Regarding RKF's

can i have a details document on RKF's

Hi manoj,
You can find this info on any basic reporting document which u can find in SDN itself.
RKF u can createby using any KF with restrict to some Char. Same KF u can use to create multiple RKFs by restricting the same KF with different values.
Assign points if it helps...

  • Nav Attributes not seen during creation of RKF in Query Designer

    Hi
    SCENARIO
I have a Char InfoObject POSTFI[POSTFI is Navigational Attr] with 3 Navigational Attributes included in the InfoCubes.
    1. ZINREPIND Reporting Indicator
    2. ZFITMCD01 Statement 01 Financial Item
    3. ZPCNR1 Profit Center Indicator
NOTE: All the above mentioned Nav Attr are properly set as Nav Attr and Active, Check and Rechecked.
We have 2-InfoCubes Current and Historical[both have same Structure].
A MultiProvider is build using the above 2-InfoCubes and the Char InfoObject PostFi is included in the MultiProvider.
Now I am trying to Create a Report using Query Designer and in that I have to Create a RKF[GrossSales1] and
    the Condition for which is KeyFigure=FINAMT, where POSTFI_ZFITMCD01 = 5010, POSTFI_ZPCNR1= Y
    PROBLEM
I can see the Nav Attr ZINREPIND, ZFITMCD01, ZPCNR1 in the main Screen of the Query Designer's LeftHandSide Pane containing KeyFigures and Dimenions under Dimension Financial=> PostFi=> Nav Attr ZINREPIND, ZFITMCD01, ZPCNR1.
While creating the RKF on KeyFigure FINAMT I am just able to see the InfoObject POSTFI[in its resp Dimension] in the
Display RKF GrossSales1 Screen in the Left Hand Side Pane where we see the KeyFigures and Dimensions.
But I am NOT able to see the Nav Attr's ZINREPIND, ZFITMCD01, ZPCNR1 anywhere in the LHS Pane of the Display RKF GrossSales1 Screen.
Now I cant Create the RKF bcoz I cant see the 3NavAttr's of Char InfoObject PostFi it the LHS Pane and the 2-Nav Attr required for creating the RKF.
Can anyone PLEASE let me know How can I see/bring these Nav Attr ZINREPIND, ZFITMCD01, ZPCNR1 in the LHS Pane of the RKF Creation Screen to add them to make my RKF ?
    Thanx in Advance

    Hi
As per your explanation, below are the details
POSTFIPOSTFI --- This is navigational attribute which has below 3 objects as navigation attrs.
    1. ZINREPIND Reporting Indicator
    2. ZFITMCD01 Statement 01 Financial Item
    3. ZPCNR1 Profit Center Indicator
first one, could you please confirm whether POSTFIPOSTFI is main info object or it is attribute of another info object.
If it is attribute of another info object, then the last attibutes(3) are called Transitive attribute(attributes attribute).
Reporting on Transitive attributes is only possible with the creation Info Sets.
If my guess is correct, then create Info Set based two info cube now create the query.
    Hope it will work

  • SAP BI CKF,RKF descrptions are not reflecting in the universe

    Dear Gurus,
    I have couple of questions
1.I have created a BI quey with 2 calculated keyfigures and 2 Restricted keyfigures. When i am creating a universe on  top of the BI query, Desrptions for Calculated and Restricted keyfigures are not reflecting in the universe, Rather the universe is showing UID(unique ID)'s of the CKF and RKF.
To get the descriptions into the universe, Do i need to do any settings?
    2. In one of the documents I have read that we have to create one universe for one language if i want to see the report in Multiple languages. if it is so,
Do i need to create universe in each and every language or is there any option that i can create the universe in one language and replicate into the required languages?
    Please help.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hello Jagadeesh,
I recommend to post this query to the [Integration Kits - SAP|BusinessObjects Integration Kits; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to the BusinessObjects Integration Kit for SAP.
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all SAP Kit queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

    Hi ingo,
do you see the desriptions in items like the RSA1 ? - I can able to see the descrptions of Calculated keyfigure and Restricted keyfigure in the query designer and as well as in Bex analyzer.
did you use the same language when building the universe connection ? - Yes I have created the connection and universe in English Language.

  • Copy and Paste of RKFs and CKFs

    Hi All,
How can i copy a RKF and paste/use it and change its tech name and a few restrictions among all restrictions.
    Regards
    Arun

    Hi Arun,
Just CRTLC for copying and CRTLV for pasting the RKF's or Formulas or any object in Query Designer in a particular query.
This is not possible to one query to other query... as said by prakash.

  • BO Explorer - using RKF and CKF of a query

    Hi,
I am currently in the learning phase of Business Objects 4.1 tools and have some unanswered questions.
I have recently started learning about the Explorer tool and was wondering whether there is a way I can use BEx queries as source in the Explorer tool. For now, I have created a relational data universe over the InfoCube using the Information Design Tool and used this new universe as a source in the Explorer tool but this did not bring in any of the existing BEx restricted key figures and calculated key figures.
Are there any other ways I can connect directly to the BEx query directly to take advantage of the defined restricted key figure and calculated key figure. There are about 100 RKF and CKF over an InfoCube and I would really like to take advantage of the existing elements.
I read through the discussion forums and found couple of different replies based on the version number.
Please do guide me if you have resolved a similar issue. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the reply Ajay. I was following the below thread that mentions about creating universe using XI 3.1 and then using the constructed universe through Explorer. Is this available in BO 4.1, please do explain about this if possible.

  • Percentage Calculation using RKF and CKF

    Hi,
I am unable to create a CKF which calculates % of a key figure (Net PO value). The % has to be calculated on the overall total of the column.
My scenario does not allow me to use formulas to do so. So I had to create a RKF which uses my key figure and I restricted it with Vendor (Constant Selection) which was in my rows. Then I created a CKF which calculates the percentage using this restricted key figure. But when I go into my query analyser and open this query and try to restrict the vendors to only a few, the percentage is still calculated to the entire vendors for that particular company code.
Is there another way to solve this problem where I could get the percentage values according to as many vendors I filter the report on?
    Many thanks

    Hello I A,
Go to Query Designer, select you key figure and in "calculations tab" select: Calculate individual values as--> Normalize after overall result (8th option).
I hope this helps! (in that case rewrd pts please )

  • Help Regarding the Formula Variable

    Hi,
We have a scenario where  "CKF = RKF/Formula Variable". When we execute a Query in BEx Analyzer, for this particular CKF values are displaying as 'X'. (i.e Numeric values are not displaying)
When we check in the backend data is available for the RKF.
Can someone please guide on how to validate whether the Formula Variable is working fine or not?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Seshendra Reddy

    Hello,
This post caught my attention because I am facing a similar problem.
I created a Formula Variable with replacement path on Posting Date (0DATE Char), with exception aggregation = MAX and results calc = MAX.  The purpose is to return the last posting date for a set of documents.  However, it seems that if Posting Date is not in the drilldown, then the formula formula returns 'X'.
This limitation is not mentioned in SAP help... and seems to be a pretty big constraint if the reference char on the replacement path formula variables must be in the drilldown.
Does anyone know how to work around this?
    Thanks!
    Jenni.

  • Bex reporting Ontime Performance KPI using RKF

    Hi
I'm working on On time performarnce report and I used below logic in ODS to Cube update rules , If days < 8 Ontime else Late.
Now In the Bex Query I'm using RKF to find the number of items on time = TOTAL ITEMS & restricting by ontime flag above AND number of items late = TOTAL ITEMS and late flag.
When I run the init load its working but when the delta runs I'm getting negative items count (On time or late) and its not matching with total items when I add the ontime and late...
So I changed the logic in update rules to bring the flag only for record mode = 'N' (For deltas only initialization done normally). Now I'm not getting negatives but my on time and late counts are not matching with total number of items and sometimes its more than total items when I add the on time and late items...Can any one please advice how to get this...Thanks

Can you please try reloading and doing a fresh load.
I think there is still some problem in your calculation. Please check once restricting in the Info Provider if the values are coming as expected.
Do post back if the issue is not solved.
Please do close the thread if that answers your questions. Please help us keep the forums clean and open useful information only.

  • BWA 7.2 RKF and CKF

    Ongoing from Jamie Hylton's thread...
If we had BWA with the blades configured for both SBOE and BW access - in what scenario does BW access actually get to use the "query snapshot" functionality?
We read that BWA 7.2 comes with RKF and CKF but as far as I see - this only applies to the CKFs and RKFs in the query snapshot load for SBOE and not for normal BW access
    Or did I read wrongly?

    Hi
You can use BWA 7.20 with BW 7.01 SP05 and the indexing RKF and CKF functionalities are supported only with this combination of BWA and BW and finally reporting in Explorer.
Also as Marc has mentioned the exploring of data with the Infoproviders having RKF and CKF is possible only in Explorer.
The CKF and RKF as part of Multiprovider Snapshot Index can also be used to explore the data in the Explorer.

    Hope this helps!

  • Can we have the RKF logic in transformation?

    Hello all,
we have a lot of RKF created in our queries. I was wondering if we can write the same kind of logic in transformation itself like by writing some kind of code.
The RKF we have is we are restricting the key figure by some characteristic. Example we are restricting the key figure with depending on the characteristics "Status" and its values. Like RKF Approved has the key figure and value of "Status" as approved. Pending RKF as Pending Value of "Status"
Can we right some kind of like this logic in the transformation and include those many key figure in our cube so these RKF/key figures will be stored in cube rather than being calculated on the fly and the performance will be good?
    Thanks all in advance.

    Hi Kris,
You can implement some ABAP logic in the update routines/transformations.
You have to assign/map the original key figure from the info source to the key figure in the cube(RKF).
In the mapping of the key figure use update type addition and update method as Routine.
In the routine, you can check for the characterisitic value of the characteristic Status in the incoming record and assign the key figure value in the infosource to the key figure in the target (RKF).
For each restrcted key figure you will have the corresponding key figure in the cube model and map it to the key figure(which was used in RKF definition) from the infosource.
If you are using transformation, use routine as the rule type and implement the logic in the routine.
PN - You are right the advantage of having key figures in the model would reduce the query response time, however it increases the loading time.
    Hope it helps,
    Regards,
    Sunmit.

  • How to copy RKF and to change the techincal name ?

How to copy RKF and to change the techincal name ?

    Editing restricted key figures:
Note that when you change a restricted key figure, these changes are effective in all queries that use this restricted key figure.
You can see where the restricted key figure is used. Choose Where-used List from the context menu of the restricted key figure (secondary mouse click).
           1.      In the InfoProvider objects display frame, select the restricted key figure and, from the context menu (right-mouse click), choose Edit.
           2.      Make the required changes.
           3.      Choose OK.

  • Difference bet RKF & Filter

I having confusion in Restricted keyfigure & Filter.
As far as my understanding , filter will restrict the entire Query by the selection criteria & RKF resticts only that particular characteristic.
In one of the scenarion the filter is resticter by 2 infoproviders.
0infoProvider - PG0R_CTM & PG0R_CTQ.But In One of the resricted Key figure its resticted by PGOR_CTI.
    Is this correct?
    Reagrds,
    Anita

    Hi Anita,
Filter restricts whole Query result where as RKF restricts only selected KF.
For Example: Lets assume we have 'company code' in filter and it is restricted by '0040'.Query output will be for only '0040'.
If u restrict a KF with '0040' in RKF, then only that KF data will be restricted by '0040'.
Restricted key figures are (basic) key figures of the InfoProvider that are restricted (filtered) by one or more characteristic selections. Unlike a filter, whose restrictions are valid for the entire query.
For a restricted key figure, only the key figure in question is restricted to its allocated characteristic value or characteristic value interval. Scenarios such as comparing a particular key figure for various time segments, or plan/actual comparison for a key figure if the plan data is stored using a particular characteristic, can be realized using restricted key figures.
