Regarind  CCMS Alert configuration in XI/PI

Hi Experts,
1) I have created distribution list “DIS_LIST ” in default client 000, in between I have assigned SAP Userids with e-mail ids in SU01 of normal client 001.
2) In normal client 001:  Goto RZ21-> methods -> Display Overview -> The method i used  CCMS_OnAlert_Email
              Control tab: In control tab I have checked -> Execute Method:  selected radio button: Periodically in dialog process (short running program), under Startup method I did not select any check box r radio button. But i have scheduled the job (RSCONN01) for every 10mins to send the mails out, is this setting are correct?
             Parameters tab ->
SENDER = USER17  ( Basis team sap user id, I have doubt how should I check she has authorization to send mails from xi to SMTP server, what role she should have, she does not know how to check this)
RECIPIENT = DIS_LIST (Distribution List name created in 000)
RECIPIENT-TYPEID = C
              In release tab: I have selected check box: Auto Reaction Method.
3) I have done in Rz21: In transaction RZ21, assign the method to the appropriate MTE class.  To do this, choose “Methods assigned to MTE classes” from the “Methods” frame.  Select the MTE class (MTE Class = CCMS_tRFC_qRFC_Context), double-click, and choose Edit è Assignment in other è to variant.  In the “variant” box, choose * (or whatever properties variant you are using).
4)I am getting messages in Alert Inbox whatever may be the error, as I selected “No Restrictions” radio button. If I want to send all kind of errors using auto reaction method do you have any idea (as i have done previouse step for Failed Queues)
5)i have given 3 mail ids(user01@mailcom, user02@mailcom, user03@mailcom) in shared distribution list in client 000, fixed recipient in ALRTCATDEF i have given 2 user ids( USERID15, USERID16). whenever error happens the mail is sent to two mail ids of  fixed recipient list (USERID15, USERID16) so i is not picking the recipients from Shared Distribution list.
In SOST transaction I could see SENDER as as runtime workbench, and recipient as USERID15 and USERID16.  mail is sent to mail id of USERID15 and  error occured for USERID16(i.e msg is not sent to mail id of USERID16).
in out look inbox i could see FROM: PIRWBUSER@mailcom and TO: user15@mailcom, user16@mailcom. but user16@mailcom is not receiving any msges , bcz it got error in SOST(we can observe that these 2 mail ids are from Recipient list not from distribution list)
In SOST transaction I could see SENDER as : Runtime Workbench Service instead of USER17 (i.e motioned as SENDER in rz21->properties tab), and it is taking RECIPIENTs from fixed recipients list(i.e ALRTCATDEF in 001)  instead of SHARED DISTRIBUTION List (user01@mailcom, user02@mailcom, user03@mailcom) in client 000.
why this is picking form Fixed recipient list instead Distribution list?
in SOST its showing SENDER as Runtime Workbench Service instead of USER17( (i.e motioned as SENDER in rz21->properties tab)
SCOT configuration are working fine, i could send the test msges from xi to outlook inbox. please  give me any advice on this.  Almost i browse throug all related blogs and forums.
Thanks
Dhanush.

  • CCMS Alert Configuration Problem-ST03G

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to configure CCMS Alerts for the Adapter Engine, and I'm following the Supportability Guide for the same.
    However, after performing the registration in both J2EE standalone and ABAP (as given in the guide), I am unable to see the entry for SAPJ2EE Component in transaction ST03G.
    Hence, I can't see the DSR required entries in ST03G.
    Any help?

    Dear
    In the central autoreaction I created a newly defined central autoreactions
    In the execution tab insert function module SALO_EMAIL_IN_CASE_OF_ALERT_V2
    In the parameters tab insert following parameters (please note some are empty, this is intentionally but they have to be there). Fill in the correct values inside <value>.
    Parameter name: SENDER                          Paramaeter value: <SAP user id>
    Parameter name: RECIPIENT                       Parameter value:  <email address>
    Parameter name: RECIPIENT-TYPEID           Parameter value:  U
    Parameter name: REACT_ON_ALERTS         Parameter value:
    Parameter name: SUBJECT_ALERT              Parameter value: <mail subject text>
    Parameter name: SUBJECT_ALERT_CONT   Parameter value:
    There is no additional setup required in this example, not SCOT, not even setting a mail adress for the SAP user id used.
    You could recreate this or get more info on this function module, assign points if helpfull.

  • Can we have 2 Alert Configurations with same XI Server, Local&Central(CCMS)

    Hi,
    I am looking to configure Local Alert Configuration with XI Server,
    It already had CCMS Alert Configurations in place, But the solution Manager
    is forwarding alerts related to all the Servers (ECC,CRM,BW,XI). It is becoming
    difficult to track the alerts of XI.
    So my question is is it possible to have 2 alert configurations with XI l ocal & Certral (CCMS)?.
    What are the effects if we have both.
    I think  it is possible to maintain xi specific alerts to specific mail ID's . But basis is finiding difficult in doing this.
    Let me know suggestions if you have any in this case.

    Yes you can have your own PI specific alerts.
    You do this via ALRTCATDEF (as stated earlier)
    You can edit the message header so you know if it's PI generated or if you log in as PISUPER to configure this then the sender will be PISUPER
    Alternatively, why dont you ask BASIS to turn off monitoring for XI and allow you do a more fine-tuned version of this monitoring.
    Or even better, dont create any local alerts but have BASIS finetune the central alerts so that the affected system is included in the subject header, also have them create roles for these systems and ensure messages are only sent to the impacted role. Blindly sending messages for all system to all system owners is really lazy config.

  • Query regarding CCMS alert in XI

    Hi XI gurus,
    We have some queries regarding the CCMS alert configuration in XI server. We are planing to implement CCMS alerts for Message failure in IE, Adapter Engine, Queue Block, etc.
    Can anyone please let us know what exactly should be done by BASIS team and XI(Dev/Support) team.
    Thanks
    Suganya.

    I have not done this  but was implemented in my projects
    I am providing some links which you can use with help of BASIS

    You should basically aim at configuring SOLMAN as your central alert cerver so that you will receive alerts from DEV QA PROD boxes of PI , ABAP in one system , no need to configure alerts separately

  • CCMS Alert Monitor (edit monitor-configuration.xml. ?)

    Hi Friends
    I'm trying to change the default polling time for the CCMS Alert Monitor, 5 minutes instead of 30 minutes.
    In http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/e5/5d1741b393f26fe10000000a1550b0/content.htm you can read:
    Accuracy
    The default polling period for the monitor is 30 minutes. If you want to have shorter polling periods, you can change them in the SAP NetWeaver Administrator as follows:
    1. Choose Availability and Performance Management ® Resource Monitoring ® Java System Reports (alias: /nwa/java-sys-reports).
    2. Select an arbitrary Number of errors entry in the monitoring tree of the Adapter Engine (leaf node).
    3. Choose Configuration in the right-hand pane.
    4. Choose Edit in the dialog box that appears.
    5. Change the polling period to 5 minutes, for instance.
    6. Choose Save and wait until saving is finished (be patient, since this may take a while).
    7. Choose Configuration Management ® Infrastructure Management ® Java Configuration Browser.
    8. Choose apps ® sap.com ® com.sap.aii.af.app ® Monitoring Configurator ® monitor-configuration.xml.
    9. In the xml file, change the polled-by-template period to the same value as above, for example, 5 minutes.
    10. Save the modified xml file.
    11. Choose Operations Management ® Infrastructure Management ® Start & Stop ® Java EE Services to restart the Monitoring service to apply the changes.
    But in step 9, the xml file I've found in my PI 7.1 (SP6) is this:
    <monitor-configuration>
    <monitor-semantics />
    <monitor-tree />
    </monitor-configuration>
    Also, there is no way to modify that file, you can only display it or download it.
    can anyone tell me how to edit the file.
    regards
    raja

    Hi Raja,
    This is the same as doing the following:
    You can locate the monitor-configuration.xml file in the SDA com.sap.aii.af.app.sda (inside META-INF folder). You can find this SDA in the install directory of PI installation. In this XML file please locate and edit the following tag:
    <template-info template-name="SAP_XIJ2EE_RCRDS">
                            <polled-by-template period="30" unit="MINUTE">
                                <generating-resource
                                    name="com.sap.aii.utilxi.rtcheck.mx.standard.XIJ2EEComponentMBean" type="APPLICATION"/>
                                <template-attribute-mapping>
                                    <invoked-resource-method name="getMonitoringRecords"/>
                                </template-attribute-mapping>
                            </polled-by-template>
                        </template-info>
    Change the above to the following *************
    <template-info template-name="SAP_XIJ2EE_RCRDS">
                            <polled-by-template period="5" unit="MINUTE">
                                <generating-resource
                                    name="com.sap.aii.utilxi.rtcheck.mx.standard.XIJ2EEComponentMBean" type="APPLICATION"/>
                                <template-attribute-mapping>
                                    <invoked-resource-method name="getMonitoringRecords"/>
                                </template-attribute-mapping>
                            </polled-by-template>
                        </template-info>
    The main change is the polled-by-template value from 30 mins to 5 mins as per your req ******
    Construct back the SDA (you can search SDN for that) with this edited XML and then redeploy this SDA with the help of JSPM tool.
    This will re-start the PI Server for the changes to come into effect.
    I hope this helps.
    PS: You can consult your BASIS consultant to locate this sda and re-deploy it on PI Server.
    Regards, Gaurav.

  • Problem with CCMS PI7.1 alert configuration for RWB Alert count

    Hi,
    We have configured CCMS alert for PI7.1 RWB failure count. Alert is getting triggered only one time and after that no alerts. I can see the change in data but alert is not getting triggered. If I complete the alert then immediately in next run a new alert is generated with last reported data and then again there will be no alert going forward. Data is collected but no alert is triggered. Does anyone know the reason for this and how to fix it? Please help.
    Thanks,
    Kavitha Rajan.

    Hi Jayan,
    Our PI alert configuration is fine. And also we did not choose multiple suppress method. Problem is with Solution Manager CCMS PI alert configuration for failed RWB count. After initil alert and then nomore alerts are triggered. If I complete the alert then again only first alert is triggered and again no alerts going forward. Please advice.
    Thanks,
    Kavitha Rajan.

  • Business Importance of CCMS alerts and Early Watch Alerts configuration

    Hi All,
    I have to present to the management how will configuring CCMS alerts and EWA alerts impact the business and how will it help in maintaining our business and existing scenario through the same. Could some body provide me with the PPT presentations/links/ slides which would help me.
    Points guarnateed for good help . Thanks ins advance.
    Regards,
    Somya Maheshwari

    Hi Somya,
    Actually if you are looking for business point of view you need to go for BPM which is more important from business perspective
    and further now we have BPO dashboards too.
    so customer will be more happy if you can configure bpm because then you can get the reports etc in workcenter and they can view the same in workcenter rather than just technical alerts in CCMS.
    Because based upon my exp they want to go for proactive monitoring not just technical monitoring and later we come to know what happened without knowing the business impact actually.
    Moreover in solman 7.1 its a wizard based approach to configure entire technical monitoring just go thru it.
    this note might help you otherwise.

    I need to configure CCMS alerts where the alerts will be send to my mail id.
    I have configured the seting in RZ21 and activated the alerts
    Please tell me the steps to be followed, for sending mails Email in case of any alerts

    You basically need to make sure that
    1. You can receive emails send from SAP Business Workplace to your SAP/Outlook inbox . This can be done by the Tcodes SCOT, SOST.
    2. Configure CCMS_ONALERT_EMAIL_V2 according to your needs (RZ21)
    3. Assign this method to the required MTE via RZ20.
    This is the broader view. Refer this link and the previous posts for more info
