Regarding SNMP trap on Backup Unity connection failure

Hi,
if backup of Unity connection failed, would a backup failure produce an SNMP trap?
thanks,
Kamran

RTMT has alerts for DRF backup failures... and can be set to trigger emails, but I am not aware of any SNMP Traps generated by DRS Backup failing.
Kind regards,
Craig

  • DRS Restore Backup Unity Connection 8.6 Fail Database Restore

    Hi all
I'm trying to restore a backup from unity connection 8.6 to a fresh install platform but the database item fails every time at 50% or 60%, all the parameters, software version, and the license mac are the same, Any ideas what happened?
    Thanks a lot.

One possible reason could be if there is a mismatch in the DNS config on the original cluster and the one on which the backup is being restored. Please ensure that DNS lookups are working on the new cluster. Else upload the DRS restore traces to see what could be going wrong.

  • Regarding SNMP Trap

    Hi ,
After configuring and assigning Notification Rules to Notification Methods, we can successfully send a Test SNMP Trap to our Tivoli console, but "real" warnings and critical alerts are not getting through - have we missed any extra configuration step(s)?
    with regards,
    Dilip

Under Notification rules you need to add this extra "Advanced Notification Method".
So go to the notification rules, select each of the rules, click edit, click next, next, etc. on the 6th page you have the option to enable this new "Advanced Notification Method".
Once this is done and working, if you go the the db/host and click the alert, click the details you should see if firing off to this new advanced notification method.
    For example we have:
    1. E-mail sent to [email protected] (SYSMAN, Host Availability and Critical States)
    2. The following notifications will be sent: 1 e-mail messages, 0 SNMP traps, 0 PL/SQL procedures, and 1 OS Commands.
    3. Called /opt/app/oracle/oem10g_integration.sh (SYSMAN, Host Availability and Critical States)

  • 2TB Iomega EZ Media and Backup NAS connection failure.

    Hi,
Can someone please explain to me why my 2TB Iomega EZ Media and Backup with the newest firmware installed often suddenly cannot be approached anymore whatever I try. My desktop (W8.0) says “Cannot find networkpath “. Code: 0x80070035. IE. says “Cannot find server”. White and blue leds are on.
And after a few hours or sometimes days it reconnects again all by itself. What can I do, suggestions welcome.
    Thanks,
    Wil

Hi Andrew, Thank you for your response.
Does anybody else have access to the device that might be trying to log in? Have you enabled security on the device? If not, I would recommend enabling security and make sure that your device is secure by reading the following support article: Security Best Practices Guidelines
Nobody else has acces to the device. Security is enabled.
You might want to set up a static IP address as well: Configuring a static IP address
A static Ip address has been set up after installation, otherwise it won`t function.
If the problem persists, you can try to reset the network and user settings with the reset button on the back of the device. Press and hold the reset button for four seconds. Using the device reset button
    This I will try.
    OR
Reset the entire device using the Factory Reset from the web interface. This will erase all of your data, however.
This is only a last resort as the device is full with data.
You can also contact technical support to troubleshoot the issue further since you are still covered by the warranty.
This I will do if the problem persists.
Thanks a lot for your advice.

Tks Manish, I just perform a restart on the both nodes on my CUC cluster and after that I did can install this upgrade patch.
Also is very important install the upgrade patch on all servers of the cluster before perform a switch-version on the publisher and then on the others nodes.

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.1 - Fan-Failure SNMP-Trap Issue

    Hello,
I am facing the following Prime Infrastructure (v2.1) issue:
    - A Fan-Failure SNMP-Trap from a Cisco 3650 switch doesn't appear on Prime, but a Link-Failure from the same switch does.
    - The both events appears on Prime with Syslog.
    - The command "snmp-server enable traps envmon fan shutdown supply temperature status" is set up.
    - The switch is in "Managed" state in PI, I have checked the ACL at the "snmp-server community" command, it is okay.
    - I have set up an SNMP-Trace for the switch on PI, but only "SNMP Null was returned for class com.cisco.server.managedobjects.bridge.Fan3KStats attribute fanIndex" arrived. Please find the log below.

It seems like PI and the switch doesn't understand each other concerning the fan...
Thanks for any ideas, comments and feedbacks,
    Csaba

I have the very same problem.
The switch has a power supply error (one of the two is down). There is the syslog message in PI about it, but no event has created, so nor alarm is there as well.
When I check the status of the switch in the Device Work Center, and choose the Environment in Device Details I can see that PI has not realized the power supply error.
However when I click on the Sync for this very device the power supply status is updated, but still no event or alarm.
This is the case with the FANs as well.

  • Unity Connection 8.5.1 Backup was working before now it won't setup?

My Backups for my Unity Connection 8.5.1 have stopped working.  I had set it up when I first installed both the CUCM and Unity Connection 8.5.1, then I had to make a change in the network addresses on the backup server.  I was able to restart the backups on the CUCM no problem, however the Unity Connection server wont allow me to setup a new instance of the Backup Server.  Before I even get started setting up with the device it says at the bottom of the screen :
The Backup Device which is associated with 1 or more schedule(s) cannot be deleted.
It will allow me to go through the entire process of setting things up but will fail every time.  I have run traces on the network, and it never attempts to touch the SFTP server,   Can someone shed some light on this?
    Thanks,  Mark

    Hi Mark,
This particular error means that the Schedule has to be deleted before making changes to the backup device. You have to delete the schedule before trying to make IP address change on the existing backup device, or you could create a new backup device and schedule altogether.

  • 3750 sw is not sending SSH login failure SNMP trap

    Hi experts,
I want to make my switch send trap when failed SSH login is detected. I found the "login Enhancement" feature and enabled the trap and logging for the failed attempt.
3750# sh run | in login
    aaa authentication login default local
    login delay 1
    login on-failure
    3750# sh login
A login delay of 1 seconds is applied.
No Quiet-Mode access list has been configured.
All failed login is logged and generate SNMP traps.
Router NOT enabled to watch for login Attacks
Then I enabled all the traps except the one for the syslog (because I don't want all the log messages are sent as SNMP traps...)
    (config)# snmp-server enable traps
(config)# no snmp-server enable traps syslog
    (config)# snmp-server host 10.1.1.1 mysnmpkey
Now when I try to login with incorrect password I do see the log but I don't receive the trap...

Of course when I enable the "syslog" trap I see something but that's more just for this log message
    Any idea why??

  • SNMP Trap on AP Max associations reached

    Hi all,
I want to be able to send snmp traps to my NMS alerting our NOC to when we reach our configured max-associations on an ap.  We currently use both 1130 AG and 1140-2N in autonomous mode, no controller.  I have found a debug command "debug dot11 station connection failure" and the output of a test AP shows us the fact that the maximum number was reached.  I need to find if it is possible to trap on such information.
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.  Also please ask me for more information if you need...
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Daniel,
This is a shot in the dark, but try this configuration:
    ap# snmp-server enable traps dot11-mibs
I'm curious about this one, too, so please let me know if this produces the information you're looking for.

  • Installation CUCM 10.X & Unity Connection

    Hello,
I have a question about the actual installation of both systems, so i'm not using a pre made file on the website of cisco which you convert to a floppy image.
When i installed CUCM, i made my lab switch the NTP server by giving it the following command:
    - config#ntp master 1
The call manager saw all of this & the default gateway also and it al worked perfectly and the Call Manager installed. When i did the same installation for Cisco Unity it did not work, it would not reconise the NTP nor even the default gateway and the installation did not proceed. This strook me as very weird, as the installation of the call manager did succeed with no issues.
Rebooted the switch : Didn't work
Resetted it as NTP : Didn't work
Laptop as NTP: Didn't work (Registry in Windows 8), if someone knows a decent program it would be a plus
Cisco Unity Connection wasn't even able to contact the default gateway of the vlan, it was 1 switch. The vlan had an SVI and IP routing was enabled.
Does anyone have any suggestions to these kinds of problems, which approaches did work?
    Kind Regards,

    Hi,
So yes the virtual machines had the same network settings and were in the same IP subnet aswell.
In ESXi i configured both the network cards, 1 active & 1 backup so i didn't need to create a port channel. I put up 2 VLAN's one for the management of the ESXi and one for the UC applications, so tagging was enabled.
My switch configuration was extremely basic
Just 2 vlan's 100 for data & 200 for voice, this resembles the environment it will be later installed.
The vlan's were SVI's and ip routing was enabled, i was able to ping from one vlan to another.
    It had the command:
    NTP Master 1
I knew it worked because i forgot during the installation to correct the clock, it was still 1993 and i had an issue with uploading the licenses, i resolved this.
So call manager was getting all of the NTP information
But during the Unity installation it all didn't work/respond, still very weird. The ports to the ESXI were configured as Trunk

  • Unity Connection 8.6 Mailbox Store Issue

    Hi,
I am seeing an alert in Unity Connection Mailbox Stores that" This mailbox store is at or over 90% of its capacity ".
Also i have set the  Aging Policies, but still no results. Anyways to reduce the size by deleting any other unwanted files.
    Pls suggest.

    Hello Jagadish,
In regards to this warning message you can also reference:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2241790
If your aging policy is "not working" it may be due to the fact it is not working retroactive, meaning that it is not purging old messages.
For best practices it would be best to create another Mailbox Store rather than increasing the size of the current one due to the fact that backups might fail due to the size.
    Best regards,
    David Rojas Peck.
