Registry Cleaners remove a useful feature in iTunes.

When multiple files are selected and then dragged & dropped to the iPod, the number of files should be indicated within a red dot. I like this effect. Registry cleaners almost invariably remove this feature, so there is only a square with a plus inside. I don't like this result. What registry key needs to be restored to put it back in?
Thanks.

An Apple update fixed the problem.

  • Why did Adobe remove a useful feature?

Will someone please tell me why Adobe would remove such a useful feature as the “File>Attach to Email...” from the Link Properties dialogue box under the “Execute a menu item” - “Add” options list. The idea of an improved version, Acrobat X, is to add utility not make it less useful.

Direct access to menu items isn't the preferred method to execute functions available via the JSAPI, you should simply trigger the JS function on a button or link:
    this.mailDoc(true);
or if you want to set the message params:
    this.mailDoc({
    bUI: false,
    cTo: "recipient @ example.addr",
    cCC: "cc @ example.addr",
    cSubject: "A PDF file",
    cMsg: "here is the PDF."

  • How do I remove un-used apps from iTunes?

My iPad apps are starting to take up a lot of space on my hard drive.  I noticed that my iTunes library contains a lot of apps that I've previously deleted from my iPad and no longer use.  Why are they still showing/sitting on my Windows hard drive?  There doesn't seem to be a way to tell which apps are being used (i.e., on my iPad) vs. those that are not on my iPad any more.  I want to remove the latter from iTunes.  Is possible?
I know you can simply delete an app from the iTunes library by right-clicking and hitting delete.  But I need a way to differentiate those that are NOT on my iPad.  There is no check mark or any other indications that I can see.
I tried searching for this but did not find any definitive answer.
    Thanks.

Unless I misundertand what you mean, no, that doesn't remove anything from your computer. That just hides the app from your Purchased list in the iTunes Store.
If you want to remove the app from your computer, locate the app in your iTunes library listing, right-click on it, and select "delete". Then you can prevent the app from being re-downloaded from the iTunes Store automatically either by hiding the app in the iTunes Store, per your previous suggestion, or turning off automatic downloading in the iTunes/Store preferences.

  • Why does, Apple suggest that I turn off firewall to use features of itunes?

I'm just wondering why i have to turn off the only defense my mac has to use, Apple tv or Airplay?
    Is this safe?

I agree. I asked Apple Support why Apple hadn't responded to this issue as there was a thread in July 2011 about it. I was told that Apple don;t monitor their support communities. I asked if I could speak to someone in the relevant department at Apple to get some answers. I was told that my enquiry was beyond the 'general' enquiries' in relation to support and I couldn;t speak to anyone else at Apple because they were not 'phone facing.'  Is Apple serious about customer support. I am beginning to think not.

When starting iTunes I continually get an error message " The registry Settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."  I have unistalled and reinstalled iTunes several times and have cleaned up the registry using a 3rd party Windows utility.  Any tips on removing this error message for good?

  • HT2905 Did Apple remove the Find Duplicates feature in iTunes 11?

Did Apple remove the Find Duplicates feature in iTunes 11? I don't see it in the File menu any more.

Apple says it will come back in a future update, but no time frame has been given. For now, you'll need to either find them manually or use a third-party script or utility such as Dupin.
    Regards.

This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software.  Please reinstall iTunes.  I have reinstalled several times but it hasn't changed this error message.  Why am I able to burn a CD using Media Player but not iTunes?  I am using Windows XP and I have burned cds from iTunes in the past.

  • The Registry Settings Used by the itunes drivers for importing and Burning CD's are missing

I get the following error message in the latest version of iTunes on start-up
The Registry Settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and Burning CD's and DVD's are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes.
I tried troubleshooting from a guide on another apple support page and it worked but stopped the DVD Drive working and I have tried reinstalling iTunes but that failed and I don't know what to do and how to get rid of this error on start-up of iTunes

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I have 5 computers authorized to use my iTunes. 2 of those computers do not exist and  have had their hard drives destroyed. How do I remove those computer from my iTunes account?

Begin by opening the iTunes program and going to the iTunes Store via the iTunes Store button in the top right.
Once you're at the iTunes Store, click on the Sign In button at the top left corner (if you're not signed in) or on your account name in the same location (if you're already signed in).
This will bring you to your iTunes account. In the top box, you'll see a section labelled Computer Authorizations towards the bottom. Next to it is a button that reads Deauthorize All. Click it.
A window will pop up asking you to confirm that this is what you want to do. Continue.
In just a few seconds, all 5 computers on your account will be deauthorized.
Now, re-authorize just the computers that you still use and you'll be all set.

  • I received the following message when iTunes launches: "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CD's or DVD's are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning softwarre.  Please reinstall iTunes"

Everytime I connect my iPod Touch (4th Gen) to my laptop, running Win 7 (64 bit) I get the message "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software.  Please reinstall iTunes"  I have reinstalled iTunes several times and it has not fixed the issue.  I am running ver 10.2.2.12 of iTunes.  I HAVE NOT installed any other burning software to my laptop either.  I haven't tried uninstalling iTunes and then re-installing it yet.  Would that perhaps fix the problem?  I've read that many users have had issues with the new version of the software and I was wondering if that might be causing my issue.  I'd like to point out that iTunes seems to work after getting rid of the message, but I haven't tried to burn any CDs or put music from a CD to my laptop.  Any ideas on how to get rid of the annoying message?
I also am having trouble hooking up with our other computers using  Homegroup.  I noticed quite a lot of people are having the same issue and hopefully they come up with a fix for that soon.
    Thanks in advance.

If you're still getting the error message (especially when you plug in the Touch), I'd check for a device filter confusion on the PC. (They can affect the connection of USB devices to a PC, as well as burning and importing CDs.) For that one, see:

  • Hi there can I remove a device from my iTunes using my iphone not a pc?

Can u help I need to remove a device form my iTunes using my phone

Many newer wireless routers can create more than one network simultanesouly. If I wanted to do this, I'd set up a separate network for my child to use, then change the password during those times I wanted him to stay off the net. Or just pull the plug and keep the wireless transmitted (the plug) where he couldn't reach it.
If you're using a recent Airport Base Station or Time Capsule there are better options.
