Region inside ADF Popup

Is it possible to add a region to a pop up , knowing that this region is representing a task flow which communicates with a database ?

Yes. What specific problem are you hitting?

    Not one option, the only option. Unless you want to open the PDF in an applet or a Flash application, which would be bad.

    It seems that problem is caused by af:query or quickquery component(or underlying view object or view criteria).
    Maybe you can drop BTF as static region directly to your page and see if this will run correctly?
    YES i have try stll does not work
    So then this is not related with "npe when using popup inside adf table column"

  • Embedding Regions Inside PopUp Windows

    <b>Problem Description</b>
    Regions can be incorporated into ADF Faces popup content to support potentially complex navigation through a series of pages to complete a task. Another important benefit of including regions within ADF Faces popups is content reuse. These great benefits make ADF Faces popups containing regions a commonly used application development pattern. Incorporating regions into <af:popup> content can seem similar to incorporating regions into a page, especially since an <af:popup> is actually considered part of a page. However, there are some important differences to keep in mind. When incorporating regions into <af:popup> content, the following default development constraints must be taken into consideration:
    <ul>
    <li>Content within the <af:popup> component is created and executed when its corresponding page is initially displayed. It’s not automatically refreshed when a <af:popup> is disclosed.</li>
    <li>When disclosing an <af:popup> subsequent times from the same page, region content isn’t automatically refreshed and restarted from the beginning.</li>
    <li>An <af:popup> is not automatically dismissed when its region content completes via navigation flow. Likewise, when an <af:popup> is dismissed, its corresponding region content is not automatically considered “complete”. Therefore, resources used by the corresponding task flow (e.g., memory, DB transactions) are not released.</li>
    <li>Region components activate when their <af:region> UI component is invoked (i.e., component tree built), not when the component tree is rendered. Most JSF UI components build their component tree and wait until rendering to activate. The <af:region> UI component is different since it must first resolve its task flow’s target view to include the corresponding page fragment.</li>
    </ul>
    Many of these default development constraints are the result of <af:popup> behavior being mainly client-side only. When a user discloses an <af:popup>, JavaScript on the client unhides the <af:popup> created previously when the page was initially displayed. When the <af:popup> is dismissed, JavaScipt on the client simply hides the <af:popup> again. In both cases, no event or request is sent to the server to refresh the region content or retrieve data based on the current application state. If the <af:popup> is displayed a second time, it simply redisplays the <af:popup> content remaining from the previous disclosure.

    <b>Technical Pattern Description</b>
    This document describes the recommended development approach for the “ADF Faces Popup + Region” pattern. Other development approaches may be possible to achieve the same desired use case behavior. The development approach described in detail within this document is considered the most comprehensive and least complex approach.

    Hi,
    I am wondering, if there a way to, while staying on the same popup (so, _without clossing popup), to refresh and restart region content from beginning ? For example, when user presses button on the popup, what I want, is :
    1. stay on the same popup
    2. release resources used by the corresponding task flow
    3. refresh and restart dynamic region content (thus calling default task flow activity from the same task flow).
    4. new content (depending on the default t.flow activity) should be displayed on the popup.
    This can be used in the following use-case : Imagine that user inserts new record on the popup. Default activity is the CreateInsertRow.
    When user press the 'Save and Create New' button, the data should be commited to the database, resources used by t.flow should be released, and default activity should be called again.
    Thanks in advance,...

  • Embeding Regions inside Popup Windows-Pattern

    Hi folks,
    i'm trying to build a prototype using the "Embeding Regions inside Popup Windows"-Pattern.
    I've got one emp-VO on a jspx page and a popup displaying the same VO as read-only table in a region created from a fragment.
    The popup should be used to choose a employee that could be edited on the underlying formular.
    The problem:
    When the popup opens only the header of the table and the text "Daten werden übertragen" (Fetching data) is displayed.
    But data is never displayed.
    Does somebody know what's going on?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    if you use a dynamic region for this, make sure the managed bean that switches between the empty task Flow id and the Task Flow to show is neither in backingBeanScope, nor in request scope. It should be at least in viewScope.

  • How to refresh Adf  table from Adf popup

    Hi all,
    i have and adf query panel with table. On this table for each record, there is a button to perform some operations. When i click this button i am launching an adf popup. Inside this popup i have used a adf dialog of type yes/no. i am using this as a confirmation. (ex- Are you sure you want to change (ex- deactivate) this record?) If yes is clicked i change only one field. Suppose the record belongs to a client. On click of yes, i change the status to some value. ex- deactivate. so with the dialog's button click, i change the table data. but it is not reflected unless i made a query. i want to automatically refresh this table on click of dialog button's yes. I hope i made my self clear. Can this be done with Jdev. Im using Jdev 11.1.1.0.1. Pls help me with this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Nad

    Hi Maxi, Timo, i tried the solutions by both of you. Thanks alot for replying. But i get an error. This is what i did. for Deactivate btn in the table, i have added the below return listerner code.
    public void onReturnFromDialog(ReturnEvent returnEvent) {
    if (returnEvent.getReturnValue() != null) {
    refreshCurrentPage();
    protected void refreshCurrentPage() {
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    String currentView = context.getViewRoot().getViewId();
    ViewHandler vh = context.getApplication().getViewHandler();
    UIViewRoot x = vh.createView(context, currentView);
    x.setViewId(currentView);
    context.setViewRoot(x);
    but i noticed that both these methods are not invoked. So i added the below dialoglistener code to the af:dialog that is inside my popup. This popup is shown when the deactivate btn is clicked.
    public void DialogListenAction(DialogEvent dialogEvent) {
    if(dialogEvent.getOutcome().toString().equals("yes"))
    DCIteratorBinding iter = ADFUtils.getIterator("MembersVO3");
    String des = (String) iter.getCurrentRow().getAttribute("MemberCode");
    service.deactivateMember(des); //This is where i update the record and set the attribute value to des
    System.out.println("suspect1");
    RequestContext.getCurrentInstance().returnFromDialog(des,null);
    //AdfFacesContext afContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    //afContext.getCurrentInstance().returnFromDialog(des, null);
    System.out.println("suspect2");
    //ifCancel Do nothing
    when i add 'RequestContext.getCurrentInstance().returnFromDialog(des,null);'
    OR
    'AdfFacesContext afContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    afContext.getCurrentInstance().returnFromDialog(des, null);'
    i get the error - java.lang.IllegalStateException: popView(): No view has been pushed.
    i cant figure out what is the wrong here. Can some one pls suggest how to resolve this?
    Thanks alot.

  • Taskflow context not maintained with ADF popups

    This is a simple WebCenter custom app created using JDev. I'm seeing exceptions when canceling a popup that contains a taskflow (the DocViewer taskflow). The popup was launched from another taskflow called Content Presenter. Upon canceling the popup (i.e., clicking the 'x' in the upper right corner), I see this error message in a javascript alert:
    "Target Unreachable, 'presenterNavigationBean' returned null
    ADF_FACES-60097:For more information, please see the server's error log for an entry beginning with: ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR, #1"
    In the server console, I see these exceptions (abbreviated to keep this post a bit smaller, but I can provide the entire stack trace if necessary):
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: The expression "#{bindings.rbxzy5vg6jr1.regionModel}" (that was specified for the RegionModel "value" attribute of the region component with id "oc_4478173184region1") evaluated to null.
    This is typically due to an error in the configuration of the objects referenced by this expression.
    If it helps, the expression "#{bindings.rbxzy5vg6jr1}" evaluates to "null".
    If it helps, the expression "#{bindings}" evaluates to "portal_cpPageDef". Now using an empty RegionModel instead.

    (basically the same thing as above repeats a few times) presenterNavigationBean is the bean for the Content Presenter taskflow which launched the popup.
    The steps I'm taking to see this problem are:
    1. Launch JDev and create a WebCenter app, accepting all defaults. This requires the WebCenter extension, i.e., oracle.webcenter.framework_bundle.zip
    2. Create a content repository connection to an Oracle Content Repository
    3. Create a jspx in Web Content/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/pages using the global page template (select that checkbox). I typically call it cp.jspx, thus the references to "portal_cpPageDef" in the exceptions above.
    4. Open the jspx in source view, place the cursor after the pageTemplate tag, and add a "page customizable" component from the Oracle Composer group in the Component Palette. Save the page.
    5. Open Web Content/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/pagehierarchy/pages.xml and drag your jspx to the root of the hierarchy. Save all pages.
    6. Run the Web Content/index.html page.
    7. Login using weblogic/weblogic1
    8. Click on the page you created in the toolbar
    9. Click "shift + ctrl + E" to put the page in edit mode.
    10. click the "Add Content" button (it launches a popup)
    11. In the popup, click on "Content Management"
    12. Click on "Add" next to the Content Presenter taskflow and close the popup
    13. Now select an HTML document from the content repository by using the Content Presenter wizard (click on the first wrench icon in the chrome). If you don't have one, you'll have to add it to the repository.
    14. In the Content Presenter wizard, select the "Preview" page
    15. click the "Open in Document Viewer" button. This launches the DocViewer taskflow in an ADF popup.
    16. Click the cancel button in the upper right corner.
    17. This is when the javascript alert will show the errors mentioned above. The server console in JDev will show the stack traces.
    Please let me know if this is a configuration issue on my end or a bug within ADF. I'll monitor this thread closely today to provide any information that could be helpful asap. Thank you.

    It's the bean that the Content Presenter taskflow uses. All I did was create a page using the global page template and added the Page Customizable component to it, then customized the page to have an instance of the Content Presenter taskflow. I can use Content Presenter normally until I attempt to edit an HTML doc (which launches the DocViewer taskflow in an ADF popup). At that point I start seeing binding errors, like the taskflow context is lost.

  • Cancel button on ADF popup does not work with AutoSubmit Fields

    Hello,
    I currently have a very simple form inside of and ADF popup. I the form contains one SelectManyListbox. Here's my issue.
    Lets say my form contains option A, B, and C.
    Okay I open the popup for the first time, and a select, A and B, and I click cancel. When I open the form again, I would expect no options to be selected. HOwever, that is not the case, the last options I selected, prior to hitting Cancel are still selected.
    I was able to fix this issue by setting contentDelivery to "lazyUncached".. However, as soon as I set autoSubmit to "true", the behavior goes back to keeping the selections I made, even if I hit cancel.
    Question :
    How can tell the popup to deselect the items that were selected in the SelectManyListbox during the canceled operation of the popup, when autoSubmit is enabled? IN other words, if A and B were selected, and I hit cancel, when I open the popup again, I should see zero items selected in the list.

  • Displaying PDF file in ADF popup

    Hi,
    I am using JDevloper 11.1.2.0.0, browser IE8, Adobe reader 10.1.4
    I am using servlet to stream the pdf to the inlineframe inside the popup. using the approach given in the following URL
    http://technology.amis.nl/2011/07/28/adf-11g-show-pdf-in-a-popup/
    I am facing following problem
    1. On closing the pop-up the parent page turned to blank, sometimes the pop-up also blank.
    2. When I use IE9, Google chrome, I observe that service method of servlet executed more than three times.
    I don't have any clue why it is happening.
    Can anyone help me to solve this issue?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    do you have a reproducible test case? If so, zip it up, rename the zip extension to "unzip" and send it to the mail account you find in my OTN profile. Please reference this thread

  • Af:showPrintablePageBehavior inside af:popup - af:dialog

    Is there a standard way to get the showPrintablePageBehavior command working inside a popup? Ive placing layout components like panelsplitters and panelgrouplayouts inside the popup (in the hopes that the showPrintablePageBehavior would recognize them) but none of that works. If the showPrintablePageBehavior is directly inside the af:dialog then the result is that it renders the underlying page. If showPrintablePageBehavior is inside a layout which is inside the dialog, the result is an empty page. FWIW the empty page seems to contain some of the standard html that an ADF popup would normally have, but its definitely not rendering the content in any way.

    Same thing, the "printable" page is completely blank. Below is the af:popup src code.
    <af:popup id="stretch-popup">
           <af:dialog>
                <af:goButton text="goButton 1" id="gb1"/>

  • Close ADF Popup Dialog with html button in Inline Frame

    hi,
    I'm using jdev 11.1.1.2,
    I have a adf popup dialog which contains an Inline Frame(source is a jsp file).I want to close the dialog with a html submit button in the frame page. when the submit button is clicked, auto close the dialog.
    can anyone help in this.
    Thanks

    Try to close the popup from Javascript using a sciptlet similar to the following one:
    var popup = AdfPage.PAGE.findComponent('<yourPopupClientId>');
    if (popup.isPopupVisible()) {
      popup.hide();
    }where <tt><yourPopupClientId></tt> should be replaced with the popup's client ID. The client ID is composed of the popup's ID from the <af:popup> tag preceded with IDs of the eventual parent naming containers where the popup has been declared.
    For example, if the tag is <tt><af:popup id="myPopup"></tt>, then the clientId might be:
    <tt>  myPopup
      container1:myPopup
      container1:container2:myPopup</tt>
    ... and so on, depending on where you have defined the popup in your JSF page (i.e. within which naming containers), you should determine it first.

  • Flash content inside windows popup is not rendering on IE10

    Hi,
    Flash content of my application is not appearing when it is inside windows popup. When I close popup, I can see the content momentarily.
    This happens in case of popup only.
    Look at this video - http://youtu.be/SupJYZoLk5I
    I am not able to find why it is happening only with given configuration.
    Browser- IE10
    OS - Windows 8
    Thanks,
    Prithveesingh.

    The site is intranet one and can not be accessible from outside.
    Wanted to add one more thing  that it works fine when tried on IE10 on Windows 2012.
    1. The issue occurs with popup.
    2.Popup URL works fine if directly open in browser.
    3. The swf file loads but seem like not initialize.
    4. It works on IE10 on Win2k12. In Win2k12, Flash Player publisher is shown as 'Adobe Systems' while in case of Windows 8, it shows as
    'Microsoft Windows 3rd party component'.
    The popup mentioned here is modal dialog opened using javascript function window.showModalDialog. Instead if we use window.open things works fine, but we need modal dialog the way it is there.
    Thanks,
    Prithveesingh.

    else
    please help me in how to create it?

    Thanks in advance
    bye
    Srikavi

    Hello,
    This example contain an images inside the region. What do you mean asking how to recreate it? Add images in region?
    One of the way of creating region inside another region may be:
    1) create a needed region in separate pages
    2) create a regular HTML region
    3) put iframe tag in HTML region with sources to needed region
    Example of HTML Region source
    <iframe src="f?p=&APP_ID.:3:&SESSION." frameborder=0 width="100%" height="400"></iframe>
    <iframe src="f?p=&APP_ID.:4:&SESSION." frameborder=0 width="100%" height="300"></iframe>
