Regarding SmartForms -- Graphics Node
Hi,
I imported SAP logo (which is in sap.com site) using the transaction se78.
Now I am using this in my smartform for the graphics node.
But I am not getting the full picture.
Bottom portion of the picture is with some blue color like a rectangle.
What may be the problem?
Please help me soon.

If I try to get it printed , I got the error message like:

What does it mean?
What should I do to rectify the error and get the form printed.

Please don't mind. This is the second time I am sending question why because it is not solved yet.
I am not getting the full image of the graphic picture.
It is not the matter of size of the node or the size of the picture.
As you know the we can create a graphics node individually(without a window noe). If we insert a picture in that, it will be automatically incremented or decremented accordingly.
But I am not getting the lower portion of the picture.
Please let me know what may be the problem was.

If you are following the same steps :
se78 : to import the tiff file
then in smartforms using create-graphics
then you are going good . This should not lead you to the error . I think error reason would be something else.Might be something related tro size , is your image very big ?\
Please see have you successfully uploaded your image in SAP?
I am looking for it meanwhile you can try uploading another short image.

Regarding creation of node element
Hi
i hav a doubt regarding creation of node element. u can create new node element using method create(cn)Element available either directly from wdContext or from wdContext.node(cn) where cn is any context node.
can any one plz explain me what's the difference between two.
does it has any thing to with node being singelton or non-singelton?
also can anyone explain me the difference between add and bind method.

Regarding number of nodes in endeca cluster
Hi,
I have a question regarding number of nodes in the endeca server cluster.
Our solution contains one data domain running in a endeca cluster with two nodes.
Endeca server documentation recommends to run the cluster with atleast 3 nodes however our solution can't accomdate another server straight away.
Can anyone please suggest what are the implication of running the cluster with two nodes like
1. Can the cluster still serve the request if one node goes down?
2, How the leader promoting works if a node goes down?

You can definitely start with two nodes and then add another Endeca Server node later, if needed. It is recommended to run a cluster of three, for increased availability.
Here are some answers to you questions about the cluster behavior:
Q: Can the cluster still serve the request if one node goes down?
A: Quoting from this portion of the Endeca Server Cluster Guide > How enhanced availability is achieved:
Availability of Endeca Server nodes
In an Endeca Server cluster with more than one Endeca Server instance, an ensemble of the Cluster Coordinator services running on a subset of nodes in the Endeca Server cluster ensures enhanced availability of the Endeca Server nodes in the Endeca Server cluster.
When an Endeca Server node in an Endeca Server cluster goes down, all Dgraph nodes hosted on it, and the Cluster Coordinator service (which may also be running on this node) also go down. As long as the Endeca Server cluster consists of more than one node, this does not disrupt the processing of non-updating user requests for the data domains. (It may negatively affect the Cluster Coordinator services. For information on this, see Availability of Cluster Coordinator services.)
If an Endeca Server node fails, the Endeca Server cluster is notified and stops routing all requests to the data domain nodes hosted on that Endeca Server node, until you restart the Endeca Server node.
Let's consider an example that helps illustrate this case. Consider a three-node single data domain cluster hosted on the Endeca Server cluster consisting of three nodes, where each Endeca Server node hosts one Dgraph node for the data domain. In this case:
If one Endeca Server node fails, incoming requests will be routed to the remaining nodes.
If the Endeca Server node that fails happens to be the node that hosts the leader node for the data domain cluster, the Endeca Server cluster selects a new leader node for the data domain from the remaining Endeca Server nodes and routes subsequent requests accordingly. This ensures availability of the leader node for a data domain.
If the Endeca Server node goes down, the data domain nodes (Dgraphs) it is hosting are not moved to another Endeca Server node. If your data domain has more than two nodes dedicated to processing queries, the data domain continues to function. Otherwise, query processing for this data domain may stop until you restart the Endeca Server node.
When you restart the failed Endeca Server node, its processes are restarted by the Endeca Server cluster. Once the node rejoins the cluster, it will rejoin any data domain clusters for the data domains it hosts. Additionally, if the node hosts a Cluster Coordinator, it will also rejoin the ensemble of Cluster Coordinators.
Q: How the leader promoting works if a node goes down? See part of the answer above. Also, this: (from the same topic, but later in text)
Failure of the leader node. When the leader node goes offline, the Endeca Server cluster elects a new leader node and starts sending updates to it. During this stage, follower nodes continue maintaining a consistent view of the data and answering queries. When the node that was the leader node is restarted and joins the cluster, it becomes one of the follower nodes. Note that is also possible that the leader node is restarted and joins the cluster before the Endeca Server cluster needs to appoint a new leader node. In this case, the node continues to serve as the leader node.If the leader node in the data domain changes, the Endeca Server continues routing those requests that require the leader node to the Endeca Server cluster node hosting the newly appointed leader node.
Note: If the leader node in the data domain cluster fails, and if an outer transaction has been in progress, the outer transaction is not applied and is automatically rolled back. In this case, a new outer transaction must be started. For information on outer transactions, see the section about the Transaction Web Service in the Oracle Endeca Server Developer's Guide.
Failure of a follower node. When one of the follower nodes goes offline, the Endeca Server cluster starts routing requests to other available nodes, and attempts to restart the Dgraph process for this follower node. Once the follower node rejoins the cluster, the Endeca Server adjusts its routing information accordingly.
You may ask, why do you need three nodes then? This is to achieve the high availability of the cluster services themselves.
Quoting:
If you do not configure at least three Endeca Server nodes to run the Cluster Coordinator service, the Cluster Coordinator service will be a single point of failure. Should the Cluster Coordinator service fail, access to the data domain clusters hosted in the Endeca Server cluster becomes read-only. This means that it is not possible to change the data domains in any way. You cannot create, resize, start, stop, or change data domains; you also cannot define data domain profiles. You can send read queries to the data domains and perform read operations with the Cluster and Manage Web Services, such as listing data domains or listing nodes. No updates, writes, or changes of any kind are possible while the Cluster Coordinator service in the Endeca Server cluster is down — this applies to both the Endeca Server cluster and data domain clusters. To recover from this situation, the Endeca Server instance that was running a failed Cluster Coordinator must be restarted or replaced (the action required depends on the nature of the failure).

Can someone please confirm (or not) my theory about trees regarding save activated node in ApEx 4.0(.1):
With my first tree I tried to set a varchar2-value for the last selected node ... didn't work. After many tries I was succesful with changing this to a numeric value...
...Is this a bug or a feature? ;-)
Btw.
Another supposing regarding the source-code of trees is that this can't be longer than 4000 bytes. Is this right?
And if so ... can I put a Funktion in there that returns the statement (like in classic reports, but with static row-structure)?

Get looped SMARTFORMs Graphic via WD
Hi Experts,
i want to get a looped graphic (table containing a text has been constructed in Smartforms) in the PDF.
the table will be filled with a text( 10 till 1000 words) in a textedit UI-elemt( dynamic textedit with type TLINE). so each time the user click on 'write text' Button, a new textedit appears and the user can write his text there. in the end if the user have wrote 10 times texts in textedit UI-element( means 10 textedit UI-element will appear in Portal) this should also in the PDF appears.

the problem is , this component (table) in smartforms , should be called more than one time ( the same component) . if the user have wrote 2 or 3 or 4 texts ( each textedit UI-elemet contains a text in the Portal), all of those texts should be displayed on the PDF , and this component(table) in SMARTFORMS should be called each time for each text.

i am having an output :

for Eg,Like this are 10 line items, now while prining, at the bottom of the page it is printing the line item but sales tax and cst are starting on a new page, but the requirement is to display salestax and cst along with it .

All the above responses are very good but i think i had not get a clear picture.
Select your table node and in the table tab details you will find your line type on your line type you will find a check box with
No page break then check the check box it will solve your problem.
If the above problem is not solved your solution then the check the text element output options and above and below text elemtes also check whether any new line new cell are checked or not these two doesn't need to be checked and better to
write all the three in a single text element may be problem is with your new line & new cell options.
If not solved your problem please mention much clear what you did so we can get much clear idea.

Smartform - Command Node Issue
Hi Super-Techies,
I am facing a strange issue in smartform. When I am using a command node to trigger a page, in the main window 1 table needs to get triggered (but it si not triggering). When I try to print the same table without any command node (i.e. in the same page) its working fine and the table data is being displayed.
But when I make use of command node to trigger to new page, All other windows are getting executed except the main window table.
Note; I have made use of 2 tables in main window. Normally 1st table should print, once new page is triggered, 2nd table should print and not the 1st one.
Can anyone help me out of this strange issue.

In order to print data you require upon using command node , you need to display it on a secondary window.
Steps :
1) create secondary window .
2) provide table n related details .
3) u need not have a main window (optional) ;as data in main window won't be displayed.
This is the way I resolved the same issue .Hope it helps .

Smartforms text node in release 710
Prior to today, I have worked with SmartForms in ECC 5.0 but now I am in ECC 6.0. I see a major difference in SmartForms when it comes to text nodes. What is this all about? I can no longer drag fiields to the text node. Now the text node opens with an, embeded, instance of MS Word. Is this normal? Have SmartStyles gone away? I am royally confused.

AaronThe only pencil icon I see says "Editor" when you hover over it and it is above the 'Check' icon. I used the 'Insert Field' icon, adding the '&'s, and it still doesn't display the result of that field. Any ideas?
I now managed to get the value to come through. I had to click the "editor" button and add the field in that editor. It didn't work if I added the field in the first editor (the node layout).
My problem with the character format still stands. Also, can you not drag and drop the fields anymore? Is there a way to go back to the old editor? This new editor takes entirely too long to load each time you go to a new text node.

Output of a table containing static data. That is when u know the amount of data u have (i.e. fixed data), you use a template.
Table:
When the data is of variable length and u dont know how many record lines u r going to have, you use a table. But u can also use the table as a dynamic template by unchecking the 'loop at internal table' check box in the data tab of the table node.
In brief, template is for static data and table is for dynamic data. -
Problem with smartform table node
hi i am working on smartform,
requirement is to put lot of barcodes , with a horizontal line separating them,
so i felt, displaying a table pattern inside a loop was the way to go,
but when i am setting table parameters in the details part,
i was giving the following and it was giving error saying
the width of matnr and barcode doesnopt correspond to the total width of the table
the total table width is 16 CM,
MATNR 15.50 MM 30.50 MM
BARCODE 15.50 MM 30.50 MM
what ever value i am giving in these columns, it continuosly giving errors,
if some budy has a sample parameters which worked with them, please give me,
i shal;l make necessary changes.
when i increase the table width it says doesnt fit in the page, page is DINA4 with portrait format.
please help.

How to eliminate "Company" text in smartform "address" node
Hi all,
I got a problem.
I want to display company address using "Organization Address" in address node.
However, the address node displayed "Company" text automatically when company address contains incomplete info. Eg, the company address only contains city='new city' info.
Then the address node will displayed as below:
Company
city
Anyone know how to remove "Company" text if no incomplete company address data?
Any suggestion/comment will be greatly appreciated!

1. I downloaded one smartform.
If in that text in the text element is written ater some spaces.
IF i upload the same form ,will the layout come same, or text in the textelements is moved left?
2. How can i see history of changes done to the smartform layout(like username, date......)
3.If we save the smartform in one request and after that if we delete that request or object in the request,
can we get that information?who has done changes?
