You would get the redemption code, or perhaps even the serial number, from whomever you purchased the software from, apparently Amazon, so talk to them. This wouldn’t be the first time they’ve sold something that didn’t have all the numbers needed to license it.
A redemption code is something that is usually on the inner disc packaging if you purchase the media in a box, and there is a barcode on the outside of the packaging that must be scanned at the checkout register to activate the hidden inner code so you can redeem it at home on that website. This is what happens if you buy PSE from a brick-and-mortar store like Best Buy. I don’t’ know what happens if you purchase the downloaded version as I have never done that.
A redemption code is 24-digits of letters and numbers that you enter into a website to get a serial number, once and only once. The serial number of only 24-digits, no letters, is what you enter into the software during the install or when you run it and it asks if you want to register or run in a trial mode—whatever the exact phrasing is.
In any case it sounds like you don’t have either a redemption code or serial number—although perhaps something is listed on the purchase confirmation or your account online at Amazon or even in an e-mail from Amazon.

If you don't have original install disks for your Mac, you can order replacements disks directly from Apple at a nominal cost. The original install DVDs are required to reset the password.
If you have no data on your drive that you want to keep, you can boot up from the OSX Snow Leopard disk and install OSX SL.
Insert the Snow Leopard DVD and hold the C key during startup. The Mac should boot from the CD/DVD drive into the installer.
Follow the prompts, erase the disk and install OSX Snow Leopard.

How can I use metric units in Page Setup dialog box?

When I go to my Page Setup dialog box, in Margins tabs, I see that I can specify the margins in inches. However, in my friends PCs, I have seen Page Setup dialog boxes that use millimeters for handling margins.
How can I make my version of Firefox to use millimeters instead of inches? Using this obscure unit is inconvenient for me. I prefer to use the internationally-accepted metric unit.

I can't find documentation about the settings, so you'll need to experiment a bit. I hope you're using A4 paper size instead if US- Letter, because I suspect that you will find out that the length of the paper won't be able to be set to Letter if you use the metric size unit setting.

The deployment script I have posted previously to copy a project mdl over to a new repository for local deployment includes creating a control center, making it the default for your project, creating the locations, assigning them to the control center, and registering them.

To unregister a location, first you want to undeploy anything deployed from it to avoid dangling references int he repository, and then unregister the location.
I do that in the following drop_project script that we use to delete an old copy of the project before importing the new version.

Now, note that I don't un-deploy any tables, views, sequences etc. We use Designer as our location of record for the data model metadata so our OWB project never deploys any object metadata except for mappings. Your setup may be different, still this should point you in the right direction.

I'm using OS Mavericks now in my macbook pro, I need help and suggestions regarding open vpn application that i can use for my laptop so that i can access my server in my office even im out of town and country. I found vpn network setup in network preference but i dont know how to setup. also others are suggesting macports for mac but still difficult to analyze and setup. I need to troubleshoot in terminal which i'm not familiar with commands. Please help me guys! Please!

You're going to need to figure out the required settings for the VPN server you're working with, whether you use the standard client or some add-on. That information is a prerequisite for a VPN client; for any VPN client.
If the standard VPN client present in OS X doesn't and cannot be gotten to work, then something like IPSecuritas or the OpenVPN client would be a typical fallback choice, but IPSecuritas is far more flexible — which means far more complex. These clients are available as application downloads; no Brew or MacPorts required.
Is this your server you're connecting into? Or is somebody else controlling it?
If it's your server and thus your VPN server, then you'll have the option to get either the VPN server in the gateway firewall box or the VPN server running in the target system configured to allow the OS X VPN client to work.
If the server is controlled by somebody else, ask them for the settings necessary for the VPN client.
As Barney-15E states, using Brew or MacPorts won't help, unless you're installing the VPN client that way — which would be a little unusual — and you're still going to have to figure out the L2TP / IPSec or PPTP or other settings here, irrespective of how the VPN client gets installed.

Arch linux install and setup questions

Personally it seems a bit to cumbersome to have to setup xorg etc and is proving to be difficult in getting it to work right. Do they have any arch forks that just auto detect the xorg settings like some of the other distros?
I can't see myself having to setup several of these boxes and doing these install steps one at a time for each one.
It would seem arch could just run a script once installed that would auto sync, download xorg, and setup xorg at the same time.

That's the whole point with arch. It's all up to you. Arch doesn't suggest anything for you (exept what you need to get a working linux enviroment).
This is the reason i installed arch. I wanted control over my inviromet and learn more about what's under the hood.

BPE and Setup crashes.

When I try to launch the BPE or "lh setup" on a freshly unzipped IDM 8.1 Patch 2 or Patch 3, then the setup tool window can be seen flickering shortly and then the process just ends and drops me back to DOS box. The same happens for the BPE right after selecting an environment folder. The BPE window seems to initialize, flickers shortly on the screen and then the java process just quits.
I do not get any error mesage or exception. This only happens in 8.1 Patch 2 and 3 - when I try the same in 8.1.0,it just works as expected. Java version is 1.5
However, when trying to launch the BPE or setup on Java 6, I get the following exception:

Is this a known issue or am I missing something, any ideas?

I had the same problem. I assume many people will have this problem so here's the fix:

lh config command does not seem to be working. Installing another version of IdM 8.1 (without the patch) and connecting to the new repository seem to be working fine.
Solution
There a diffrance in Command.class in idmcommon\com\waveset\util. The diffrance is minor but it seem to be affecting the BPE.

Printing directly to printer without Print setup dialog box

I am using Crystal Reports 2008 with VB.NET 2008. Using the CrystalReportViewer control, how can I print directly to the printer without having the Print setup dialog box popup every time?

Only way would be to create your own print button and use the report engine APIs. A good sample app is vbnet_win_printtoprinter in this sample download:

Is Premiere CC really color accurate (without and I/O box)

I know the subject has been asked many times, but it's not really clear if Premiere (starting from CS5) is color accurate or not when using it without and external I/O box.
First, here's my setup: imac, premiere CC, HP Dreamcolor LP2480zx and an original Matrox MXO. I've used this setup to color correct music videos, feature documentaries, etc... to broadcast levels, without any problem. So I know it's cheap but accurate enough for professional broadcast work. The MXO works in FCP and/or Apple Color, isn't compatible with Premiere (it's the old one, not the MXO2): but for the case, it send an accurate video signal to the monitor.
What I've done to check the accuracy of the Premiere Video output:
1) Calibrate the HP Dreamcolor to Rec. 709 (2,2 gamma).
2) Check the calibrated display using the blue mode in the MXO panel. It's accurate, no need to adjust Hue, Chroma or anything else and I see the pluge bar.
3) As the MXO can't be used in Premiere as video output, I disconnect it and I connect the calibrated monitor via the displayport connection. There's no I/O anymore, but the monitor is calibrated and accurate.
4) In Premiere CC, I load the same color bars. I create a fake (and poor) "blue only" mode, loading the "Channel mixer" effect and removing the red and green channel. You'll get a blue only chart to check if the display is color calibrated accurately. No surprises, there's nothing to adjust.
BUT, the pluge bar isn't visible. I have to rise the brightness/luminance of the monitor from 120cd/m2 to 250cd/m2 in order to see it. So, it seems that the colors are accurate, but the black point is not.
I'm lost here. If Premiere CC is color accurate (at least in my setup) without an I/O box, using a calibrated monitor, what's happening to the blacks? Is there anything I'm missing, or something in the settings I should check out?

I calibrate the monitor connected to the displayport. Then, I change the connection to the MXO (it's a miniDP to DVI connector to the box and from the box DVI to DVI), to check that the monitor is calibrated correctly using the built-in blue-mode (similar to what you'l get on a crt pro monitor). Once it's checked, I connect again the monitor directly to the displayport getting the box out of the setup, because Premiere doesn't support it.
But to be more specific, even if I keep the box connected and use the calibrated monitor this way in Premiere (even if it can't use the MXO video output), I get the same results.
There's no doubt Premiere is professional, I've used it for a lot of pro work. My question is related to the color accurate YUV to RGB conversion without the need of a I/O box, that's supposed to be accurate starting from CS5.5. And in my setup, the black point isn't accurate (I can't see the pluge bar without bringing up brightness/luminance), while colors (red, green and blue) are. And I'm looking for some info to get this right.

I dont know much about databases and setting up, but I had to create a website for a school project and now I want that people can register and login.
I couldnt really a good tutorial but I saw that I need to setup a database.
I really have no idea how or what so I hope you guys have time for a noob like me and want to explain me.

You'll need to become familiar with databases (like mySQL) and server side scripting (like PHP).
Connecting your database to your website is done through server scripting. While DW can be used to do this, it's something that will really require you to learn the basics those two items.
I'd suggest taking the time to read a good book or two on mySQL and PHP (they usually go hand in hand for most books). That will generally give you the base info needed to make a simple username/password database and site. Once you have that under your belt, you'll probably want to learn more and more PHP. It's a very flexible language and can do a lot of very useful things for your websites.

Any way to see ICONS in Open and Close Dialog boxes?

Is there any way to see ICONS in Open and Close Dialog boxes, instead of just lists of items names?
I know you can preview one at a time, but I'd love to see all my artwork as picture icons, just as you can in a finder window.
Windows does this, but not OSX that I know of. Is there a third party app that enables you to see icon view in the Open and Close Dialogs?

Thank you Steve Jobs. I guess that feature has been added in Leopard. Now there really is nothing that I'll miss from Windoze.
