I want to know what are all the Adapters available in Seeburger and usage of each Adapter. I am aware of some Adapters like AS2,BIC adapters.

Mapping and Error handling in Seeburger Adapters ?

Hi,
1. In B2B integration part of PI.Whats the way of doing mapping in XI mapping editor and error handling in the mapping ?
2. Do you think SEEBURGER BIC mapping designer is must for developing maps ? cant we develop same maps in XI mapping editor?

Whats the way of doing mapping using seeburger adapters
The standard mappings are part of Seeburger Suite and if any additional mapping has to be accommodated, then custom mapping could be developed in Seeburger BIC Mapper tool. This has to deployed on adapter engine then. The other mapping is the normal XI mapping (message, java, xsl) which could be performed based on business logic.
error handling in the mapping ?
The easiest way is to raise Alert based on the errors in mapping.

Wheni go thru my adapters list i didn't find Seeburger AS2 adapter in the list, but my client wants to use the Seeburger AS2 adapter for their scenario's. What should i do in order use the Seeburger AS2 adapter. Is it a third party adapter? do we need to get any license from SAP to use this adapter. Or is there any equivalent adapter available in XI for seeburger AS2 adapter. Kindly suggest

Hi,
Yes your understanding is right. Normally for B2B the customer sends data over WAN or through Mailbox and ususally the data is encrypted using digital certificate for security reasons.
For B2B the data is send in EDI format (EDIFACT,TRADACOM,INHOUSE and many more) and the seeburger adapters like AS2,X400,OFTPS are used to convert the EDI format to XML and viceversa..

Hi,
The most direct way of using the Seeburger adapters is to configure the BIC as a module. There is a software component from seeburger called bicmapper which will allow you to do the following:
1. define or import the inbound message metadefinition in various formats ( edifact, xml,...)
2. using a mapping create an xml variant as the output metadefinition or edifact in the other direction.
3. create a one to one mapping between input en output.
4. export the metadata in xsd or sda format for import in XI
5. generate an SDA which can be deployed in XI and used as a module.

Seeburger adapters like OFTPS,AS2,X400 are used for B2B scenario where the file is coming through WAn network or mailbox. As XI dont have capability to convert the EDIFACT format file to XML the same work will be done by seeburger adapters.
The SEEBURGER Business Integration Converter (BIC) is an any-to-any format converter, used to translate EDI data and legacy data formats into XML and vice versa. It can also be used for complex, high performance XML-to-XML mappings or to interface to existing JDBC data sources.
Supported EDI formats include:
ANSI
EDIFACT
INHOUSE
IDOC
XML Schema
XML DTD
CSV
Delimited Data
positional data
SWIFT
EANCOM
and many more.
See for converting the EDI XML to EDI and XML-EDI you need to have a seeburger mapping program at the adapter module which does the conversion. For this module you need a BIC tool of seeburger which provides the different module program for EDI to XML and XML-EDI. This program needs to be deployed on XI and through adapter it has to be called for conversion.

Handling EDIFACT Files in File adapter without going for Seeburger adapters

Hi Guys,
Is it possible to convert the EDIFACT files into XML using File content conversion?
We got some requirement where we need to exchange EDIFACT files like DESADV and ORDERS with our partner. I know we can handle these EDI formats using Seeburger adapters like BIC,AS2.
I'm just wondering is it possible to handle these files using FCC in File adapter or Is it recommended to go for Seeburger?

Mapping and Monitoring in B2B(Seeburger adapters) scenarios

Hi All,
   I would like to go for B2B integration using SEEBURGER adapters in place.In that case where should i do the EDI mapping ? Can it be done using Message mapping in XI or SEEBUERGER BIC is mandatory for mapping ? Right now i have only SEEBURGER adapters in place but no SEEBURGER BIC.How should i procced ?
How monitoring of messages will be done in XI with SEEBUERGER ADAPTERS ?

Seeburger Adapters and EHP1 Installtion

We are running PI 7.10 with Seeburger Adapter 2.1.3 and we are planning to install EHP1.
I cannot find any information how to deal with Seeburger adapter components during EHP1 installation.
I am wondering if anybody went through this process already.

We have done an EhP1 upgrade with SeeBurger adapters. First you need to check if the existing SeeBurger adapter version fits well with the PI 7.11. This you can check with SeeBurger. If not, you can ask them to provide for a solution for the same. So basically, you will have to coordinate with the SeeBurger team for getting the right versions. After your upgrade to PI 7.11, you just have to follow the steps as mentioned in the SeeBurger Installtion guide that your SeeBurger consultant refers.

Regarding Seeburger Classifier Module

Dear Expert,
I am using Seeburger EDI Adapter to handle EDI plain file into SAP XI. As I just want to use the Seeburger build-in mappings start with "See_", I did not set the parameter classifierMappingID of Seeburger Classifier Module, but always get the output of Seeburger Functional Acknowlegement. How can I set the parameters to use the build-in mappings like "See_E2X_ANSIX12_810_V4010"?

Hi Nick,
you need to choose if you want to use classifier or predefined mapping name. The purpose of classifier is to classify your message (exp. ANSI 12, EDIFACT etc.) and than to find the mapping specified in Seeburger Message splitter (from http://<XI Host>:<J2EE port>/seeburger/index.html -> Message splitter).
In Message splitter you need to choose you sender agreement from XI, Mapping name and sender number (for ANSIX12 it's the value of ISA06 from inbound ANSI message).
Please check Seeburger manual SAPXI_FunctionalAck_en.pdf.
If you need your communication channel to process only ANSIX12_810_V4010 messages than you don't need classifier and you can hardcoded parameter mapping name "See_E2X_ANSIX12_810_V4010".

So this means your customer has purchased a Seeburger adapterlicense which will come with documentation for PI. Use that as first entry point. Such a general question you can not handle well in forum answer.
General first hints:
Seeburger delivers an EDI-adapter which will be deployed into PI. This adapter contains functionality to map between XML and EDIfact format. It also contains (normally) some standard mappings (e.g. for invoice). But be VERY careful with these standard mappings. Not all of them can be used without change. Make detailed tests and do not rely on them.
The BIC mapping designer is not used in PI, but you can see it as a kind of external development or debugging tool in case of problems. You will surely use it, because there are many pitfalls regarding EDIFact and XML/PI. The topic is quite complex.

Query regarding Seeburger Classifier

Hello,
We have a problem with Russian characters where these are cut by AS2 adapter.
In order to analyze this,I have changed the configuration to use Classifier instead of giving fixed mapping name.
Now,I can see the log as:

Problem still persists.
Child Source Encoding and Child XML Encoding are always blank in the log.
I have tried setting source encoding using BIC module ,CharsetConversion module, and setSourceEncodingFromClassifier module.
Still ,I cant see any value in thes fields in the log.
Can anybody please let me know how can I populate these values.
I suspect that the problem with special characters is because of incorrect source encoding.

This is some mapping code (as used in the SEEBURGER standard mappings) from the NewMapping program, which passes the encoding input parameters to the child mappings.
