Regarding SRM busniess process flow

Hi
i am having a book of SRM 201 and start learning and enhancing my skills,i feel sometimes lost while reading and practiing the same in IDES as i am not aware about the business process of SRM completely.Can all of you experts please explain what all are there in SRM and how do i proceed so that at the end when i finish i will not be aware about whole SRM but atleast i am aware about the process. i want to study and finish process by process not whole SRM at once. So expert i hope you all will able to knw what i want...

If you want learn SRM then please go throguh the SAPSRM material or SRM over view then you will understand complete business processess and technical scneario's of SRM.
If you are having MM knowledge then it's easy for you to understand.Please go thorugh the below link.

Problem in running Process flow

Hi,
I’m bit new to OWB. I made mapping which I deployed successfully. I can run through control center and it works fine (it just fills a table). However when I made the process through process flow and after its validation , tries to start it gives me error RTC-5170: The selected objects do not require deployment as they are all up to date in the Control Center, which is followed by RTC-5006 and obviously no data generated in the table. How can I pass this error? Secondly I tried to schedule this, firstly it doesnot ask for the process flow during schedule, secondly even from schedule the map doesnot run.
Appreciate any help to run the process flow.

In the process flow validate and generate the process flow. then go back to design center and go one step above to process flow package module and right click and deploy the process flow package. once the deployment is successfull then go back to the process flow and right click and start the process flow.
This should work.

Process Flow - Email

Hi!
I need some assistance regarding my email process flow.
Lets say I have process flows. One process flow runs a single mapping . If it ends in error it launchas another process flow.
This other process flow is my email process flow. Its just a process flow(killing my self writing process flow) which just sends out an email.
So if my 1st PF is failed, I get an email.
What Im trying to do now is use global variables. So I have a varible in my PF1 with value = Error in PF1. And I now want to bind this variable to my EMAIL variable in my EMAIL PF.
This means, if PF1 Error = Send this varible into PF2.
I have tried using IN/OUT parameters, trying to bind variables.. But I cannot get to to bind my EMAIL variable to my PF1 variable.
Any sugg?

If PF1 and PF2 are sub-process flows of e.g. PF3, then it should be possible to just use the variable i.e. on the START operator of PF2 you can define a Process Flow Parameter (IN), it should then be possible to bind the Variable to the parameter of PF2.

i have around 60-70 GB data in Target database.
i need do improve the performance of Mapping and Process flow.
i have used lookup transformation in mapping.

Please go through a Performance Tuning Book for Oracle 10gR2.
Most importantly remember that in Oracle 10g, your performace of mappings can be increased manifold by following these steps:
1. Do not design a mapping wherein you load a table and then select from that table to load another table and so on. This is a bad design.
2. Keep mappings as simple as possible. In other words if a mapping is complicated in terms of joins or other operators then split the mapping into more than one parts.
3. Also check that all your source tables should be analyzed using DBMS_STATS. Ensuring this one single step can make your work very easy.
4. Put indexes where you find your predicate has a very high selectivity. Also keep in mind the column ordering of the index.
5. Use Set Based operation, since it is always a good idea to achieve the result by running one single query rather than a loop and multiple inserts.
6. Use APPEND PARALLEL hint while loading the target tables. This will not generate wny redo and save time
7. Please have a recheck while usng some performance intensive operators like UNION, DISTINCT and AGGREGATION
8. When using a sequence operator to load a large table, check that the sequence should be cached with some values.
9. When loading large data HASH JOINS are the most appropriate more often than not. So you can use USE_HASH as the hint for selecting from large tables.
10. Filter out as much unrequired data from a table as soon as possible in the mapping before doing multiple joins.
I am sure there are many more ... the above is just a random list that I could remember now. Please go through Oracle Performance Tuning Guide, Tom Kyte's Oracle Expert One on One. Knowledge of performance tuning will grow with experience. I am also learning each day !!!

Regarding process flows

Hi All,
I have created many mappings and am trying to create a process flow wherein i execute all the mappings .
when i create the processflow module i provide the schema of the target database .
when i test the connections it tells me to use the processflow schema which i have not created .
my questions is ....do we require a new schema to use the processflow module ??
also ....after creating the processflow module do we need to deploy the processflow ?
pls let me know....

You need to install the Process Flow option into your database schema. The installation procedure is on the 10g Companion CD. After you have installed the option you need to run the configuration assistant to create the workflow schema. The script to run this is in the DB_HOME/wf/admin directory.
Next add the Workflow owner as an OWB user using the Repository Assistant. This will ensure you can deploy workflows into this user from Control Center.
Once you have done this you should be able to deploy the workflow to your target database.

Oracle Workflow 2.6.4 is required in order to use Process Flow (in OWB 10gR2) .
You can get the Oracle Workflow 2.6.4 (I am giving for MS Windows .. please find for your OS )

URGENT:error while deploying a process flow

EMP_COUNT is a mapping which i have deployed .
when i try to deploy a process flow i get the following error:
OMB05602: An unknown Deployment error has occured for Object Type API8028: No signature is available for mapping EMP_COUNT because the generation language is undefined. Please set the generation language property of this mapping, or generate this mapping to set the generation language property to a default value..

Hi,
I am calling shell script as an userdefined activity in a process flows.
All the process flows were working fine.
Today, all the process flows wherever the shell script is called ended up with an error showing " RPE-01008: Recovery of this request is in progress".
Could any one please explain, what might be reason?

To check whether a process flow is valid or not

Hi,
I want to check whether a OWB process flow is valid or not inside a PL/SQL block. Can anyone let me know about any repository table or view where I can check the process flow status.

Use display schedule job option from the context menu of the start variant of the process chain.
When u chick this.. u will get the available job on this start process.. There u can see whether the process chain in schedule mode or not?
If u can see multiple schedule then u can delete the older ones which are not needed and then u can maintain only one schedule job.
If u click twice.. then there are chances that u might end up with the 2 schedule job with the same time frame.. .. so check the same with the steps mentioned..... if u find two jobs then u need to delete one.. if not there might be chance that ur PC might get trigger twice.. and one trigger will gets failed. and the other one will gets executed..

Can I change a process flow at run time??

Hello everybody,
I work in Oracle BPMS 11.1.1.5. I need to change a process flow at run time due to changes in the business logic, I mean add, delete and modify tasks, navigation flow, etc. I know business rules can be modified using Oracle BPM Composer, but I couldn't find the way to modify the process flow. I have seen other BPMS, like BizAgi, for ex. that can do that. Do Oracle BPMS have that functionality? Please I need it a lot!!!!

As JonPetter mentioned, you can get this and preferably get only from Support. I hope you have some license if you going to prod with this. Use that and if possible talk to your sales guy and create a support account. Then request the feature pack. The thing is, if we put it in some public shared location, it is the violation of using the oracle product. Unless someone takes risks they may upload but still its not advisable.
