Registry cleaner for Palm T/X

My subject is my question. Anyone know of or can recommend a cleaner for the bits and pieces of programs installed/uninstalled on the Palm T/X opsy 5.0?
I just want all those little buggers out of there...

Best program I can recommend is "Uninstall manager", however this will not clean up existing leftovers. It is meant to be installed on a new or newly Hard Reset Palm device.
It does work VERY well when installed on a clean device!
It monitors any new program installed, and deletes anything created by said program.

In ovi store there are some utilities regarding this matter, look up programs and utilities.
Swiss manager maybe can do the trick for you...

I upgraded to version 18, and it no longer works. I uninstalled, ran CCleaner registry cleaner, reinstalled full version and it still does not work., Windows 7

I have been running Firefox 17.x with no issues. Updated to Firefox 18 today, and it will not render a single web page. IE and Chrome work fine. Running on 64Bit Win7 Ultimate. 6 Core/16GB Ram. Latest updates for windows, as of this weeks release. I have done a complete uninstall, run both CCleaner and Norton 360 Registry cleaner to ensure previous traces removed. Reinstalled full version. Still cannot/will not render a web page. No noted activity within the browser window. No error codes to provide.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Adobe Reader for Palm OS won't install

When i try to install Adobe Reader for Palm OS from the disk that came with my new Palm T/X (or from the Adobe website) it acts like it's doing something but never actually installs. Help!!!

The Adobe Reader 305 for PalmOS setup file contains an older version of InstallShield's SETUP.EXE. For several reasons this setup version might hang without showing any GUI:
a. A running background application prevents the setup from continuing.
b. The TEMP-folder contains a lot of files and/or subdirectories.
ad a: Use the Windows Task manager to check how many background programs are running. You can temporarily prevent most startup-programs from running by holding both shift-keys immediately after logging into Windows XP.
ad b: Delete the files and folders from your TEMP folder(s). To locate your personal TEMP folder: Use the windows start menu -> click on: Run.. -> Enter: %TEMP% and press enter. Also check the %WINDIR%\TEMP folder. Some files might be in use during deletion, this can be ignored safely.
Reboot the computer after cleaning the TEMP folder(s), then try again running the setup program.

New hard drive - Ccleaner still preferred registry cleaner?

Turning chicken **** here into chicken salad. I ordered two WD Caviar Black drives to set up in a simple two-disk RAID 0 array and found out after purchase these drives are firmware disabled by WD for RAIDing by some gremlin called WDTLER. We have had a little back-n-forth this week over whether WDTLER is trouble in RAID 0. Scott Chichelli thinks otherwise. Those who are interested can view more in this thread:

Today's question -
I had been using a "green" drive as my OS/programs disk in my CS5 computer. Being stuck with two new drives now, I've decided to migrate the OS and programs to one of the Caviar Black drives and use the green disk as storage.
I have read through Harm's 2009 thread on optimizing 64 bit Vista and have applied as many changes as I could to the current Win 7 OS. I have gotten down to where he recommends Ccleaner as a registry wiper for autorun programs and the like. I'd very much like to get such a program installed and executed before I make my backup image for this computer.
So - is this freeware program still in anyone's good graces? Or has the consensus formed around a new program for such?
Also, one general question about using this type of program. Is it necessary to load a registry cleaner before loading the other programs, so that the sweeper program knew what was in the registry prior to any new installs? I have loaded my OS, optimized my C drive and OS per Harm's article, and now wonder if I should wait before loading anything else or making a backup image until after I run a registry sweeper.
I'm suspecting that these registry cleaner programs need to know what the OS looked like upon a fresh install, so that it can compare any changes made in the registry. Or should I go ahead and load up CS5 and my other programs first?

I still use Ccleaner regularly. It is very good, is regularly updated and is free. As you may know from Adobe Forums: My favorite tools I also use Perfect Disk, which also includes a registry cleaner and often these programs find different issues, like one is looking under the kitchen sink and the other under the sideboard. Both are good, but when installing and as you expressed you want to have a backup of your clean install, well as clean is possible with Windows by itself, you can use Regedit to create a backup of your current registry file, or you can use this tool, which is the best registry cleaner I know, but it is not free: http://www.1clickpcfix.com/
I think it makes no difference for 1ClickPCFix whether you run it before installation or after, because it looks at the consistency of all the entires in your registry and it does a very thorough job. It takes some time, but it easily finds more inconsistencies than CCleaner or Perfect Disk. I highly recomment it.

The driver for MTP devices like the Zen Vision are provided by the OS itself so no driver is being installed from Creative except those MediaSource/Media Explorer software which you can uninstalled from the control panel.

Hi, I'd like to know if there are software for Mac like reg-cleaner for windows, with wich I can delete registry files of an unistalled application. Someone can help me?

Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Most applications create preference files which are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can located them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.
There are also several shareware utilities that can uninstall applications:

Registry cleaner/defrag wipes out license information, how to fix?

I bought the product after the 30day trial and installed the license key when I received it after purchase verification. Every time the registry defrag/cleaner runs, the product warns me the trial time has expired. I enter the license again. Sometimes I feel this happens when the defrag has not run.
I did on line chat with technical service and that was utterly useless. The directed me through a process I've already done at least 38 times.
If the registry cleaner is the problem, I would have thought a product of this caliber would be more robust to that type of operation.

There does not seem to be a need to defrag or even clean the registry in 7. What was once an important maintenance task in 2000 and XP is now not necessary, as the system does take care of itself, it's simply designed better. At the same time the cleaners and defraggers will suggest deleting lots of stuff from the registry.
Unless you are actually able to tell what those registry keys are and why would you want to delete them, I recommend staying away from any such cleaning action. The benefit of the cleaning is doubtful, while the potential for error is rather large.
At the same time thanks for bringing to our notice that the registry cleaner wipes out the licensing information for Acrobat.
Please let me know which 'Registry cleaner' software you are using as I would like to replicate the issue here at my end. Personally I have used ccleaner and have not faced any such issues.

Does my macbook pro need a registry cleaner?

Periodically, I get the annoying suggestion, from the Internet mostly, but friends as well, that I need to run a registry cleaner to keep my macbook pro running at fast speeds. My impression was that is unnecessary with a macbook.
If I should run a registry cleaner, pray tell, which should I use for reliable performance and no danger of their ad phish attaching?

As others have noted there is no registry on a Mac, therefore there is nothing to "clean".
The Internet is a cesspool of junk advertisements from entities seeking to defraud you. Ignore them. Learn to defend yourself against such exploits:
Never install any product that claims to "speed up", "clean up", "optimize", or "accelerate" your Mac. Without exception, they will do the opposite.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources. Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iTunes or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.

Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind.

Will a Registry cleaning fix this probl

Hello, I posted a few times here, but have still been unable to fix my "unhandled exception" error I get when I try to uninstall the Zen Touch Drivers. (Or reinstall for that matter.) If I do a Registry clean up will that fix my problem?

Intel chipsets have been noted by others to have problems, but this problem could be caused by lots of things.
I can't guarantee it will work, but you could try buying a PCI USB2 card and using this instead. Make sure you get one by Adaptec or Belkin, and make sure you get it somewhere where you can return it for a refund if it doesn't work.

computer, these
are machines that are used for email and web browsing, and
have very few
programs installed and more than enough free space. the only
reason i
can see for their slowness is that they're old. but we can't
buy 15 new
computers right now. so.....
rather than buying more RAM for all these computers that
shouldn't need
it, i wanted to try a registry cleaner first. but there are
so many out
there, and it can apparently go either way when it comes to
results
(seems they either do the job or make it a lot worse, from
the reviews
i've read), so i'm just having a really hard time deciding on
one,
especially since they don't offer free trials (no, just
showing me a
list of files it can delete does not constitute a "trial" in
my eyes).
so, i was hoping some people here might have recommendations
for
products they've used. i know i can read buyer reviews, but
i'd like to
get the opinions of people i know i can trust.
i just need a good program that will clean and speed up a
computer,
preferably one that can be installed on more than one
computer.

I have never used one myself, I never trusted them to do it
right. My
only recommendation is to reformat and reinstall. Its amazing
how slow
Windows can get over the years, even without random stuff
being installed.
I recently did it with my Dell laptop, it hadn't been
formatted since I
bought it 5 years ago. It has made such a difference, I wish
I had done
it sooner.

Calendar Sync for Palm won't install Conduit

Hi, I'm trying to install Calendar Sync for Palm 10.1 on Windows 2K. Installation proceeds with no errors, but the conduit does not appear in the Hotsynch conduit list. It does remove the default conduits for Calendar, Date Book and To-Do. I've tried uninstalling Palm Desktop and Calendar synch, and reinstalling them, no luck. HotSynch works fine with the conduits that are left, and works with the default conduits if I don't install the Oracle Calendar Synch. I can't find any mention of this problems on the forum, does anyone have an idea of what could cause it?

The thing is that the conduits are not compatible with other Oracle client installations, which also add themselves to the path. An example is Oracle's Instant Client.
Check your system's path to see if you have any other Oracle client directories before CalSync's directory.
I had a TAR created for this and supposedly they will be 'patching' it for next version...

Calendar Sync for Palm and encryption

We are converting our Calendar Server to always use encryption. We're not finding any way to specify the encryption in the Calendar Sync conduit. Did we miss it somewhere? If not, how do we force the Calendar Sync for Palm to use encryption?

The thing is that the conduits are not compatible with other Oracle client installations, which also add themselves to the path. An example is Oracle's Instant Client.
Check your system's path to see if you have any other Oracle client directories before CalSync's directory.
