Regarding XI Book

Hi Friends,
I am an ABAPer. I am new to SAP-XI. I am thinking to buy a book on XI which should concern on integration of various business processes. I found one book named 'SAP Exchange Infrastructure: The Official Guide To Integrating Business Processes Using SAP Xi Technology' written by Jens Stumpe,Joachim Orb. Is this a good book for new techies?? or else plz suggest a good book.
Thanks in advance,
Steve.

XI is the middle ware tool which is used to integrate the SAP and Non SAP system.
Purpose
SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI) enables you to implement cross-system processes. It enables you to connect systems from different vendors (non-SAP and SAP) in different versions and implemented in different programming languages (Java, ABAP, and so on) to each other. SAP Exchange Infrastructure is based on an open architecture, uses open standards (in particular those from the XML and Java environments) and offers those services that are essential in a heterogeneous and complex system landscape:
● Modeling and design of messages, transformations, and cross-component integration processes
● Configuration options for managing collaborative processes and message flow
● Runtime for message and process management
● Adapter Engine for integrating heterogeneous system components
● Central monitoring for monitoring message flow and processes
SAP XI supports internal company scenarios and cross-company scenarios.
XI has following components:
1) Design and Configuration time components http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/0d/5ab43b274a960de10000000a114084/frameset.htm

Most of the questions asked are scenario based questions and maximum of questions will come from mapping and adapters.ss
Integration Builder: A client-server framework for accessing and editing two stores of Shared Collaboration knowledge. It has two parts, which are fat clients to SLD where we can import the objects and use them locally. The basic reason for separating Integration Repository from Integration Directory is because by separating design time activities from configuration time activities, SAP can ship content from the Integration Repository, which each customer can implement for their specific landscape in the Integration Directory.
Integration Repository: It is used for the design and development of interface, Process and Mapping objects that are used to implement Integration Scenarios. Usually they contain static objects, which can be used for different landscapes by defining the routing rules in Integration Directory.
Integration Directory: They contain dynamic objects where in we configure scenarios using the objects from Integration Repository and route the messages between systems.
Integration Server: This component provides run time for XI. This is central processing engine of XI.
Business Process Engine: Business Process Engine enables SAP Netweaver with BPM capability by processing integration processes at runtime. BPE uses functions of the workflow engine and generates workflow from integration process at runtime.
Integration Engine: Integration engine enables processing of XML messages that are exchanged between applications in heterogeneous system landscapes. Using adapters such as IDoc, http, it can process IDocs(Intermediate documents), http requests and Remote Function Calls. It is runtime environment of SAP Exchange Infrastructure, which has the task of receiving, processing and forwarding XML messages. Processing is done with the evaluation of Collaboration agreements, by determination of receivers and execution of mapping programs.
Adapter Engine: Adapter engine is used to connect Integration Engine to SAP systems and external systems. Various types of adapters are provided to convert XML and HTTP based messages to the specific message protocol and format required by the partner systems and vice-versa. It is based on adapter framework, in turn based on SAP J2EE Engine (as part of the SAP Web Application Server) and J2EE Connector Architecture (JCA).

    Hi kiran
you need to insert multiple dataprovider indo either several excel sheets or when no navigation ( drill down) is needed into a single one.
By help of convert to formula you can use a blank (new) sheet to reference to all data needed in your bar chart.
The BW functionality will refresh the query sheet(s) and Excel will adopt this to your bar chart.
I just published a new book at Amazon

  • Problem Regarding Invoice Booking with freight value

    Hi,
I have RBKP , RSEG, BKPF, BSEG tables.
I can fetch data from above tables for invoce booking values.
But i can't fetch freight and other charges against particular  invoice. So i am getting purchase rate of material without freight
in case of same purchase order and in same item.
    one example,
Company purchase one item based on PO today.
after two days Company purchase same item bsed on same PO.Now user make entry of invoice with frieght. Now in two invoice how can i find freight of one invoice.
So kindly suggest how can i link invoice with freight.

    Hi,
I tried in my system and its working fine allowing to change the amount in MIRO. My doubt is whether it was client requirement during implementation to set such an error message..
It might has something to do with the Partial Inv. field in the Account assignment category in PO item level..
Are u using Derive from account assignment category???
    Please check this answered thread

  • Regarding Workflow Book

    Hai Experts,
I am new to Workflow, which book is best for learn WORKFLOW, i heard one book name Practical Work Flow-SAP Press ,this is ok for learner, or other books are there.
    bye
    sitaram

I second that opinion about [Practical Workflow for SAP|http://www.workflowbook.com] - and even if I had worked with workflow in SAP for more than seven years I bought a copy of this book to have as reference when I started in a new company. It's a bit like the ABAP Objects book - the other obligatory book for a developer (in my opinion)- it may not be used every month, but when needed it can save a lot of time.

  • Regarding Good book for Oracle Service Bus 11g

    Hi All,
What is the good book for Oracle Service Bus 11g in the below list(or You can also specify any book other than from below list)?
1)Oracle Service Bus 11g Development Cookbook
2)Oracle Service bus in 21 days
3)The definitive guide to SOA:Oracle Service Bus,Second edition (or)first edition?
Can yOu help me out which is the good book for OSB?

    Hi Deilby,
    Thank You for your reply.
According to my understanding(I don't know whether it is correct or not),If you want to have full-fledged OSB development,we need to have eclipse.
If you just need to have routing and transformation along with SOA suite development,We can use OSB console .
Can You also look into this below SOA forums thread with SOA-OSB questions? If I have 'Oracle
Service Bus 11g Development Cookbook' , Can I answer all those questions?
    https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2559964?tstart=0
My intention is clear,I want to have full-fledged OSB development information(important components) and that leads to have good exposure to face questions.
Can You help me out to clarify my understanding and recommend the book according to that?
Note: I already worked on SOA Suite.I worked on OSB console. I think whatever we can  do with OSB eclipse development the samething we can do with OSB console along with SOA suite.
    Can You clarify on this?

  • PLS help..it's regarding some books

I'm a java trainee. Can anybody suggest me the best books available on java swing, java servlet.

I've got "Core Java 2: Volume I - Fundamentals" and I think it's a good book. They go into quite a bit of detail about swing. I've also got "Java 2: The Complete Reference," and I think it's equally good as a beginner's book, but they barely touch on swing.
For servlets, O'Reilly's "Java Servlet Programming" (I think that's the name of it) is good. I've got O'Reilly's "Java in a Nutshell" book, which is a fairly good beginner's book, though it emphasizes the class library more than the fundamentals. I've also got their "Java and JDBC" book, which is good if you're going in the database direction.

Asset Book security by responsibility is possible.
Please review the user guide/white paper.
    Here is the note.

Oracle of any issues related to this article.
    Purpose
Security by book is new feature for Release 11i. The purpose of this document
is to describe how to attach existing depreciation book to asset organizations.
This can useful mainly for customers after upgrade to 11i.
    Prerequisites
Following steps assume an Asset Organization is already defined.
    Step by step instructions
    1. Query for your Asset Organization in Organization Window:
    Navigator -> Setup -> Security -> Organization -> Description
Select "Asset Organization: from "Organization Classifications"
    2. When you are in the Organization form, click the Others button.
The Book Controls window will appear.

that will enable the Save function to work, enter the Description field and simply

alteration to the book information, the form will now be able to save the book
    to your organization.

  • How do i create a bleed wrap cover for a book?

I have a book I created in adobe framemaker 8.0, it is a 250 page manual, 7.5 x 9. I am now due to send it to the commercial printer and they want me to send a cover for a 'Perfect Bound' type binding.
Should I be using FM to do the cover or am I better off with a different adobe program?
If I use FM, do you have any advice in regard to book covers of this type?
Should the cover width be double the page width (18in) so that it can wrap around?
Any help you may provide is greatly appreciated.
    Thanx,
    William

    William,
Along with what Arnis said, I'll add that you may be able to submit a PDF to a printer that is the same page size as the body pages, with separate pages for the front and back. A printshop should be able to impose the cover for you and in doing so, automatically account for the thickness of the book. I believe it is standard for a printshop to have this kind of software.
In general, I agree that FM is an adequate choice for this project, as long as it has sufficient typography and graphics controls that match your requirements. Most likely it does, but if you need highly-advanced layout tools, you might have to consider InDesign.

  • Which of these two books?

I had posted a question regarding the book for networking in java sometime back, and well i was given the answer as the book by Esmond pitt.Unfortunately i am unable to gather enough cash for that. However i have zeroed in on three books which are well within my monetary constraints and am contemplating buying one of them. Can someone please tell me which of these three can i opt for?
    1.)JAVA NETWORK PROGRAMMING
by ELLIOTTE RUSTY HAROLD - Publisher      OREILLY.
    2.)JAVA NETWORK PROGRAMMING
by MERLIN HUGHES / MICHAEL SHOFFNER / DEREK HAMNER
    - Publisher      COMPUTER HUT.
    3.)BEGINNING JAVA NETWORKING
by CHAD DARBY / JOHN GRIFFIN / PETER DEN HAAN
    - Publisher      WROX INDIA PVT.LTD

And for java threads which of these three can i opt
    for?
    1.)TAMING JAVA THREADS
by ALLEN I HOLUB - Publisher      APRESS C/O SPRINGER
    - VERLAG.Most of Allen Holub's stuff is available on the web. Google for it.
    >
    2.)JAVA THREADS
by SCOTT OAKS / HENRY WONG - Publisher OREILLY.This is a good book. Doug Lea's is better, but more difficult.
    3.)JAVA THREAD PROGRAMMING THE AUTHORITATIVE
    SOLUTION
by PAUL HYDE - Publisher TECHMEDIA.TECHMEDIA? Please.
Why are you bothering? You won't read these, and you won't understand them, Goldie.
Why does a hacker like you need a networking book? I would have figured you knew all this after frying so many hard drives.

  • Order Organiser - Booked Sales Orders still appearing as "Entered"

Hi everyone, I am currently experiencing some issues regarding the booking of Sales Orders.
My problem is that I have already booked 1 SO and I got a confirmation message that it has been booked.
However, the Sales Order still appear in the system as "Entered" and when I try to rebook it, the error message says "Order is not eligible for booking. Check workflow status for this order."
On the same note, when I try to go to the line items of the Sales Order, the following message appeared: "FRM-40735: WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-04031".
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
Unsure the version you are using, I suspect that there is a error in the book order workflow (OEOH).
You can take a look at the workflow status of this order.
If appropriate, you can retry the workflow in error.

  • CTP CISCO TMS Server User accounts for booking

    Hello Support Team,
I need different users in our TMS Server for booking.
So this is no problem and is working fine.
Each user should be able to book all systems.
But only to edit and erase meetings which were created by this user.
In the moment we have different users, and each user can edit and delete every booking.
The booking is done over the TMS Web Page.
    TMS Version 14.5
    Best Regards
    Thomas

What booking permissions do you have configured for the users in TMS currently?
I haven't tested it, but you should be able to give update permissions on the "List Conferences - Mine" setting which would allow them to update only their conferences.  My guess would be that you gave update permissions on the "List Conferences - All" setting which would affect all conferences, no matter who owns them.
