Regarding Succession and career planning

Hi everyone,
I want to do succession and career planning in PD. For that, I want to divide the employees in the system into fast track i.e. the people with exceptional potential for development and normal track for other so that they can be differentiated when the process is carried out. How can I maintain the track related data for all the employees. Has it to be maintained in PA infotypes or it can be maintained in some other places? Please suggest.

I am working on EHP4 without NAKISA and have to do maximum possible things in R/3 only without portal as per the management decision.
I read the SAP help regarding Organizational Basis of Succession Planning  and therefore I made a mind to run this report to decide the key position in one go.
As I am facing few doubts in succession planning
If we are nominating more than 1 person for one position, we are not able to see all the nominations in one go.
In succession planning, if we have 100 successor positions, do we need to 100 times entry for succession or we will run for the same, as we are doing this through TCODE: HRTMC_PPOM
Therefore, I guess this report might help me in long run.

  • Specifications and Inspection Plans

    Hi,
    I have few questions regarding Specs and Inspection plans.
    1) What is the primary purpose of specifications(CG02 transaction)?
    2) What is the use of specficications in QM and EHS modules?
    3) How are specifications related to Inspection plans?
    4) What is the business advantage by enabling specification data to be copied directly into Inspection plans?

    The idea is that you can maintain all the specs in the EH&S module in one place.  Specs are used of course to evaluate the material and make sure the material is what it is suppose to be.
    The transferring however of the specs from the EH&S module to QM however leaves a lot to be desired.  I don't recommend it at this time.  If  you attempt to do it, plan on bringing in a consulting partner or consultants.  You'll probably wind up doing a lot of coding to make it work for you as there isn't much flexibility or functionality as it is currently delivered.  All IMHO.

    Career planning is done for all positions whereas succession planning is done only for the critical positions within the organization (e.g. CEO).
    Development plan consists of the planned trainings, qualifications to be developed by a personnel within a certain period of time.
    SAP Help Definitions:
    Career Plan : A career planning scenario takes an employeeu2019s personality, skills and abilities and determines the positions this employee should occupy in the course of his or her future career, and the training measures required to obtain the additional qualifications needed for this. A career planning scenario anticipates how an employeeu2019s career will develop.
    Succession Plan: Succession planning sets out to ensure that there is a continuous supply of qualified personnel.
    Development Measure: A development plan is a grouping together of personnel development measures. The objective of a development plan is to provide specific qualifications.

  • MRP: Delete Purchase Requisitions and Create Planned Orders

    Hi there,
    I have a scenario, where in a material (HALB) was marked as externally procured. MRP was run for FERT material. The dependent requirements for FERT were created. Planned orders of the HALB material were changed to Purchase Requisitions.
    Later, the procurement type of material was changed to Inhouse Production.
    Now, I want all the Purchase requisitions that were created to be deleted and Planned orders should be created when I run MRP.
    I tried all the possibilities, but of no success.
    Please lemme know if there is any possibility to delete the P.Rs and Create Planned orders by running MRP.

    I Haven't read the Plan order is converted in to PR Before
    If YOU convert the plan order in to PR, system will firm the Requirement, YOU need to remove the firm indicator FIxed iD in PR Before doing the MRP Run Again
    Do the following thing in PR
    In PR Remove the  Fixed ID in Quantities and Dates tab of the item
    and Rerun the MRP with Planning Mode 3 It will create a plan order

  • Career planning scenario in the PD module

    Hi Experts,
    I am doing the Career planning scenario in the PD module.
    While we create a career plan, growth of the employee in org unit, can the no. of years of experience in the organization be included?
    If ,for ex., the career plan path is built with the various positions hierarchy in the org unit starting with the lowest level, then is there any way to depict that the employee should have an exp of 3 years or so to aquire a higher position in the path ?
    Please guide me.

    go in change mode
    and in path if u double click the job / position u created it will pop-up the  Maintian duration
    u can give years / months as u wish

Actually in ooQ4 they not at all maintained anything its all based on OOQA (Qualification Catalogue ) how they have maintained so far so in PPPM when we try to pull the individual career plan its pulling most of the irrelevant Jobs (C) under Qualification so if throw any lights on this it will be a great help.

  • Question regarding roaming and data usage

    I am currently out of my main country of service, and as such I have a question regarding roaming and data usage.
    I am told that the airplane mode is sufficient from keeping the phone off from roaming, but does this apply to any background data usage for applications and such?
    If the phone is in airplane mode, are all use of the phone including wifi and application use through the wifi outside of all extra charges from roaming?

    Just to elaborate here, Ann154 is referring to access charges for wifi, which is nothing to do with Verizon, so if you are using it in a plane, hotel, an internet cafe etc that charges for Wifi rather than being free .   Verizon does not charge you (or indeed know about!) wifi usage, or any other usage that is not on their cellular network (such as using a foreign SIM for example in global phones)  So these charges, if any, will not show up on the verizon bill app.  Having it in airplane mode prevents all cellular data traffic so you should be fine

    Please explain me what does single cycle plan and strategy plan means.
    Following is my requirement.
    ( Since Swedish mills and other units use not only single cycle plans but also strategy plans , sometimes with multiple operations to each maint item,  there is a need for cycle and cycle unit (interval) and work center on operation level on the layout in the report  zpm_huvud.
    There is also a need for maint plan name, plant section and work center (on operation level) as search criteria in the variant. The reason for this is that we use plan name as grouping criteria for multiple objects in rounds. The criteria work center description text should be changed into main work center.
    We also need to be able to sort the answer in the layout in two ways : by functional location or by maintenance plan.
    The plans that have object lists and/or have no operation lists also need to be shown in the report. All text on maintenance plan should be shown in the report )
    Please explain me this with one example...
    Its urgent.

    single cycle plan
    say for example you are planning to replace the bearing of a pump every 500 hrs of ruuning ,you use this plan to generated the maintenance order when the operating hours reaches 500 hrs.
    Stratergy
    In case of DG set there are lot of components to be maintained based on running hours for example for ever 100 hrs filters to be cleaned,every 500 hrs lub oil to be changed.In this case you can use strategy based maintenance plan .you can create 2 operation in the task list and assign to the respective package,so onec the 100 hrs has reached system will create maintenance call object as filters to be changed and in 500 hrs it will say lub oil replacement

    I am using theme 20. I want to add a success image on all success messages and an error image on all validation failure messages. I can do this by putting img tag in messages individually. Is there an easy way by which I can make sure that all success and error messages are always displayed with a corresponding image without including img tag in every message?

    in page template there is Subtemplate region related to success, error and notification messages. You can put there your HTML tags and add some css class or image for every page using this template.
