Regional symbol problems using precalculation server ?

Hello,
BI server OS - AIX v6.1
BI - Netweaver v7.0
Precalc server OS - Windows 2003 SP2.
Precalc service - v7 patch 5
SAPGUI - v7.20 patch 8
Running precalculation server to generate excel report.
"SAP BW Precalculation Service Multi Instance" service logs on as prec1 windows user. Report generated this way contains wrong national symbols.
But if I log on interactively on precalculation host using prec1 and do report generation using BI analyzer - I get right regional symbols.
prec1 is windows local user and member of administrators group.
any ideas ?
thanks

  • Problems using smtp server in Mail

    Hi, I'm using Mail on my iMac (Leopard) with a POP account for my incoming mail, and an smtp-server for the outgoing mails. Everything works fine.
    Now I've also bought a new MacBook. I setup the Mail account exactly the same as on the iMac. I can recieve mails, but not send them? When I use Connection Doctor in Mail I get green markers for both incoming and outgoing servers. It says that the connection with the smtp server is fine. Still when I try to send mail it gets stuck in "Sending...", no error messages, nothing.
    When I go back to the iMac, I can still send without problems.
    Anyone have any solutions?
    I can add that if I connect my 3G module for mobile internet to the MacBook and change the smtp server accordingly to that service provider, it sends mail without problems.

    UPDATE: I was able to set up the account using Eudora, and it worked fine. I guess it means that there's something funny happing with Mail.

  • Problems using SQL Server 2014 upgrade advisor on a windows 2008 sp2 server

    I got sql server 2014 upgrade advisor up and running on a windows 2012 vm and every thing works fine, but I am having trouble installing it locally for a SSRS Box. The SSRS box is running windows 2008 sp2 enterprise edition, but when I try
    and run the SQLUA.msi install nothing happens.
    anyone else experience this issue?

    Hi jesse,
    Welcome to the forum :-)
    Can you please clarify your issue in more details. I did not understand what you are doing. What do you mean by "installing it locally for a SSRS Box". Do you mean that you are trying a simple installation which do not work, and raise an error?
    If so then (1) we dont need the extra information about "why you need the SQL Server" :-) we just need to help you install it regardless the SSRS. (2) We do need the full error log and the error message that you get.
    By the way, The SQLUA.msi is just a small utilities named "Upgrade Advisor"
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144256.aspx
    Do you want to install the SQL Server itself?
    What is your current SQL Server on the local windows 2008 server?

  • Configure precalculation server as unicode ?

    Hello,
    I have national symbol problem described here:
    [Regional symbol problems using precalculation server ?;
    We just compared correct report made interactively by live user and incorrect one made by precalculation service - looks like correct xls file chars are encoded by double byte, while incorrect one is encoded by single byte.
    Other fact is that precalc server RFC connection test if "MDMP & Unicode" is set to Unicode, never works:
    SM59->TCP/IP connections->PREC_OURPRECSERVER->MDMP & Unicode->Unicode
    returns:
    connection closed (no data)
    While RFC conn test is OK if "MDMP & Unicode" is non unicode.
    We concluded that our precalculation server runs as non unicode.
    Very similar problem here:

  • Calendar Server 3.5: Problem using user's ID with uniuser -mod command

    When there are two users who have the same Common Name (CN) in LDAP but
    different User ID's (uid
    field), I have a problem using the uid
    field as an argument to
    uniuser -mod in Netscape Calendar
    Server (NCS) 3.5. For example, there may be two users, User1 and User2, who
    both have the CN "John Smith."<BR>
    <P>
    <B>User1</B>
    uid: jsmith2
    sn: Smith
    givenname: John
    nscalxitemid: 10001:00314
    <B>User2</B>
    uid: jsmith
    sn: Smith
    givenname: John
    nscalxitemid: 10001:00213
    <P>
    Let's say I want to change the value for nsCalOrgUnit2
    for User1 to "jsmith." In NCS 4.0,
    I can specify the uid as
    an argument to uniuser -mod
    . However, in NCS 3.5, if I specify the
    uid as an argument to
    uniuser -mod, the entry
    for the user does not get changed.<BR>
    <P>
    <B>Calendar Server 4.0</B><BR>

    <BR>
    uniuser: modified "Smith, John"<BR>
    <P>
    (The LDAP entry for User1 also reflects this change.)
    <P>
    <B>Calendar Server 3.5</B><BR>
    <P>
    %uniuser -mod "ID=00314" "OU2=jsmith/OU3=People" 10001
    <BR>

    uniuser: no need to modify "Smith,John"<BR>
    <P>
    (The LDAP entry for User1 does not reflect the change.)<BR>
    <P>
    If I use the command uniuser -mod "S=Smith/G=John"
    "OU2=jsmith/OU3=People" 10001
    in NCS 3.5, the script will change the entry of the first "John Smith" in the
    database and will cause the LDAP entry for this user to be updated as well.
    However, the entry modified may or may not be the correct one. So, in
    NCS 3.5, is there a way to specify a particular uid
    to ensure that the correct LDAP entry
    is modified?
    <P>
    To modify a user's information using the uid
    field in Calendar Server 3.5, change
    the user.ini file. The
    following steps show how to change a user's information by modifying the
    .ini file:<BR>
    <P>
    <OL>
    <LI>Open the user.ini
    file, which is in the path /users/unison/misc/user.ini
    <P>
    <LI>Add a section containing the desired changes. For example,<BR>
    <P>
    [Test]<BR>
    OU2 = jsmith<BR>
    OU3 = People<BR>
    <P>
    <LI>Run uniuser with
    the following options:<BR>
    <P>
    % uniuser -mod "ID=00314" -s Test 10001
    </OL>

    It turns out to be a problem with the user Keychain. It has some weird entry that was sending the wrong password. I delete all entries to the server and that corrected the problem

  • (new?) performance problem using jDriver after a Sql Server 6.5 to 2000 conversion

    Hi,
    This is similar - yet different - to a few of the old postings about performance
    problems with using jdbc drivers against Sql Server 7 & 2000.
    Here's the situation:
    I am running a standalone java application on a Solaris box using BEA's jdbc driver
    to connect to a Sql Server database on another network. The application retrieves
    data from the database through joins on several tables for approximately 40,000
    unique ids. It then processes all of this data and produces a file. We tuned
    the app so that the execution time for a single run through the application was
    24 minutes running against Sql Server 6.5 with BEA's jdbc driver. After performing
    a DBMS conversion to upgrade it to Sql Server 2000 I switched the jDriver to the
    Sql Server 2000 version. I ran the app and got an alarming execution time of
    5hrs 32 min. After some research, I found the problem with unicode and nvarchar/varchar
    and set the "useVarChars" property to "true" on the driver. The execution time
    for a single run through the application is now 56 minutes.
    56 minutes compared to 5 1/2 hrs is an amazing improvement. However, it is still
    over twice the execution time that I was seeing against the 6.5 database. Theoretically,
    I should be able to switch out my jdbc driver and the DBMS conversion should be
    invisible to my application. That would also mean that I should be seeing the
    same execution times with both versions of the DBMS. Has anybody else seen a
    simlar situation? Are there any other settings or fixes that I can put into place
    to get my performance back down to what I was seeing with 6.5? I would rather
    not have to go through and perform another round of performance tuning after having
    already done this when the app was originally built.
    thanks,
    mike

    Mike wrote:
    Joe,
    This was actually my next step. I replaced the BEA driver with
    the MS driver and let it run through with out making any
    configuration changes, just to see what happened. I got an
    execution time of about 7 1/2 hrs (which was shocking). So,
    (comparing apples to apples) while leaving the default unicode
    property on, BEA ran faster than MS, 5 1/2 hrs to 7 1/2 hrs.
    I then set the 'SendStringParametersAsUnicode' to 'false' on the
    MS driver and ran another test. This time the application
    executed in just over 24 minutes. The actual runtime was 24 min
    16 sec, which is still ever so slightly above the actual runtime
    against SS 6.5 which was 23 min 35 sec, but is twice as fast as the
    56 minutes that BEA's driver was giving me.
    I think that this is very interesting. I checked to make sure that
    there were no outside factors that may have been influencing the
    runtimes in either case, and there were none. Just to make sure,
    I ran each driver again and got the same results. It sounds like
    there are no known issues regarding this?
    We have people looking into things on the DBMS side and I'm still
    looking into things on my end, but so far none of us have found
    anything. We'd like to continue using BEA's driver for the
    support and the fact that we use Weblogic Server for all of our
    online applications, but this new data might mean that I have to
    switch drivers for this particular application.Thanks. No, there is no known issue, and if you put a packet sniffer
    between the client and DBMS, you will probably not see any appreciable
    difference in the content of the SQL sent be either driver. My suspicion is
    that it involves the historical backward compatibility built in to the DBMS.
    It must still handle several iterations of older applications, speaking obsolete
    versions of the DBMS protocol, and expecting different DBMS behavior!
    Our driver presents itself as a SQL7-level application, and may well be treated
    differently than a newer one. This may include different query processing.
    Because our driver is deprecated, it is unlikely that it will be changed in
    future. We will certainly support you using the MS driver, and if you look
    in the MS JDBC newsgroup, you'll see more answers from BEA folks than
    from MS people!
    Joe
    >
    >
    Mike
    The next test you should do, to isolate the issue, is to try another
    JDBC driver.
    MS provides a type-4 driver now, for free. If it is significantly faster,
    it would be
    interesting. However, it would still not isolate the problem, because
    we still would
    need to know what query plan is created by the DBMS, and why.
    Joe Weinstein at BEA
    PS: I can only tell you that our driver has not changed in it's semantic
    function.
    It essentially send SQL to the DBMS. It doesn't alter it.

    You need to switch SQL server to just use SQL Server authentication or both. The problem is that it is looking for a Windows NT account for nakhter with the password java. We get this all the time on new SQL Server installs if you just take the defaults.

  • Problem using Detail group region

    Hi Guys,
    I'm having problems using a detail group container. The problem is that when the detail group is placed in the detail region group, there is no button under that group to add a new row to the group. Is this a bug in JHS or have I done something wrong?
    The reason I'm using the container is that I want selective rendering of detail groups depending on the state of an item in the parent group.
    Regards

    JDev: 10.1.3.2.0
    JHS: 10.1.3.1.26

    Bar,
    I could reproduce both problems. To fix the problem with the New button, you can change the content of the tableGroupButtons.vm template:
    #if ($JHS.page.hasDetailPageComponents || $JHS.page.hasGroupRegionPageComponents)
    <af:panelButtonBar id="${group.shortName}TableGroupButtons">
    #JHS_PARSE("NEW_BUTTON_NOT_IN_FORM_LAYOUT" ${JHS.current.model})
    </af:panelButtonBar>
    #end
    To fix the issue with the roles check, you can enter the rendered expression that is missing in the rendered property of the group region.

  • I'm having a problem running, closing vi's using vi server..

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem. I have a vi called A. This is a user interface where the operator enters some parameters. When an OK button is pressed, I would like to call another vi, called B, using vi server and close this vi. Note that vi B does not display it's front panel. I do this in a sequence where I call vi B then on the next frame close vi A.
    What happens is vi A closes but vi B never runs. I have a Open Vi Reference in vi B at the beginning to open a reference to itself to try to keep it into memory, but same problem. Now the funny part is if I run vi A with execution highlighted, vi B runs. What gives?
    Thanks for any help!

    This is something i once heard about, it seems that if you have a reference opened to a vi, this will be running untill you close the reference AND the front panel, so in your case when you close the reference to B and it's front panel (never opened) you just act as if you were closing your vi's front panel, quiting it. In highlight execution, you can see your B vi's front panel, so you don't close it, as long as you give time until A and the reference to B are closed.
    Hope this helps

    EVALUATE('Rank( %1.dimension.currentmember,%2.members)' AS INTEGER , "MIC"."MIC_DL"."dbo"."DM_DATE"."CAL_MONTH", "MIC"."MIC_DL"."dbo"."DM_DATE"."CAL_MONTH")
    Then I set the the Sort Order column with the CAL_MONTH column.
    But this is giving me the following error when retrieving thru presentation layer
    Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P
    State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 16002] Cannot obtain number of columns for the query result. (HY000)
    SQL Issued: SELECT DM_DATE.CAL_MONTH saw_0 FROM MIC_DL ORDER BY saw_0
    I used the expression Rankover in place of Rank but nothing fruitful.
    Pls. guide.
