Register Iphone in Dubai - bought in USA

Hi Guys,
Hope you are doing well.
I live in United Arab Emirates, Dubai.
I just bought new Iphone 3G in USA during vacation trip, in an apple store in Santa Monica, not linked to any contract ( bought $699).
Back to Dubai, I cannot register my Iphone on Itunes.
Is this phone locked ?
I went to Etisalat (local network provider) and to Apple distributor, they do not know what to do...
Do you guys have answers for me ?

The iphone is carrier locked.
Hacking the iphone cannot be discussed here and is not supported by Apple.
Also, the warranty for iphone is only good in the country of purchase, so you will not be able to get warranty support in your country.

Yes, the iPhone 5S is a global phone. However, Sprint will only unlock phones for use on GSM networks outside of the U.S. In the U.S., that phone can only be used on Sprint's network.

Since FaceTime is banned & removed from all iPhones sold from official sources in the UAE, if purchased from an official source, your phone won't have FaceTime & there's no way to add it back.
If your phone does have FaceTime, that means it's a grey market import, & could have originated from who knows where, & may have been hacked to unlock it.

According to our records, this serial number is registered to another Apple ID. If you have more than one Apple ID, log in to My Support Profile with that Apple ID to see your other registered products. Not sure if you have another Apple ID? Find out.

Nope. All AT&T iPhones are locked to AT&T & there is no way to get them officially unlocked, as AT&T will not unlock an iPhone for anyone for any reason. You could only use it in India while roaming with AT&T-cost a small fortune.

iP5 is a tricky item.
In Switzerland only iP5 sold in Switzerland, Model A1429 (GSM model) will work with full functions.
This model is not sold in USA.
Even though same model is also sold in many European, Middle East and Asian Countries, there would be warrantee issues as iPhone's do not have it internationally.

It is the iPhone that only has a warranty in the country it was purchased in. Everything else has an international warranty.

You can send it to someone you know in the US to have them take it in for service or you can get on a plane and take it there yourself. You can not ship it to Apple in the US for service.
