Register SAP systems to SLD
Hello ,
I would like to register the SAP R/3 (4.6C) clients to the XI 3.0 as business systems.
What is the best procedure to do this ?
Thanks ,
Yaki
Hi,
They need to be registered as technical & business systems in the SLD and also in SM59 as RFC destinations on the XI server itself.
Have you not been on the course ?
Happy Xmas.
Colin.

Hello Experts,
I'd like to know if there is some way I could register a MOSS system (defined as far as I know as a 3rd party system) as a technical system into the SLD?
As for now, any ABAP or J2EE system is registered automatically to the SLD during installation. What is the case regarding a MOSS system? can it be defined as a Data_Supplier to a SLD_Client?
Thanks,
TomerHello Tomer,
Its possible.

Install saposcol and sldreg on windows machine. Use saposcol to generate Hardware Information XML and then use sldreg to send this information to SLD.

Unable to add SAP system to SLD
Hi all,
I am trying to add a new SAP WEB AS 640 system to my SLD.
But the SLD only shows latest available Product version as 620.
I downloaded the latest cimsap,CR_Content,CR_Delta zip files from the marketplace.
On applying note 669669, import of cimsap.zip file is successful, but import of latest CR_Content file gives following error: <b>"The content version 2.0 of the full import does not fit to the current content of the target namespace."</b>
I am unable to add the SAP system. What should I do?

Registering ABAP system with SLD Web AS JAVA
Hello,
I'm trying to register an ABAP only system with an SLD that resides on a JAVA-only system. When registering the ABAP system in RZ70, I enter the gateway host of the JAVA-only system and the gateway service as "sapgw<instance>". However, when looking at the java-only system, I don't see that the gateway is even running.
The JAVA only system is running on Windows 2008.
A couple questions:
1) Is "sapgw<instance>" the gateway service on a java-only system?
2) If the gateway is running, does it show in the services or in the SAP MMC?
3) I've tried starting the gateway manually using "gwrd -force pf=<start profile>" and the dev_rd log says"***LOG S00=> GwInitReader, gateway started ( 2980) [gwxxrd.c 1757]
ERROR => [CreateOsShm] CreateFileMapping(5,4 KB) failed with Err=5
EIO*: Input/output error OR: Access is denied. [shmnt.c 2174]
ERROR => ShmCreate: Create (5,4096,1) failed [shmnt.c 506]
Is this the right way to start the gateway?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dale DingmannHi Dale,
could you please tell us which Release your AS Java is? I have an AS Java 7.01(UsageType EP) on an AIX machine with a local SLD to which an AS ABAP 7.01 should register. I am not sure whether I can use the solution mentioned above or whether I have to install a standalone gateway.
System Landscape Directory Planning Guide (March 2010, page 43) quotes quite a similar solution but without Information concerning the release. This information also belongs to a standalone SLD. The last three scentences of SAP Note 1057720 quotes that for releases up to and including Release 7.0 one has to install a standalone gateway. In higher releases however "the SCS of the AS Java installs an RFC gateway and configures it as the default in the SLD". Is AS Java 7.01 a higher release than 7.00 and how can I check wheter there is an installed Gateway on SCS instance or not?
Can someone clarify that point?

Receiving IDocs from non-SAP system ...
Hello guys,
I have problem with implementing IDoc-XI-IDoc scenario. The sender system is a subsystem (non-SAP system) sending IDocs but XI is not able to receive them. I thing the IDoc metadata can not be found.
Logical system name of the sender is IF6020DEV. I registered the system in SLD. In Integration Directory I imported the Bussines System IF6020DEV to my scenario and I created communication channel of type Sender IDoc Adapter in it.
In IDX2 I created new port called IF6020DEV and I copied needed metadata into the port. But it doesn't work. Probably I don't do it right because I'm beginner with SAP XI.
Could you give me any advice how to configure XI for receiving IDocs from non-SAP system?
Thank you in advance!
Regards
ZbynekThank you very much. The issue described in refered discussion is almost same issue what I'm solving. Unfortunetally the described solution dosn't work for me.
The sender system still returns following error. I know you probably won't understand it because you don't know the subsystem, but maybe you could get some idea what is wrong.

Register system to SLD with fully qualified name
Anybody know how to register the host name for an abap system to the SLD so it uses the fully qualified DNS name? According to the help files in the SLD, it say's: "By default, host names in SLD are written lower case without any network domain"
Our SAP servers are in:
ex.) abc.domain.com
Our desktops are in:
ex.) def.domain.com
So, when developers try to register their local NWDS to the SLD, they cannot reach it. The only solution is for them to add the SAP Server domain (dx.domain.com) into their local tcp/ip settings on their desktop.
Does anybody else have this same issue? Any suggestions on how we can use a FQ DNS name for SLD registration?
-DaveSorry for the confusion. I think I may have mis-worded my own question. It was a Friday!
Want I meant to say was, our developers' local JCo connections fail when they try to make a connection to an SAP system listed in the SLD. This is because the two machines (pc and SAP server) reside in different domains.
SAP Servers are in abc.domain.com
Desktop computers are in def.domain.com
The only way for the JCo connection to work from their desktop, is if the developer adds "abc.domain.com" into the tcp/ip settings on their desktop.
If we could register the SAP system in the SLD as a Fully Qualified Name, I think the problem would disappear. -
SAP System autoregistration in SLD?
Hi,
does anyone know how SAP systems (Web AS ABAP) can register itself in the XI SLD??
I haven't found any resources about this topic. The SLD help only states that those systems register itself automatically, but not how they do this.

Hi Guru's,
Another question!
I have a j2ee-system that I would like to register in my central SLD.
I go to the server, open the visual admin and go to Server - Services - SLD Data Supplier.
The target system I want to connect to has to be reached using saprouter.
So in the field host I enter the saprouter string /H/saprouter/S/3299/H/hostname
But when testing I get an error:
Operation failed! Failed to collect SLD data.
Unable to open HTTP connection. Check if
the target SLD on the specified J2EE engine
is available.
I assume I have to perform some additional action to get this running.
Does anybody have an idea?
(os=windows)
On the ABAP stack (rz70) the saprouterstring did not cause any troubles.
Regards,
DavidThough your solution manager is connected to different customers, you need to directly give the central SLD hostname.
From Visual admin
Navigate to the SLD Data Supplier settings for an HTTP connection.
a. Choose Cluster -> Server ->Services -> SLD Data Supplier.
b. On the Runtime tab page, select HTTP Settings.
Specify the connection and logon data for the SLD server of your system landscape and save your entries.
For security reasons, do not use any user accounts that own more permissions than DataSupplierLD for the Java data supplier. Use the J2EE role DataSupplierLD to set up a dedicated user. eg. give SLDDSUSER
Immediately after saving the settings, you can trigger a data transfer to your SLD server for test purposes by choosing the button .

Registering a new technical system in SLD - ABAP based
Hi friends,
For ,Registering a new technical system in SLD - ABAP based
I followed the following steps...
At first
- went to the SDL - http://server:port/sld
- went to the "Administaton" tab
- went to the "Data Supplier Bridge"
In RFC Gateway
Server :
Service :
What I to give Here...
is it the R/3 System Server and Service
Please suggest regarding it...
With Regards,
SunilHi Michal,
Thanks for the Blog. It was really enlightening to find out how the Technical systems are registered. But my problem is not solved yet.:(
I have newly installed a CRM 2007 system, and tried to see the Technical systems AS ABAP and AS JAVA which should be automatically created. But no AS ABAP system was created. So i tried doing it using your Blog.
In the Admin tab of SLD, i did not find any "Data Suppliers Bridge", but there was a "Data Suppliers" tab. On clicking it, i verified that sld/active was TRUE, and then updated the data in RZ70 and clicked on Activate button. The activation was successfully done, but no new AS ABAP Technical system appeared.
Is there any more configs left to be done? Please help me out with this issue. Thanks in Advance.

SAP System Landscape Directory (SLD) Privileges
Hello everyone,
I'm not really sure if this is the correct place to start this discussion, but any help and support is really appreciated.
The question is as follows: is it possible to define object privileges in SLD such as Products, Software Component Versions, Technical Systems and Business System for example, to define which user can modify a Technical System? I assume there's is a way by role and groups on the UME to define privileges to display or modify objects in whole SLD, but I don't know if on a lower level this is possible.
thanks in advance for help and support.
Regards,
Julio CesarHello Julio,
I am not sure if you can define certain UME actions for objects within the SLD. These objects are usually maintained by a SLD administrator. There is however a way to create a new UME role and assign new SLD action to it.
In your Web browser, enter the URL of the Identity Management using the following format:http://<host>:<port>/useradmin .
Create user groups and UME roles of your choice and assign each UME role to the appropriate user group(s) as well as to the UME action(s). You can use the predefined UME roles as a template so create your own UME roles (as descibed in the table above).
If you want to create a UME role for SLD content synchronization or for SLD administration, you need to assign the Destination_Service_Write_Permission UME action, which belongs to thetc~sec~destinations~service service, to your own UME role.
For more information about which UME actions there are available I suggest to use the following site:
Configuring SLD Security Roles - Security Guide for the SAP System Landscape Directory - SAP Library
