Hi,
SAP SRM simplifies and automates procurement. The SAP SRM process integrates supplier qualification, negotiation, and contract management more tightly and cost-effectively with other enterprise functions and their suppliersu2019 processes u2013 through a single framework with support for multichannel suppliers.
Supply chain management (SCM) is the process of planning, implementing and controlling the operations of the supply chain as efficiently as possible. Supply Chain Management spans all movement and storage of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods from point-of-origin to point-of-consumption.Supply Chain Management can also refer to Supply chain management software which are tools or modules used in executing supply chain transactions, managing supplier relationships and controlling associated business processes.
Since you have already worked in the SCM field you can opt for SRM to enhance your skills.

Vijay

SCM Installation and Administration.
Hi All,
My next project is to install SCM 7.0 and LiveCache and to administrate the same. I have already worked in ECC 6.0 and SRM 5.0. As a SAP Basis administrator, I need to know what are the activities i should know in regards to SCM & LiveCache administration.
Can somebody help me in thig regards and list down the activities which SAP Basis person should be knowing in SCM Environment.
ThanksHi ,
Thanks for reply
I am confused in SCM & Live cacache post installation activity. Please help me to clear out following doubts
1) As per SCM Inst. guide 7.0 SR1, post installation activity "5.13BI-Specific Post-Installation Steps", We need to do client copy and BI specific.
2) In the Same guide there is a activity "5.17Performing the Client Copy".
3) In Live 7.7 cache inst. guide, post installation activity "5.1.1Setting Up the Connection to the liveCache Instance".
I have gone through these two guides. Please clear out following doubts.
1) As per SCM Inst. guide , Do we need separate client for BI-Specific activity and one more client for other acivity. OR we should have only one client for BI-Specific and SCM Specific activyt. So DO we required two separate clients ?. OR there always only one Production client in SCM system ?
2) As per LiveCache inst. Guide, in the post installation activity we need to set up a connection. Is this connection to above mentioed BI-Specific client or other production client.?
I am little confused. Please reply.

Active Directory, single sign-on and SRM Users
We are in the process of installing SRM 7.0. using the Classic Scenario. I am seeking clarification around the creation of users in that system given the following:
- My Basis colleagues are in the process of implementing single sign-on using Active Directory for our SAP Portal, SAP Business Warehouse and SRM systems.
- Single sign-on will not at this point be used for our SAP ECC 6.0 system
My questions are:
1. If active directory is being used do we need to create actual users within the SRM system?
2. If actual users in the SRM system are not required, does this have any impact on the creation of the Organizational structure in SRM from the SAP ECC HR hierarchy?
Many ThanksHi Claire,
The Single Sign On work only if user exist on every systemes.
For example :
If you connect trough portal to access ECC and SRM, your user id must exist in ECC and SRM.
For Active Directory you can synchronize your user table to AD by using LDAP option.
The best way is to configure a CUA for ECC and SRM, use the UME of Portal on ECC and synchronize the CUA to Active Directory.
Finally use the SSO certificate between Portal ECC and SRM.

What's the difference between SNC and SRM?
we will sell SNC in Q2.But i don't know what is the difference between SNC and SRM.
i've heard SNC suit Direct procurement better than SRM...
Pls give me the advice and information.
good regards kenjiHi Kenji,
SRM is more of Supplier Identification and SNC work of building
relationship with Supplier starts after this Supplier identification.
SNC is very Good tool to handover Inventory replenishemnt
to Suppliers and it gives Visibility of inventory information over Web UI.
SNC has many processes like PO Collaboration, SMI, DR,DCM, SNI,
Invoice Collaboration,Release process...to accomplish above mentioned task.
SNC is designed for direct materials procurement.
SRM has contract negotiations, bids, auctions for sourcing to identify suppliers
SRM is good for basic purchasing fuctionality and suitable for indirect materials.
In addition to all these SNC has Customer Collaboration functionality also.

Reconcilation of Customer and Vendor from CRM and SRM to 0bpartner in BI
Hi,
I am having customer master data and vendor master data in ECC both represents the same numbers .Ex: 10001 - customer1 and 10001 - vendor1.
I am sending this data from ECC system to CRM and SRM system and again Iam loading this data into 0BPARTNER Infoobject in BW from CRM and SRM systems.
In BW it is messing up, when i do a report on CRM cube it show me the vendor descriptions where i supposed to see customer descriptions .
I can't change the ECC customer and vendor numbers since i need to change all other legacy systems depending on this .
Can any one tell me how to fix this problem and your help is truly appreciated.

Hy to all,
i'm interesting about bw7.0. I know that bps is integrated in it. Do you know if CPM and SRM are integrated in it too? Which are the transaction code of CPM and SRM.
Thanks in advanced
Best regards
DarioHi,
Even though BPS is intergrated into BI 7.0, still CPM, BCS, BIC, SRM are part of SEM 6.0.

Clariffications in MM SUS Scenario with ECC 6.0 backend and SRM 5.0
Dear Team,
We are implementing MM SUS Scenario with ECC 6.0 backend and SRM 5.0
We need to following clarifications
1 Once we create ASN in SUS, how to cancel the ASN. We are not able to see cancel button for ASNs
2 When we create GRN in ECC against the inbound delivery and perform Return Delivery, this Return Delivery is getting updated in SUS. But the ASN status is not changing to canceled. We are not able to perform new ASN for this. Also invoice is being allowed for these ASNs. How to control the same.
Request your inputs please

RaviHI can you tell me how you get it solve?

Separate the Delegation for T&E and SRM in UWL
Hello Experts,
We have the integrated portal which is communicating to ECC and SRM system.
There is a requirement to delegate the SRM tasks i.e Shopping cart approval alone.
The T& E task should go as usual.
By using the Manage Substitution rule if we set All then all the work items are going to the delegated user.
Please help to achieve this.
And also please share your inputs on Functional, Desciplinary, Strictly Confidential delegation.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Senthil Kumar S.This can be achieved by maintaining task classes and assigning substitution profiles to task classes as per your needs.
Then you can assign the required tasks to the task classes.
There is a very well explained document on this scenario.
Check this document to achieve what you are looking for:

Material replication between SAP and SRM
Howdy friends.
Is there any way to stop having to manually activate the material replication queue between SAP and SRM each time please?
Our admin team go to transaction SMQ2 each day and for 2-3 years have been manually activating each queue manually and doing this several times per queue as the entries do not reach zero. Surely, it is possible to set this up to be automatic as a job?
Ciao,

Can any one guide me what is role and responsibilities of SCM and APO and Live cache administration as part of Basis.
I will be great help if any one can guide me in SCM and APO and LIVE cache administration.

FarooquiHi Farooqui
Since this Forum handling more application related topic, it is better to post your question in different Forum "MaxDB/liveCache ".
Above MaxDB/liveCache is handling more basis and liveCache related topic.
As a general information, SAP provides following documens that describe task and check point related to SCM system and liveCache. So I recommend you to check following 3 documents.
URL : http://service.sap.com/solutionmanagerbp
Number
44 System Monitoring for SAP APO (3.x) / mySAP SCM (4.x/5.0)
34 Monitoring and Administration for SCM / APO
42 Checklist for Recovery of SAP APO liveCache >= 7.4
Also there are some documents that describe liveCache behavior, so for better understanding,
I also recommend you to check following 2 documents. (The information is bit old. but it might be helpful to understand liveCache).
