Regions - Reports (based on sql) - Radio Buttons
Hi there
Trying to do :
Selecting an option from Radiogroup, want to see certain report (summary). That report have a column that has a link to another page.
RadioGroup :
Options
View 1
View 2
View1
Column1 (link), Column2, Column3, Column4
View2
Column1 (link), Column2, Column3
Note By
Select Option 1, show only Report 1 - View 1, View 2 invisible.
Any ideas ?
Can't figure how ?
Region Definition is ok (when switching) but format side of report attributes is tricky...can't get that to switch...

Are you missing an ODBC / TNS entry on your CMS (or report processing, if clustered env) server? This could definately be an issue if the report will run locally within CR client, but not when hosted on the enterprise environment. Another test would be to run the report from CR client ON the CRS / BOE server..

Bold a single row in a Report based on SQL Query
Should be easy? So, how do I bold a single row in a report based on SQL query without creating a new template or writing Java for the page? What is the Tabular Form Element "Element Attributes" field for? Or what am I supposed to put in there to make it do anything?
One way to do this is to add a hidden column to your report which contains the formatting value, for example:
select empno
, ename
, sal
, decode(empno,1,'font-weight:bold','font-weight:normal') style
from emp
Hide the STYLE column.
Then you can use this column for each column in Column Formatting > HTML expression in this way:
<span style="#STYLE#">#SAL#</span>
Unfortunately you have to do this for each colum you want to appear bold.
good luck,

Report should executed based on the radio buttons on the selection screen
Hi everyone,
Greets....................
My scenario is I have 2 selection screen blocks on same screen..
One selection screen block contains input parameters as follows
Company Code - S_BUKRS
Business Area - S_GSBER
Customer Code - S_KUNNR
Fiscal Area - S_GJAHR
GL Account - S_HKONT
Posting Date -S_ZFBDT
Ledger Type -P_RLDNR
Open Item Key Date - P_ZFBDT
Another selection screen block contains 2 radio buttons with the option as follows
Collection Plan
*Credit days summary.
If i click Collection plan the report output should come based on the input parameters in first selection-screen block.
If i click Credit days summary the report output should come based on the input parameters in first selection-screen block.
Pls send me the sample code for this.
Thanks in Advance
Regards
Raj kumarSee the below folling example : it will have radio buttons and depends on radio button it will show output.

Report Based on SQL view not pulling in all parameters
Post Author: ronhawker
CA Forum: .NET
I based a report on a SQL view below:SELECT TOP (100) PERCENT CorpDirectory.Position, CorpDirectory.PhoneDirect, CorpDirectory.Email, CorpDirectory.Store, CorpDirectory.Name, CorpDirectory.PhoneFaxWave, CorpDirectory.Department, Store.StoreName, Store.StoreStreetAddress, Store.StoreCity, Store.StoreState, Store.StoreZip, Store.StorePhone, CorpDirectory.DisplayOrderFROM dbo.CorpDirectory AS CorpDirectory INNER JOIN dbo.Store AS Store ON CorpDirectory.Store = Store.StoreORDER BY CorpDirectory.Store, CorpDirectory.Department, CorpDirectory.DisplayOrder, CorpDirectory.Name When the report was created the order by sequence only brought in the first parameter of CorpDirectory.Store. It seemed to ignore the other three order by parameters. I am running 10.2 is VS2005.Sharmila,
Thanks for your response. Maybe I wasn't clear enough in my previous statement. I will give an example of what I am trying to accomplish.
Let's say I have 2 date fields(SUBMITDATE,COMPLETEDATE) in a table TABLE A
I want to calculate a field called CYCLETIME with the following conditions:
If COMPLTEDATE is NULL, then CYCLETIME = SYSDATE-SUBMITDATE
IF COMPLTEEDATE is not null, then CYCLETIME = COMPLTEEDATE-SUBMITDATE
Would appreciate any help.
Thanks
Dev
Hi,
You can do the calculation in the sql query itself. Here is an example which shows the sum of salaray for each department in the scott.emp table.
select deptno,sum(sal) sal
from scott.emp
group by deptno
Thanks,
Sharmila -
What we want to do is ask our new clients their preferred method of billing: Credit Card, Invoiced, ACH.
If they choose Credit Card, credit card info fields will show up.
If invoiced, Billing Address field shows up.
If ACH, bank account and routing number fields show up.
Is this possible to do?Yes, this is one of the features of web-based forms in FormsCentral. You will use conditional elements (show/hide logic) to allow certain elements to hide or display.
See this page for more info: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/formscentral/help/edit-field-properties.html#conditiona l_form_elements
You create all of your fields: Credit Card, Billing Address, and Bank routing and account number fields, and then only have them show up as a condition of which of the radio buttons the user selects.
I hope this helps,

Hello,
I have an LOV_COLS, which contains the columns of scott.emp and is represented by a list P50_MY_COLS, and textfield P50_SEARCHTERM where I can enter a search term.
Now I like to have a report which displays something like SELECT EMPNO, ENAME, MGR, SAL, COMM FROM EMP WHERE UPPER(:P50_MY_COLS) LIKE UPPER(:P50_SEARCHTERM) if a button P50_SEARCH is pressed.
I'd like also to control the Columns if they contain NULL. The report should display the respective rows after pressing the Button P50_NULLSEARCH
After the desired rows are reported I'd like to be abel to edit the rows...
How can this be realized ? What is the source of the report ?
I use the Apex 2.1 which comes with the Oracle XE installation.
Can someone provide an example ?
Where in the docs are the differences (with examples) of the different sql and plsql based reports explained ?
Can a report by based on a plsql procedure/function which resides in the database (not inside the Apex-pages) ?
thx in advance

Reports based on SQL view contain no data. Reports based on tables work just fine
When we load a report into Crystal reports server that is based on a SQL view the report will run but will contain no data. A report that pulls data from SQL tables works just fine. Running the crystal report on standalone crystal reports works just fine.
I am completely lost on this one. If you have any ideas please send them my way.Are you missing an ODBC / TNS entry on your CMS (or report processing, if clustered env) server? This could definately be an issue if the report will run locally within CR client, but not when hosted on the enterprise environment. Another test would be to run the report from CR client ON the CRS / BOE server..

Report Layout width(Report based on SQL Query)
Is there any way to increase the width of the report layout? I have removed as many columns as I can and dropped the font size down but the data in the columns is still wrapping to more than one line. How can I increase the report layout width, or change the layout to landscape or something similar.
thanksI had this problem with wrapping text. You have to create a Reports From SQL Query and choose a custom layout. Then when you go the the HTML layout section, you will need to ad nowrap to the <TD> tag (i.e. <TD nowrap>) for each field you do not want to wrap.

How do I make a Radio Button Widget Report to an LMS?
Alright....still trying to solve my basic problem.....
I can put in a radio button widget which looks great, but radio buttons do not report info to LMS. THen I can use Ravvi's code style to set a variable based on which radio button was clicked and then take a specific action depending on the value. The action I want is to send info to LMS. How can I do this?I may have, but I have run across many Survey forms that do exactly that.
Some also have checkboxes as well and they are used for Check all that apply.
For all I know they may be using JavaScript code for the buttons to react the way the do.
I don't know if any of you are old enough to remember the old two button light switches. push one in and the others pop out. Push the other in and the first pops out. That's the button action I see on many survey forms.
I am not saying it correct. But if its not correct, how does one change their mind if the clicked the wrong choice? -
Problem to run the Crystal report inside from SAP B1 based on SQL views.
Hello,
I have a problem to run my Crystal report inside from SAP B1 which is based on SQL views.And the SQL views are stored in a separate database in SQL server.The error which i am getting is saying the the tablename does not exist.What i need to do in order to sort this problem.
Great if somebody can help me to sort out this so that i can run my report based on SQL views stored on separate database other than SAP databases inside from SAP B1.
Edited by: rozenagrawal on Apr 19, 2011 11:51 AMTry using a SQL synonym in your company database for the views outside the company database. I don't know if SBO will let you get away with it, but its worth a shot.
If your company database is MyCompany and you have a view called MyView in Views database, assuming the view belongs to schema dbo, and you want the synonym to belong to dbo schema in your company database, run this:
Use MyCompany
go
create synonym dbo.OutsiderView for
Views.dbo.MyView
go
select * from OutsiderView
The select statement should return the contents of MyView in the Views database while you are connected to your MyCompany database.
For more info, see the Books Online for MSSQL on topic synonym.
You will need to change your CR options to include displaying synonyms along with tables, views, etc. You may also need to grant select to B1 users.

Radio Button and combo box in Pdf Report.
Hi,
I have to make a PDF report with text box,radio buttons and combo boxes.
The data in the text box will populate from the data base table.
Similarly the radion button will enable the particular radio button from a set of available radion buttons as per the value from the database.
Same with combo boxes.
The report putput should come in PDF.
ThanksHi,
The report sud be pdf output with details like name of person showing in textbox ,then there will be list of radio buttons out of which particular radio button will be checked as per the option for that particular person in the database.same with combox with for example A,B,C option from the look up is coming but it will be showing the option as per the name of person.We can take the name of person as the primary key.
The Problem with input controls is that they can be used to filter the report as radio buttons and combo box but they can't be sown in the report itself. -
Hi,
Can you please let me know how to add the radio button in the selection criteria of the ABAP/4 Query.
InfoSet is developed by joining two tables. It does not include any LDB.
Requirement:
Based on the Radio button value given in the selection-screen, I need to filter the records.
For this, I need to add the radio-button on the selection-screen of the report.
Please let me know how to add the radio button on the selection-criteria of the report.
and also let me know is there any possibility to change the InfoSet attached to the query.
Thanks,
Madhuri.HI

R2 RADIOBUTTON GROUP RAD1,
R3 RADIOBUTTON GROUP RAD1.
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK B1.

Authorization Check on Radio Button
Hi,
I have a custom report which has a radio button. Can I provide the authorization on this radio button, meaning only selected no. of users can run this report with radio button checked. I know it's possible through maintaining a list of users in custom table, But I want to check if we can do it using authorization object/group etc...Birendra, you're absolutely correct that we need to consider future maintenance efforts. But this is exactly a weak side of the parameter approach that you've suggested. The jet analogy is impressive, but way out of proportion in this case.
Using authority check command in ABAP code and modifying screen elements is not hard-coding. The parameter approach also requires writing some code, so it has no advantage here.
Also it requires someone (a Basis admin?) to update the user profile and a table entry that you've mentioned. To use the standard authorizations, only one authorization object will need to be created (although it may even be possible to use another, existing object if it's the same authorization level). It won't take more space or more time to create than an SM30 entry. Updating the roles might be more of a hassle than updating the user parameter, but the difference can hardly be considered significant and it's a one-time thing anyway.
It is a matter of preference whether to hide a control, disable it or display a message. (By the way, in many standard transactions you'll find that controls or menu options are hidden/disabled based on authorization, so it is nothing exotic.) But I stand by my suggestion of using standard authorization check functionality specifically because it makes the future maintenance easier.
1) Basis admins most likely already maintain some document regarding the role assignment. It might be actually easier to them to maintain the roles than to keep track of the additional profile parameter and remember it in future.
2) Imagine years from now you're gone and all the new people are maintaining the system. The user gets a 'no authorization' message and, naturally, contacts a system admin. Again, naturally, admin will check security trace. Now guess what - your parameter thingy cannot be tracked anywhere. No one knows about it and it will take an ABAPer to figure this out.
With standard approach it will only take a second to run SU53 and a few minutes to resolve an issue by a Basis admin. Additionally, authorization objects have 'where used' button, so it would be easy to check if and where the object is used (e.g. if the report has been changed/deleted it will be easy to spot the 'orphaned' object). With the profile parameter sooner or later someone will have to wonder what the heck it is for and might accidentally delete it. By the way, sometimes users actually have access to their own parameters, so it's not a very secure option either.
I understand you mean well, but, unfortunately, in my work quite frequently I have to deal with some things that were developed by well-meaining consultants who overlooked some long-term effects of their approach. -
Cfdiv refreshes binding to radio buttons
Hi,
Fairly simple issue that I can't find much information about
through google (just one report of it involving a workaround for a
cfgrid rather than a cfdiv).
I have a cfdiv that is bound to a cfselect and two radio
buttons, ala:
<cfdiv
bind="url:schedule-snippet.cfm?selectAll={selectAll}&orderBy={orderBy}&startDate={startDa te}"
id="schedule">
selectAll and orderBy are both radio buttons, each of which
has two states. startDate is a cfselect.
The problem is that the cfdiv does not auto-refresh based on
whichever radio button I pass in second -- e.g. in the example
above, it will refresh based on the selectAll radio button but not
the orderBy radio button. If I bind it this way:
<cfdiv
bind="url:schedule-snippet.cfm?orderBy={orderBy}&selectAll={selectAll}&startDate={startDa te}"
id="schedule">
Then it will refresh from the orderBy but not the selectAll.
Even more interesting is that, if I put the cfselect
(startDate) AFTER the second radio button in the bind list (as
above) then it won't refresh from that, either. It just sort of
'stops' auto-refreshing once you put in a radio button value. with
anything after that value in the list.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Samthis is strange and must be a bug... i have reproduced your
situation
exactly.
i have ran all sorts of tests, and always the second radio
set does not
trigger cfdiv refresh.
setting the first bind param in your cfdiv to your cfselect
will make
the div refresh on change in the cfselect and the first
binded radio
group, but not the second one.
same with checkboxes instead of radio buttons - the second
binded set of
checkboxes never triggers the cfdiv refresh.
having cfdiv bind to 3 selects instead of 1 select and 2
radio/checkbox
groups works fine - cfdiv refreshes on change in any of the
selects.
furthermore, adding another cfselect and binding cfdiv to
that as well
(so 4 controls cfdiv is binded to now) starts throwing js
errors in
ajax.js file... but also makes everything work after you
ignore the
error (cfdiv refreshes on change in any of the 4 controls).
definitely a bug - you may want to submit it to adobe.
one work-around may be to cal a js function from the second
radio
group's onclick event which will get surrent values of the 3
controls
and use ColdFusion.navigate to refresh the cfdiv...

Reg Radio Buttons configured as a group
Hi,
I have 5 search regions and 5 radio buttons on a page.I have configured 5 radio buttons as a group.I have done a PPR on radio buttons whereby based on the radio button clicked the corresponding Search region(OAF Query region) is rendered on the page.So when a radio button is clicked, it shows a query region with a "Go" and "Clear" button.
1."Go" button is working fine for all query regions but "Clear" is working only for the query region rendered by the last radio button,... that is which ever radio button is last on the page....it alone clears the data on the search fields.(irrespective of query region it is clearing all the search criteria's).For the rest of the radio buttons when "Clear" is clicked it does not clear the search fields.
2.Each Query region is based on a different View object and the VO's are read only.
The code written for configuring all the radio buttons as a group is:
(Here..Customer,Item,Arrow,registration,supplier are the five radio buttons)
OAMessageRadioButtonBean customerButton = (OAMessageRadioButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("CustomerRB");
customerButton.setName("SearchRG");
customerButton.setValue("Customer");
OAMessageRadioButtonBean partButton = (OAMessageRadioButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("PartRB");
partButton.setName("SearchRG");
partButton.setValue("Item");
OAMessageRadioButtonBean arrowButton = (OAMessageRadioButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("ArwUniqueNumRB");
arrowButton.setName("SearchRG");
arrowButton.setValue("Arrow");
OAMessageRadioButtonBean regButton = (OAMessageRadioButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("RegNumRB");
regButton.setName("SearchRG");
regButton.setValue("Registration");
OAMessageRadioButtonBean manfButton = (OAMessageRadioButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("ManufacturerRB");
manfButton.setName("SearchRG");
manfButton.setValue("Supplier");
Thanks,
SwarnaThanks for the reply...I have checked in Dev guide.It is given that...for multiple query regions with auto customization mode I have to
1.Set the Add Indexed Children property of the container for the query bean to false.---But query bean does not have Add Indexed Children attribute..where to set this?
2.Call the oracle.apps.fnd.framework.webui.OAQueryUtils createSecondaryQueryBean API---I tried doing this....by...
OAQueryBean custQueryBean = (OAQueryBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("CustQueryRN");
OAQueryBean itemQueryBean = (OAQueryBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("ItemQueryRN");
OAQueryBean arwQueryBean = (OAQueryBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("ArwUnqNumQueryRN");
OAQueryBean suppQueryBean = (OAQueryBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("SupplierQueryRN");
OAQueryBean regQueryBean = (OAQueryBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("RegNumQueryRN");
OAHeaderBean hdrBean = (OAHeaderBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("SimpleSearchHdrRN");
Now I am supposed to call the API which I am not able to:
I have tried writing it as below but it hasnt worked.....
hdrBean.createSecondaryQueryBean(pageContext,webBean,itemQueryBean,"1");
I am supposed to call this API for all my radio butons apart from the first:
createSecondaryQueryBean(pageContext,webBean,itemQueryBean,"1");
createSecondaryQueryBean(pageContext,webBean,arwQueryBean,"2");
createSecondaryQueryBean(pageContext,webBean,suppQueryBean,"3");
createSecondaryQueryBean(pageContext,webBean,regQueryBean,"4");
How do I proceed?
