Registration Parameters Cannot be Validated Successfully

Hello all,
Ran into what might be a simple problem: Jsut installed Essbase V9 and trying to configure EAS and Essbase Server. I entered the user name and pw for the user account as well as shared services and I get the error "Registration Parameters Cannot be Validated Successfully, Please Verify If the Information is correct". Any ideas why this error ?

1. It should not matter , whether its foreground or background ( but its a different question ,why your services are not able to start at background).
2. As Atul said, ensure your shared services is up and running ( its pre requisite is openLDAP).
3.As you have error while configuring with SS , it point out that your SS was down ,while you were configuring.
Pls do validate , to see what the log in red says
4. Finally, how to run the services?. To answer that, generally they are 'automatic' in nature and they get started withe OS start( IF you have an issue ,better to start it in the foreground , identify the problem, resolve and start in the background)

The account cannot be validated error was due to a glitch on our activation server that has been fixed now.
Please try using acrobat now and check if you are still facing the problem.

Web service operation ... with parameters {} cannot be found

Hi All,
I am accessing a web service of a web site using ColdFusion.Each time I am calling the web service I am getting the message "Web service operation ... with parameters {} cannot be found".The wsdl file showing the parameter as complex type .So I have passed value to the particular method using structure and xml type each time I gets that error message.I can not post here the wsdl for security reason.
When I am calling this Web service from .net it is working without any problem. .NET directly creating the objects of the parameter which the method is needed from the wsdl but I don't know whether it is possible in ColdFusion or not.Also I don't know whether the web service in .net or in other language.
Please suggest something.

Yes, I have passed all the arguments but it seems the web application is coded in .net and by googling I came to know that if the .net receives a complex type of object then it creates problem when we pass argument from coldfusion.(means type mismatch)
If you know about it please suggest .

So the problem is caused by incorrect IMG configuration:
The SX_OBJECT_RECEIVE Returncode: 8 error message is caused by an incorrectly entered path in the RFC IMG connection (SM59) or by not calling MLUNXSND via a script.
The problem is that the mailgw.ini file not being present in /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run/mlunxsnd or the <system_directory>/SYS/profile directory. MLUNXSND will check these two directories for a file call exactly mailgw.ini. If MLUNXSND does not find the file the error above is displayed.
I would recommend that you create a shell script per OSS Note 99965 and set the GWCONFIG parameter to point to maligw.ini.

A team with less than 3 persons is eligible. One, two and three member teams are all eligible. I will remove the requirement to fill out the information for all three participants.

I am a university lecturer and my university has an agreement with Adobe that allows academics to download Adobe suite for teaching purposes but when I enter the serial number I was given I get an error message saying that it cannot be validated. Any reason why this is?

This can be a network issue
Please navigate to
C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
Open a Finder window. Choose Go > Go To Folder.
Type "/etc" (make sure that you're is logged in as an administrator).
Select the hosts file and open it.
Look for any entries that refer to activate.adobe.com and delete them. For example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com and delete it.
Save the file and close it.

Also check the "parallel" User Configuration folder which is
usually here:
C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application
Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver
CS4\en_US\Configuration\TagLibraries\Validator\
Files in this folder override file in the Program Files
Application folder.
Also, be sure to delete both of your Configuration folders
between
uninstall and re-install to make sure that you get a fresh
copy of those
files.

Crystal Reports XI - Registration Wizard - Cannot get a valid key code

I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not and, if not, my apologies. I had this installed on PC before (CR XI Professional Edition) but my PC crashed and I had to do a reinstall on Windows, etc.
Now, when installing CR, I am getting the above error and CR will not start. Help!

Request key codes for new orders via SAP Marketplace (SMP), will receive a download letter on new purchases providing them with their SMP login credentials. Using these credentials you can login and click in the "Keys & Requests" tab > Request a License key.
If your Key code does not work
You need create a customer message [https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/message] using component XX-SER-LIKEY-BOJ.

How do I check for null parameters in Process Validations?

I am trying to create a Unit Test that validates that a record has been inserted into a table. However I am having problems when dealing with null parameters.
I created a simple table and insert procedure:
create table TEST_TAB (
A varchar2 (30) not null,
B varchar2 (30));
create or replace procedure TEST_TAB_INS (P_A in varchar2, P_B in varchar2) is
begin
insert into TEST_TAB values (P_A, P_B);
end;
Then I created a Unit Test with two implementations:
The first executes TEST_TAB_INS ('One', 'Two')
The second executes TEST_TAB_INS ('One', null)
I attached the following Query Returning Rows Process Validation to both implementations:
select *
from TEST_TAB
where A = '{P_A}'
and (B = '{P_B}' or '{P_B}' is null)
This should allow for the case where P_B is null. However the second test fails with a "Query check returned no rows" error.
I've tried altering the test to use nvl, but get the same results:
select *
from TEST_TAB
where A = '{P_A}'
and (B = '{P_B}' or nvl ('{P_B}', 'XXXX') = 'XXXX')
However, the following test succeeds:
select *
from TEST_TAB
where A = '{P_A}'
and (B = '{P_B}' or nvl ('{P_B}', 'XXXX') = '{P_B}')
Which suggests that null parameters are not being treated as nulls in Process Validations

I've found a way to solve this. By changing the test to:
select *
from TEST_TAB
where A = '{P_A}'
and (B = '{P_B}' or '{P_B}' = 'NULL')
I am able to get both to get both implementations to succeed.

Dynamic Cascading Parameters - cannot select/enter parameter value

I am rather new working with Crystal Reports and am having problems with Dynamic Cascading Parameters.
I am using CR 2008 SP2, Version 12.2.0.290. Data is from SQL server.
I have a report to print labels for parts in an order. I want to be able to enter the ShipTo ID then the contract number. From there I would like a list of the parts on the contract and be able to select multiple parts to print labels for.
I right clicked on Parameter Fields and chose New. I named it ShipToContractPartNo, Type String, List of Values=Dynamic.
I added the values as follows:
ShipToID - Editable, Allow Multiple=False, Allow Discrete=True (cannot be changed), Allow Range=False
...ContractNo - Allow Multiple=False, Allow Discrete=True (cannot be changed), Allow Range=False
... ...CustPartNo - Allow Multiple=True Allow Discrete=True (cannot be changed), Allow Range=False
I added the Customer Part parameter to the label.
When I test the label the parameter Enter Values window looks good but the drop down for Enter ShipToID does not have any ShipTo ID's to choose from and I cannot enter a value, therefore I cannot continue. I also do not have a Cancel button and always have to end through Task Manager but that's probably a different, unrelated issue.
I have tried this with and without entering Select Expert records.
Could someone please tell me if I have missed a step or if there is a known issue? I searched this site, I looked in CR Help, I referred to the book I have and I googled but have not found this speciic issue.

OK. I have rejoined/relinked all my tablesas follows (with abbreviated names for ease of reading). The actual SQL is at the end.

When I create a Dynamic Cascading Parameter prompt on just ContractNo (parent - from table Job_Hdr) and ShipTo (child - from table Job_ShipTo) then it gives me list of Contracts to select from and then a list of ShipTo's for that Contract to select from. I place them in the Report Header. I do not add them to the Select Expert. This works great.
Now I need to be able to select the parts necessary from the Contract/ShipTo. When I try to create a Dynamic Cascading Parameter with ContractNo and ShipTo (set up the same as above) and add in ContractPartNumber (from table Job_Bin) to the parameter then my ContractNo and ShipTo parameters no longer work. It gives me only 1 contract number to choose from, which isn't the one I want.
I have tried so many different things and I cannot get the parameters to work when I try to add PartNo into the parameters.
Any suggestions now?

How to pass idoc parameters in a validation script? (10gR3 site studio)

Obviously idoc won't work in the actual validation script, so I'd like to use it to generate the parameters to pass to a custom function.
If I add  as a parameter in design mode, it'll be added as: &lt;!--$siteId--&gt; which doesn't work.
If I manually add  to the parameter code in Source mode, this works just fine. However, once I enter design mode, Designer strips it out and now I have no parameter.
Is there any way to somehow escape the less than/greater than symbols in Design mode?
It's really unfortunate how the contributor windows are static HTML pages that don't retain what site they're on. Maybe this has changed in the 10gR4.

Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I wanted to say that we have had problems with Design mode in general and don't use it anymore. Switching between Source and Design has cause multiple errors in our Site Studio template. We do all of our Designer editing in Source mode. Any actual design work is done in an external editor and the HTML source is then brought over into Site Studio in Source mode.
I was disappointed when 10gR4 came out and Oracle said they did no significant changes (improvements) to Site Studio Designer application.

Cannot save in Succession 360

Dear all,
I am configuring the Roles and Permission List of Succession 360.
However, after I created new permission list and roles and simulating users, although I can open Succession 360, I cannot use the 'Save' button in the Successors tab to update the Succession Plan. Also I cannot use the 'Drag and Drop' features in the Successor Rating Box.
If I use the PS account, I can use the 'Save' and drag/drop in the Rating Box without issue.
Is there any special security setup I have to do? Please kindly help.

What is the application version?
Below given are the permission lists (taken from 9.2) pertaining to the succession 360 pages. Make sure your user has a role with the needed permission.
