Register System for UWL

Hi,
I am not able to register a system for UWL. We have created a system named as "QAS". I am getting error as "System not registered". We are using EP 6 SP 19.
Can anybody help me in this case?
Regards,
Vaibhav

Hi,
Can you list down the steps you have performed ?
Have you created a system and given an alias in the System Administration -> System Configuration -> System Landscape ? Is QAS the system alias of System Name ?
Once done with the system creation, do check the systen connection...is that working fine ?
When do you get this error, system not registered ? Are you getting it when you are trying to click on button <b>Register Item Types</b> ? Does it show any other error message ? Can you check in the log file ?
Regards,
Sunil

    dharmaji,
check if you have an entry for sapgw03 in your /etc/services file, if you had add it recently, restart your portal.
to check, wether the port is reachable from your portal server you can use in a command box on your portal server:
    telnet <ip-address of backend> 3203

  • Error While Registering a system in UWL

    Hi
I have configured a system in UWL after going to Universal Worklist Administration -> Configuration Framework Page -> UWL Systems Configuration.
Now when i am registering it, it shows the following
    error:
    System SAP_YY_XXXX: com/sap/portal/services/api/connectorgateway/IConnectorGatewayService
Though the corresponding entry for the gateway information has been made in the services file in the drivers/etc:

But still the same error is coming.
Is there any other step which is being missed out.
Any information in this regard will be helpful.
    Thanks & regards,

    Dear Koti,
It is giving the same error in the backend also.when i click the workitem it is giving the "error while executing the workflow Close Window".
Is there a problem with the workflow template or the UWL Configuration.

Item type retrieval and registration requires a connection to the systems and may take a couple of minutes
For each system, they are generated as the configuration named 'uwl.webflow.<system_alias>' or 'uwl.alert.<system_alias>'.
After configuration changes in the backend system, you must re-register the system.
    regards.
    Srinivas.

    Hi,
you can check few things prior proceeding:
Does your connector test after adding your backend system in portal works fine?
Did you define a system alias?
Make sure your SSO is working,
Also check your Jco detination webdynpro tab.

  • To register two systems in UWL

    Hi All,
I want to register two systems in UWL pointing to same ECC 6.0.
    1) I have one system with UIDPW pointing to ECC 6.0
    2) I have another system with SAPLOGONTICKET pointing to the same ECC 6.0 system as the first one is.
Now I am able to register both the systems in UWL. But the system with UIDPW takes the reference of the system with SAPLOGONTICKET after sometime of registration.
Please guide this is a serious problem.
Rewards are given to the answers.
    Bharat Mistry.

Every system is identified using system alias
i think u r giving same system alias for both systems if that is the case change sytem alias and check
The work item registration process involves identifying each system by its alias, and then generating the XML description of how to process the work item types to be received by UWL from each system.

Could you please guide me , how to achieve delegation & substitution concept for GP system in UWL for CE 7.1.
when i am trying to click on the Manage Delegation dropdown link which was there in top right corner of the UWL screen , then i am getting the error as " No system is activated for substitution rule " .
Could you please tell me in our scenario how to activate the System for delegation rule since we are using GP system for GP related tasks in UWL. in all the documents they have mentioned how to achieve the same in R/3 workflow tasks but we are looking for GP tasks how to activate system.
Is there any changes are required in UWL XML files for achieving this substitution & delegation rule for CE 7.1??
In EP 7.0 how this delegation & substitution was enabled in UWL , could you pls tell me what are the changes are required to be done??

  • Unable to set property Refresh Completed Items for UWL system

    Hello Experts,
We are on NetWeaver 7.40 SP2 and UWLJWF version is 1000.7.40.2.0.20130411234700.
We have configured a system object with system alias SAP_ECC_HumanResources pointing to the backend ECC system.
I am creating a UWL WebFlowConnector system with this same system alias in the UWL Administration page to fetch ABAP Workflow workitems from the backend and display those in the portal UWL.
When I try to check the checkbox for the Refresh Completed Items: property and click Save it shows me an error message saying Could not connect to back end SAP_ECC_HumanResources to check if it supports direct custom retrieval feature.
I have already followed the steps for Prerequisites for Enabling Refresh of Completed Items and Activation in Back-end System mentioned in the link Enabling Refresh of Completed Items but still getting the above error.
I have also tried restarting the UWL service as given here (UWL) Error while configuring the Refresh of Completed Items Mechanism
Can anyone give any suggestions what else needs to be checked for this property to work for the UWL system?
    Regards,
    Saurabh

    Hello Experts,
I have managed to resolve this problem. The RFC Destination configured for UWL WebFlowConnector had some problems and it was not able to ping to the backend system. I got this RFC Destination re-configured and then restarted the UWL service and following this I am now able to set the Refresh Completed Items property for the UWL WebFlowConnector system.
However now when I am trying to set a value of 30 seconds in the Delta Pull Channel Refresh Period (in Seconds): property and saving the change, I am getting a warning message The backend of system SAP_ECC_HumanResources is not configured for optimized delta pull.
How do I go about setting this value for the delta pull refresh?

  • Email notifications for UWL items from the GP System

    Hi,
How can I activate the notifications for tasks created in UWL, but by connector type?
I know that the notifications can be activated in System Administration » System Configuration » UWL » Workflow » Engine | Mail, the problem is this will be applied to all notifications from all connectors, and I only want to apply to connector of Guided Procedures, and not to tasks to connector of ECC system.
    Thanks,
    John

I'm not aware of any setting to prevent the Apple's receipt to be sent.
If you bought a mix of purchase item and free item, the will appears on the same receipt. Instead of considering them as spam, you can consider them as "a way to recall which apps you dowloaded in case something wrong happen".
Personally, I have created a folder called "receipts" and simply send these mails to this folder.

  • Hi i wrote a java program for scanning a system for java.exe 's

    hi ,
i wrote a program which scans the system for java.exe 's and then it captures them in a linked list and then i
iterate through it for "\\Java\\jdk1.5.0_08\\bin\\java.exe and my aim is to return true in case the linked list contains the string "\\Java\\jdk1.5.0_08\\bin\\java.exe" and stop scanning the system.
If the linked list does not contain "Java\\jdk1.5.0_08\\bin\\java.exe" it should return false.
But my problem is the program is continuing to scan the system even if the linked list has "\\Java\\jdk1.5.0_08\\bin\\java.exe"

  • ABAP systems for CE

    Hi,
To configure access to a backend system for use in VC, Web dynpro etc in CE 7.1, is it right to go to Configuration Management -> Security -> Destinations?
And then create an HTTP destination followed by an RFC destination pointing to the ABAP system?
Or do we have to configure the SLD for the ABAP system in question.
Which one is right and more suitable.
Also, In future will SAP continue to release EE only version or will future releases always have the composition tools as well. e.g  I need the full version for GP, VC etc.

    Hi Prem,
The destination service can be used to connect to any http/rfc systems.
Even the SLD system itself is to be registered through destination service as an http destination.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/e9cfe128063483e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
And according to the documentation from Destination service, not all applications use the Destination service.
Some applications have their own connection maintenance tools.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/07/0d27932264284b883dab13ce1008a6/frameset.htm
So it is upto your application to decide where to maintain the connection.
For example: While creating JCO Connections you need to have your system registered in SLD.
Hope this helps to get some idea.
    Best Regards,
    Praveen Gudapati

  • What is the best 'cleaning system' for the Mac?

What do you recommend as the best 'cleaning system' for the Mac!

    How to maintain a Mac
Make two or more backups of all your files
One backup is not enough to be safe. A copy of a backup doesn't count as another backup; all backups must be made directly from the original data.
Keep at least one backup off site at all times in case of disaster. Backing up to a cloud-data service is one way to accomplish this, but don't rely exclusively on such backups.
In fact, don’t rely exclusively on any single backup method, such as Time Machine.
If you get an indication that a backup has failed, don't ignore it.
Keep your software up to date
In the App Store or Software Update preference pane (depending on the OS version), you can configure automatic notifications of updates to OS X and other Mac App Store products. Some third-party applications from other sources have a similar feature, if you don’t mind letting them phone home. Otherwise you have to check yourself on a regular basis.
Keeping up to date is especially important for complex software that modifies the operating system, such as device drivers. Don't install such modifications unless they're absolutely necessary. Remove them when they are no longer needed. Before installing any Apple update, you must check that all system modifications that you use are compatible. Incompatibility with third-party software is by far the most common cause of difficulties with system updates.
    Don't install crapware
...such as “themes,” "haxies," “add-ons,” “toolbars,” “enhancers," “optimizers,” “accelerators,” "boosters," “extenders,” “cleaners,” "doctors," "tune-ups," “defragmenters,” “firewalls,” "barriers," “guardians,” “defenders,” “protectors,” most “plugins,” commercial "virus scanners,” "disk tools," or "utilities." With very few exceptions, such stuff is useless or worse than useless. Above all, avoid any software that purports to change the look and feel of the user interface.
It's not much of an exaggeration to say that the whole "utility" software industry for the Mac is a fraud on consumers. The most extreme examples are the "CleanMyMac," "TuneUpMyMac," and “MacKeeper” scams, but there are many others.
As a rule, you should avoid software that changes the way other software works. Plugins for Photoshop and similar programs are an obvious exception to this rule. Safari extensions, and perhaps the equivalent for other web browsers, are a partial exception. Most are safe, and they're easy to get rid of if they don't work. Some may cause the browser to crash or otherwise malfunction. Some are malicious. Use with caution, and install only well-known extensions from relatively trustworthy sources, such as the Safari Extensions Gallery.
Only install software that is useful to you, not (as you imagine) to the computer. For example, a word processor is useful for writing. A video editor is useful for making movies. A game is useful for fun. But a "cache cleaner" isn't useful for anything. You didn't buy a computer so you could clean caches.
Never install any third-party software unless you know how to uninstall it. Otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve. Do not rely on "utilities" such as "AppCleaner" and the like that purport to remove software.
Don't install bad, conflicting, or unnecessary fonts
Whenever you install new fonts, use the validation feature of the built-in Font Book application to make sure the fonts aren't defective and don't conflict with each other or with others that you already have. See the built-in help and this support article for instructions.
Deactivate or remove fonts that you don't really need to speed up application launching.
    Avoid malware
"Malware" is malicious software that circulates on the Internet. This kind of attack on OS X was once so rare that it was hardly a concern, but it's now increasingly common and dangerous.
There is some built-in protection against malware, but you can’t rely on it—the attackers are always at least one day ahead of the defense. You can’t rely on third-party "anti-virus" products for protection either. What you can rely on is common-sense awareness—not paranoia, which only makes you more vulnerable.
Never install software from an untrustworthy or unknown source. If in doubt, do some research. Any website that prompts you to install a “codec” or “plugin” that comes from the same site, or an unknown site, is untrustworthy. Software with a corporate brand, such as Adobe Flash Player, must come directly from the developer's website. No intermediary is acceptable, and don’t trust links unless you know how to parse them. Any file that is automatically downloaded from the web, without your having requested it, should go straight into the Trash. A web page that tells you that your computer has a “virus,” or that anything else is wrong with it, is a scam.
In OS X 10.7.5 or later, downloaded applications and Installer packages that have not been digitally signed by a developer registered with Apple are blocked from loading by default. The block can be overridden, but think carefully before you do so.
Because of recurring security issues in Java, it’s best to disable it in your web browsers, if it’s installed. Few websites have Java content nowadays, so you won’t be missing much. This action is mandatory if you’re running any version of OS X older than 10.6.8 with the latest Java update. Note: Java has nothing to do with JavaScript, despite the similar names. Don't install Java unless you're sure you need it. Most people don't.
Don't fill up your disk or SSD
A common mistake is adding more and more large files to your home folder until you start to get warnings that you're out of space, which may be followed in short order by a startup failure. This is more prone to happen on the newer Macs that come with an internal SSD instead of the traditional hard drive. The drive can be very nearly full before you become aware of the problem.
While it's not true that you should or must keep any particular percentage of space free, you should monitor your storage use and make sure you're not in immediate danger of using it up. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of free space on the startup volume for normal operation.
If storage space is running low, use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the most space. Move seldom-used large files to secondary storage.
    Relax, don’t do it
Besides the above, no routine maintenance is necessary or beneficial for the vast majority of users; specifically not “cleaning caches,” “zapping the PRAM,” "resetting the SMC," “rebuilding the directory,” "defragmenting the drive," “running periodic scripts,” “dumping logs,” "deleting temp files," “scanning for viruses,” "purging memory," "checking for bad blocks," "testing the hardware," or “repairing permissions.” Such measures are either completely pointless or are useful only for solving problems, not for prevention.
To use a Mac effectively, you have to free yourself from the Windows mindset that every computer needs regular downtime for maintenance such as "defragging" and "registry cleaning." Those concepts do not apply to the Mac platform.
A well-designed computing device is not something you should have to think about much. It should be an almost transparent medium through which you communicate, work, and play. If you want a machine that needs a lot of attention just to keep going, use a PC, or collect antique cars.
The very height of futility is running an expensive third-party application called “Disk Warrior” when nothing is wrong, or even when something is wrong and you have backups, which you must have. Disk Warrior is a data-salvage tool, not a maintenance tool, and you will never need it if your backups are adequate. Don’t waste money on it or anything like it.

  • Extended Notification for UWL

    Hi,
We have implemented performance management and implemented extended notification using UWL to get outlook email. Every thing is working fine the only problem is - whenever we get an email the FROM person is the person who has configured the system. Ideally the FROM person in the email is the one who has generated the task.
Please let me know what kind of changes we need to make to fix this so that the person who has created the task will be used in the FROM of the emial
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Check from the requestor if it just enough to schedule the SWN_SELSEN report (that is sending the emails) to be executed for example by the WF-BATCH user. This is a really common scenario what I've seen. Give some nice name (such as "SAP Workflow System" for this system user, and your emails will look already better with 5 minutes work.
If you really want the work item creator as the sender, I don't think that it will be straightforward. Maybe you can do something in SWNCONFIG General settings (SENDER_NAME_INT, SENDER_ADDR_INT, etc.), and doing some kind of custom handler? Not sure about this.  Just one thing to pay attention: some of your work items might be technically created by the WF-BATCH user. Then your emails will have this sender in any case.

    Karri

The following work item requires processing in your SAP Workflow inbox in system xxx.
Log on to this system and process the work item.
If you have problems logging on to the system, contact your system administrator.
I don't find from where it's coming - please let me know how to remove these lines so that I can add my text in SE63.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Go to SWNCONFIG -> General settings.
There you have TEXT_GOTO_INBOX - DTSWN_MSG_GOTO_INBOX. (I am not sure if this was the correct one, but you should check all the texts in general settings, if this was not the correct one.)
Now open dialog text SWN_MSG_GOTO_INBOX in SE61 (you see that you need to remove the prefix DT from the name). Here is your text. You can make your own Z-version of a dialog text in SE61, and then use that in SWNCONFIG general settings.

  • Technical system for integration server

    hi all
what are the steps involved in creating a technical system for integration server?what is the role of RZ70 in creating technical system for integration server?
    regards
    bhasker.

    Hi
Technical systems should be registered by calling transaction RZ70 in technical system. Activate the profile & excute the job.
Make sure that you have provided correct SLD Host name & Gateway (Either central or local on XI).
Once you execute this function a default background job will be scheduled which will run after every 12 Hrs.
    Cheers
    Rakesh

  • Two entries for every technical system for XI in SLD

    Hi,
Last weekend we had a patch upgrade in our Production env for SAP PI system.
After that we got the Cache error (Cache notification from Integration Directory failedError when accessing the System Landscape Directory) in RWB -- "Cache Connectivity Test -> IR -> ID -> Adapter Engines".
    And
In SLD->Technical Systems->all (Adapter Engine, Integration Directory, Integration Repository, RWB).
    e.g.:There are two Adapter Engines:
    Adapter Engine on p80.p80xxxxx
    and
    Adapter Engine on p80.p80xxxxx\p80
Our Basis team contacted SAP for help & SAP has suggested as below.
"We compared the SLD->Technical Systems for QA (Q80) and PROD (P80), and found that for the production box (P80), each XI component is registered Twice.
Now as per the note 764176, we have to delete the entries in the SLD -> Technical Systems. And these will be re-created after a restart.
Could you please let us know whether these have been maintained for any special reason or we can go ahead and delete them."
If you have any idea if those two should be maintained or not, please suggest how to proceed.
    Thank you & Best regards,
    Farooq.

    Hi Farooq,
I have faced the same issue and got resolved by 764176.
you can go ahead and implement the note 764176 which will resolve your issue.
