Regarding the Educational versions

Dear Sir/Madam,
As we do like to purchase your product Adobe Master Suite, i had went through your prices of them which were quite high.
As we are an Educational Academy in Sri Lanka, please do let us know whether it is possible to have Educational versions of Adobe Products or a deduction of your price per unit.
Please reply at your earliest as i have to purchase around 50 units of Adobe cs6.

  • Enquiry regarding Educational version

    Hi there.
I'm eligible for the educational version since I am still schooling and planning to get one, here in Singapore (South East Asia).
I would like to know if it were possible to use an educational version of adobe web premium which is bought through an Adobe Reseller not under volume license, for commercial work?
I have read some where that it is legal. So I need to clarify whether it is possible as I don't want to get into any trouble.
I hope adobe staff could answer this questions.
    Thanks!

There's no Adobe staff here (well, there might be, but offically it's a user-to-user forum). If you want an "official" answer, you better call Adobe directly.
As to your question, I think it changes from country to country, but usually it's allowed.

  • Policy regarding updating CS2 Design Premium Education Version to full version of CS4

I currently have the education version of CS2 Design Premium, and would like to upgrade to the full version of CS4 Design Premium. Am I eligible? And at what price?

Buko, It is faster, but not enough for me to invest in the equipment ($300.+) & then pay the $60-$120. @ month for 2 years! ( the $120. gets ya about what speed a midrange phone line DSL offers at $25. a month) oh well AT&T keeps saying "any day now, any day" HA!
Neil, should anything created in the CS4 version be saved (i imagine) in a CS2 format so it can be opened If I decide or can't afford to update before trial runs out and if so can ya make a guess if I would be able to edit anything at all? (way not computer savvy!!) CS2/Studio8 is my first foray into digital design!
Thanks Again my friends, I am continuing to be amazed at what I can & do learn on these forums! Les

  • Education  version of Cap2

    hi
Does the education version have any limitations as compared
to cap 2 pro that anyone is aware of.?/ Is it the *same* as the
full version.. I note the Education version comes up in the cap2
    start up screen..
I am running Cap2 and Vista and find it is quite unstable...
(this could be a RAM problem though) I am also having problems with
Audio but I see that others are too in Vista -Cap 2
    thanks
    p

    philb8,
With regards to the Education version, everything should be
the same except the price and the licensing agreement.
Captivate 2 is not officially supported on Vista and as you
alluded to, there are any number of issues that can come up by
doing so. As I understand it, the next version will be fully
    supported on Vista.

  • How can I tell if I have an Education version?

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but I would appreciate some info.
I have FCE 3.5 and Aperture. I want to upgrade both to the newest versions.
I know I bought one of them with the education discount originally and that I can't buy the upgrade to that software. I will need to buy the full version.
Problem is, I don't remember which program is the education version. I would rather not have to pay full price for full versions of them both if I don't have to.
I think I remember reading once that the education version is supposed to have a message on the startup screen stating that is is an education version. Neither of my programs have any special labeling on the start up screen. Is there another way to tell?
    Thanks,
    Mike

In response to your "Why" question Ian, I want to upgrade for the AVCHD support. I am on the verge of buying the Canon HF100 camcorder. My old Canon Optura 200MC just gave up finally, and I would like to move away from the MiniDV format. I know iMovie 7 will do the job, but I really like the way FCE works and would rather stay with it.
As far as the lost features go, I read somewhere that I could still use the old Live Type, or at least import what it is missing. Is that correct?
I never put Soundtrack to much use, but I figure the old version will still be usable if I wanted to use it.
Thanks to you and Tom both for your informative posts. I have read many of them through the months and have learned a lot.

    E.g.

  • Adobe Reader X change the PDF version after saved

    Hi all,
I recently discovered a weird behavior of Adobe Reader X (free version) regarding the .PDF version document.
I scanned just before the week-end a series of documents with default 1.4 version, I checked several and all were ok, Scanner did the job well.
The only problem is that every time I opened a document and save it under a different name, or replace under the same name – Save As option (Shift+Ctrl+S); the version of the document is automatically changed from 1.4 to 1.5; This is very annoying since I do not need 1.5 document version I use only 1.4.
Is there a way to work around this? I mean the Adobe Reader X should not keep the version 1.4 and not change it to 1.5
Thanks is advance for looking into this

There are now some answers in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/797451

  • Retail vs Educational version

OK guys, my free trial is almost up, and despite my inadequate hardware I definately am going to buy Aperture ( new MBP coming soon!). I have the opportunity to purchase an educational version due to family at university but...I think I read that the ed version does not benefit from free upgrades. Is this true or did I just imagine it? Is the ed version identical in every way to the retail?
    TIA
    FlatE
    MacMini 1.5 1GBRAM, 12" PB 1.33   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

You are using the word "upgrades" where you should be
    using the word "updates."
All software Apple makes is allowed free UPDATES, but
the educational version of Aperture does not permit
    discounted UPGRADES.
That being said, buying TWO versions at the
educational discount comes to the same amount as
buying one full version. A full version currently
costs $300 USD. Upgrades tend to run around 50% the
cost of the full version, if not a bit less or more,
so for argument's sake lets say an upgrade to 2.0
will cost $150 USD. By that math, Aperture 2.0 will
cost a total of $450 USD. Or, you could buy the
educational for $150 USD, and then get 2.0
educational for $150 USD and spend a total of $300
USD for the same exact software.
    Food for thought...
You are indeed correct about our use of update vs upgrade, and while I feel we are all sure of the meanings it seems Apple themselves are not I quote from their Aperture web-site:
"Free Aperture 1.5 Update: All current owners of Aperture will automatically receive the free upgrade to Aperture 1.5 via Software Update." Oh well.
On the maths side you are not correct however for the UK. As always we get to pay more for the same in the UK, and whilst your 2 for 1 analogy is I'm sure correct for you guys Stateside, in the UK the retail version costs £219, however the Academic version costs £ 138.65, or about 63% of the retail version. Clearly 2 copies of the Academic version in the UK is not such a good deal.
Looks like a retail version for me!
    Thanks

  • Cs2 Illustrator education version will not install on mac

I installed the education version of CS2. Illustrator and InDesign won't install. Photoshop, GoLive, Bridge, Acrobat and Version Cue install fine.  I completely uninstalled CS2 and re-installed it.  In the dialogue box that asks if you want to install the entire suite or selected components, I can't select entire suite and if I click Selected Components, Illustrator and InDesign are greyed out and not selectable.
Anyone have a good idea why this is happening?
    Thanks

It will. You can't install CS2 after installing CS3 or 4. Doesn't work. Uninstall the CS4 and dump all files, esp shared libs. You may have to use the CS4 Clean Script to remove all the associated parts.

  • LR 30 day trial purchased education version & activation code not working

    Hello
I purchased a iMac 5K and had been using Aperture on my old machine. Felt this was a good time to change to LR 5.
Downloaded the 30 day trial and decided yes I was very happy the software. I purchased the education version and received my code via email. This code is not being accepted by LR 5.7.1.
Is the download version different to the one I have purchased?
Do I need to delete the version I have installed and then use the disk provided? If that is the case can I reload all my past 2 weeks changes to LR?
    Many thanks for your help.

You’re not by any chance running the creative cloud version of LR are you?
The CC download can only be validated by subscription, not with a serial number.
If so, send it to the trash and use this download link for v 5.7.1; then enter your serial number.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5856
N.B you can use your DVD disk if preferred but you will need to update via the help menu to 5.7.1 after installation.
Your photos and catalog won't be affected.

  • For upgrading - do i have education version or otherwise - how do i tell?

for the purposes of moving up to logic 8, im aware of the supposed non-upgradability of the education version of pro7 (or at least the version that would be purchased using that discount). however, i purchased my copy using the higher education discount. the sticker attached to the documentation that came with it says 'retail' on it. so can i upgrade this copy to 8 or not?
    thanks for your replies.

Two very easy ways to tell. The bottom of the dongle for LP7 should say Academic, and when you start up LP7, the screen that first pops up when it's loading all the plugs and AU's will say Academic. If not, you've got the retail version.
