Regarding User VM's disk I/O 100%

first of all, please check my server spec.
CPU : 6 core * 1way E5-2620
Memory: 128GB (4G*20, 8G*2, 16G*2)
Disk : SSD 64GB * 5 / SAS 300GB * 2 (will be added more disk)
Network : 1G*4port ( teamming)
I created pooled collection and deployed 10 VDI in my server. The Gold-VM is in SSD, and VDI VM in SAS area.
however when I accessed 1 of VDIs, Disk I/O performance is 100%.. After 8 to 10 minute, Disk I/O had comparatively stable. VDI is too slow from boot to 10 minute.
Gold VM spec : 2 CPU, 3G Mem, 50GB Dynamic VHDX, Windows 8.1 OS
RDCB VM, RDWA VM specs are enough.
what should I check ? how? please let me know that... I have to create 50 user pooled VDI deployment in this server.

I would suggest adding more spindles to the SAS disks, maybe 4 disks in a RAID 10. Microsoft published a great whitepaper on sizing for VDI (link below). It discusses building out for 2,500 users which is extreme in your case, but it give details on building
a host to support 150 users which you might find useful.

Do user-created recovery disks work with replacement HDD of different capacity?

The original Seagate 250GB SATA HDD in my Pavilion G60-214EM notebook has completely failed (BIOS and other Windows machines cannot even see it). I replaced it with a Samsung 160GB SATA HDD but Recovery Manager on my user-created (DVD-R) recovery disk consistently fails at 2% of "Reformatting the Windows partition of your hard disk drive". If I look at the resulting partitions from another machine I see a 10.61 GB NTFS 'RECOVERY' partition, an empty active primary NTFS partition of 37.12 GB and 101.31 GB still unallocated.
Should the user-created recovery disks work if the replacement disk drive is smaller capacity than the original?
Should they work with a larger capacity replacement drive?
If not, can HP provide recovery disks that will work with a different capacity HDD?

Hi, I am the same predicament as you are From my experience thus far, the replacement disk drive space needs to be bigger or equal to the original HD space. (e.g.. I had a 640 gb OEM HD, I cannot install or factory reset the new 500 gb WD HD because it says its too small...)
As for question 2, I am going to try to get a 1TB hard drive, though I don't know due to the prices and such. Will post back if I do.
Question 3: I do not know, someone else may be more knowledgeable:/

I created a button on application tool bar which contain a tab (subscreen) with the help of Badi,for a standards T-code on the tab i am taking one field which is comman on the standard screen and tab which is created .
[i]when i am changing the field which is on the standard screen it must effects the data base table with out selecting the application toll bar button which i created tab
and what ever logic i written for the screen it must trigger and update the data base table .
[i]for that t-code there are no exits ,there is only one exits for save i tried by placing the field which i am using but it is not get the value in that exits ,after coming from the exits it is get the value

I am New For the Basis Work. Actually Iam working As a Developer.
1) I Created New Client 100 Using 001 Client And The User is DDIC.
2) I Entered With 100 Client And SAP* User.
3) I Copied 001 Client for the Newly created 100 Client Using SAP_ALL Profile.
Up to Now this is Ok.
Q1) While Creating a New User it is Asking for the Company Information like Country, Time Zone.( Please Input Some Values for this).
Q2) While Assigning Roles There is No values in the List to Assign the New Users.
How to get these Roles List ????
Q3) For the Default Clients Like 000 ,066 there is no Default Users in SU01 like PISUPER....
How to Solve this Problem.
Please Guide me So that I Can Proceed Further.

Notify users when their disk space is running low

Hi all,
I'm an administrator of about 100 Apple macs and an OS X server and generally speaking, problems are pretty easy to fix. There is just one major problem I'm always having and its simple to fix, which is that when Users run out of home disk space (only 600MB each) applications start crashing (understandably). The problem is that users don't actively watch their free disk space and when things start going wrong, I'll come along and point out that they need to delete some things and it'll start working again.
What I'm having trouble with (because I'm an absolute beginner) is making an AppleScript (or whatever would be best) to watch for when their home space is getting full (with 20MB free space) it'll pop up and say "don't trouble the technician, delete some files!" (or something along those lines)
So, here's what I have (pretty pathetic)

--I'm sure there are several ways to do what you want; here's one that works on an individual computer. If necessary, suitable changes should be possible for server situations, but someone else will have to jump in on that. Copy this to Script Editor, make suitable modifications, then save it as an application; be certain "Startup Screen" isn't checked. Either have the user start it when the computer is started up, or place it in the log-in items (System Peferences) so that happens automatically.

One user (only) getting "disk full" errors for network home folder

I have a few users in my office with their home folders on the server. Everyone seems to be fine except this one person, who, a few times a day, gets an error saying that there is no space in his home folder and a program can't save preferences or Mail can't write new mail to disk.
I don't have quotas turned on, and there is 120gb free on the disk with the home folders.
Has anyone experienced this before and know what the solution is? It's Server 10.3.9 and workstation 10.4.4.

I have about 100 Portable home users also here and only a few are affected with this issue. Their home folder on the server is 15GB but can't write more then 3.5GB to the server. It is very wierd.

How do i repair my hard drive in single user mode when disk is full?

I have an old Macbook Pro 17" with an upgraded 500GB harddrive and 4GB memory. I'm running Mac OSX Lion.
Was hoping you could help me out. THis is the situation:
Long story short I spilt wine on my macbook and the screen went a bit blobby. Switched it off for a few days, removed the battery etc. etc. Opened it up cleaned out as much of the wine as possible, but unfortunately some of it came in behind the LCD, so now the screen has a nice red stain. Obviously I'm not going to try to clean that out of the LCD.
My Macbook Pro still worked for a few days after that, but then my harddrive gave up. I booted in the Recovery HD menu, verified the drive and I got the error "Keys out of order - This disk needs to be repaired, click Repair Disk." I attempted to repair the disk but got the error "Keys out of order - Disk Full Error - The volume could not be repaired".
Unfortnately of this 500GB I only have about 7GB free on it, as I have a huge iPhoto and iTunes library. I did make a TIme Machine backup of my user directory, but not the system files. I don't really want to do a clean install because:
1) I'm paranoid that there's something I did not fully back up
2) I don't want to have to download the whole Mac OSX Lion again. I should have made a USB bootable backup when I had the chance. I don't have access to a broadband connection.
What I feel are my viable options, are as follows:
1) I did buy a replacement internal 500GB harddrive, so I can probably try to make an image of the hard drive to this new drive, but not sure how. I believe it's through the Disk Utility with the "New Image" option but not sure how to go from there.
2) Start up in Single User Mode and delete some unnecessary files and re-attempt to run the fschk -fy utility again (I tried this earlier and got the same Disk Full Error). - the problem with this is, I'm not familiar with the command line and have no clue how to delete files. I don't know my way around Unix.
3) I can also probably attempt to make a Ghost Image or Acronis Image of the failed drive to this new drive, but not sure if Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image will be able to read this HFS drive - I believe it's possible as it's a simple hard drive clone.
If you can guide me in the best option - probably there is a better solution than my proposed ones above, I appreciate any feedback and comments you might have!

I've done an Apple Software Update but it didn't find an update for iPhoto.
One thing to note is, this library was originally created on iLife 08, upgraded to '09 and it stayed on that version. It hasn't een upgraded to iLife '11. It worked fine on my previous install of OSX Lion. How do I recover the library without upgrading to '11 ?

Newbie Query regarding creation of Recovery disks and Backups

Hello ppl/Admins,
Some clarification required (my questions might seem dummy ...but i have no choice).
I'm a newbie and just received my first laptop ever Lenovo 3000 N200 0769 (WinXP).
My queries are:
1) If i create a 'Complete Backup' under Lenovo care application will that include the entire hidden partition? Or do i need to use some other software like Norton Ghost to backup the entire image of the hard drive?
2) Is there a way to only backup the hidden partition?
3) I have noticed in other threads users refering to system and recovery disks, what/how are they used/created (i dont see any
create recovery disk option under lenovo care button)? How does a recovery or system disk differ from a backup?
My sole intention is to save/backup the hidden partition so that i could restore the laptop into its factory settings if things go wrong, so if anyone could help....it will be much appreciated.

Hi atomic, if you look under the lenovo program file you will see two different entries that relate to restore / recovery, I'm not at my machine now to directly tell you what is called, other than one is towards the top half and the other nearer the bottom.
The one at the bottom has two options, the first is to create recovery media (I'm presuming this is for if rescue & recovery fails to boot up).
Under this there is then a 2nd option that refers to creating a restore cd, of which it will only let you make s single copy under MS licencing. I'm of the impression that if required and used, it will take a user back to factory restore settings i.e. original factory restore as it arrived. This I'm presuming will image the partition as well.
As for the other recovery option higher up the menu, this is for actuslly creating backups and restoring system and/or files.

Freezing with blue screen & can't boot from single user mode or disk

My keyboard is wired and plugged directly into my Intel iMac running OSX 10.5.8. I do not have the Leopard disks, but I do have the Tiger disks. I was trying to boot in single-user mode so that I could run AppleJack to try to fix another issue I'm having--I get the light blue startup screen flashed at me several times daily for the past week or so. When the blue screen flashes, it totally freezes my computer (obviously) and lasts from 1-10 seconds. I can't find anything that is triggering it. I haven't installed anything new that I'm aware of, and it happens whether the computer has previously been slept or not. I'm also not using an external display / additional monitor.
Also, for anyone who is nice enough to answer, please explain everything--I'm not an expert user.

Well since it is so time consuming and a security risk to turn off FileVault, I was hoping to hear from someone with more experience if this was the solution, or just something to "try"? Are you speaking from experience or just making a suggestion, leroydouglas? Thanks.

Problem regarding user defined query

I have a problem with Formatted Search in the Item table of the Order window.
We got some extra functionality for our Indian subsidiary and they are provided via Formatted Searches.
So for example there is one SQL statement with mathematical computations like (don't ask! SQL is not for mathematics, i would do this with SDK!)

The Search is defined with:

If i have only one line, all theses queries (5) are computed in just a second. But if there are 20 or more it takes 20 seconds to compute!
It feels like all fields of all rows will be computed again if i change one of the corresponding fields!
What can i do to minimize waiting period for the user?

Hi Frank,
This may be the current limiting factor in using formatted searches at the line level. There are known performance issues with using formatted searches in this way with the UI slowly grinding to a halt as the number of rows on the document increases. The situation gets worse if formatted searches are combined with an add-on that uses the validate event on row fields. Is it correct that your main company (without formatted searches) gets better performance?
The only workaround is not to use formatted searches :-\
I've heard the situation is better in SBO 2007A but I haven't tested it myself.

EWA reports question regarding user

we have implemened the EWA for our Portal 7.0 SP14 and for the ABAP 7.0 SP14. The EWA for the ABAP shows the cumulated users for the whole week. Is it somehow possible to get the information at which time over day how many users were logged in?
The EWA report from the Portal has this user load curve over the day, but it seems, that the user couting between portal and abap seems to work differently. We have weekly 25000 users logged over the portal into the abap system, but we have weekly sometimes 5000 users logged on the portal between 13:00-14:00.
Questions:
Does someone knows how the EWA counts the user for Portals?
Ist there are possiblity to get for the ABAP systems the information how many users were logged on at 13:00, 14:00 over the whole day? I can only find the information about whole day in st03n summarized.
