Registry entries are missing, re-install Itunes

When I start Itunes, I get a message stating that the registry entries are missing and to reinstall Itunes. My Itunes player still works...if I reinstall Itunes, what happens to purchased music? will they recover automatically or do I have to manually find .m4p files?

could you let us know precisely what that error message was saying? sometimes it's easiest to send us a screenshot of the error message box. there's instructions on how to do that given here:

    You should first uninstall iTunes completely.
    This is not an easy task!

    I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

    Thanks for the question, and great troubleshooting so far. If you continue to see this message after uninstalling and re-installing iTunes, you may need to install the device filter in the Windows registry, as outlined in this resource:

    I have multisim V9. several of the database entries are missing. Some were there before and are not there now. Could the database be corrupted? How can I restore the database? I tried to re install, several entries returned , but not all. Whole "families" are missing.

    If you have a database where some families are missing while others are available, this indicates a corrupt database.  You should reinstall but make sure you delete the Multisim install folder, the Add and Remove program utility does not remove your old corrupt database.

    SPRO-Tax on goods movement-India-Specify excise accounts per transactions.
    Check for GRPO & CAPE, whether Dr & Cr accounts are maintained properly or not.
    I think, entry is missing here.

    That suggests that the tracks are damaged.
    If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

    Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
    Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
    Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

    Got the same Pop-up and Apple Sppt told me that UNinstalling Quicktime had fixed this issue in most other cases. I asked IF I had to start over with Uninstalling iTunes, and she answered Yes.
    Read my too-long thread (below) that has an Apple Sppt link at the start about Manual Deletes of several Apple Folders/files being a Key to a proper Uninstall / Re-install of iTunes.
    Do as much as you want but this is what experience led me to so far. We haven't done it yet since the iPhone Sync'd OK and CD burning is not a priority.

    b noir, I have been tracking this thread on several posts regarding issues with CD burn. Help Please. I installed the new version of Nero, I now receive the error message from the itunes setup assistant "warning, the registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing..." I DID the regedits on the filters w/o success. In fact, Nero detects these mods and states the regedites will be changed during the next reboot. However, I still get theis same error during the current session, I have run numerous reairs & reinstalss of itunes and even updated the drivers for my computer w/o success. Spinning my wheels here. I CAN burn CDs fine using Nero in my Audible (audio book) software. Any vectors please! Diagnostics:

    I have an old Ipod nano, with great music on it, however no pc to sync it to and I dont want to lose the music.  I downloaded itunes 10.0 (most recent) and was trying to use yamipod to get the music from it, however it says that it works best with older version of itunes. so i uninstalled new itunes, tried to install older version, had issues, uninstalled all apple programs from pc, now when i try to install older version of itunes i get the error message:

    No, that did not work. I did a system restore on my computer, and then that's why my iTunes reverted back to version 6. Whenever I try to download the newer version, it keeps giving me this error message:
    The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
    And then I will just click 'OK.' Then this will come up:
    The path 'C:\DOCUME~1\HP_Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\IXP705.TMP\iTunes.msi' cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes.
    I just don't know what to do. Please...more feedback!!!

    I know that the circle with the ! shows up if a file is missing, but is there a way to run a diagnostic to find out if files are missing vs. just trying to play each and every song?  I have over 6000 songs and want to verify they are all there.  Any help would be appreciated.

    One way to identify the broken links in your library is to create this set of playlists:
    Lost & Found playlists
    Create a playlist called Found, select everything in Music and drag it into the Found playlist. Create a smart playlist called Lost matching All the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Found. Your lost tracks will be in this playlist.
    Or use iTunes Folder Watch and enable its option to check for dead tracks on startup.

  • TS2776 After installing iTunes 11, we can no longer sync our iPhone and iPad devices with Outlook 2007 or 2010.  We are trying to install iTunes 10 to replace iTunes 11. Anyone have a fix for this?

    Since installing itunes 11, we can no longer sync to our Outlook 2007 and 2010 calendars (there may be other Outlook files included in this syncing problem). Using the iCloud is not an option as it does not support Vista OS.  We are trying to reinstall iTunes 10.7, however; that is not going particularly well, either. Does anyone have a proven solution for this mess?

    FYI: It seems it was a network problem with my WinXP PC. After complete deletion and new installation of XP and iTunes my iPhone will be recognized correctly, Wifi synchronization works (mostly) fine.
