Regarding rebooting n updates

I ve nokia lumia 520... While updating it shows error agn n agn wid some error code... N it also notifies to rebbot d system 3-5 times a day...

Might be worth a soft reset, it'll wipe your phone back to factory settings so you'll need to re connect your accounts/re download your apps but hopefully it'll sort it out

Regarding the Windows Update, is this given answers are Right? Thank you :)

    Hi,
    1. In the Group Policy Object Editor, expand Computer Configuration, expand
Administrative Templates, expand Windows Components, and then click
    Windows Update.
    2. In the details pane, click Specify Intranet Microsoft update service location.
    3. Click Enabled and type the HTTP(S) URL of the same WSUS server in the
Set the intranet update service for detecting updates box and in the
Set the intranet statistics server box. For example, type
http(s)://servername in both boxes, where servername is the name of the server. If the port is not 80 for HTTP or 443 for HTTPS, you should add the port number:
    https://servername:portnumber.
    4. Click OK.

my ipad 3 keeps on rebooting after updated to ios 7.1.2. what shd i do?? how to resolve the issue??

The first thing that I would try is a reset.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
IF that doesn't stop the rebooting, you should restore the iOS Software. Read this carefully and read to all the way through before proceeding.
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
At the very end of the article under "additional information" there is a link to recovery mode. You might need to use that if you cannot restore in the conventional manner.

  • HT4061 I need help, I pluged my iphone and itunes said there was an update to download and update, I did but when itunes was rebooting and updating I got an error message. and now the phone is telling me that it cant be activated.

I need help, I pluged my iphone to itunes and got a message that said there was an update to download and update, I did but when itunes was rebooting and updating I got an error message. and now the phone is telling me that it cant be activated, to plug it in to itunes or to contact support care.

That message usually indicates that your phone was hacked to unlock it from the original phone carrier, then when you updated or restored it locked back to that carrier.

  • IPad 2 Rebooting after updating or installing from appstore!

This is getting increasingly frustrating! I have seen various issues with peoples phones or ipads rebooting since IOS 7.1 update but I havent seen anything like this yet!
    I have 250+ apps
    10GB free
    and im running 7.1.1
has anyone seen this before? I would like for it to not reboot when updating or installing new apps!

Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)
When you go to the App Store does it show it as purchased?

  • Notification from Adobe regarding  Flash Player Updates

    Hello,
I work with a county wide non profit library system and we seem to have issues every so often with bringing up websites that use Adobe Flash to run their video player and game functionalities within the websites.   I've contacted Adobe to try and find out if there's any way at all that we could get on an email Distribution list to notify us everytime the Flash Player application plug-in for the web gets updated.  This would give us a "heads-up" pro active approach to this issue and allow us to serve our patrons more efficiently and effectively rather than waiting till we get complaints that our PCs aren't running Flash on them when we know that we are and the build just isn't the same.
    Any Help would be appreciated.
    Mike

  • PackageKit (gnome-software) triggered reboot for updates?

    Hello!
Some days ago I installed "gnome-software" out of curiosity. Is it possible that "PackageKit" in the background triggers some sort weird Red Hat behaviour, with an unrequested reboot for an autonomous update of systemd? This seems to be named "pk-offline-update".
    What happend:
    1. pacman -Syu # this morning, systemd updates included
    2. shutdown through GNOME UI this afternoon
    3. machine hangs for minutes (screen blank, no reaction on keyboard)
    4. turned off through power button
    5. turn on again through power button
    6. some short messages from systemd on tty1, can't read
    7. systemd turns off itself again
    8. turn on again through power button, everything back to normal

This looks for me like "gnome-software" trigged this through "PackageKit". I don't really use "gnome-software", because I'm following the generic approach of Archlinux and do all administrative stuff through the terminal. This means, I use only the official programs from Archlinux, pacman, pacdiff and in my case sometimes VIM. I really don't want reboot my machine for updates, if it is not really my own decission and desire because it is technially required. Basically I just ask for conformation on this issue. If I'm right about "PackageKit" and "gnome-software" as responsible for this frightening* incident, I will remove gnome-software, at least untils is behaviour is switched off.
    Thanks

    Problem solution:
    Windows? Reboot!
    GNU/Linux? Be root!
    * Sorry for that expression...but...Windows!!!

I noticed that when I shut down via GNOME with gnome-software installed and updates to install, there is a checkbox for installing updates in the shutdown dialog. If this is checked (which it is by default), the computer will reboot, install updates and only then shut down.
You probably didn't uncheck this checkbox, or maybe use an extension which bypasses the shutdown dialog. Since your computer froze and was power-off, the installation step only occured after you manually powered it on again.

  • Handling of pending reboot, exclusive updates for patch management with SCCM 2012

    Hello,
Planning to use SCCM 2012, I would like to understand how smart is SCCM 2012 when dealing with specific patch management situation.
    Assuming I have the following:
    - A given server to be patched is missing a lot of updates, several being mutually exclusive. This typical case will require several reboot / patching to properly obtain a server fully up to date.
    - A given server to be patched is in pending reboot state because the local admin installed new software and has not restarted the server yet as requested
    - Those servers have configured maintenance windows of 2 hours during each night. I scheduled a deployment of missing patches authorizing restart.
--> when the maintenance window will be reached:
    - will the server first be restarted to clean the pending reboot ?
    - will the the server be patched / restarted several times as required to fully meet the updates to be deployed.
    Another scenario on workstation side:
    - can I enforce deployment of updates at a given time, do not automatically restart the workstation during patch deployment, but after deployment schedule a mandatory restart with a countdown if there is a pending reboot... From end-user perspective, it
would have the following behavior. For instance:
    - patches are automatically installed on Monday at 10 AM
    - as soon as deployment is done, warning message is displayed to ask users to reboot
    - then user has up to 48h to restart his computer by himself. If he does not do it, it will be automatically done after countdown expires.
--> Can such a scenario be managed by SCCM 2012 ?
    Regards.

    Hi,
I have a related question about deploying Microsoft Security Updates to workstations via SCCM 2012.  Is there a way to deploy the MS updates to workstations and only suppress reboots for machines with users logged on or locked?  There seems to
be only 2 different options for reboots, Suppress them all or don't suppress them at all.  We would like SCCM to reboot the machines that are logged off, but suppress the reboot for those that are logged on, while at the same time, provide the user with
a notification that their machine needs to be rebooted (at their convenience).
We've tried applying the Domain GPO "No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations" (Enabled) and "Configure Automatic Updates" (Disabled), but the logged on/locked machines still receive the restart countdown with no
    option to postpone or delay.
This is a show stopper for us since we have an environment where we are absolutely not allowed to reboot a logged on machine.
For a little background, we are coming from SMS 2003 and the Distribute Software Updates (ITMU) way of deploying MS Updates, where we could always set the program to run "Only when no user is logged on".
Please tell me there is a way to achieve our desired result.
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • Machines reboot after update even when SCCM is configured with 'suppress reboot'

    Hello,
I need some advice about distributing updates.
My problem : yesterday afternoon I had to deploy an update and eliminate any reboot that could occur.
Everything was ok, the update was deployed with no reboot.
But, this night, some of the machines started to reboot at 03h00 !!
In the eventlog I can see this :
The process C:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe (xxxxxx) has initiated the restart of computer xxxxxxx on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: Operating System: Recovery (Planned)
     Reason Code: 0x80020002
     Shutdown Type: restart
     Comment:
If I look in the windowsupdate.log I can see that it is the AU client who has done the reboot.
How can I avoid that ?
I thought SCCM would manage every settings for the update distribution/reboot.
I have found a post who says that you have to configure the settings 'No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations' in a GPO.
But what can I do when there is no one logged on the machine ? how can I avoid the reboot ?
I know my request is strange to install an update and make no reboot but I was asked so by my management.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Marc

    Hi,
It sounds like it is the Windows Update Agent that has rebooted the computer, have you set the group policy for Windows Update "Configure Automatic Updates" to disabled? otherwise it is knwon to restart the client..
    Jason describes it here:

  • I purchased a book on itunes.  It shoes up in itunes but not in ibook on my ipod touch.  I tried rebooting, syncing, updating.  Nothing works.  Can anyone help me?

A book I purchased from itunes store downloaded OK and shows up on my PC but does not show up in ibooks on my ipod touch.  I tried manually syncing and rebooting which did not help.  From the pc in the itunes store the book shows up in the purchased list.  From the ipod, the purchased list from the store is empty.  Actually, the book does not exist when trying to search for it at the store from the ipod.  I'm confused.  Any solution or suggestion?

The book is in ibooks format.  The extension is ".ibooks".  I did delete it from itunes and download it again from the store a few times.  I tried updating my ibooks app.  I even sent it to the ipod through dropbox.  I looked through all the settings I could find in itunes and ipod.  So far no matter what I do, ibooks does not see this book.

  • Problems with Mini--continued reboot after update

I recently was given a Mini to play with. I was having some issues with it when I first received it. I read some forum posts and some other non-apple related help files on the internet. I finally got the Mini to work correctly, at least I was able to get to the menu screen and get the Mini recognized by my computer. When iTunes recognized my new ipod I was told to update the software, I did. The update that was "needed" was 1.4.1. I went ahead and downloaded this update. I was then told to plug the Mini into the wall outlet to make the update complete. I did this as well. I left the Mini plugged into the wall, using the Apple AC adapter and the provided USB connector. The Mini flashed the apple icon then the "plug into the wall" icon. I left the Mini plugged in overnight, I had no idea how long it would take to finish the update. The next day I tried to plug the Mini into my computer and I got a message telling me that my ipod might be corrupt and I should reset the ipod back to original settings. I tried that.
Now, as I type this, I have the same Mini plugged into my computer and it does not register as a USB device on my computer and itunes does not even recognize that it is connected. The Mini seems to be caught in some kind of rebooting loop. The screen continually reboots, going from the apple icon to the "plug in" icon. I don't know what else to try, besides throwing the ipod away.
I would really like some help with this problem. I have tried the 5Rs and I have gotten nowhere. I will gladly take any suggestion that can be made.
I am running a Dell Inspiron with Windows Vista Basic, if that helps. Thank you for any help.

I have followed your intruction and it does not correct the problem. Diskmode does not appear. The ipod is completely locked out. The apple symbol appears, followed by the plug-in picture and that is all.
This is a result of an update to version 1.4.1 via iTunes. Surely Apple have to provide a fix for this error as it was no fault of anyone elses that these ipods are now rendered useless.
To make matters worse, I have all my uni assessment information on the ipod, which is my sister's, and I can no longer access it. My assessment is in 2 days.
If I have to get the ipod "repaired" due to an apple update then that is plain ridiculous. To cost me money for repair due to an update provided by apple? That's insane. Apple should take responsibility for the problems this update has caused and provide a fix.

The following options can be tried:
1)Try to transport the cube once again with option "before data Target" and manually collectinng all the objects.
2)Transport the Update Rules once again
3)Activate directly once again in Test system.
    Hope this helps.
