Registry Error About CD/DVD, and I don't have a disk drive.

Hey all, I need some help with an iTunes registry problem. On start-up of iTunes, I receive the message:
"Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."
The thing is I am on tablet/laptop hybrid (has a keyboard that can be detached) that doesn't have a cd/dvd drive. How can I fix this issue? It is more annoying than anything, and it's only been doing this since the last two updates. I have tried the registry fix, and it still seems to be having the problem. Thanks in advance!

I’m not sure about the version: the B&H label says, “PSE, 12.0, MLP, RET, UE 001, DV.
It is my iMac that doesn’t have a disk drive (and by disk drive, I really meant, "CD drive." My age is snowing. My first computer was an Apple IIC). Anyway, my laptop, a MacBook, does have a CD Drive. I am hoping your answer meant that I could load elements onto the macbook and then transfer to the iMac. Is that right?

You're going to have to get the disc(s) back from your brother or call Apple at 1-800-MYAPPLE and havethem mail you the machine specific disc(s) that shipped with your model.

Clicking a Pages table don't give the same result than clicking somewhere in the table then pressing cmd + a.
The first scheme selects the table (height square handles displayed)
The second one select every cells (no handle displayed).
If we try to fill cells with a color in case 1, only standard cells are filled.
If we try to do the same in case 2, every cells (headers included) will receive the color.

Install a hard drive, buy a retail version of OS X appropriate for the computer (OS X 10.5x is likely best) and install the OS on the newly installed hard drive.
You will need a SATA rev 2 or possible SATA rev 3 hard drive of less than 2.2 TB capacity.
Use Western Digital Blue or Black and Hitachi 7k drives.
Western Digital Velociraptors are also good.
SATA rev. 2 drives by WD and Hitachi are plug and play.
SATA rev. 3 drives from WD are fine with jumper on pins 5&6.
Hitachi SATA rev. 3 7200K drives are plug and play.
Do not exceed 2.2 TB in a single volume.
Avoid Seagate and ALL green or 5400 RPM drives.
Best to not risk SATA rev. 3 SSDs. There have been reports of non-use for a couple of popular drives by OCZ, Crucial, Corsair......
Sandforce controlled SATA rev 2 SSDs are fine.
Only retail OS X discs can be used.

IMac has been updated and I don't have install disk for 10.6 or later. Can I still proceed with using Boot Camp 3.0 to install Windows?

I have an iMac that has been updated to Mac OS X 10.6.8. When I purchased the computer, it came with Mac OS X 10.5.6. Will I be able to use Boot Camp 3.0.4 to install Windows without a physical disk of Mac OS X 10.6 or later? Could I get around that if I've backed everything up to Time Capsule? How do I take care of any drivers I may need?

Hi,
you need the OSX Snow Leopard Install DVD since it is the only valid source of the BootCamp Drivers.
The 3.0 version of the BootCamp Drivers is only avaiable on the disc.
Later updates (3.1 and 3.2) can then be downloaded from Apples Support website but require that the 3.0 drivers are already installed.
Easiest solution IMHO is to buy a retail OSX Snow Leopard disc for USD 29.
Btw. the seller of your Mac should have included the install disc for the OSX that is on the harddisk.

Was going to reinstall Illustrator CS4 but now realize I don't have a disk.

I uninstalled my CS4 version and was going to reinstall it. Then I realized that I must have downloaded the original software from Adobe and I don't have a disk. I have a legal serial number. Where can I download a CS4 copy now? I can't find it available on adobe.com and customer support is only available Monday through Friday. TIA.

I phoned Adobe Monday morning and was told that they do not have a copy of the CS4 version to download and that my options were to buy CS5 or find someone with a copy of CS4 that I could borrow. This surprised me -- it doesn't seem like it would be too difficult for Adobe to have a copy available for people who had lost their disk.
So, as I was pondering my situation, I remembered someplace where my original disk might be. I looked and found it, and have now reinstalled my software and everything is looking good (I am such an idiot sometimes).

This worked, I used the method described in this link http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=365156, and opened the Mozilla profile screen with the terminal on my mac, using the language given in the links. Then I duplicated my original profile to save the bookmarks, etc. Put them in a folder listed Duplicate profile with the date. With the open profile screen, I deleted my original profile, created new profile folder and then a new profile. Note that profile cannot be created in the system library, it must be created on the disc, because the library will not allow writing into it. After I created my new profile folder, I dragged all my old information into it, and it worked. Firefox closed and the error disappeared. You must be VERY careful to make sure Firefox is closed anytime you are doing anything with the profile folders. I think that is what caused my original problem.

I want to go back to the previous 2014.2 version. .3 is much too buggy and full of error messages. Creating problems as I am on a timeline with my client and I don't have time to fool around with all the problems.

You didn't mention what error(s) you've encountered? A workaround for the most commonly hit problem is here Re: error in Muse : Object UID:U6875 has two (or more) owners: U3633 and U3165
If you have a copy of your .muse file that has not been saved using 2014.3, you can downgrade by uninstalling Muse and then choose Previous Version in the Filters drop down in the Apps panel of the Creative Cloud desktop app. There will be a popup next to Muse where you can select a prior version to install.
