Regarding Upgrading Leopard to Snow Leopard

Question

Im just curious since I still use Adobe CS2 and CS3 applications (sort of out of my price range right now to upgrade anyways) and using Office 2008;
will Snow Leopard do away with those programs?
I think they run under rosetta? or should they still be compatible?
Im just trying to gauge a perspective on whether or not I should expect them to work...I'll go with no, but if theres any idea on what if any subsequent changes maybe to the software layer of SnowLeopard thatd be great to know.

Hello Frank,
I understand - you, like many others, are eager to find out if your important apps will work with 10.6. I'm in the same boat. If it's any help, I've been a Mac users since the late nineties and have yet to experience any permanent or serious "harm" because of Apple's policies or procedures - even if they thwart my curiosity.
Of course I can't speak for you, let alone "everybody" - but it appears to me that you have little to lose since you are (1) already positioned to move to 10.6 at the promotion price of $29 and (2) since there may be nothing of for us (I used PS CS3 too) to worry about. Some of us may end up finding ways to continue running drives with 10.4, 10.5 or it may be that PS CS3 (etceteras) will run on 10.6 after all.
Of one thing we can be sure: there are always some problems cropping up with every major release of OS X - but there are always this forum and others which have people who are ready and able to offer sound advice.
As far as MS Office for Mac goes, I myself have done professional writing and other things which require "office type" applications - I owned MS Office back when I had a Mac LC III running OS 7.x, but never after that. In other words - I've always found ways to do without MS Office.
Having said that, I can't speak for everyone but certainly think there's some hope that Apple has recognized the importance of MS Office to some of their customers while building 10.6.
