REGISTRATION OF LIGHTROOM 5

I boughtLightroom 5 and can't register. The back of the box containing the disk has an eight digit number on but the screen for registration only allows for six digits, How do I register?

The serial number is not on the box, it's inside. Usually on the CD/DVD container. Having said that 6 digits seems rather short. Mine are all 20 (5 groups of 4).

  • Problems with registration of Lightroom 5

    Hello,
I have bought Lightroom 5 (Teacher & Student) for download at the Amazon. I was provided with a 20 digit serial number (XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). But for the registration after installation I need a 22 digit number. How can I register my software properly?
    Regards
    Constantin

The number that you received with the student/teacher edition is not the serial number. Check the instructions that you should have received from Adobe. There should be a link provided where you enter that number and provide other information that verifies you are eligible for the academic discount. Upon receiving that information you will be provided with the serial number that you need. The process is very quick. I received my serial number within a couple of minutes. But I purchased a boxed set, and the instructions were in the box.

There seems to be some issue with these redemption codes, you will need to contact Adobe Customer Support.

  • My Lightroom 5 upgrade serial number not showing up on My Products page; chat support useless

I purchased a Lightroom 5 upgrade license on July 25th.  I didn't receive a confirmation email but my serial number was displayed on the order summary page after purchase.  I tried registering the serial number repeatedly through the My Products page but for some reason the serial number wasn't showing up, even though the registration process reported a successful result.  Furthermore, Adobe products bought from the Adobe store should automatically be registered according to Adobe's web site.  Apparently this must have failed.  I need to reinstall Lightroom 5 but the serial number is still not showing up on the My Products page.  I just spent an extremely frustrating hour with Adobe "Live" chat who did nothing but send me in circles and repeat the same canned responses over and over again.
I'm currently on hold with "phone support" but I'm not optimistic as I've been on hold for 28 minutes.  The only other support option was a link to this forum, hence this post.  Hopefully someone from Adobe can retrieve my serial number and contact me.  Failing this my only other option will be to contact VISA and open a claim.

OK, I was able to recover my previous system's image and thankfully it appears you can get the serial number from Help->System Info.  I attempted to register the serial number again via the My Products page and while it indicated that the registration was successful, we'll see.  At least I should be able to install LR5 on my new machine now.
Edit:  I also just discovered that the serial number is listed under My Orders, but not under My Products.  Weird.  In my defence , I never thought to check My Order history because I never received a confirmation email and the order wasn't listed after purchase...even as late as mid-August (when I last checked.)  Very strange but it's all good now.
Edit #2: OK now I just feel silly.  I just received an email from Naveen with an actual support case AND the correct serial number.  So, I stand corrected.  The Live Chat process still felt incredibly long with some seemingly canned/automated responses but, in all fairness, he did get back to me.  Thank goodness I washed both feet today...

  • I have lost my serial number and disk for lightroom 3

I have lost my serial number and disk for lightroom 3 and I need it - I have since upgraded to v5 but have gotten a new laptop and want to install lightroom on there.  I have my order number from 2011 for v3 AD003916979.  How can I get my old serial number?

On you other machine with Lr5 installed or Lr3 installed search for a file on you computer called "Lightroom 3.0 Registration" or "Lightroom 5.0 Registration".  You may have to search for hidden/system files.   These files contain your Serial Numbers in plain text.
Otherwise, if your order number is from Adobe you can log in with your account to see your purchased products or contact Adobe with that order number.

    I'm currently using LR3.6 64 Bit with Windows 7.

I wish to start again with a clean slate, as I'm all screwed up in trying to import photos into LR3. I tried repairing but as I don't have a CD I was stumped, I couldn't do anything.
How do I download a repalcement software, so as I can start again, with no existing data/images/catalogues?
    Thank you

This is a user-to-user forum, and it's a bad idea to post your details the way you have - it probably won't affect you directly (because there's no "dial home" registration in Lightroom, your serial won't have been "compromised"), but it does mean that someone can now get a working version of Lr 3 for free.
As to downloading the software, Google is your friend.

Hi Keith, sorry for my late reply.
Surely I am able to connect to the help function when Icontact the website
of AdobeLR5.The problem is as follows,
When I open LR5 on my computer and work with it and try to open the help
function in the software, I don't get it.
When I bought the CD I was naiv enough to believe that I get an independent
working software. I learned in the meantime, that the seller does not allow
to work with, without being connected to them.
I don't believe that I am paranoid, but I like to buy something and use it
without to inform the supplier that I do it. Otherwise I could have bought
the license fpr LR5 via internet.
    Best regards

  • I have lightroom 5 on my desktop, I have downloaded it on my new laptop, but I do no have the registration code from my update.  My last one is from lightroom4, how do i get the registration code?

I own lightroom 5 on my desktop, I have downloaded it on my new laptop, but I do not have the registration code from my update.  The code is from lightroom4.  How do it get the number so I can register it on my laptop?

If you own Lightroom 5, you received a serial number for it, that is what you want to use.
If you don't have it any more (not a good idea, by the way), you should be able to find it via: Find your serial number quickly

  • Lightroom would not open.  Adobe registration keep coming up, and I'm already registered!

I have installed lightroom in my mac, but everytime I open it, the Adobe registration form comes on.  I have entered the serial number repeatedly, but once I click "Finish," the whole thing disappears, and Lightroom does not open.  Any advice for me?  I'm trying to move from Aperture to Lightroom.

    Hi Keith-
Yes, you get both photoshop and lightroom in creative cloud.
If you don't see "install" by Lightroom in the application manager, please first try signing out and back in: sign in and sign out of the Creative Cloud desktop app

  • How to Disable\Remove Registration option under Help menu in Lightroom 5.3

    Hi,
Could someone kindly guide as to how can we remove\Disable the Lightroom Registration option under help menu for Adobe lightroom 5.3?
I intend to deploy the application for enterprise users and do not wish that the users should be able to see the Serial number or try registering the product on thier own.
I know this can be done for Adobe CS6 and CS5 using the AAMEE tool which again does not work for Lightroom.
Is there any tool from Adobe or any registry key/File to suppress this option.
    Kindly Advice.
    Thanks in Advance!

Currently, there isn't a way to do this. But this has reacently become a common feature request and we are working to get it added.

  • Registration keys for Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5.2

How do I get the registration keys for Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5.2?

There are no registration keys.  Photoshop CC and Lightroom are subsciption based.
You sign up for the subscription and provide a credit card number for billiing. Adobe will send you the download and install instructions.
Simply start Photoshop CC and under Help > Sign in...  Enter your Adobe ID and password. That will change Photoshop from Trial to activated.

  • Lightroom 2.5 activation/Registration

    Hi,
I recently downloaded and installed Lightroom 2.5. At no time was I asked to enter an activation key or had I to select a Trial/Purchase option. This was 3 days ago. How can I determine whether my application is a trial version or an unlimited version ?

Thanks for your advice: I did as you recommended, License on left side
of dialog is green-ticked, so I suppose I'm running  an official
version. The reason for this is probably what Chuck Tribolet guessed
    when answering my query, i.e.
QUOTE /Did you have Lightroom 2.something Earlier installed?  If so, your serial number for that carried over./ UNQUOTE
I actually had Lightroom 1.1 previously installed, and that did the trick.
Thanks to both of you for your assistance.

  • Lightroom registration wasn't known by Adobe until today!

I've been going around and around with an author of a LR3 plugin. I kept getting an error message from his plugin saying my reg number was pirated! And this isn't true. I finally found a place on this site to enter my serial number for LR3 and hopefully this will resolve my problems with him and his program to work for me.  I don't want to mention his name but would appreciate any discreet way to let him know my copy is legit. He is only protecting Adobe from pirates and I can respect that. But at the same time I've been locked out from his plugin. Thanks.

Is this the form that you filled out? Or, did you just enter your serial number? If you entered the serial number then apparently you have the wrong number. Perhaps it was for a previous version. This form appears when you click on "Lightroom Registration" in the Help menu, and it will allow you to register online after you have entered the correct serial number. But entering that serial number is not part of the registration process. Apparently that number is obtained automatically.

  • Lightroom 1.1 won't launch upon registration

    Hi everyone,
My name is Janyne and I was hoping someone here could help me with a problem I am running into with Lightroom 1.1 on a mac G4 osx 10.5.8. I have installed this old version of lightroom because my computer doesn't have intel and i needed the older version in order for it to work on my very old computer.
I installed Lightroom and it won't launch after the registration page. I put in all my information and serial number and it gives me a green check then i click finish and nothing happens. No highlightable options in my menu bar either.
I have tried the newer lightroom versions on trials but i decided to go with this old 1.1 to ensure that my computer was capable of running it well.
Any one have any technical support they could offer me on this ? I have some photos already in a library somewhere in my computer but i wouldn't know where to look to find it or any other lightroom files that could be getting in the way of my program launching.
    This sucks, Please help.
    Thank you,
    Janyne

You need to reinstall iPhoto as it's missing bits of itself.
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.
