Regional and Language Settings problems

Post Author: DanaRaluca
CA Forum: General
Hi everybody,
I have to display some information written in Romanian. If I have a static (Romanian) text(Text Object), then everything is OK:
(Here is the text object copied from the Report: dana_test_şŞ_ţŢ)
The problem appears if the text is saved into a database table. In this second situation, some characters(ş,Ş, ţ and Ţ) are displayed incorrectly.
(Here is the database field's value copied from the same Report: dana_test_ªº_Þþ)
If I select the same values from the database (e.g. using SQLTools), then all characters are shown correctly.
(SQL: SELECT Description FROM TestRo WHERE Article LIKE 'dm_TestRo%';
Result: dana_test_Şş_Ţţ)
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks in advance,
DanaRaluca

Hi Jelena,
The DG4MSQL doesn't support MSQL 2008 without a patch. Go to My Oracle Support and download and apply patch 7623456 for the platform where you are running the gateway.
If you still have problems then either update here again or open a SR using MOS.

Mike

  • Regional and Language Settings for Window and BEX Style

    Hi All,
When I change the Regional and Language Settings for Windows, Standards and Formats value to English (USA) the standard Style for BEX is active. For instance, input-ready cell is bordered with blue. But when I switch to Turkish this style is not active.
Additionally, I have to change Style for each Workbook one by one. How can we adopt a style to every workbook.
    Regards,

    Lars,
This is a setting on the 'Defaults' tab in the User Profile. This can be set when a new user is set-up in SU01, or it can be changed by each user according to personal preference in SU3. I'm sure there is a system table where these settings are stored that could probably be edited for all users, if that is desired, but I don't know which table that would be off the top of my head.
    Hope this helps...

  • How to make the Region and Language | Location | Current Location selected by "country or region" selection

    Hi,
I have built a Windows Embedded Standard 7 image that includes multiple language packs for the countries that we support.  When I sysprep this image and reboot, I am prompted for my language (a screen appears with many selections like "My language
is English").  Once I select my language and select next, I am prompted for "Country or Region", Currency and Keyboard.  For some unknown reason the "Country or Region" selection only affects the setting under "Region
and Language" | Administrative | "non-Unicode programs", it does not affect the setting setting under "Region and Language" | Location | "Current Location".
Is there a way to modify my image such that the "Country or Region" selection is used for the location setting?
    Thanks,
    Brent

  • Copy regions and track settings?

Is it possible to copy all of the regions, and track settings from one project to another?

Careful, Rohan. You may be seen as criticising Apple in suggesting that the product is less than perfect. You're going to get the whole discussion board taken down

  • Mobile Sync and Language Settings

Every one in our houshold uses mobile accounts on a few computers. No matter which computer you take, you can login with your server account. These are not network accounts, but mobile accounts with portable home directories (PHD) (so you can take the macbook with you) and they are synchronized with the server. My kids use the Dutch langauge for their OS interface. I manage everyone's preferences for mobility.
I found out the following: if you (for instance) add ~/Music to the skip list for home sync (so it all stays on one system), it turns out it does not work. I have to type that as ~/Muziek (Dutch word for Music). Hence: if a user of mine changes language settings he or she circumvents the managed preferences on this point. I find this completely unexpected. I would have thought that this would have been implemented at the unix level.
Ugh. I can understand the difficulties involved (e.g. translating a regex from one language to another is a no-go), but at least the language setting could have been well integrated with managing settings.
At least I would like to set the language for a user then, so I can control which interface language is used (and adapt the PHD rules accordingly). But I haven't been able to find a setting for that. Probably I have to set it once and after that manage acces too language in System Preferences? Is there a better way?

I always like to back things up to an external hard drive though. Get a western digital external 1tb hard drive for 50 bucks online. Great thing to have. You can store all music and movies on there and free up that space on your computer so it runs smoother

  • ASPIRE V3-471G WINDOWS 10 UPGRADE LOCALE AND LANGUAGE SETTINGS

When I first tried to upgrade from Windows 7 Home basic to windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft, I got the "Something Happened" message. so I googled the problem and found out that the Language and locale should be compatible with each other. So what I did was go into Windos 7 settings and set the Language, Region, Keyboard to English USA saved the settings as new user then reboot the laptop. I then again checked the settings for uniformity as English USA. Upgrade using the Tool went on smoothly but took 3 hours because of the big download. For everyones information. Further Information here

@MattheusSilva Btw how did you activate windows 10? I thought you first need to download and install the update>get windows 10 activated and then you can get your key so you can do a clean install with a dvd. I can't even get past the install stage so I can get it activated to get my new key.

  • Date format does not change with the Regional and Language Options in 2008

I have a one-column report that was created using the SQL "select current_date" in postgres.  (Thinks select getdate() ).
In Crystal Reports XI when I change the "Standards and Formats" of Regional Options to:
English (United States)  the date is in the format mm/dd/yy
English (Canada) the date is in the format dd/mm/yy
Japan the date is in the format yyyy/mm/dd
In Crystal Reports 2008 when I change the "Standards and Formats" of Regional Options to:
English (United States)  the date is in the format mm/dd/yy
English (Canada) the date is in the format mm/dd/yy
Japan the date is in the format mm/dd/yy
It doesn't change.  Is this a bug?
    Thanks in advance,
    J

    hey Jason,
i am going through some of the old forum posts and saw that no one replied to your language options post.
for cr 2008, there are language packs for the applicable languages. there are advantages for this as you can save installation space with the option of installing language packs for each language that you want the designer application to be in.
you have seen the disadvantage as it doesn't work the same as before.
you do not need the language packs for testing though. in the crystal reports View menu, switch up to the Product Viewing Locale to test objects which are using "system" settings such as dates.
if you do wish to install any language packs so that you can change up the actual language in the designer, go to your install media. in the install files "\package\langs\" directory, you will see a folder for each language that you need. install the desired language(s).
once you have installed a language pack and then restart the cr designer, you will now have the additional language in the View > Product Locale.
so in summary...Product Locale will change the language of the whole designer...language packs are needed for this.
Preferred System Locale can be used to test languages without having to change your windows system settings.
    i hope that this helps,
    jamie

  • Lync Outlook Plug-in displays Region and Language in Meeting Invite only with Lync 2013

    Hello,
I am running Lync 2010 right now and have a some users who are using Office 2013 and Lync 2013 client. When they create an Online Meeting using the plug-in in outlook the meeting invite shows the location and number but also displays the region that number
is coming from along with the Primary Language it is available in. This does not happen with Lync 2010 client and Office 2010. I really don't think the region name and the language is important and it makes the meeting invite look messy. Is there a way to prevent
this globally? Is this what I can expect from Lync 2013, as I am in the process of deploying that now?

Holger is right, that's just the way it is and you can't really change it. You can customize what is seen in the screenshot however.    The only thing you can really do is hand edit them, or if it's the dedicated meeting space you could
cut and paste it into a signature and customize it any way you like, but that breaks other things like some of the one-click join functionality.

  • ITunes 5 and language settings

I've just installed the latest iTunes 5.0.0.35 and even though I downloaded the correct language version (English), when installing it I get iTunes in Swedish. I don't want the Swedish version but somehow I'm stuck with it. I seem to recall that iTunes 4,8 had a language setting in preferences but this seems to be missing in iTunes 5. Any ideas on how to get iTunes 5 to install in English?

You will find this issue discussed in the forum for iTunes for Windows -- nothing to do with the iPod.

  • World clock and language settings

LS, If I have my iPod set to local language (Dutch), the world clock shouws all cities in the US as been in the Netherlands, i.e.: Las Vegas, Netherlands. When the laguange set is English, cities are shown correctly, i.a. Atlanta, US. My S/W version is 1.1.2; anybody any thoughts here? THX.

mh, works fine for me, so I guess it's not a general firmware bug.
you could try to restore your ipod, I think that should help.

It seems as if you used Windows PE as a source for generating the catalog; you should use the (captured) wim instead (allthough it should not be related to your problem).
<Language> 2057 does not look familiar. WSIM should tell you if you should use something like en-US or 0409:00000409.

  • Language settings in Flex

Hello, for some reason the error messages in my Flex Builder editor are in Dutch (I'm in Holland).  I'd prefer to have them in English, as it's easier to find solutions having the exact English error message.  How do I set my Builder error messages to English?  I'm using Windows Vista.

You might try setting your system and user locales to English in Settings - Control Panel - Regional and Language Options.
You might also need to open your browsers and set the default language to English.

  • CUP 5.3 SP8 - Language Settings/Language on Requestor Screen

    CUP Experts/Users,
We are on CUP 5.3 SP8. There are several issues related to language
settings within CUP. Our default language in Configuration->Miscellaneous is English.
    - When a Requestor logs on to create in a language other than English,
most of the fields within CUP are translated to that language. However,
some values are not translated to that language. For example, we have
created 3 priority levels; High, Medium, and Low. When a Requestor logs
in in Spanish to create a request in Spanish, they are still
seeing "High, Medium, and Low." So obviously CUP is not translating
these values for us...But I am not seeing anywhere in configuration where I
can put the Spanish version of these values? Also, when I create a
custom field, this value too is not getting translated and I see no
where in configuration where I can do this? Any ideas?
    - When a Requestor logs on to create in a language other than English,
the SAP menus still remain in our default langauge of English.
Shouldn't these be translated to the user's requested language? For
example, when a user creates a request and chooses the language of
Spanish and gets logged in, the values on the left-side control panel
    still read:
    Request Access
    Request Status
    Support
    User Login
Shouldn't these be converted to Spanish? Is this a bug?
A greater understanding of CUP languages and language settings would
    also be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Jes Behrens

That certainly makes sense. I didn't expect CUP would have a smart language translator
So the question is; how do I enter data/create configuration pieces in multiple languages?
For example, If I create a custom Request Type called "Change Production Security," I want to be able to enter this for multiple languages, i.e. when a someone logs in in Spanish it would show the Spanish version of that Request Type. Currently, I see no where to do this in configuration and this is a a pretty important step.
The static Request Types that come with CUP, such as "Change Account," comes in different languages. So somewhere in CUP table, there's an entry for "Change Account" in various languages. How do I access this table? Is there a tool I can use to even find this table? Is this even possible?
    Thanks again!

  • Copy regions and settings (plugins, mixing/volume/pan, etc) to new project

    Greetings,
I am a brand new logic user and I am scoring my first film. I have two problems, one of which is addressed in the subject heading, and the other I will address now.
I didn’t realize until today that my synchronization settings were set to 25fps and the movie I am scoring is set to 23.98. This was causing huge problems when I would send the editor a cue, and he could not sync it up. I have read many posts, and I know that once I change my fps to 24, then it should be able to sync up just fine with the 23.98fps. However, because I was running my first few cues at the wrong fps, I now have to start these cues all over at 24fps. I was on apple care support via phone, and the kind person told me to set up a new project as “music for video (ntsc).” He then told me to copy the regions from my old cue and drag them into the new arrange window. I have done this, and here comes the questions:
    1. After dragging the regions from the old file (where I was running at 25fps) to the current project (which is now set to 24fps), I could only copy the music- my volume, pan, and reverb plug-ins did not copy. How can I copy everything over so I don’t have to manually adjust my mixer and reverb settings? If you know the answer, please guide me through it...I am really new to Logic!
    2. Now that I have copied the music to current project (24fps), is there a metronome conversion so I can change the old speed of running at 25 fps to 24 fps or should everything sync up automatically? My metronome is set to 104.2000 in the old cue.
I would appreciate any help I can get. Thank you.
    Best,
    Adam

    Hi Adam,
Since I don't work in film, I can't answer any of the SMPTE questions, but regarding question #1...
Go to the audio configuration window of the original cue. Under the Audio Configuration windows edit menu, select "copy".
Then open the new cue (the one set at 24fps), go to it's audio configuration window, and under the edit menu, select "paste".
This should copy all plug-ins. volumes and pans. Only do this is all your audio instruments between the songs are the same, which I will assume they are, because the audio configurations "paste" function will replace everything in the current song. But based on your description, this is what you want to do.
