Regarding Selection views in LDB

Hi Experts,
What is use of Selection Views in LDB ??
and how can we generate different Selection Views in LDB because i am getting only two Options either SAP or CUS for every LDB ??
I want to declare 4-5 and how to use Those Selection Views ( as by default it takes SAP one or newly generated one)

When I run the T-code FBL1N at my place and click on Dynamic selections button,what I see that there are all the three options--Vendor Master,Company Code and Documents available.
You need to observe that against Vendor number there is no input box available but all the fields available under it till Company Code belong to Vendor Master.Similarly,all the fields mentioned under Comaony Code belong to Company Code and likewise all the fields mentioned under Documents like Special G/L Indicator,Assignment,Document number etc. belong to Document.

Regarding selection view in ldb KDF

Hello All,
In logical db KDF when i go to selection view i can see three function groups ie vendor master companycode and documents with their respective ids.
But when i execute report related with this logical database like tcode f.42 adn fbl1n i can see only two options in dynamic selections ie vendor master and company code where as documents option is missing
How can i get documents options back in the report or is there any program to regenerate these dynamic selections

Storing changes done to a selection view of a LDB in a TR

Hi Friends,
I do have a problem while storing the changes done to a LDB selection view in a TR. Please guide me on the same, below is the summary of changes done.
The requirement is as below:
Modified the STD LDB DDF's selection view.
Existing: Payment terms (ZTERM) taken from KNB1.
Required: Payment terms (ZTERM) to be taken from BSID.
So the changes we did are as follows:
Go to SE36>DDF>Extras>Selection views>Copy origin of view SAP to CUS and click on change.
Here we removed the input criteria for KNB1-ZTERM and added BSID-ZTERM as an input field. There was no TR prompted.
Please let us know how to get these changes stored in a TR.
We have also tried adding the below object in a TR# manually, but of no use.

Can you elaborate on your answers...as I have already created CUS (origin of view - a copy of SAP) it is not allowing me to create one more origin of view... can you tell me how to create another origin of view apart from CUS, so that I can start these changes afresh...
Also in SE03 even If i give DSEL and SAPDDFSTANDARD it is not displaying any objects and prompting to give a valid name...

Add field in dynamic selections to ME2A, to create aselection view in LDB

Hi all,
I would like to include in the search selection of ME2A the field 'Relevant for agency business', but this field doesn´t appear at the purchasing document . I´ve been reading that by the Logical database builder it is possible to do this, but I don´t manage how.
I've been trying (with transaction SE36) to copy from Source view - SAP to Target view - CUS for some logical database (for example LDB - ELM) and I havn't been success. I received Error "The selection view does not exist"
Which LDB should I choose? How to create a selection view STANDARD SAP ?

kindly note that as per SAP note 310886 Only certain tables or fields are permitted
Permitted tables:
SKA1: all fields
SKB1: all fields
BSIS: all fields
no other table is allowed
so your field BKPF-CPUDT is not allowed in dynamic selection

LDB/Report Category/Selection view

Hello,
I have a requirement to add a field onto the standard selection of the program PC00_M99_CWTR.
The field I need to add is PA0031-RFP01 (Reference personnel number). Can this be added??
I have been told that I can add this field to the dynamic selection screen by changing the fields
behind the logical database PNP. However, when I go into SE36 and enter the SELECTION VIEWS
option choose PNP and SAP STANDARD to display the system replies with 'The selection view does
not exist' ?????
How can I add fields when I can't see the SAP standard one to copy from.
Or should I be changing the reporting category.
Any help much appreciated.

Just wanted to know if it was possible or not. Sometimes with SAP it says you can do
something to the SAP standard and then you have to go and create a custom copy
having spent many hours in the first place!!

Hi Tamilarasan,
U can hide LDB field, in the following way.
1.In tables statement remove the table name for the fields
you done require.
2.You can modify the screen fields. LOOP AT SCREEN
3.In the program attributes you can choose the SAP defined
selection screen if provided.
Add can add new field, in the following way,
1.If it is Customer program then as normal way like
SELECTION-SCREEN: BEGIN OF BLOCK 1
SELECT-OPTIONS:
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK 1.
2. Goto SE36 and modify the selection views by creating 'CUS'.
All LBD will not have dynamic selection. If you want you can copy to Z* version and add the following statement to have dynamic selction
"SELECTION-SCREEN DYNAMIC SELECTIONS FOR TABLE" XXXX

Creating a Selection View : HR ABAP

Hi All,
How to create a selection view in HR Abap.
I found some information related to it.
Call the Object Navigator, (SE80), and from the Workbench menu, select
Edit object. Under More.., click Selection view and choose Create.
I tried it but unfortunately i got stuck.
Can anyone navigate me how can i create a selection view.

I got it sorted now, what you need to do is type /nse80 and before you enter the into the actual program for editing you will see workbench on the top left then the rest of the path is available, as described in the reading material!

If you are designing your own LDB with your own tables you can define tree structure and then the selection screen for the tables
if you wants to modify the std LDB of SAp means take the access key and to modify that code
if you add the extra field you have to modify the where conditions in the code also

A logical database is a special ABAP/4 program which combines the contents of certain database tables. You can link a logical database to an ABAP/4 report program as an attribute. The logical database then supplies the report program with a set of hierarchically structured table lines which can be taken from different database tables.

It offers check functions to check whether user input is complete, correct, and plausible. It offers reasonable data selections. It contains central authorization checks for data base accesses. Less coding s required to retrieve data compared to normal internel tables.
Tables used LDB are in hierarchial structure.
Mainly we used LDBs in HR Abap Programming.
Where all tables are highly inter related so LDBs can optimize the performance there.

Iam getting output based on the standard selection screen of LDB PSJ.

Hi,
You simply add the check in the relevant GET event of the LDB.
For example, you may have an event for DOCUMENT as follows.
GET DOCUMENT.
check document-ref in s_ref.
S_REF being your new select option.

How to Upload different Material with Different Selection View

Hello Experts!
Iu2019m new in ABAP and trying to understand methods of LSMW. Now I get a question for you guys. Let say I need to upload 10 different materials. Now for instance.
1st material has Basic data 1 and Basic data 2.
2nd material has Basic data 1, Purchasing and Purchase Order text
3rd material has Basic data 1, Classification, Purchasing, MRP 1, MRP 2 & MRP 3.
4th material has Basic data 1 & Basic data 2.
5th material has Basic data 1, Classification, Purchasing, MRP 1, MRP 2 & MRP 3.
And so on. Now here Iu2019ve notice that every material has different INDUSTRY SECTOR, MATERIAL TYPE AND SELECTION VIEWS. I understand that Industry Sector, Material Type and other data I can specify in my file but how I can control SELECTION VIEWS for different materials. Because for different Selection view coming screens will become different accordingly.
So can somebody can please tell me how I can control different select views for different material and upload it in SAP.

I understand that you are performing LSMW on MM01 transaction code..and are uploading through batch input in LSMW.
Actually, for a tcode like MM01 I dont think you should use LSMW, instead you can go with the BAPI: BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA.
The views is a serious problem with MM01 when performing using batch input..
So, go through the documentation in SE37 tcode for the BAPI...
The information you get there will help you on how to proceed.

Display MM03 screen with out selecting views using interactive list.

Hi Experts,
I have one query, I am displaying material data in a list. when i click on material number in the list it should show material data i.e should call MM03 with all the view data .
When i am using call transaction 'MM03' skip first screen. I am able to call MM03 screen but unable to skip the View Pop up screen it should be selected default and the veiw data should be displayed.
Ex: when i am clicking on materil number from the list it will directly take to the Basic data1 screen with out the pop up screen for selecting views.

but now it works... thanks..
kindly explain SET PARAMETER ID 'MXX' FIELD 'K'. hw it works... which filed parmeter id is MXX and y we have choosen 'K' ??

Selecting views in object browser crashes IE browser

in HTMLDB v2 navigate as follows:
SQL Workshop > Object Browser
in the select list (which defaults to Tables) select Views. This crashes the browser!!
Have installed the MS script debugger and this pops up the message:
A Runtime error has occured. Do you wish to debug?
Line: 50
Error: Object Required
The problem occurs for all options in the select list which do not have any objects of that type created in the schema. (ie if no views are created then it will crash. If you then create a view this option works fine)

I have the exact same symptoms as described in this thread.
I thought I had found the solution, but I use the HTTP Server that is included with Oracle RDBMS version 9.2. This config doesn't have any marvel.conf file. But I think this is the same as httpd.conf in my configuration (?). I had the AddType rows in there but they did not have any dots before "xbl" and "htc". So I changed the rows to:
AddType text/xml .xbl
AddType text/x-component .htc
... and restarted the HTTP Server but I still get the runtime error as you describe it.
Any ideas of what to do?

If you want to see the logincal database used in the report ( tcode se38) in the intial screen select the attribute tab
and click display you will bw able to see the logical datbase ysed for the report.
