Regarding screen painter tutorial

hi,
i am new to screen painter & i want to start working on it as i have been assigned a report.
plzz help me by giving d easiest example of performing it as help will be definately rewarded.

Screen Painter
Screen Painter is an ABAP Editor tools allowed us to create dialog screen. Dialog screen usually created as a screen to catch user input. It can be accessed by tcode SE51.
Screen Painter Architecture
You use the Screen Painter to create and maintain all elements of a screen. These are:
Screen Attributes
Describe a screen object in the R/3 System. Screen attributes include the program the screen belongs to and the screen type.
Screen layout
Screen elements are the parts of a screen with which the user interacts. Screen elements include checkboxes and radio buttons.
Elements
Correspond to screen elements. Fields are defined in the ABAP Dictionary or in your program.
Flow logic
Controls the flow of your program.
Two Screen Painter Modes
The Screen Painter has a layout editor that you use to design your screen layout. It works in two modes:
Graphical mode and
Alphanumeric mode.
Both modes offer the same functions but use different interfaces. In graphical mode, you use a drag and drop interface similar to a drawing tool. In alphanumeric mode, you use your keyboard and menus.
Graphical mode is available only on MS Windows 95, MS Windows NT, and Unix/Motif platforms.
To activate the graphical mode, choose Utilities ® Settings in the Screen Painter, then select the Graphical layout editor option.
Creating a Screen: Basics
Create a screen in an existing program and define its attributes.
Design the screen layout and define the attributes of the elements.
Write the flow logic.
Basic Principles
Uses predefined elements with links to the ABAP Dictionary or program.
Supports forwards navigation.
Supports complex elements: Table Control and Tabstrip Control, and Custom Container.
Cut/ Copy/ Paste (Graph. fullscreen)
Undo/ Redo (Graph. fullscreen)

Regarding Screen Painter object modification adjustment in SPAU

Hi all,
We are upgrading SAP 4.6 C to ECC 6.0.I have query related to SPAU transaction.
<b>How do we adjust the modification for Screen in SPAU transaction. The traffic light in front of screen object is Green.</b>
I have gone through the help.sap.com also but the screen adjustment document is not valid for ECC 6.0 , it's valid for ECC5.0.
Can anybody suggest what exactly is to be done in this case if anybody has done it on ECC 6.0 . Has anybody done it earlier in any ECC6.0 Project?

Regarding the flow logic in screen painter

I am a BW guy and i am new to ABAP and i need your help to solve my problem.
I have created a table for master data(zemp_data) in R/3 se11..which has fields like zempid,zempname,zmgrid,zdeptid,zdeptname and i have created the respective fields in screen painter too but my problem is i dont know how to link this fields in the screen painter to the fields in table .to be more clear i want the flow logic or module pool code to link this table when i give an entry in the screen painter for the respective fields..i will really appreciate your answers and award the maximum points for the usefull answer ..as i dont know ABAP much if it is a step by step approach ..that would be helpfull

Please consider the following
In the screen...the fields must be from the database table in Se11..(in screen painter -> use.."get from Dictionary" -> enter the table name -> select the fields -> drag and drop on the screen) or must have the same name in the database table..This will be a link but unless you code to fetch values from database or update values to database there will be no action taking place
Usually in the PBO(process befor output) we write the code to display values before we accept data from the user ie,set default values on the screen if required and prepare the screen for user input
in the PAI of the screen painter we can do data processing ie, data validations,checks and saving based on what the user wants
So imagine you have buttons placed on the screen and there are buttons from standard application bar like BACK,SAVE, set using PFstatus..all the user actions will be linked to a function cod..ie whenever user presses a button we can uniquely idntify what was pressed by assigning a function code to each button in the menu painter or PF status and do the action accordingly
Assume that you have created a push button on the screen painter and assigned it a function code "PUSH"
so whenever you press the button in the variable sy-ucomm "PUSH" will be captured..this you can check in PAI for the screen like
Case sy-ucomm.
when 'PUSH'.
do the needful coding
when 'SAVE'
Modify database table
endcase.
you can check the standard demo programs in SE38 -> program name-> display for basic ABAP coding you have asked for
(1)demo_dynpro_input_output .
(2)demo_dynpro_dictionary
(3)demo_dynpro_push_button

I want to increase the height of the input output field in the screen painter.
ie, multiline input output field.Is there any means?

when u drag n drop some fields in the screen goto to one of the corners of dat fields drag to the extend u want to increase.
or in attributes section for u length n width of dat fields are available just increase to your wish.

Regarding Module Pool Screen Painter

Dear All,
Hi all. When i am using 4.7 i am able to see all the icons like check box .radio buttons,push buttons ,table control and all . There i can drag and drop on the screen easily . I can see this all icons on the left side in the screen painter. In ecc i tried to create a module pool program. In that screen painter i am not able to see these icons in that screen .
When i am clicking on layout on initial screen it is showing ''''EU_SCRP_WN32 : timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPCMRCV' '''' . That is also in text format with some lines and all. I was totally struck here . Please help me in this .

In that case u need to write the code behind ur form and should go for creation of ard file and must take ur form thro addon installation process. these are xplained in SDK Help file & Tutorial.

Error while opening a screen painter

I am trying to modify a screen in SE80. But when i am clicking on the screen painter it shows 'EU_SCRP_WN32 : timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPCMRCV'

For the Future Problem Facers:
I too faced the same problem and the below steps helped me.
Re: SFLIGHT is NOT defined for the current logical database.
You can check the completeness of the program installation by starting the program gneux.exe locally in the SAPGUI directory (for example, by double-clicking on the program name in the Explorer window).The Layout Editor is displayed with German texts and an empty drawing area for the pseudo screen EUSPDYND 0000.
If the installation is not complete, an error dialog box provides information regarding the cause of the error, for example, sometimes the DLL eumfcdll.dll is missing after reinstalling the SAPGUI. For example, the eumfcdll.dll DLL was sometimes missing after the SAPGUI was reinstalled.

To get Drop Drown Box on screen .
Follow these steps.
1.
Go to T.Code SE51 and Select Laypout for the Screen.
2.
Double click on the field for which u want Dropdown box.
3.
Then U will see Name ,Text ,DROPDOWN.Click on that and select List Box or ListBox with key . Better to to select first one.
4.
Save and Activate ur screen .
5.
Enter the following piece of code in the PBO of the screen.(Change for ur requirement).
6.
The following code should be written under PROCESS BEFORE EVENT in the MODULE.

2.1.How to create or display default date and time values?
1.
create input field for DATE and TIME on screen.ex. DATE1 and TIME1 are screen field names .
2.
Just assign SY-DATUM to DATE1 and SY-UZEIT to TIME1 under PROCESS BEFORE EVENT.
3.How to create text box for giving comments?
1.
Define one variable in the TOP include with type STRING means Global variable.
2.
Create one input field by giving screen field name which u have defined in the above step.
4.How to store the records that we are entering in a table?
For this case.. Create one table control. you can select one record and create record in the Z table by pressing button on Application toolbar..
Check the following steps to handle Table control.
1).
U should take one variable in your internal table or in structure which
is used for table control fields

   Module read_table_control.

In this Module read_table_control, You should write the following code
MODULE read_table_control INPUT.
MODIFY itab INDEX tabc-current_line."( This will update the
"ITAB table MARK field with 'X ' whatever we have selected
"on table control.)
ENDMODULE.
4)
If you want to Delete some of the records from Table control
follow this code Create one pushbutton and give Fucnction code to that
and write below code
CASE OKCODE.
WHEN 'CREATE'.
LOOP AT itab WHERE mark = 'X'.
"Use UPDATE statement to create new record.
ENDLOOP.
ENDCASE.

I'm making one report program in which im calling one screen which i have designed, in my selection screen there is a select option for customer tht accepts value range now i want to select all the customers entered in select options and pass these values in screen(screen painter).

Screen painter is a tool in ABAP dev workbench used to create the screens using the
T-code SE51. In the screen painter, you can define the following interface elements with their associated attributes.
1. Input/Output Fields
2. Field Names
3. Checkboxes
4. Radio Buttons
5. Group Boxes
6. Sub screens.
7. Pushbuttons with No Fixed Position
Create a Z program in tcode SE38.
Go to transaction SE51.
Enter the created program name and screen number.
Click on flowlogic tab.
Uncomment the statement u201C MODULE STATUS_0100 u201C.

    WHEN 'EXIT'.
      LEAVE PROGRAM.
    WHEN 'BACK'.

How to read the contents of Input Field created via Screen Painter?

Hi All,
I have a module program / dialog program, on my second screen, I created an input/outbox field via screen painter of course,
now in my PAI, how can I read the contents of the input/outbox field?
Let's say the name of my input/outbox field is: P_WEKRS. Note: Get Parameter and Set Parameter is ticked.
PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
LOOP WITH CONTROL TC_DATA.
MODULE MODIFY_DATA.
ENDLOOP.
I want to get the value of the input/outbox field before my loop in table control? I thought that it will work like normal parameter in non-dialog programs.
Any helpful inputs will be appreciated/rewarded.

Add the Bellow Module code in you Driver Program.
MODULE read_or_change_value.
DATA: P_WEKRS like " the Field on Screen. Must be the same name as on SCREEN. and Type must be same too.
" Here you will find the Value in that Variable or if you will change the Value here you will find it change on Screen
END MODULE.

How to enter values in ztable from screen painter

Hi guys,
I have a scenario,where i have to enter values in ztable for the values entered in screen painter.The screen painter is supposedly having 10 columns. i enter the value in the grid(table) and when i save, the records have to be inserted into ztable created by me. how to go through the problem. kindly help in giving a flow for the problem .If anybody has gone through this scenario please help out.

if ur entering one record at a time from sreen to table then
u have to use ,
in pai module of the screen u have to code,
case sy-ucomm.
when 'SAVE'.
ztable-roll = ztable-roll.
ztable-name = ztable-name.
insert ztable/modify ztable.
ENDCASE.
if ur screen is having a table control
then u have to create a loop inside a module.
like
loop at tabcontrol_name
module insert_data.
endloop.
and in the doubleclked module,
move-corresponding ztable to ztable.
insert ztable.
Note : in both cases u have selected input fields as from
table/dictionary in the screen.

Hope u have reached Screen painter interface,
1. Click 'Add Grid' from tool bar.
2. Go to 'Collections' tab in 'Properties' window.
3. Choose 'Data Tables' from the Drop down list.
4. Click 'New' found at the bottom of the Properties Window(same window)
5. U'll find the place to insert ur query.
6. U can rename the table name from 'DT_0'
7. Choose type as 'Query'
8. Clear content from box 'Query'
9. Enter ur query there. Dont forget to Click 'SET'
10. Go to Preview option from tool bar.
now ur query will be displayed as table format.
Note: First try with simple query b4 going for linking option.
