  • How many ways we can create authorization for user groups in sap query reports

Hi Gurus, I am getting a problem when I am assigning users to user group in sap query report .The users other than created in user groups are also able to add &change  the users .So please suggest me how to restrict users outside of the user group.
Please send me if u have any suggestions and useful threads.
    Thank You,
    Suneel Kumar.

I don't think it can be done. According to the link below 'Users who have authorization for the authorization object S_QUERY with both the values Change and Maintain, can access all queries of all user groups without being explicitly entered in each user group.'
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/d2/cb3f89455611d189710000e8322d00/content.htm
Although I think you can add code to your infoset and maybe restrict according to authority group, i.e.:
Use AUTHORITY-CHECK to restrict access to the database based on user.
Press F1 on AUTHORITY-CHECK to find out how to use it in the code

  • User-Groups Change history

    Hi,
Does SAP system maintains the user-groups change history in any tables. Like it does for users in USH* tables.
Is Group Creation date, etc is recorded in any table ?
If user-group description is changed, is it recorded in any tables ?
Any pointers would be a great help !!!
    Thanks & Regards,
    Chandrasekhar.

You could check the USGRP* tables to see if any relevant information is present. Hope this helps.

  • Creating user groups using SQ03.

I am going to make a change to a already existing query 01 in the user group /SAPQUERY/AM. I am not a query expert, in fact this is the second query that I am modifing. I am reading some documentation that the first thing that I have to do is create a user group. from what I am reading, the user group will contain the users that are allowing to modify queries. Since our users do not use this tool, I am the only one that creates and modifies queries. I think I am going to create a user group and that my user-id will be the only one in the group - correct? will I create one user group and and queries that I make changes to in the future user this user group or do I create user groups based on the users group that are defined by SAP. example - If I am changing a query in /SAPQUER/AM  and in /SAPQUERY/AU - would I create 2 user groups  1 for AM and 1 for AU or would I create only 1 user group and use it for both queries.
After this, I think I have to copy the infoset (SQ02)and the query (SQ01) to custom names (names starting with Z) and then attaching the parts to the new user group.

    Hi Timothy
Typically you want to create user groups for functional areas or grouped reports/queries. You can enter as many users as needed into a user group and only those who have the checkbox next to their name in the user group screen will have authorization to create/modify queries in the infosets where the usergroup is assigned. If you are creating 2 usergroups with the same users and authorizations then that is redundant but if the list of users is different or the authorizations may change then it would make sense to have 2 usergroups. You should have some naming convention to follow when creating the queries but the Z prefix is not required.

  • User Exit that will allow the SAP program to create DN, but not create IDO

    Hi all,
The requirement is when we select 1 PO in VL10g transaction and click the u201CBackgroundu201D button, the user exit will allow the SAP program to create Delivery Number, but not create IDOC for the Delivery Number to send it to warehouse system.  Also the created Delivery Number must be in changeable mode in ECC system .I need to find any exit to make the DN table field LIKP-VLSTK not to be u201CBu201D (distributed).  The B will make DN not changeable in ECC system which is hard coded value in standard program. so the DN should be changeable.
Please suggest me the User Exit name which serves my purpose.
    Thanks in advance
    Latha.

    Welcome to SCN!
Here is some code that will allow you to find exits and BADIS on your own:

  • How to map Portal User groups to a MDM System?

    Hi,
Have anyone tried mapping portal user group to a MDM System?
The idea is to avoid each user to do user mapping for MDM of their own.
When i look into the usermapping section of a portal user group, it shows me a message -
"There are no systems available for user mapping for the selected principal"
    Thanks and best regards,
    Arun prabhu S

    Hi All,
    Got it!
    1. Create portal users,
    2. Create a portal user group,
    3. Assign Users to User group,
    4. Go to System Administration, edit permission of the MDM system, add the user group to the MDM system permission list and save
    5. Go to User Management, modify the user grooup, go to the User mapping of the user group and do mapping for MDM system and user group using a valid MDM User name and password and Save
    6. In User Management, modify the Portal role for MDM , add the user group to the role and save
    7. Edit permission of the role object, add the user group to the permission list and save
    Result:
All the users assigned to the user group will be able to access MDM information on the portal correspond to the MDM mapping done at the user group level. This avoids self user mapping in personalization link.
    Best regards,
    Arun prabhu S

  • Authenticated Users Group Question

I have a quick question regarding the Authenticated Users "group". I used to be a systems administrator, but I'm a bit rusty since I've been a software developer for the last 10 years. A conflict with data center operations (DCO) group
at work lead me to get another opinion.
The question is this... is the authenticated users group a domain-level group or is there a local authenticated users group that would allow only users authenticated locally? We have a share that permits the authenticated users group access.
My opinion is that all domain users who have authenticated successfully have access to this share. The DCO group is telling me that this is the local (to the server containing the share of course) authenticated users group only.
Is there such a thing as a local-only authenticated users group? To me this doesn't even make sense, but I could very well be wrong.

I apologize. I don't think I explained myself correctly. Let's consider the following...
    SERVER: SERVER1
    DOMAIN: DOMAIN1
    SHARE: \\SERVER1\SHARE1
SHARE PERMISSIONS: Authenticated Users - Full Control
Given the above information, is it possible that the Authenticated Users group will allow ONLY users that are defined on SERVER1 to access \\SERVER1\SHARE1?
My understanding is that's not possible. There's one defined Authenticated Users group and that represents ALL users that are authenticated against DOMAIN1, whether added to local groups, shares, etc.
What I'm being told however is that SHARE1 having Authenticated Users assigned is okay since only those user accounts defined on SERVER1 will be able to access it. All the users in the domain will NOT be able to access it. I think this is bogus. Am I wrong?

  • GRC AC v10: User Request Field (User Group for Authorisation Check)

    Good Day,
I am wondering if anyone has had any success in pulling across the User Group in the User Access Request Form. In EUP Default View settings, this is set as visible and editable. Yet, I am not seeing the field in the AR form. I would expect to see this field in the User Details tab. That being said, I am also curious about the User System Details tab. I would think the  User Group will come across in one of these two tabs. Appreciate any insight... ~Triera

    Hi,
The user group of the selected user would be populated in 'User System Details' tab . This field is not there is user details tab as each system can have different user group and we can have multiple systems in the request .
Please check if the user selected in the request has a usergroup assigned in the detail datasource system.
    Best Regards,
    Aman

The local NYC Apple Store's Logic guru will be in attendance as well.

I can't say enough good things about Redmatica, and Andrea in particular.
I've found and reported a handful of issues I found in Keymap, and in each case I had the issue confirmed, and a new build sent to me at most within a couple of days, often much sooner, with the issue fixed. If only Apple were more like that...
Keymap is a stunning piece of software that, in conjunction with Logic (or other soft samplers) make creating sampled instrument content (almost) a pleasure.
Have a good one - do you video these sessions for people who can't attend..?
