how used. Best bet is to reach out to your local ATG sales rep and they can walk through the exercise with you.

I have a requirement to export data from a BPC application to App.server/UJFS. There are currently 13 dimensions in the application. The user requires the output file to contain only three dimensions followed by the amount(signdata), namely
| COSTCENTER | ACCOUNT | TIME | AMOUNT |.
How do i handle the same in transformation file?
Currently i am using the following transformation file but i am having issues validating it.

The 'Export' data package which comes as part of a support pack enhancement does not support using Transformation/Conversion files to modify data prior to transport.
Please refer to section 3 (Limitations) in the below how to guide.

Hence your only option is to manually massage data in the spreadsheet after exporting.

PRT file doesn't work (printer codes) (urgent)

Hi,
I've got a small problem using a custom prt file for printing reports on a Epson TM-T88 printer.
I'm trying to use the printer codes which are in the programming manual of the Epson printer for cutting the paper.
But it doesn't work.
This is the prt-file:
printer "kassabon"
before report esc "@"
after report dec (27) dec (86) 1 dec (27) dec (105)
Who can solve this problem?

LCM export and import for Hyperion financial reports 11 1 2 2

Hi All,
Could you please let me know how to perform the LCM migration for HFR in 11.1.2.2 version. I am on AIX.
I am having some issues with my HFR server and so I cannot open the reports. So I am thinking if I can use LCM and export and migrate the reports to another server.
The steps I am performing to do this:
Login to HSS > Application group> Reporting and Analysis> Repository objects> report folder name> select reports> Hit on Export
Now in the exported folder I see three things:
RnA-Reporting and Analysis (Its a folder)
Export.xml
Import.xml
Now under RnA-Reporting and Analysis folder I see sub folders
resource\Repository Objects\Under this folder, I see for every report there is one .xml file and 5 other files for the same report.
Can anyone tell me how to import these reports back into the new environment?

Thanks for the reply- And I followed what you recommended but none of the reports being migrated. I can only see one batch script under HSS and workspace in the target server but in the LCM export from the source server (The exported folder) i can see all the reports and the books.
Can you please advise what should be done now?
