Regarding self appraisal
Hi Experts,
I am currently working in Performance Management, my current task is regarding self appraisal.
Can anybody who have worked in self appraisal explain me the exact process flow .
I need to also know
1.Who all will take part other than the employee(self) and the manager..
2. Who starts the process and who completes the process .
3.And Various status in this process,.
I need your help very urgently......

process flow:
When the appraisal document is to be prepared / created by the HR or the reporting manager as the case maybe, the process will be "In preparation". The HR / RM will create the template with the necessary objectives and criteria, this will have the status "In planning". Once the document is released, the document is in "In process" stage.
In the "in process" stage, the employee can give his objectives and his ratings..if the manager has to review the template and check if the objectives given by his subordinate is correct then the employee can click on the button "Review" then the template will go to his RM for review, this process is "In review". If the objctives are prefixed the employee can straight away click on the start part appraisal process, in this scenario the process will still be in "In process" stage.
In part appraisal, the manager can give his rating and close the part appraisal process (In case the manager is the final appraiser, then he can close the appraisal document, then the appraisal process will be "Closed"), this document will then go to the final appraising authority who will thengive his rating and then closethe appraisal document.
Who all will take part other than the employee(self) and the manager..
If its 360 degree appraisal, the subordinates, peers and supervisor of the employee can assess an employee's performance. It depends on the client requirement.
Who starts the process and who completes the process
The HR/RM will start the process and will be closeed by the HR/RM or final reviewing oficer as the case maybe.
And Various status in this process

I have created a template for self appraisal. Created a document using this template This document expected to be in ESS view and not in MSS view.
Unfortunately am able to see in both views in portal.

Regarding Event Appraisal Functionality in Training and event management
Hi TEM gurus,
Client requirement is that an employee can give feedback for faculty daily. Suppose there is an event for 30 days and there are 5 instructors for this event. Now employee has to give feedback for all the instructor and day wise.
Is it possible for an employee to give feedback daily and for different instructors in training and event management ? How we can track the feedback given by the employee for different instructors day wise ?
I have given value as "A" in switch HAPP00 REPLA in T77S0 table. We have created different templates through OOAM.
While doing appraisal also i have to select employee individually and give event name again. Is there any way by which system can select all employees an event ID ?
kindly help me as ealry as possible.

Regarding your query on appraisal for every day of the business event, I am not sure if that's possible as it's the business event appraisal we are talking of here..and not the day. But I think individiual instructor appraisal should not be a problem.

Can someone describe the difference between these two codes:
1.

I get the impression that there is a memory leak in the second bit of code but not the first?The answer depends largely on whether or not automated garbage collection is enabled. Assuming it is, I'd say the differences are predominantly stylistic.
#1 will eat up a tiny bit more stack space with its local declaration of aViewController, but it will also be easier to debug since that variable will be readily visible without a lot of extraneous disclosure triangle drilling into whatever object self is an instance of. -
Substatus need to default with D while creating Appraisal doc

Am using few FM to create appraisal docs in In Review status and In planning status based on selection screen choose radio button now in my new req i need to default documents sub status with D ( Mid Year-Self Appraisal ) ... am trying to pass this as well in FM but am not sure which code also at which place i need to right to create doc with this substatus
table for this is T77HAP_SSTATUS .
and FM am using are HRHAP_DOCUMENT_PREPARE
and HRHAP_TEMPLATE_GET_DETAIL and few more inside these FM .
but am not finding the exact place where i can write logic in between standard code to create doc with
default substatus .= 'D'.
Pls any input on this will be big help for me

Oracle Performance(Talent) Management - Appraisal

I have a doubt regarding the self appraisal. When i fill out my self appraisal page, i get a TIP msg on the Page "Share appraisal details with Teammate"
the TIP msg is OM_HR_INST_APPR_PART_PAGE_SS.
Can anyone please help me with the solution as to how to get rid of this msg.

Access to appraisal document via ESS is restricted by status
Our requirement is for the appraisee to record their objectives (via ESS) and then select a 'To Manager' pushbutton to send a workflow to the manager requesting them to approve the objectives. The problem is that once the workflow has gone to the manager the appraisee cannot access the appraisal document until the manager has approved the objectives and the appraisal status has changed from 'In Planning' to 'In Process'. How can the appraiser view the appraisal document (via ESS) whilst it has the status In Planning?
We also have a similar issue later in the process. When the appraisee selects the <Close Part Appraisal> pushbutton to signify that they have completed their self appraisal the appraisal document has status In Process. The appraisee cannot access the appraisal (via ESS) until the appraiser also completes their part appraisal and sets the status to Completed. Is there a setting to allow the appraisee to have read access to the document during this part of the process?

Once the appraisal status has been set to 'Completed' the appraisee needs to Accept or Reject the appraisal but the appraisal now appears as display only (both in ESS and ECC). We are using BSP documents_received.htm for ESS
The 'Accept' and 'Reject' pushbuttons are not active in ESS
The 'Accept' and 'Reject' pushbuttons are active in ECC and update the appraisal status as required. However if the appraisal is rejected and the status is set back to 'In Process' the appraisal document is still display only.
Any ideas? -
Part appraiser in flexible PMS

Need your expert advise on flexible PMS process. We are implementing flexible PMS in EHP4 for a client. There is a requirement to send appraisal document to part appraiser after self review is done. We have defined status sub status as per this requirement. However part appraisal process is starting before self appraisal process in system. How to change and send part apparaisal docuemnt first to appraisee and then to part appraiser.Dear Sivani
Before the start of review phase, after mangager submits ratings & comments if he wants to add a new Part appraiser (Reviewer) - configure a new button which on selection the workflow goes to the HR / Appraisal administrator.
HR / Appraisal administrator should read the comments of Appraiser to add an additional Part appraiser (reviewer) * they should do the same in the backend using PHAP_ADMIN transaction. They can manually add them in edit mode of the particular appraisal document. Later, on submission by them the appraisal dicument should proceed to the review Phase.
This method is an workaround as their is no add option to appear in the appraisal document either by means of a BADI or by any development.
Note:- If you are using part appraisals then in 'In Proces' (final) phase - the first substatus or review should be done by Part Appraisers. Then onlt the status flow & Radio buttons will behave / appear correctly.

Appraisal for Training and Event Management

Hope every one doing well.
I have a requirement regarding the Appraisal of Attendee and send to its reporting manager for review and Manger may change the rating and completed or reject for re-appraise from the attendee.
Note: We are not using LSO, using old Training and event management and we don't have any ESS,MSS system simply doing in ECC system only.
here i need the notification for the reporting manager once the attendee save his ratings, if i do with old appraisal functionality with APPCREATE & APPCHANGE system is not giving any notifications to the reporting manager.
if i go to new appraisal system that is with PHAP_CATALOG and PHAP_ADMIN i am not able to get the course's what employee attended for the training.
please can any one share your view how to do this.

i can't go through new appraisal model with catalog & template, because client is not having ESS,MSS. appraisal has to done in the ECC only.
Done the customization like this :
created scales
created appraisal model and assign the scales
for appraisal, Employee can do from APPCREATE transaction rate his own ratings and save.
Now Appraiser (Manager) from APPCHANGE complete the appraisal.
now my requirement is (1) after saving the APPCREATE by the employee, notification has to go to his reporting manager only. (2) Manager can do review/change and complete the process to his Employees only (who are reporting to him)
how can i do this, standard functionality is there or i have to go for ABAP coding ? if ABAP coding what i have to ask them to do.
Please help in this requirement.

Appraisal (PD) on ESS
Dear Experts
I want one help from you regarding the appraisal workflow on ESS. All of my appraisal templates are ready and working fine on R/3. But now client want the appraisal functionality on ESS, as I am very new to the ESS functionality, so I dont know the basic settings of the appraisal module on ESS. I have seen one node of ESS under PD in R/3 IMG, i.e for initial skills group for profile maintenance. Even I dont find any node related to appraisal in the ESS node under Personal management in IMG.
Please guide me in this regard.

Does anyone know if this is still true? If you want to use appraisals in ESS you have to use the BSPs..? That's what I thought, too, but I have some documentation from the HR2008 conference (I did not attend) that has screenshots of the appraisals in ESS that look like web dynpro and interactive forms... I have not found any documentation on SAP Help. For anyone that attended the conference the slide deck is called "Enhance SAP ESS and SAP MSS Usability with SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe."
Can someone please clarify or share any info on what the lastest technology is? Thanks in adavnce!

we are using ecc5.0 and we have requiement from client on performance appraisal.
In ess employee should be able to fill the self appraisal and submit to manager.The manager should be able to open performance review form and fill the form and send both the self appraisal form and performanace appraisal form to hr after signing.
Is there any standard functionality in ecc5.0?

UshaWhat you are looking for can be done with standard with all the below activities.
1. Configure appraisal templates using PHAP_CATALOG_PA.
2. Create BSP iView for appraisal templates for employees, managers and others in portal using BSP application 'HAP_DOCUMENT-documents_received_open2.htm' (appraisal for employees) and 'HAP_DOCUMENT-documents_todo.htm' for managers and others.
Also, refer to SAP help on how to configure Appraisal templates. let me know if you need any further details. -
Customize Self Registration Portlet/Form?
I have succesfully added the Self Registration portlet to our site, but would like to customize the fields that the portlet uses, make some required, etc....
I find VERY little info regarding Self Registration, any suggestions???You have not mentioned the Portal version!!
Refer following for respective Portal version. For customizing the fileds, you may have to create your own custom self registration form for this. You have to use the DBMS_LDAP APIs to get the information updated in OID.

2.In Global Settings ,Under Self-Registration Options section, select Enable Users To Log On Immediately if you want users to be able to log on to Oracle9iAS Portal immediately after they create their own user account using the self-registration feature.
3.customize the Login portlet to include a self-registration link.

I found an article on Metalink that says to create the self-registration workflow using Quickstart, and then copy a link/URL that appears after saving the workflow.
I'm still wondering how to figure out what that URL is after-the-fact, i.e., if I forgot to copy the URL after creating the workflow initially??
