  • ?my apple account used an email from a previous job that i can't access now

My apple account was my ex work email I no longer have access to I thought i had changed it but when I try and update apps my user name still comes up with the old one and won;t let me chane it help please ?

As Linc has said, those purchases are tied to your 'work' Apple ID.
If you could proivde more information, maybe we can help.
So you don't have access to the email address associated with the Apple ID, but do you have your AppleID  assword?  Are you unable to update the purchases in the App Store?  Did you forget the AppleID password at some point, and now you can not recover it?  If so, have you tried using the security questions to recover your account?
Is this account tied to purchasing/billing for your former employeer, or is it a personal account that you happened to use your work email for?
If you can access your account, have you tried the steps in this article?

Apple ID is a little more flexible now in terms of renaming and using alternate email addresses, that is, if you can access the account.

Hi, Meganita, and welcome to the Community,
Please contact Skype Customer Service directly for assistance.  Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
Here are a few extra notes to guide you along the way ...
You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). Click Next.  You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started. When you complete the web-form and click Send,  your information is relayed to Skype and you will receive a reply via e-mail unless you are transferred to start an instant message chat session with a Customer Service agent.
If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service, try again using a different web browser. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also impede reaching an agent.
    Regards,
    Elaine

  • When I try to create a new sync account using my email address, the response says it's alreay in use. I imagine this is a relic of my old foxmarks account. Is there a way to release that email account from the old version, or to reover the password?

I've gotten an iPhone, and downloaded the Firefox browser to it, and I'd like to sync the browsers between my iMac and iPhone. When I enter my email to create a new sync account, I'm told that it's already in use, but there's no option to retrieve my password.
Any idea how to get around this?

Try the options at https://services.mozilla.com/ and see if you can't recover the password.

  • Someone keeps trying or has been using my email address to sign up for all kinds of accounts.  What can I do?

I have had this email address since apple offered family accounts for me.com.  For the past 4 years, someone has been using my email to sign up for accounts.  They have repeatedly tried to reset my password.  I keep getting emails from companies.  I have been very nice and responded back to personal emails telling them that they must have typed in the wrong address.  I have emailed different companies asking them to delete any and all accounts using my email address for me.com or icloud.com.  This person has even been using my email to use to turn in her homework on turnitin.com.  I have asked them to please alert the school to let the person know that this is not their address and please not to use it.  I have recently discovered that they are trying daily to reset my password.  Is there anything I can do besides changing my email?

OMG, there is someone else who is experiencing this? I swear, I have used up all patience and trying to be kind when dealing with this.
I created my primary email account [email protected] a very long time ago. Of course, it morphed into [email protected] and most recently into [email protected]. This behavior occurs with all three variations, but most often with the "@me.com" address. In trying to understand the timeline, I figured it started occurring about the time of the iOS release 5.
I get approximately 10 account creation emails a week. Mine range from harmless to education to medical to ****. At one time I was getting as many as a hundred a week! I also send very politely worded emails to the companies explaining that someone tried to sign up with one of the variations of my emails and ask them to delete any or all accounts associated with them. Unless of course, they are ones that I want to keep.
The problem with telling companies to delete the accounts is that it is now sitting out there for someone to setup the account AGAIN. I have started simply requesting a new password or password reset, change the public facing data and leave it be. This will only work with accounts that require email validation, though. I have stumbled upon accounts while trying to create my own! Again, I simply change the public facing info and password and email. It then becomes mine. I've had a couple of accounts - a Disney site - that won't reset the password or delete the accounts because I can only validate the email address and none of the other account info! Sigh.
I have worked with Apple many times, sometimes for many hours trying to resolve this issue. Apple tends to be myopic and generally sticks with "someone just mistyped the email"... but it happens much too frequently for this to be true. I know it is a popular and coveted email address and perhaps people think they can force the company to recognize it as their own. I've also had requests for the Apple accounts to be reset.
Recently had an interesting chat on Apple's Messages with an 8 year old who swears that it is her friend's iChat account. She admonished me to be nicer if I was sharing it with her friend. I couldn't make her understand that her friend was incorrect in believing it was hers.
I see that you've written your message way back in February and I see no other follow ups. Have you been successful in making this stop?

  • Another person used my email to create a account.

I haven't used my Skype account for a while, then, today when i try to use it, my email, that i use for years, is being used by another person.
I retrieved the password, but i can't change the username.
How can i retrieve my username and associate it with my email again?

just like the title you entered say, somebody created an account using your email address, which means that the account you requested a password reset for is not your account.  when there is more than one account associated with a certain email address, there will be a dropdown menu in the reset password page where you can select the account you want to request a password reset token for.  So you may need to request for a new password token, and be sure to select your account's username.
on the other hand, you can report that unrecognized account to [email protected]

  • I've registered facetime in my iphone using my uk telephone number. Now I move to another country and want to use facetime using my email account since my home country's telephone networks do not support facetime application, I think.

How can I register a facetime account using my email account in my iphone4? I used to have an account using my uk number but now I moved back to my home country with telephone networks that do not support facetime.

The telephone network doesn't support Face Time regardless of the country.
There are some countries where FaceTime is not allowed because of local laws.
Where are you?  If it's anywhere in the Middle East, you're out of luck.

  • Two accounts under one email.

My son while home on leave from the coast gaurd, set up his ipod using my email account as his log in. I since bought an ipod and set up an account using my email, not knowing he had used my id, and email, so I changed the password. How can we get one or the other off the account, As he is on his ship trying to get into the istore, and does not know why his password does not work. I can't get a message to him to tell him what is going on that we both have the same log in name. So if she changes the password, then it locks me out. So I need to change something here in Texas, Any suggestions

  • Someone is using my email address on Skype. Please...

I used Skype for many years but haven't tie it with any Microsoft account. Few days ago I received a verification email asking me to confirm a Microsoft account that use my email address. I clicked the link to cancel that account, still I received Skype welcoming email on that day and also today.
I guessed I myself should register a Microsoft account using that email address to prevent someone from using it again. I did so. I verified it. I tied this new Microsoft account to my Skype account and try checking once again if there's someone using it. I put my email address on Skype's search box and I found her. The one who tried to use my email address.
Where can I get help? I don't want my friend to search for my email and find her instead. I can prove that the email address certainly belongs to me. Please help!

    Dear Readers,
Please contact Skype Customer Service to report these unauthorized accounts created using your e-mail address and to request the accounts be de-linked from your e-mail account.  Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service

I would also recommend changing the e-mail account's password.

  • Someone keeps signing up to Skype using my email a...

I have a three-letter email address at yahoo.com. I am constantly getting notices from Skype that someone has registered an account using that email. It is not me that is doing it. But for some reason, Skype takes any old address you give it when you sign up for an account. There is apparently no verification. There is no 'we're sending you an email with a link, click it and we'll activate your account.' Nothing. As a result, my yahoo.com email account has about 6 accounts associated with it. There's no way to delete an account. The only thing I can do is tell Skype I have forgotten my password, change the password, then remove my email from the accounts. I have to do this one by one, and apparently Skype only allows three password changes in a 24-hour period.
Is there anyone out there who can help me with this problem? I'm so tired of having to deal with this.
I have a Skype account. I created an email JUST for that, and it is NOT my yahoo.com email address. All I want is some way to tell Skype not to keep letting people use my email address to register for Skype.

UberOverlord, I HAVE done that. Repeatedly and often. And each time, I get back a "Sure, okay, we'll remove that" response, often days after I sent it. And the accounts either come RIGHT back or are never deleted, it's hard to tell. Clearly, someone at Skype doesn't care whether their users are causing spam on innocent bystanders' emails.
When I said 'no way to contact customer support, apparently,' I was referring to the frustration that I encountered as a non-Skype user the last time I tried to get all these accounts removed. No one appears to be listening. They just let the same issue turn up again and again and again.
Here's the last response I received nearly a year ago when I asked them the same EXACT question, and asked them to make sure my yahoo.com account was never registered again:
My request, which shows my frustration:
My email address is '[email protected]' All of the accounts associated with that email are INVALID because they were created without my permission.
Remove them and PLEASE block '[email protected]' from EVER creating another account.
    Their response:
Than you for contacting Skype Customer Service.
We are sorry to hear that you having such difficulties with Skype.
We have found the Skype account linked to your email and we can confirm that the Skype account has now been cancelled in accordance with your request.
Although this action is immediate, it may take up to two weeks for the Skype profile to disappear completely from the peer to peer network, meaning that the details may still appear in the search directory during this time. Unfortunately this is a technical delay which is out of Skype’s control.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this cause you.
    Best regards,
    [Name withheld]
My hope is that they read this or that one of you super-users in the forums will be able to get through to them the sense of frustration that this causes. It is not that hard to simply ask for email account verification. A lot of places do it. Why doesn't Skype?

  • Can you use any email account with iChat?

It appears that iChat allows you to add other other email accounts other than AOL or MobileMe but can you chat using these accounts and can you screen share etc with non MobileMe users?
Message was edited by: Peter O'Toole

    Hi,
The answer is yes but your question is wrong.
The AIM page for Registration now allows you to use any Email ID as a Screen Name.
AIM has long done this for the Apple IDs of [email protected] and the MobileMe type email IDs of [email protected]
They have also done it for other ISPs in the past as well
More recently I have had someone test with me having used a Hotmail ID in the AIM Registration process.
Jabber IDs look like email IDs and in the case of the GoogleTalk option they can be.
As long as the Screen Name works in one of your Buddy lists it will be valid And if they are an iChat user with iChat 4 or above then they will be able to Screen Share.
    NOTES:
Screen Sharing in iChat uses a Random port so any router or modem that routes need to be able to use UPnP or Port Mapping Protocol to open the ports or it will not work.

Hello sir Every time I do the process of registration in Mogah Apple Store and the period and the period of the account is lost I do not know what the problem is there are people who enter into my account and change email We ask God to help you have an account I can not restore it the way I do not know where and I do not speak English Aalit Aalit help me I'm in a state of panic for your reply eagerly awaited
This old Emily Hope you reply and help me [email protected]

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
    That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now.  They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.
    Thanks for listening,
    Melissa
