Register a DB in OiD 2.0.6

In one NTServer it was installed OiD 2.0.6.
In other NT there was the LdapDB (rdbms8.1.7).
Two configSets (with and without SSL) were created using "oidctl", and got linked to the LdapDB.
A second db TEST was created. Then using "netca" the ldap.ora file was configured for this DB. But when trying to register TEST to the OiD using the DBCAssistant, after specifying the UserDN and password it aborts with error msg in a popup window:
"Unable to create database entry in the directory service".
I did not find this error documented anywhere.

Before I attempt to address your problem I would like you to take a look at the Net8 Admin guide for 8.1.7. Chapter 6 of this Admin guide shows you exactly how to configure OID as a name server. Please read through this Admin guide and them repost any remaining question you have.

Problem to register database 9. in OID 10.1.2

Hello,
I try to register a database version 9.2 in my ldap OID 10.1.2 with utility dbca (for implementing user enterprise) , I have executed this operation for an 10.2 database without problem.
I don't use wallet just password authentification.
dbca have create an entry in my spfile, rdbms_server_dn. But when no entry is created in my OID...
If someone have an idea.

I am not sure if you were able to resolve it or not. In case not then here is the solution. you have to create a wallet using owm for 9i database and then generate a certificate using oca( thats a default certificate authority that oracle provides). once you generate the certificate in oca, import it in wallet. specify wallet location in sqlnet.ora of this 9i database. After completing these steps you should be able to register.

Register Oracle Streams with OID

I'm trying to setup an Oracle Streams environment that registers queues with OID. I have the db registered, and set global_toppic_enabled=true. DB is in archivemode. When I try to setup a queue with:

I never use streams with OID but check Bug 4996133 - OERI[kcbgtcr_5] updating an IOT in RAC environment.
I would consider to upgrade db to 10.2.0.3 - it is first really stable release of 10gR2

I want to use the database users through OID.(SSO enabled) so that the access can be centralised through OID & I don't need to sign on at different levels.
I am trying with the documents provided by Oracle (Advance security guide) but when trying to register the database with OID. It fails....(doesn't show any error message, only a button(OK) to close the screen.)
Any idea ?? Is there any other way to do this ?? Please let me know.

EBS is creating users in OID, when it shouldn't. Wrong profiles?

I'm integrating EBS 12.1.6 with OAM 11g and OID11g. I've got Single Sign On working fine, but I noticed that when a user is created in EBS, it automatically gets created in OID too.
My users will be manually created in both OID and EBS through other processes so I really just need them to be linked. I registered the instance and oid with provisionType=4 (bidirectional sync no create).
I have these profile options set:
Applications SSO Auto Link User: Enabled
Applications SSO Login Types: Both
Application SSO LDAP Synchronization: Enabled
Applications SSO Enable OID Identity Add Event: Disabled
Link Applications user with OID user with same username: has no value
But I can't find documentation on what these various options do.
Anyone have any experience with this?

AutoConfig is exiting with status 1 And ORACLE error 6502 in afpodbinit

Hi Experts,
Excuse me for trying to brief the Issue in such manner which may not be apt. or appear stupid to many Experts.   But I am newbie to Oracle Apps !
After registering the EBS R12.1 Vision, DB version 11.2.0.3.0   with OID 11.1.1.6 successfully with $FND_TOP/bin/txkrun.pl   Before that Registered EBS Instance with OID
   as part of Integrating EBS R12 with OAM-OID 11g according to (ID :1309013.1)
    Once i updated these profile options i.e "Applications SSO Type" profile option to “SSWA w/SSO” and“Applications SSO Login Types” profile option to   BOTH ,   AND
Applications SSO Auto Link User profile option to “Enabled” And “Applications SSO Enable OID Identity Add Event” profile option to “Enabled”.
And than it requyire the EBS tier to be restarted Once i restarted it Than the following Issues Occured.
   1. As i specified the provisiontype value to 1 which means that the user that's got created in OID should be populated in fnd_user table in EBS But this is not happening
        as the User that i 've created with the ODSM is not propagated to fnd_user table when i verified it with the following query
               select USER_NAME, CREATION_DATE from fnd_user where creation_date > (SYSDATE - 1);
                   The Output : no rows selected
2. The EBS Login page become inaccessible that is the Login Page goes blank
3. opmn managed are running fine But when i checked the status of adcmctl got the following error,

Load balancing SSO

Is SSO (OC4j, OSSO, and Apache) stateless? In other words, I am trying to see if I could install SSO on multiple machines and then use a load balancer in front of the servers. Each of the SSO servers would be registered with a single OID server.

That document talks about this but it doesn't say if the load balancer should be set with sticky sessions or not for SSO.

Error configuring identity management

Hi, i´ve installed a middle tier instance of AS 10g , and i want to register it into a oid instance, but when i try to do this trough EM it fails and show the following information in the logs, could anobody help us, I'm sure that the oid is up and running.

Self Registration and More

Hello Everyone,
We are trying to protect one resource. We have installed Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite and also OID, OVD.
What we want is to create external users through self registration in OIM and then provisioned them to OID. but what after user creation, will those users just stare at the screen. I mean, is there any way to redirect them to OAM protected resource link ?
Or another thing that I came across while I googled was that: user goes to protected resource link and he is a new user so he clicks on new registration button from there he gets redirected to OIM S Registration link, there he gets self registered and provisioned to OID, and again get redirected back to that OAM protected resource page.
Dont know if above thing is possible or not, if it is ? Please let me know how it can be achieved.

Oracle App Server limit user access

Hi guys!
Is there such function in OAS where I can limit a users access to a certain page?
I have registered my users in OID and I want to set limits to specific pages (limiting which user can access which page or not)...

They are different. Oracle Application Server is Oracle's application server prior to the BEA acquisition. WebLogic Server is a completely separate product and will be the strategic application server going forward at Oracle, although Oracle Application Server will still be maintained and supported.

AQ create table

I am trying to get AQ to work with OID. I have registered the database with OID and I am now trying to create tables. When I execute

This happened after I set global_topic_enabled = true. But according to the documentation, I need global_topic_enabled=true to get the queues to be automatically registered with the LDAP server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately I am also the LDAP administrator. I have no idea how to configure OID. All I did is to follow

to setup the application server and register the database to OID. What do I need to do on the OID side?

OCS 10.1.2 Need urgent help on installing apps

Hi,
I am on my way installing OCS 10.1.2 for my company an ran into an irrational error while installing OCS applications.
1. I installed the OCS Database on a RAC cluster. DB works!
2. I installed Identity Management on another system. Installation worked and oidadmin works.
3. I tried to install OCS apps and got the error: There are no OCS databases registered with the specidfied OID.
I started the OCSdbSchemaReg script and got the message: database already registered.
Is there anybody out there who got this confusion too and solved the problem. I don't know where to search for errors or how to fix them.

Hi again,
I got a solution and want to share it. I noticed that I ran a script named unlock.sql to solve my previous mentioned problems. So I changed all passwords.
Now I used ldapsearch to get all saved passwords for the accounts and changed them back to the value which is stored in OID. And now I get a step further.
Unfortunately the next screen does not appear because the password of WKPROXY is not right. I think there is another node within OID where the password of the WKPROXY account OCS uses is stored, but I did not found it yet.
Any hints wellcome. If I got it,I will come back.
