REGISTERING CREDIT / DEBIT CARD FOR ACCESSING

Hi Using iPad,
For accessing iTunes, App store or Apple store, is it mandetory to register my credit / debit card ? If yes, then kindly tell me the procedure. 

You can create an iTune and App Store account without credit card details
1. Sign out of current Apple ID if you are sign-in to one (important)
2. Go to App Store and select a free app
3. Tap INSTALL APP
4. Create New Apple ID
5. Confirm Your Country
6. Agree with Terms and Conditions
7. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (you must create a new Apple ID; don't use your old Apple ID)
8. Create and answer your secret question
9. Select NONE for Payment Method
10. Fill in Billing Address
11. Submit application for new Apple ID
12. Wait for verification email
13. When email arrive, verify your account
14. Start downloading your free apps

    Depending on how you created your account, "None" may or may not be an option. I believe it has something to do with whether the account was made through an App Store request or the regular iTunes Store. For example, my account allows no card but my father's doesn't allow there to be no card.
    To change the card, go to your account settings and change the information to your new card, and hit save.

    Go to Apple Menu > App Store > View my account > sign in and then edit the payment details with the new card details.  
    I am assuming that your card and supporting bank are in the same country as your residential (billing) address and that you are using the App Store of that country.

    I don't think that debit cards are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined. You could try contacting iTunes support and see if they can help, but I don't think you will be able to use a debit card : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
    Are iTunes gift cards available in your country ? They are not available in all, and they are country-specific (they can only be used in their country of issue), but if there you could possibly use them as your payment method.

    I had to create new apple ID as mentioned there and then the stupid "None" option showed up.  Don't understand why this though!

  • Has Apple Inc consider having three credit/debit cards allowed for checkout?

    I tried to how the process and feel of placing items in the shopping cart and check out. I am glad that Apple allow customers to pay with two credit cards... but I think I will be excellent to add third payment options: a) PayPal account B) Domestic Bank Account or C) Third Credit/debit card. This may seem to much work and possible theft... but I think I would be great to consider in the near future. For example a customer may divide payment between a checking account using the debit card and credit card... as of today individuals and families also use prepaid debit card that are loaded with cash "GreenDot" for ex. This allows for flexible shopping and another option (third option besides two credit/debit cards)... But I feel three payment options for merchandise over 1000.00 (if allowed) is good payments for students or consumers who on some kind of budget.
    Please consider this "third" payment options. To reiterate third payment options could be
    A) PayPal account link (consumers must log in and check out with PayPal online)
    B) Bank/Checking Account
    C) Third credit/debit card available (total of three cards - which I think is fair for products/order(s) over 1,000.00

    You cal to customer services of your bank or credit card and being told as disenroll in Argentina is usually effective.
    Another way is Toshiba customer that you want to cancel the service, it is your right.
    Because you have hired an online backup service with so many free payment? On the other side is always better physical backup, at least I think so.

    If it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method in all countries - from this page :
    You may be able to use other payment types in your country, like debit and Maestro cards.
    which implies that they are not accepted in all countries, and there have been a number of posts about them being declined.
    Is the card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes support and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management.
    Or do you have a credit card that you could use instead ?

    The card must be issued in the same country as the store you are trying to use. If you're trying to sign up for the US Apple Store, it must be a US card with a US billing address. If you're trying to sign up in India, it must be an Indian card with an Indian billing address.
    Apple will run a small charge, which will be credited back, to make sure the card is valid. If it is a debit card and you do not have enough in the account to cover the authorization, it will be declined.
    It is possible the currency conversion you mentioned may be causing a problem. Contact the issuing bank if you are sure you have enough in the account and you are signing up for the correct store.

    You have your Columbia billing address on your account, and your credit card was issued by a Columbian bank ? And the name and address that the card is registered to matches the name and address (including spacing and layout) that you have on your account : iTunes Store: My credit card's security code or zip code does not match my bank's records ? And you've entered all the card's new details e.g. end date and security code, and tried selecting 'none' as your payment method, existing the payment details, and entering the card's details from scratch ?

    Debit card? Are you sure?
    USA iTunes Store does not appear to accept debit cards - http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html  "The iTunes Store, Mac App Store, App Store, and iBookstore services (“Services”) accept these forms of payment: credit cards issued by U.S. banks, payments through your PayPal account, iTunes Cards, iTunes Store Gift Certificates, Content Codes, and Allowance Account balances."
