what is Reinitialization ?
In general, when we use Reinitialization ?
In which scenarios' we can go for it...........Can u people explain with good example.(Especially with LO-cockpit)

Your datasource is already picking up deltas and it is in production environment..
after some time,your business scenario has been changed.so that you have add some extra fields into your data source as per business requirement..then you have to go for reinitialisation..
Or after some time you have found that there is data inconsistancy which is updated with full load/init load/deltas(which you don't know through which request and also compressed all the requests)..this time also you need to go for reinitilisation
Steps:
Delete all the data from you data target.
delete the init request from your info package.
run all the v3 jobs for this data source
delete all the delta queue data(bu pulling it into bw)
now run setup tables..
full load to bw
init run
set up v3 jobs in r/3
run deltas

Regarding texts language after extracting texts from R/3.

Hi,
i had created datasource and by scheduling infopackage i had extracted texts to BW for a particular field.
now the problem is that when i see the extracted data in BW, i could only see one language at a time. i mean to say that in the selection screen it is asking for language. when i enter one langauge say EN ,i could only see the texts of english .For other languages it is just a blank both language and texts.when i enter german language it is again the same ( can see german texts and language de and not english )
when i did not enter any value in the selection screen for language it says " " is not available!
my question is how to get the all languages keys and texts irrespective of language text that it is possessing?

Hi,
in the infoobject maintenance screen, goto to the tab 'master data/texts' and double click on the text table. In the following screen select 'display table contents'. Another option might be copy the name of the text table into memory, goto transaction se16 and display the values.

1. please anyone tell me in detail about difference between LO extraction and FI and CO extraction.
2. In Infopackage, what it explains in a tab saying, with masterdata and without masterdata check box for loading data.

hi,
mainly extractor has two types
1. application specific extractor
2. cross application specific extractor
in the application extractor also divided in two parts
1. customer generated extractor
2. business content extractor.
FI AND CO-PA extractor will fall under customer generated extractor and the LO extractor comes under BI Content extractor.
BI Content extractor has the advantage of editing and modifying the extract structure of data source, but in customer generated extractor this is not possible.
for your second question
you can have two option with update data with respect to master data or without master.
mostly it's depends upon the loading. transactional data loading with respect to master data.

created a multi pg pdf using acrobat distiller (pro 10.1.12 Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3)
opened pdf using (acrobat pro 9.5.5) then extracting the multi pdf to singles the compatibility
changes to 1.6?
is there a setting to leave compatibility unchanged after extracting?

Q1: If we enhance a CRM transactional Datasource, do we have to write the ABAP logic in SE19 or CMOD or both?
Q2: If we enhance a CRM MasterData Datasource, do we have to write the ABAP logic in SE19 or CMOD or both?
Q3: What is the significance of the T-CODES BWA1, BWA5, BWA7 ?
Q4: When do you implement the BADI CRM_BWA_MFLOW and when do we implement the BADI CRM_BWA_SFLOW and when do we implement both of them?
Q5: What is the significance of the function module CRM_BADI_GET_BDOC? Is there any other function module which is used in CRM extraction that has to be implemented in coding?
Please throw some light on my questions.

HI,
For Delta Extraction of CRM to BI pelase follwo the below steps
Go to transaction GNRWB
Select BUS_TRANS_MSG
Select (on the right, the services): BWA_DELTA3, BWA_FILL, BWA_queue
Press Generate.
Also check for the following:
1. The delta should have been initialized successfully.
2. Confirm that all Bdocs of type BUS_TRANS_MSG
are processed with success in SMW01.
3. If there are queues in SMQ1 with erroneous status then activate
these queues.
In Transaction SMQ1 if there are Queues existing with
names beginning with CRM_BWAn (n is number) then
activate these queues in the same transaction.
4.a)If required activate the datasource
Go to transaction BWA5 > select the required datasource and
activate.
4 b) The Delta may not be active ,activate the delta in BWA7 by
selecting the name of the datsource and pressing the candle icon for
'activate delta'.
5. In BW system
Go to transaction RSA1 > modeling > infosources > select the
info source > right mouse click on the selected
infosource > choose option replicate datasource
Activate the infosource.
6. Go to the scheduler for the infosource > select delta in the
update >choose the option PSA only (in the Processing tab)
start immediately
Check the entry in the RSA7 in the OLTP(CRM system)

To avoid problems while using the configuration wizard (template installer )please check prerequisites for post-installation in SAP documentation. Select your Operating System and Database and look for 'Post-Installation Steps for Usage Type *' in the dedicated document.
Important: You cannot use the configuration wizard after
Upgrade

The sequence is:

Hi Ragav,
To extract data from R/3 to BW using fm,we need to create the data source by providing the name of the fm, and the r/3 extract structure name from which the data is extracted.
you can refer the Function module "RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA", to extract the data. You can code by adding the select staments, and the data messaging statements, and finally put the data in a loop to make the data packeting. Remember you should not change the import paraments of the Function Module. you should provide the extract structure name to E_T_DATA in the tables column of the FM.
I hope this will suffice for you to create the Extractor FM to extract the data from R/3 to BW.

Features of the InfoSource
As of PlugIn2002.2, it is no longer necessary to have DataSources linked. This means that you can now load 0FI_GL_4, 0FI_AR_4, 0FI_AP_4 and 0FI_TX_4 in any order. You also have the option of using DataSources 0FI_AR_4, 0FI_AP_4 and 0FI_TX_4 separately without 0FI_GL_4. The DataSources can then be used independently of one another (see note 551044).
Note
As soon as DataSource 0FI_GL_4 is loaded, it is the leading DataSource with regard to the time limits such as maximum time (CPU date) up to which data extraction is allowed.
Therefore, when the transition is made from having data requirements in Delta Init mode to having them in pure Delta operation, the data requirement in delta mode of leading DataSource (OFI_GL_4) must be processed first.
Linking of DataSources in the delta helps to ensure consistent extraction of FI data with regard to time limits. Consistency with regard to the data extracted has to be ensured via the init selection criteria.
Note
This InfoSource is delta-compatible. However, due to the Delta procedure used (after image Delta) it is not suitable for loading InfoCubes directly. An ODS object can be used as data target in order to identify the changes made to individual InfoObjects when loading Delta data.

How data extraction influence other processes in source system?

does data extraction influence other functions of source system (e.g. some background jobs can not be executed due to tables lock)?

The extraction process will not have much impact on the source system's other processes. But if u have got lots of data , it might have some effect while transferring the IDOCS. but as such, there should not be a problem of not data getting extracted. Is there any particular problem which ur phasing?

I do not use or support ACCESS however I know at lot of places have ACCESS front-end's to Oracle so it ought to be possible, if the data does not need a lot of reformatting, to insert the data into Oracle from Access.
You would also have the option of extracting the data into delimited data files and loading those into Oracle via sqlldr.
At least one application we have collects data from ACCESS into SQL Server and then sends data to Oracle via a Linked Database.
The direct insert from ACCESS to Oracle seems best but if you also need data from elsewhere or have extensive reformatting (perhaps normalization) to perform also one of the other techniques may work better.

Classification data extraction questions

Hai All,
I have few questions regarding the classification data extraction from R/3 to BW.
Does anybody know if I can do the following(classification data sources in CTBW):
1. Extraction of Characters that permit multiple value valuations
2. Extraction of characters intended for intervals
3. I know that only FULL update is supported for classification data as of BW 2x. Does anybody know if deltas are supported in any of the new versions upto BI 7.0?
I appreciate if any body can answer these questions or refer to documentation or SAP notes.

Data with delta extraction.

Hi Gurus
I want a small clarification regarding data with delta extraction.
If today the data is extracted from r/3 system with delta to ODS object and the data is activated and datamarted to another ODS and Cube.
Now if tomorrow the same records had changes how will the old data will be changed i.e in cube if we compress the old data what is the scnerio.
Can anyone explain in detail starting from Delta queue to change taking place at cube.

Don't worry about compression of Cube... Even if you do delta after compression, nothing to worry about Data. Next time you compress it, it will Make 1 record.
Assume...
Initially... in ODS Document 45000001 Item 0001 qty 10 Amount 20
in Cube Document 45000001 Item 0001 qty 10 Amount 20 (After compression)
Qty changed to 5...
In ODS Document 45000001 Item 0001 qty 5 Amount 10. This record will create 2 delta records to Cube.
that is looks like this...
Document 45000001 Item 0001 qty -10 Amount -20 Record mode ' X' (Before Image)
in ODS Document 45000001 Item 0001 qty 5 Amount 10 Recordmode ' " (After Image)
Finally cube contains...

If you compress cube... you will endup with last record.

Hi Experts,
Could you please update me on how to proceed with regards LO Cockpit Data Extraction
Datasource: 2LIS_11_VASTH
I activated the Datasource in R/3 and
Activated relevant BW Content.
I performed INITILIZATION that fetched 0 Records to BW
I performed DELTA that fetched 0 Records to BW
I checked in RSA3 (R/3) ....2LIS_11_VASTH extracted 0 Records
I checked the setup table for 2LIS_11_VASTH which showed 0 Records
Please update me in detail on how to perform Delete/Fill setup tables and
Do i need to perform DELTA in BW after filling setup tables in R/3

Hi,
Filling of set up tables
Go to transaction SBIW --> Settings for Application Specific Datasource --> Logistics --> Managing extract structures --> Initialization --> Filling the Setup table --> Application specific setup of statistical data --> perform setup (relevant application)
3.In OLI*** (for example OLI7BW for Statistical setup for old documents : Orders) give the name of the run and execute. Now all the available records from R/3 will be loaded to setup tables.
Deletion of set up tables
transaction code LBWG (Delete Setup data) and delete the data by entering the application name.
Delta settings
Go to transaction LBWE and make sure the update mode for the corresponding DataSource is serialized V3 update.
Go to BW system and create infopackage and under the update tab select the initialize delta process. And schedule the package. Now all the data available in the setup tables are now loaded into the data target.
Now for the delta records go to LBWE in R/3 and change the update mode for the corresponding DataSource to Direct/Queue delta. By doing this record will bypass SM13 and directly go to RSA7. Go to transaction code RSA7 there you can see green light # Once the new records are added immediately you can see the record in RSA7.
Go to BW system and create a new infopackage for delta loads. Double click on new infopackage. Under update tab you can see the delta update radio button.
Now you can go to your data target and see the delta record.
