Registration Information

My home has just been robbed and my dear PowerBook G4 and iPod 60GB have been stolen.
I want to find my registration information and report them stolen so that if and only if someone tries to re-register my stolen computer and iPod, it should flag.
Is there anyway to find it out??
  Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Hi, Kevinmtl. Your original purchase invoice and your original Powerbook box will both have the Powerbook's serial number on them. If you didn't save those and you didn't write the number down anywhere else, too bad. I don't know whether iPod paperwork and packaging shows the serial number or not.
If anyone is stupid enough to try to re-register equipment that has already been registered in your name, they won't be able to. Most thieves are aware of that and won't try (and what they'd hope to gain by registering it is also pretty hard to imagine). Apple's advice for people whose equipment has been stolen is to report it to the local police. Apple maintains no registry of stolen equipment and will not participate in your efforts to recover yours, unless the police contact Apple directly. That isn't part of Apple's business.
Since the chances of your recovering your stuff without having installed "call home" reporting software on the Powerbook are negligible, you'd probably do well to file a police report and then spend your energy on (1) finding out whether your homeowner's or renter's insurance will cover the losses, and (2) changing all your credit card and bank account numbers, passwords and access codes that might be compromised and lead to identity theft, which could cost you dozens of times more than replacing your equipment. And if you do replace the equipment, file the paperwork away where you can find it if you need to.

    Suhas,
After you registered your application as a SSO partner application did you use the information from Oracle SSO (home URL, success URL, Logout URL, app_name etc) and loaded it into the APEX_SSO schema using the regapp.sql script from the ssosdk?

  • Error "Registration information is invalid" when you start Premiere Elements 7 (Windows)

    Issue
When you start Adobe Premiere Elements 7 for the first time, Premiere Elements returns the error message "Registration information is invalid. Please reinstall Adobe Premiere Elements."
    Solution
Do one of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Install Premiere Elements 7 using the Premiere Elements 7 serial number.
If you purchased Premiere Elements bundled with Photoshop Elements, you may have used the Photoshop Elements serial number included in the pack to install Premiere Elements. Uninstall Premiere Elements and reinstall Premiere Elements using the Premiere Elements serial number.
Note: The Premiere Elements serial number starts with the number set 1143. The Photoshop Elements serial number starts with the number set 1057.
Solution 2: Use a Company Name with 40 single-byte characters or fewer, or 20 double-byte characters or fewer.
When installing Premiere Elements, you are asked to provide a user name, a company name, and a serial number. While the company name field is not a required field for installation, if you choose to enter data, do not enter a name that contains more than 40 single-byte characters or more than 20 double-byte characters.
Note: A single-byte character is any character in the standard ASCII character set. English language characters are all single-byte characters. Double-byte character code uses two bytes to represent one character. The double-byte character set was developed for the Japanese, Chinese, and Korean characters sets. Many extended ASCII characters are also double-byte.
Solution 3: Install Premiere Elements to a location that does not contain extended ASCII characters in the file path.
Do not install Premiere Elements to a location that uses extended ASCII characters in the file path. Extended ASCII characters include characters such as , –, ›, †, ‡, ‘, Ÿ.
Note: The default installation path for Adobe Premiere Elements does not contain extended ASCII characters.

Thanks.  I thought of that.  But won't I get whammied for registration again?  I just registered this at adobe last month after rebuilding a crashed system.  In other words, will Adobe know that I've uninstalled it, and therefore have an available license?  Thanks for the welcome.  I've been a Studio premium user for 3 years, and now that my product is no longer supported....I need support!
    Thanks.

  • Homesite keeps asking for registration information

I have been using Homesite 5.5 for several years.  I was using it successfully in Windows 7, 64 bit.  I recently upgraded my desktop to Windows 8, 64 bit, and when I went to use Homesite for the first time since the upgrade, it asked for my registration information, including serial number, as if it hadn't been registered.  After I entered it, it asked for the serial number of the program I had upgraded from, which I also entered.  It then brought up the registration screen again, followed by the previous serial number screen, etc.  After going through this three or four times, I was finally able to get into the program, but after I closed the program and tried to open it again, the same thing happened.  Even though I have Dreamweaver (and the entire CS 5 Design Premium suite), I prefer to use Homesite, and want to find out how to get it functional again.  I assume this is something to do with the registry, but have no idea how to fix it.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey Folks, I think I have found a solution - even if I cannot prove if it can be reproduced on any other machine:
After having the same Problem I tried several workarounds - and suddenly one crazy idea I had worked out:
    Run Homesite under "compatibility mode"***
    Enter registration information
Homesite will run - but most of the menu bars won't appear. Don't mind: compatibility mode was only necessary once to remember the registration information...
Close Homesite and switch back to normal mode
Homesite will start and stop asking for registration info...
This worked well on my Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit System - I hope, it works well with all your Systems too! Homesite is such a perfect simple editor and I'd badly miss it if it would not run on my system...
    *** For compatibility mode:
Open the Homesite program folder in Explorer and look for Homesite.exe
Right click on homesite.exe --> properties
    Select "compatibilty mode"*
    * I am using a German Windows and am not quite sure, if "compatibility mode" is the correct translation into English. If not, look for something similar...
Good luck to all of you Homesite-Lovers!

  • Supplier Registration Information

    Hi Everybody,
I have couple of questions on supplier registration. We are implementing ROS on SRM 5:
    1. Is the supplier registration information searchable? In other words can I write a report to get all suppliers who have registered themselves for certain categories? If the information is not searchable how can I make the information searchable?
    2. Is it possible to use Supplier Registration to gather quality & certification information periodically? Let's say i have 100 suppliers who initially registered in ROS. I send out detailed questionaire that also captures quality and certification information. After a year I want to check with these suppliers if quality and certification information they submitted are still valid?
    3. If bullet#2 is possible, is it possible to extend the functionality in bullet#2 to vendors that have been created in the R3 system (without having these vendors to first register themselves first).
    4. Can bullet#3 be automated (i.e depending on when the supplier registered every year I would like to send out the quality and certifications automatically)?
Any help you can provide will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Venkat

    Ramki -
Thanks for your quick response. Want clarification on your point#1:
    - The information in BUPA (that can be viewed through BP txn) is only generic in nature. Where can we see what categories the vendor signed up for or certifications the vendor says he has that were provided in the surveys?
    Appreicate your help.
    Thanks
    Venkat

  • Why am I having to re-enter my registration information each time I open the application?

    Hi All,
I purchased Apeture with my Macbook three years ago and have just recently decided to utilize it. EVERY time I open the program I'm prompted to enter my registration information. I'm entering the info each time, but would love not to! (I registered the product in an attempt to make the dialog box go away to no avail.) Any ideas?

First of all, are you using an administrator account, when you are entering the serial number? Aperture needs to write the information to the system library, not the user library. Try to log in from an admin account while entering the serial number. If that does not help,  you may have a corrupted "ProAppSystemID" file or Aperture cannot write to the System Library.
First check, if you still have an old file "ProAppSystemID" in your System Library.
    Quit Aperture.
Go to your MacintoshHD and open the folder "Library", then "Application Support", then "ProApps".
Remove the File "ProAppsSystemID" to the Desktop, if it exist and restart Aperture.
Reenter your serial number, hopefully for the last time.
Sometimes Aperture writes this file to a temporary directory, when it cannot write to the Library. If the above does not work, look at the temporary directory /tmp
    Use the Finder's "Go" menu
Go > Got to folder    and  enter /tmp into the textfield. If you see the file there, move it to its proper location.
Check the permission on the folder "Library", then "Application Support", then "ProApps". You (as admin) need to have read/write access to all flders along the path.

  • Registration information is invalid

My problem is the same as one previously posted but I'm not looking for a clean uninstall but a way forward to using software I already have i.e. Premiere Elements 1.0 and 2.0 - help please.
To save me re-typing I have copied below the same thread previously started
After motherboard upgrade, I can't start Premiere Elements 1.0. Gives error message "Registration information is invalid. Please reinstall Premiere Elements." Reinstallation goes fine but after computer restart, program returns same error message. When attempting to uninstall the program, the uninstallation stops at 3/4 way - gives error message "Error 14.02.Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Premiere Elements\1.0\Preset. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel." I am the only user and have full administrator rights. I would like to manually uninstall the pogram but need a list of all the keys in the registry and elsewhere.

<[email protected]> wrote in message<br />news:[email protected]<br /><br />> Thanks, but from other threads I've read with related<br />> problems I think I'll just give up on Premiere - not<br />> worth the hastle and cost<br /><br />Just be aware you're  judging a product by grotesquely outdated versions. <br />That all said, I'm still using APE 2.0 on one of my newer computers with no <br />problems.

  • Re-installing for a User whose Registration Information is Unknown

I've just sold my ibook G4 on ebay. I want to erase and install for the new user, whose personal information and desired "short name" is unknown to me.
How do I erase and install and bypass the set-up assistant (which includes a mandatory registration information) that appears before the installation process?
Thanks for any light shed on this question!

    Joelius:
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Here are a couple of procedures posted by Kappy that should accomplish what you want done:
This is the simple method and doesn't involve erasing the hard drive.
Boot from your OS X Installer. After the installer loads select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (or Utilities menu if using Tiger.) After DU loads select your OS X volume from the list on the left, click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now shutdown the computer for a couple of minutes and then restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (3.0.3 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.1.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Next, boot to single user mode. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-S keys until the computer starts up to a black screen with white type.
    3. At the prompt, type the following commands, each command followed by the Return key:
    /sbin/fsck -yf
    mount -uw /
    rm /private/var/db/.AppleSetupDone
    shutdown -r now
The second-to-last command above will cause OS X to think that the operating system is newly installed, and when you reboot, it will send you through the Startup Wizard.
    This is the long method:
Follow these instructions step by step to prepare a Mac for sale:
    First, back up the data:
    1) Shut down all Virtual PCs. They cannot be in their "fast saved" state. They must be shut down from inside Windows.
    2) Clone to an external drive using Carbon Copy Cloner.
Next, prepare the machine for the new buyer:
    3) Deauthorize the computer in iTunes! Deauthorize both iTunes and Audible accounts.
    4) Remove Open Firmware passwords
    5) Turn the brightness full up and volume nearly so.
    Install a fresh OS:
    6) Insert the OS X install CD/DVD.
    7) Restart the computer while holding down the C key to boot from the CD/DVD.
    8) Run Disk Utility from the file menu and erase the internal hard drive (optionally zero all data).
    9) Install OS X.
    10) Reboot the computer.
    11) From the welcome screen, you can skip the registration step by typing command-Q.
    12) When prompted, create an account (it will be an admin account).
    13) From your new admin account, configure networking.
    14) Then use Software Update to bring your system and all of it's applications up to date.
    15) From Disk Utility, repair permissions on the new volume.
Now delete the account you just created:
    16) Boot from a different volume (e.g. a firewire drive, if available)
    17) Clean up the image using the following terminal commands:
    prompt> rm /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/db/BootCache.playlist
    prompt> rm /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/db/volinfo.database
    prompt> rm -r /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/vm/swap*
    18) Now you can get rid of the admin account you used to set up the machine Use the terminal:
    prompt> nicl -raw /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/db/netinfo/local.nidb -delete /users/<admin>
    prompt> rm -r /Volumes/<imagevol>/Users/<admin>
    prompt> rm /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/db/.AppleSetupDone
    19) Shut down and ship it to your buyer. When they get it, it will boot to the Welcome screen just like a factory Mac, except that it's better because it's completely up to date.
    With acknowledgements to Kappy
    Good luck.

  • How can I change my registration information in Lion?

I recently received a laptop for work and when I was setting it up, I used the name of the co-worker who looks after ordering computers to register. Now some of my applications (iChat) are automatically putting his name and information as a default and I cannot change it. I don't want to send iChat messages as a different person. My iChat handle is correct, but when I switch to Name, it is different than my own. How can I change the registration information for this computer without wiping the whole machine?

I think that I was not clear. I am not having a problem with any of my user accounts, this has to do with the initial setup of my Mac. The registration information is automatically populating form and apps with the wrong data. I have searched pretty exstensively and have not found a solution. I have resorted to an Erase and Install. That should do the trick.

  • SSIS 2008 generates Registration information for this application needs to be updated - VSTA.exe

I am getting the following error in SQL Server 2008 R2 (build 10.50.1734) x86 platform BI Development Studio (BIDS) 9.0.30729.4462 with .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 in a Integration Services project.
I have a package with a Data Flow task that contains a Script Component. I edit it and attempt to edit script and I get the following error:
Registration information for this application needs to be updated. To update, log on as an administrator and run this command:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\VSTA.exe /HostID SSIS_ScriptComponent /setup
About a minute later, another box displays with the following message
Cannot show Visual Studio Tools for Applications editor.
    Additional information:
The VSTA designer failed to load. “System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMExeption (0x80004005) Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component at VSTADTAProvider.Interop.VSTADTEProiderClass.GetDTE(String bysHostID, Uint32 dwTimeout).
I execute the command above running as an administrator (there are no output results). BIDS displays the same symptoms.
This happens on a Windows 7 Enterprise (I said Professional in an earlier but un-related post) workstation x86 platform. I get the error even if I create a new script component in a new data flow task in a new package. I also have VS 2010 Premium
Edition (build 10.0.30319.1 RTMRel) installed on this workstation (if that matters). I also uninstalled and re-installed SQL Server from my workstation. My colleague does
not experience this error, who should have a similarily configured PC. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
    Greg

Old thread, but I was having the exact same problem and fixed it, so maybe this will help someone else in the future.
My problem is that I was confusing the concept of running as an administrator in Windows 7.  I was logged into my machine as an administrator, but I was not actually running the "VSTA /HostID SSIS_ScriptComponent /setup" command as an administrator.
When you don't run as an administrator, the command does nothing - no message, nothing.
I ran the Command Prompt as an Administrator while logged in as a user with Administrator privileges (right click on Command Prompt, select "Run As Administrator").  Then, from that command prompt, I ran "VSTA /HostID SSIS_ScriptComponent /setup", VSTA
did its magic, and then everything worked.
After all these years, that explicit "Run As Administrator" concept still trips me up sometimes.
